BIHP 44: Family

It has been a month since that day… and although peace started coming back, or at least the status quo, they still haven't found Makoto. But this by itself brought the world to a new way. Kijo managed to survive his attack, but his injuries were in such bad form that he had to stay bedridden but still conscious and managing to take control. Dio was another miraculous survivor but lost left arm and right eye in the process. Still even with his injury he took control over the Crusaders and became its new leader The Neo exorcist had scattered after the attack to them, after their betrayal of the GHA rules of infighting they were declared as traitors and terrorist. Making them a target in every country. But rumors on the streets say that they still work under secrecy.
Byakuya and his father were in his room. Ever since Kijo was bedridden Byakuya was always going to his room to help him with any job or paperwork he had. He had dedicated his time to help his father until he healed. As they worked with the most recent paperwork they then heard someone call them through the intercom nearby – "Father, young master… your guests of 2:30 pm have arrive"- Shinobu said Kijo then smiled – "tell them to come in"- Byakuya said… they then heard a really soft moan.
After a couple of minutes they heard someone knock the door to Kijo's room – "come in"- from the other side of the door then entered Jin carrying a fruit basket, Kyoko, Tsumugi and Maki – "Welcome"- Kijo said as Jin gave the fruit basket to Byakuya – "So Kijo how are you feeling?"- Kijo then sighed – "I feel better, but still not in the best condition. Even with the help of the Kimuras they said that it will take some time to heal" – He complained and Jin smiled.
"well old friend it has been about time you took some vacations" – Jin joked a bit, and Kijo sighed – "So… how is the investigation?"- He asked, and everyone looked sad, Kyoko looking the worse out all of them.
"We have used all our resources, we have sent scouts, used satellites and everything we could… but we can't find Makoto Naegi"- He said, Kijo then looked thoughtful – "the Clan of the Night. They must be really powerful if they were able to not be found out for so long" – He said – "and what about them, were you able to find about the Clan itself?"- Kijo asked.
"Only rumors and small connections with historical moments in life"- he said confusing Kijo – "what do you mean?"- And Jin looked – "Apparently after the science team analyzed centuries and centuries of human history and found similarities of the way the mythological gods of old religions and the appearance of the Clan of the Night" – He said as he brought some paper – "Like some of the descriptions of the goddess Aphrodite are really similar to this Angie girl"- he said. Tsumugi then remembered how overly seductive and touchy Angie was… which made sense with Aphrodite who was supposed to be the goddess of love – "or how this Kaito looks like Loki from Norse myth"- Kijo then looked surprised over this info.
"I see so those who were considered gods in the past are really Vampires from the clan of the night. That means that they are the ones who have been guiding humanity since their birth"- Kijo said and Jin then noticed Kijo was shacking a bit – "If that is true… then how much power do this people hold?"

The island of Noctis. A mysterious island with a weird set of attributes. First it was protected by a special magnetic wavelength it was undetectable by satellites, radars etc. And thanks to some special crystals in the water it absorbed the light making any pictures of the island look like a empty spot on the sea. Also, other than the Clan of the Night… there were humans in this island. This was a self-sufficient town, governed openly by the Clan of the Night. The citizen knew about the nature of their leaders, yet because of their almost perfect system of government, they fully supported the Clan, even offering their blood to them. Yet while the citizen looked at the Clan as leaders, kings, and gods… the Clan looked at humans like food or servants.
"Master Naegi have you awoken?"- said a human servant as she slowly opened the door she looked inside the room. It was a large royal bedroom with a King size bed which was messy. To it's left was a balcony and standing near the border was Makoto his hair longer now getting to his shoulders still on his PJs looking at the scenery he had been living on for a month. This place is composed of a constantly sunny sky, with an immense ocean. Across this vast ocean are a quasi-infinity of mountain citadels and buildings, which are each connected to each other by a tram system found on each mountain. He could see a group in the town he could see human living there. Because they were still preparing the ritual to bring back Atua he didn't have much to do other than stay. And as he heard the servant, Makoto looked back at her.
"good morning Yumi"- he said with a soft smile making her blush. Before she remembered why she was there – "Master Naegi, your brothers and sisters are waiting for breakfast"- Makoto then sighed as before he looked at his left arm, he had a bracelet in his arm. After he arrived here Kirumi made sure to put for him. This would tell him their location and if he used his powers. It wasn't because they distrusted him, but as a little safety insurance. So although he was free to do anything here… he was also a prisoner.
"I wonder how they are" – Makoto said softly looking at the sky behind him, as he thought in everyone he cared – "Master Naegi?"- Yumi asked, bringing him back to the present – "Ohh sorry I was lost in thought… maybe I'm hungry"- he said and she blushed – "what is it Yumi?"- Makoto asked confused – "Master Naegi. As you know I'm your personal servant… So I'm willing to give you my blood to feed"- She said blushing and a bit shacky. Makoto at first looked surprised but then smiled softly before petting her head – "Maybe another time, after all I have to go get breakfast with the others"- he said, she looked astonished, before she nodded and left the room so he could change.
5 minutes later he was entering the dinning room. He then almost everyone eating there, Angie and Korekiyo – "good morning everyone"- Makoto said saluting everyone – "Good morning Makoto"- Kaito then greeted him as well – "as he sitting next to Himiko he then looked at her – "good morning Himiko" – he greeted her as he sat, and she looked away blushing – "good morning Makoto"- she said surprising everyone there, except Makoto who looked confused, even Rantaro was a bit surprised. Kaito then smiled mockingly – "Wait could it be our little Hestia finally found a man?"- Kaito joked confusing Makoto even more, and making Himiko's face explode of embarrassment. Makoto then looked around – "where are Angie and Korekiyo?"- Makoto asked curious – "Korekiyo is fulfilling a mission right now"- Kirumi said, Makoto was curious about the mission, but thought otherwise – "in the case of Kirumi?"- she said before she blushed – "well..."
"She is probably fucking one of her servants"- Kokichi said not really caring as he drank a glass of blood – "Kokichi!"- Kirumi scold him, and he looked not really caring – "Kirumi, is not like she doesn't do this every couple of days"- Ryoma intersected and Kirumi then sighed, and it was true… Makoto had noticed how many of Angie's servants came back with both bite marks and a pleasured face, but he blushed non the less.
Just as they were talking Angie then entered, her hair a bit messy and she forgot her bikini top – "Oh! Sorry I'm late… I was… doing something"- she said as she looked at one of the male servants who blushed and walked away – "Angie please dress yourself correctly"- Tenko said looking away… although she liked girls like Himiko more… she couldn't lie to herself… Angie was hot.
Angie then noticed her clothes – "ohh sorry"- she blushed sheepishly before she pulled her paintbrush and painted a bikini top which she put on – "Better?" – Kirumi then sighed – "I guess" – Angie then ate and drank some of the blood. While they all ate they noticed Makoto wasn't drinking his blood – "It's there something wrong Makoto?"- Kaito asked him and Makoto smiled – "ohh Sorry… I guess I'm not hungry"- he wasn't lying. He had spent so much time trying to not drink blood that drinking it so openly and constant felt a bit weird.
Makoto then drank a bit of blood and he could feel his body feel the glee – "So Makoto have you accustomed to your life here?"- Asked Rantaro, Makoto had noticed that unlike the first time they met… Rantaro was rather caring with his family – "well a bit… this is probably the longest time I have been without fighting ghouls"- he said and as he said it for a second he worried about his friends, he knew that ghouls and Neo exorcist were still in the world… but now he couldn't help them. Kaito noticed his sadness and felt bad for his new little brother.
"Gonta aren't you going to the Amazons to search for new subspecies of insects?"- he then asked Gonta who just nodded – "Maybe you should take Makoto with you" – Rantaro and Kirumi then looked at Kaito – "We can't just leave him here doing nothing… that sounds boring as hell"- he said and they looked suspicious at him – "don't worry about him, he won't escape"- Kaito said, before looking at Makoto – "So are you interested?"- Makoto then looked before shrugging his shoulders… he didn't have plans for that day – "ok, but make sure to not use your powers unless you completely need to, and remember if you try to escape, we will kill your friends and family"- Makoto looked away, he already knew that… He didn't need to repeat it.
After they ate and Makoto followed Gonta. Kirumi and Rantaro looked at Kaito who only smiled – "You guys can't blame me… if in the end we are going to ask him to help us… at least we have to give him a reason to.

Sayaka was hunting ghouls under the leadership of Izuru. Although Makoto wasn't part of the team anymore they still fulfilled their jobs. And since the fall of H.I.V.E, ghoul activity had decreased quite a bit, since it was harder to obtain G virus serum, and only a small quantity of ghouls could infect others.
Sayaka was cutting down a thick muscular ghoul - "twilight moon-style Changing lunar cycle"- She said as she jumped. The ghoul then punched her… only to his eyes to widen as he felt no resistance and noticed how her after image disappeared.
*clink*
The ghoul then felt how piece by piece his body fell out piece by piece and it died. Sayaka then took a long breath to calm her mind – "So how did it go?"- Asked Maki as she arrived to where Sayaka was. Sayaka then smiled – "well I managed to pull the technique of… but I'm using to much wasted movement"- she said. Maki then sighed – "well that means you just require more training"- Sayaka then smiled, before she looked sadly – "I wonder how he is?"- She said and Maki looked sadly as well.

After that day when Makoto disappeared they all fell apart. Sayaka could remember how it was. She had spent almost 2 weeks locked up in her room. She didn't want to do anything, not train, not hunt, not even be an Idol, and the others weren't any better either. She felt horrible with herself, she was weak… she just stared in fear as they took him away. She cried and cried… but then one day she looked herself in the mirror. She looked like a mess, she had dark marks under her eyes, her hair was messier than Toko's, she looked paler… but as she looked at herself her eyes widened as she noticed her neck, she still had Makoto's bite mark on it. She slowly touched it and suddenly she remembered something.
"see? That is the reason"- he said confusing her – "Yeah not all humans are nice, and not all humans are even good people. But some are, some that are kind, caring, selfless like you"- he said making her blush – "and for those people, I fight, and work hard. In this dark world, I want to protect them so they can share that light with others and maybe one day… Humans won't be as bad"
As she remembered that, like breaking a spell that controlled her she noticed what was happening. How could she just give up after that? after all Makoto had worked so hard and fought for everyone… it was now her turn to fight to protect him.
After that sudden realization she then slapped both her cheeks in determination. After that she went to gather everyone in the team. Which was easier that she thought, after all Izuru, Sakura, Maki, Mondo and Mukuro were ready to go back and grow stronger as they also had their own epiphanies. Kyoko took a bit more convincing since she also felt depressed and guilty for not being able to stop Makoto, but after seeing Sayaka's determination knew she also couldn't fall back, and Byakuya left the team to help his father. Finally, Leon decided to stop after what happened to Luzia. After all he only joined for her, and Sayaka and the team accepted his decision, telling him that they are willing to take him back if he changed his mind.
Also, after noticing how weak she was Sayaka was more determined in her training with Sensei Minato. They have given the news to the Naegi family. Komaru obviously felt sad of loosing her brother once again. But determined to save Makoto, Sayaka promised Komaru she would save him, and Komaru looked a bit surprised… she had been a fan of Sayaka Maizono for a long time… but this was the first time she had seen her like this.
On the other hand while also sad of loosing his son. Minato looked proud at his student. And did two things: First one he started training Sayaka intensely, but second and most shocking, he became a Reaper himself, Joining as a Captain. This time… he would save his son.

"Well we have to go"- Sayaka said to Maki – "we still have a lot to do today"- She said and Maki looked determined, just then a couple of beast looking ghouls appeared in front of them – "Well young ladies… don't you look delicious tonight?"- one of them said, making them sigh.
"Ready Maki?"- Sayaka said as she started pulling his sword – "Of course… they are just a stepping stone for our objective"

Makoto didn't understand how the hell Himiko's ability worked. Maybe it was true magic or something like that, but somehow she had the ability to teleport people to places. Makoto and Gonta then arrived to the Amazon forest.
Makoto looked surprised as he walked through the forest, because he was raised in a city environment he wasn't accustomed to the forest. But he was a bit excited, he actually liked walking through it. He could feel the sunlight between the leaves – "Naegi-kun don't fall behind" – Gonta said and Makoto looked at him who had walked a bit away. Makoto then quickly followed him – "so… Mr. Gonta… why are you so interested in insects?"- Makoto asked a bit curious – "Gonta's power is to create insects with blood"- he said and Makoto looked confused – "wait does that means you can't create item?"- he asked confused and Gonta just shook his head – "no, Gonta can only create insects from blood. So Gonta likes finding new insects, so Gonta can expand power"- He explain, and Makoto smiled a bit… he knew that although Gonta said it was for power, he looked like he enjoyed it. And then a sudden realization came to him
"So everyone has distinct powers from each other?"- Makoto asked, and Gonta nodded. But confused because Angie's powers let her create things like him – "But Angie and I have the same power"- Gonta the shook his head – "Angie power is to paint and sculpt with blood"- he said confusing Makoto – "whatever she paints or sculpts turns real… but only for small time. You can create items and weapon that stay forever"- he said and surprisingly Makoto understood perfectly. Makoto then looked a bit curious.
"Gonta… what is that?"- he then asked pointing a small bug over 15.24 meters (50 feet) away. Gonta then looked at where he was looking and smiled excitedly, before he quickly dashed and captured the bug with a net. And quickly put it in a small cage. – "assassin bug" he explained to Makoto confusing him.
"Insect that injects hit piercer nose, and releases cocktail of enzymes and digestive juices to turn other insects insides into liquid and then drink it up (this is real and really horrifying)"- Gonta explained excited but Makoto felt a bit nauseous. Gonta then looked at Makoto – "thank you for finding"- he said and although Makoto still felt a nauseous he smiled – "Yeah no problem"
They both then kept going and little by little finding more and more bugs: Lantern Flies, Rhinoceros beetles, leafhopper nymphs, and even arachnids like Tarantulas. And although Makoto didn't enjoy the bugs that much, he felt happy for Gonta who looked excited, who now was carrying multiple bug cages.
"Well Makoto we have to leave"- Gonta said and Makoto nodded, they then arrived where the firstly appeared and a Himiko plush appeared – "ready to return"- the doll asked surprising Makoto. Gonta said yes, and the doll expanded and exploded as mist covered them. Makoto coughed a bit but when he looked around he was back in Noctis. Gonta then touched Makoto – "Gonta has to go back to Gonta's insectarium. See you later"- Makoto then said goodbye and Gonta left. Makoto then sighed. What should he do now?
He then decided to give a visit to the town, since was one of the only places he could go… maybe buy some food. As he walked he noticed that everyone was looking at him and talking to each other while staring at him. Makoto was like a local celebrity. After they announced the arrival of the new family everyone was interested to meet him but since his presentation he hadn't come out of his mansion. So it was quite a surprise to see him there.
"is lord Naegi… Omg we are so lucky to see him… Such an Honor… He is Cute… He is Hot"- Makoto could hear the people talking around about him. And blushed over the last two comments.
"Makoto!?"- he then heard a shily voice say, he then noticed that Himiko was there and more people started whispering. Himiko then walked to him – "what are you doing here?"- She asked and Makoto smiled softly – "well I wanted to see around the town, after all I'm going to live here"- He said – "do you want to come with me?"- Himiko then blushed… was he asking her for a date – "Um… sure"- Makoto then noticed that around him were staring at them – "So… how about we go… is there a café nearby? I been wanting for some frappe in a while"- he said, Himiko then smiled – "Yes I'll guide you"
Without even thinking she then held Makoto's hand as she guided him through the city. Contrary to the fact that Noctis was isolated from any of the other countries, its technological capabilities were equal o even higher that other countries. The reason for this was that thanks to Kirumi's abilities as leader information and technology in Noctis was always 20 years ahead.
As they walked through the city, people were looking at the two vampires and saying hello and slightly bowing to them. They then arrived to the small restaurant Black night Coffee. – "this is my favorite place… it makes delicious sweets"- she said excitedly. Makoto then looked at her and smiled – "that's great… but I think is going to be difficult to sit if we keep holding hand"- he said a bit embarrassed. Himiko then looked confused, when she noticed that she was still holding his hand and quickly dropped it embarrassed – "sorry"- Makoto then smiled embarrassed.
"it's ok… well we should go in"- He said. Immediately after he said that a couple of waiters and waitress appeared and guided them to the best table. As they sat they asked for their orders and like a flash the servers went to work. As they waited for their order Makoto decided to talk with Himiko.
"So I never asked why are I the city?"- Asked Makoto, Himiko then sighed – "Angie asked me to get her some art supplies"- Makoto looked confused over that, and she blushed a bit – "She says that every time she goes to buy them, she finds a pretty face and ends up spending the day with him" - Makoto then blushed as well – "I see"- Just then their orders arrived and they started enjoying their orders. Makoto with his Frappe and Himiko ordered some crepes. While they ate Makoto then thought for a second – "actually Himiko… I was wondering, if you want… how does your powers work?"- He said. Himiko then looked suspiciously… it wasn't the first time someone had asked… and it was always to take advantage of her – "why do you want to know?"- Makoto eyes then widened but then smiled softly.
"Sorry, If you don't want to tell me it's ok… I guess I was being rude"- he said and Himiko looked surprised. She had never seen someone like Makoto. He was being honest, and she felt guilty for being suspicious of him – "No it's ok"- she said nervously – "is just that people only ask for my abilities to find weaknesses and hurt me"- she said remembering all those horrible moments – "Well then I don't want to know anymore"- Makoto said smiling surprising her – "Uh?"
"If you telling me hurts you… then I don't wasn't to know"- He said smiling softly and Himiko's face exploded in red… he was so gentle and kind – "it's ok… I want to tell you"- she said and Makoto looked worried – "are you sure? I don't want to hurt you"- he said honestly. Making her heart pound hard… she had never felt this before with any man. – "It's ok… but only if you promise me something"- Makoto listened closely.
"Promise me to help us if there's a problem"- Makoto then looked - "I can promise , but what if in order to help you… I have to fight you?"- he said. He didn't want to fight them… but he didn't know and she smiled – "You sound like Atua"- she said confusing him – "Atua used to say that sometime to protect the people you care you have to hit them"- she said giggling a bit.
"really?"- She then giggled a bit over seeing him blush – "My powers… are weird. I can connect the space between my blood she said as she marked the table in two places and let her spoon fall in one of the marks and it appeared on the other. She then looked curiously at Makoto and noticed he looked really excited – "Oh my god that its so cool"- he said excited and she blushed a bit before looking away – "It's not that cool… for it to work I have to mark my blood in different places… the only reason I can use it effectively is because of how long I have lived and all the places I have traveled to"- she said but Makoto's smile still stood.
"Well I still believe is cool"- He said and she blushed – "You are the second person to get so excited over my powers… the only other person was only Atua"- she said and Makoto looked curious – "actually could I ask… how is Atua?"- he asked her confusing her – "I mean I have to help you guys bring him back… but I don't even know how he is"- And Ezio hadn't talked to him since they arrived here, he knew she was trying to hide something. Himiko then smiled.
"well Atua is… Atua is… umm Atua is…"- Makoto noticed that she looked like she couldn't remember him. Himiko then shrieked a bit in pain as her started to hurt – "Himiko are you ok?"- Makoto asked worried and she looked at him. – "sorry my head hurts"- she said apologenic – "It's ok, let's take you home"- Makoto then started to pay – "Lord Naegi it's ok you don't have to pay"- Makoto was going to argue but they insisted… a bit annoyed Makoto instead gave them a big tip (because you always have to tip the servers, you hear me? Always, it's called manners… sorry for the mini rant) and carried Himiko in a bridal style, making her face red – "Lord Naegi if you want we could carry lady Yumeno if you desired"- offered one of the waiters but Makoto smiled – "don't worry she isn't heavy at all, so I can take her"- as he carried her outside, everyone noticed Himiko was fully red.
As they arrived to the mansion Angie could see them walking there and looked envious – "Himiko don't try to steal him from me… I'm going first"- she said softly with malevolent smile.

Minato, now a full-fledged reaper captain walked through the jail cells of the Reaper prison. Until he arrived to a specific jail cell – "you know, I always thought that if one of us would end up in this situation it would be me… but I guess I was wrong… isn't that right Martel?"- he said as he looked at his wife imprisoned, after the raid they had managed to capture her – "what do you want Minato… to make fun of me?"- she asked madly and he sighed – "No… I just want to know… why? Why did you do all of this? Why hurt Makoto… our son? Why join the enemy?"- He asked. She then looked away – "I can tell you if you promise me my freedom back"- Minato looked mad and she looked at him – "don't worry this information will also help you find… him"- Minato looked a bit mad that she wouldn't call Makoto by his name but calmed down.
"What do you mean?"- She then looked away again – "I know where they are"- Minato looked shocked, but then suspicious – "and how do you know this?" – He asked and then she looked directly at his eyes – "because I was born there"

Well this is the end of the chapter.
First things first you maybe thinking why are the clan of the Night so nice to Makoto… well originally I was going to make them chain Makoto in a cell, and then create a huge rescue scene from the other characters… but then as I thought the continuation of the story and the requirements to function… I thought… they actually can't be to much of a Dick to Makoto… so instead I changed it so they would treat him nicely… the way I see it is like the Noah Family from .
Well with that explained… I hope you liked it, so please review if you think it was good or if you believe it sucked… Because maybe I can make it suck less
