Chapter 51: Bienvenue à Paris

…

Atua walked next to both his personal brainwashed bodyguards Himiko and Kokichi as they walked through a dark hallway, arriving at an elevator which they rode down, when the door opened Atua then noticed a blood bullet almost hitting him, but he didn't react.

"Hello father… how are you?"- said a young boy with one red eye and a blue eye, white and black hair with a creepy smile, while a group of 6 similar looking kids looked at Atua some excited, some none caring. And behind them there was a door with clear doors and inside was Dr. Tsesuna who looked pleased with some exams – "Good afternoon Lucius, my children"- Atua said looking at them – "I came to talk to the Dr. How are you all faring?"

"We just came from tests, the Dr. is verifying our results"- said a female one with short black with white tips hair and one red-eye and a golden Yellow one – "I see... well than children. I shall go talk to him"- the children then looked as Atua and his bodyguards entered the room where the Dr. was – "Minora always the daddy's girl"- Lucius said and he felt a blade made of blood cut his neck and noticed it came from the floor.

"Shut up Lucius, if you want your head to remain attached to your disgusting neck"- Minora said as her eyes glowed and released her bloodthirst. Lucius looks at his blood on his neck and then released his bloodthirst aiming his finger at her. – "Enough!"- then said one of them with fully black hair, a black eye, and a red one as he looked at them seriously and with his dark aura releasing, making both Minora and Lucius stopped – "Ok Hector… we are calm"- Said Lucius as he looked at him but then looked serious – *filthy dolls of Father… do not worry I shall take care of him soon enough* - Lucius thought

Inside the room, Atua then walked to the Dr. – "good afternoon Doctor… how are my children acting?"- he said and the Dr. looked at them excitedly looked at him – "Yes… I can't believe we managed to pull it off… By adding your pure blood DNA and part of your mind into those human children, we have managed to create artificial Vampires, just like my previous guinea pig… fully loyal to your cause"- he said and Atua looked suspiciously.

"Are they truthfully loyal? I can feel some of them have grudges against me"- he said and the Dr. nodded – "Well just like you, they too have wishes of power and become stronger"- Atua looked a bit mad over his insinuation – "But they can't act with intentions of harming you… or betraying. After all your blood submits them to your power"- Atua then smiled – "that is great to know… and how powerful are they compared to the real vampires?"

"Although their current power isn't as strong as the pureblood. Their growth is amazing, I would even say that their current level is on the same as my previous guinea pig"- Atua then smiled – "I see… that is great… I will wait to see their progress"- he said and the Dr. bowed – "Yes lord Atua"

As they arrived in an army of helicopters to the Roissy Charles de Gaulle at the north. The first thing they noticed was it was filled with ghouls – "we can't land with that many enemies"- said the pilot – "No worries we will take care of it"- said a person as he opened the helicopter door.

Makoto then looked down – "Tsumugi, bring Mondo. Mukuro, Izuru, and Sayaka support us with ranged fire. Kyoko contact all the other helicopters, order them to attack."- Makoto said just before he and Maki jumped from the helicopter over 100 meters (about 328 feet) followed by Maki, Tsumugi a bit reluctantly summoned her wings and grabbed Mondo as she flew down quickly.

Makoto then summoned a spear and as it landed he speared one of the ghouls, killing it immediately. Makoto then turned it into a Scythe and started slicing them, when a large ghoul appeared behind them and tried to crush Makoto only to be sliced by two black blades as Maki landed.

Tsumugi and Mondo then arrived and started fighting as well. Tsumugi then rose her wings and flying around as her claws grew and she started slashing them one by one and taking them out. As they fought the people on the helicopters started providing support from the top. It didn't take long before they were able to land and help faster. And in less than an hour, they managed to take over the airport. Turning it into a small base for the mission. For the leader of this mission, they assigned Kyosuke Munakata, with the support of Yukizome and Juzo.

"Everyone the mission will start in less than an hour, so all of you find your squadrons and prepare yourself to fight… remember this fight will be a long one, so make sure to fulfill anything you require"- he said and everyone agreed, as they started to prepare. Makoto's team then joined together.

As they ate something Makoto noticed that some of them were a bit nervous. He then stopped eating them, surprising them – "I know this is supposed to be the time where I should say a grand speech that would lift your morale for battle… but honestly just like you guys… I'm a bit scared"- he said smiling softly – "this is such a big moment and such a big fight… I'm sure none of us was completely ready to enter a war… We will see a lot of things we won't like… but we must keep going… and we must survive… only that way we can keep going. So my only request for you guys… I don't care if you have to run, I don't care if you have to betray the mission, but please… stay alive"- he said and they all looked at his sad smile… and sadly nodded.

"Ok let's go to work"

….

Makoto and his team (except Kyoko) were walking through the ruins that were Paris… and to the surprise of most of them it wasn't as bad as they thought it would be… yes there was some dirt and plant growth here and there but it was nothing as bad other than the occasional ghoul here and there – "What the fuck? There is nothing… no corpses, no destruction… where is everyone?"- Mondo then asked as he looked around and noticed Makoto's face of sadness – "what's wrong?"- asked Sayaka a bit worried – "Maki… Tsumugi… you can smell it can't you?"- He then asked and Maki nodded – "the hundred of thousands of dead people smell… yeah I can't stop smelling it"- she said surprising the others.

"What do you mean... I don't smell anything"- Mukuro asked a bit confused – "it's our super senses. We can smell things way stronger"- Maki explained – "but what do you mean about the dead bodies?"- Sakura then asked confused and Makoto looked sadly – "Kaito's power is to make himself or other things incorporeal. So… what if he made the floor of Paris incorporeal?"- he said sadly and they looked in horror as they understood what he meant… they then looked at the floor, if what he said was right then under the ground there would be a monumental quantity of bodies, stuck deep underground where the sun would never shine again.

"Let's keep going… we can't stay in thought for too long"- Makoto said calmly and they nodded. They knew that although he didn't express it… Makoto was mad.

As they quickly moved through the city, listening in the background the constant fighting of the others. And although they wanted to help, they knew their mission was too important. They had little time to arrive at where Kaito was.

They dashed following Makoto who was tracking Kaito until they finally arrived at his location Le Grand Rex a cinema and concert venue in Paris, an extremely large theatre with a capacity of 2800 people, and honestly one of the places Sayaka wished she could have sung on. Makoto then noticed that she looked sadly at what remained of the place, determined he then looked forward – "let's go"

As they entered the main stage, they noticed in the center of it was Kaito in a seat drinking blood from a dead ghoul. Kaito then looked at them, and Makoto smiled – "Is nice to see you again"- Makoto then summoned his blades at the same time everyone prepared as well. Kaito noticing the danger then stood up and threw the ghoul's body away.

Makoto took the first dash as he went for the attack only to miss as Kaito went underground. Noticing that he was going – "Be careful! Sparse!"- Makoto screamed and they jumped scattering. Mukuro noticed a hand coming off the ground and she dodged back to prevent Kaito from trying to stab her. She then reacted pulling her gun and aiming at his head shooting it only for it to go through.

Kaito then rose his hand to stab her piercing her chest while Izuru appeared slashing his neck in half. Mukuro then fell to the floor and quickly checked her chest, noticing no injury on it, she then tried to quickly calm herself as fear started going in her heart, but she didn't let it. Izuru also looked surprised as he noticed that Kaito's head was still attached. Kaito then quickly turned back to strike him and Izuru rose his arms to defend, only for Kaito's arm to pass through them before it struck him in the face and sent him flying headfirst to a wall only to be saved by Sakura. As this happened Maki then turned all her hair into black spears and attack him with it as it rained she looked from the second floor at the massacre but looked mad as he walked out unscathed.

Kaito then looked forward as a small red ball appeared before it exploded. Leon looked from where they exploded, only to see Kaito dashing to him, Tsumugi then took advantage of this moment and with her wings shot her feathers only for all of them to go through him. Kaito then tried to stab Leon only to notice an ax going near his neck. The ax went through and as it was going to touch Leon only to be parried by Sayaka who protected Leon from the strike.

Immediately she transitioned to attack with her sword and struck quickly, only to miss as the blade went through. Kaito then aimed at her neck trying to decapitate her. As he almost attacks her, Kaito then felt a foot hitting him right in his face, kicking him and making him fly away.

Makoto then landed in front of her – "I won't let you hurt the people I care"- Makoto then said mad at him. Sayaka then smiled softly as she felt appreciated. Makoto then looked at Kaito stand up and aimed at him with his swords – "Kaito I will beat you and set you free"- he said determinedly.

His team then felt more determined, even Mukuro who's heart finally managed to calm down. They all then got ready to fight once again, now more determined than ever – "Ok let go"- Makoto said as he started dashing to them. Kaito then started sinking again only to notice a bunch of small red looking balls they then exploded leaving a small crater where Kaito was going to sink and releasing him from the floor. Surprised Kaito then noticed that from his clothes black strings came from it tying him and restraining him in the spot. Although Kaito was under control he looked surprised since he was in his intangible mode and yet he was restrained, he then noticed that because he hadn't noticed the fact it was in his clothes the hairs had become intangible as well. Noticing this he then made his body tangible escaping his trappings only to be surrounded by everyone except Makoto. Seeing that he had no other option he then rose his hands and they all stopped mid-air.

They looked shocked but knew what happened. Makoto had explained to them that although not common Kaito could temporarily turn intangible things into tangible, like the air surrounding them. Kaito then pushed everyone away sending them flying.

Kaito breathed heavily as he tried to compose himself again, only to notice Makoto dashing to him and attacking him. Kaito knew he wouldn't be able to dodge. Makoto then swung his blade only to bring it back as he blocked a shot aimed at his head.

He then landed as everyone looked at the source of the shot. Seeing a boy with white and black straight hair, a blue eye, and red-eye – "I see so you are the ones who are messing with our Kaito"- Lucius said.

Makoto, Maki, and Tsumugi's eyes widened as they all felt Atua's energy and blood going through him. Makoto also that noticed that behind him Himiko was there. Kaito then moved over to him like he was under a spell.

"Who are you?"- Makoto asked as his team joined with him. Lucius then smiled – "so you are the rebel vampire, interesting… I can see why my father wants you dead"- Makoto then looked seriously at him – "Father?"- Makoto then asked trying his best to contain his bloodlust.

"Oh my apologize vampire-kun. My name is Lucius Lancelot, one of the children of Atua"- he explained while he bowed – "Children of Atua?"- Makoto then asked. Lucius then smiled – "We are people who have been chosen to share Atua's power and become the princes of the new world of darkness" – He said.

"And you are here to stop us?" – Makoto then asked while they got prepared to fight, but then Lucius rose his hands – "Oh no, on the contrary, I want to ally with you"- he said and Makoto looked slightly confused – "What do you mean alliance?"- he said.

"Well, you see rebel Vampire… I want to overthrow my father… and for that, I require your power"- he said with an evil grin – "what do you mean?"- he said. And Lucius smiled – "I can't injure my father. or better yet none of the children or any with the blood of my father can attack or injure my father. Only you can… so with your help we can destroy my father and take his empire for ourselves"- he proposed but Makoto glared at him.

"I'm not interested"- Makoto said coldly surprising Lucius – "what do you mean you are not interested, didn't you rebel against father because you wanted his spot?"- he asked and Makoto looked serious – "No… I just want to stop him"- he said seriously. Lucius looked surprised for a second before he looked annoyed.

"I see… you are one of those who believe they are heroes… So sad… I thought we could achieve a lot together… Guess that is what happens when you believe in others"- He then rose his hand and Makoto slashed the air confusing everyone else only to hear 2 loud sounds behind them, they looked back and noticed 2 large holes – "You bastard"- Makoto said enraged making Lucius smile.

"I guess you are paying attention"- he said before he noticed Makoto was mid-air in front of him about to cut off his head, he looked shocked as Naegi slashed only for both of them to notice a blood red carpet interfere. Makoto then slashed the carpet seeing Himiko trying to teleport them away. Makoto looked serious.

"Izuru, Mukuro, Mondo, and Tsumugi target Himiko, we can't let her use her power… if she does this whole fight was a failure…. Leon, Sayaka, Maki, and Sakura you take care of Kaito… keep him distracted until I can support you… I'll kill the head"- he ordered and immediately they all nodded before they took their positions.

Lucius looked a bit impressed and angry after Himiko had saved him as they all took their positions quickly, Kaito was on the second floor of the theater, Himiko was in the lobby and he was right in the middle of the stage, before looking at Makoto – "can I ask… although you know the powers of the vampires, why instead of supporting them why to target me?"- He asked curiously. Makoto then aimed his blades – "Because… I can feel something even more dangerous in you"- he said, Lucius then smiled – "I see you aren't as dumb as I thought"- he said.

Makoto then dashed to him with his blades, appearing behind him. but his eyes then widened as he blocked with his swords something that sends him flying, Makoto then landed looking at his swords which were broken, he then quickly remade them before he slashed another mysterious shot.

"I'm impressed that you can notice them… after all, there isn't a lot of people who can see my blood shots"- Makoto then felt pain and started vomiting blood – "But I guess you couldn't see all of them"- Makoto then fell to the floor in pain – "I guess you weren't expecting that I can shoot my blood bullets at Mach 2 from every pore of my body"- Naegi then slowly stood up trying to re-balance himself.

Makoto also noticed that for some reason his healing factor was going slower. But even then he still managed to stand and prepare himself – "Interesting… I thought that level of pain would be enough to stop you… but I guess you are stronger than I thought"- Makoto then glared at him.

Lucius then smiled and Makoto used his blood to quickly create a large shield that started barely blocking all the bullets since the bullets were going so fast and strong some of them managing to pierce the shield.

"Makoto!"- screamed worriedly Sayaka, only for Maki to block an attack from Kaito – "Sayaka don't lose your concentration"- Maki said – "But Makoto…"- she said worriedly – "if you don't concentrate in the fight you will also end up injured"-Sayaka then stopped looking at Makoto and kept his worries for herself before going back to the fight with Kaito.

After about half a minute of a pure barrage, Makoto finally healed enough to fight. And although the barrage hadn't finished Makoto quickly jumped from his shield dashing as fast as possible and dodging all death-threatening bullets and only receiving minor injuries.

Makoto then managed to close to Lucius, before his eyes widened as he felt a mayor attack coming. Lucius then smiled as he shot from all his pores attacking everyone around himself. Maki and Tsumugi then quickly help block the attacks to protect the others.

After it all happened Lucius smiled proudly only to notice that Makoto wasn't there, much to his shock. Lucius then felt a weird presence and a chill on top of him. Quickly he looked up and noticed Makoto falling with his blades, he tried to react but failed as Makoto fell slashing and decapitated him.

After he cut off his head Makoto started to calm down and heal, He then looked at his team, who were still fighting against the enemies.

Izuru, Mukuro, Mondo, and Tsumugi were fighting against the powerful Himiko. Her power was extremely useful and powerful since all their attacks were warped away and none were able to strike true. Mukuro was shooting with her Uzi guns and Tsumugi was shooting her powerful feathers but all their ammo were disappearing before being able to touch her. While Mondo and Izuru were quickly attacking them with their weapons but they weren't able to touch her.

"Dammit she is annoying"- Tsumugi complained while still fighting – "Do not stop attacking you need to maintain her from using her powers and leaving, if she uses it to protect herself she won't be able to leave"- Izuru explained as he was calculating the best way to success. After over 100 calculated possible plans, he finally arrived at one possible trick to work.

"Mondo follows my lead"- Izuru then said before running to Himiko. Mondo nodded and ran as fast as possible before he jumped and swung his ax against Himiko, only to appear behind her. Izuru then attacked while receiving support from Tsumugi and Mukuro but his attacks weren't able to hit. Izuru then used his gear eyes and slowed downtime using the time to quickly dodge the warps and attack.

Using his blade tonfas he pierced through her chest only to notice a warp to the back of her body. He then noticed the warp portal getting smaller, Izuru then pulled his arm back, but to be able to pull back he had to leave his tonfa, pulling his arm and rolling back.

Izuru then looked angrily- "Izuru did the plan failed?"- Mondo then asked, but Izuru didn't answer. Himiko then rose her hand and a warp appeared behind them and they all felt a powerful pull. They noticed that behind them was the inky black void of space pulling them strongly. Tsumugi and Mukuro then both grabbed bolted chairs while Izuru and Mondo used their weapons to maintain themselves in position without getting pulled.

"Izuru what should we do?"- Screamed Mondo as they grabbed to dear life – "Just hold on"- he screamed while trying to hold. The void pull was too strong, but not enough to pull them in, so Himiko made the portal grow.

"I can't hold on"- Mondo then screamed as the pull became stronger… and it stopped. Tsumugi, Mukuro, and Mondo looked surprised at Himiko who herself was also surprised as she saw a blade of Izuru's other tonfa stick on her chest. Izuru then smiled as he managed to stand – "not enough to kill you… but it will work" – He said and Himiko felt a powerful shock on her body as she felt how Makoto's blood invaded and destroyed Atua's presence. After about 10 seconds her body finally gave in and she fell unconscious. Izuru then ordered Mondo to stay with Himiko while they would support Makoto. Mondo then nodded and the others went to the stage. Only to be shocked as they noticed Makoto full of holes and the other teammates injured around the area.

Sayaka, Sakura, and Maki were working together as they attacked Kaito with the support of Leon but with Kaito's ability it was rather tenuous to find an opportunity to strike – "Twilight moon-style new moon slash!"- Sayaka attacked appearing behind him and slashing him but it was for naught as her blade passed through him. Kaito then tried to attack her and Sayaka grinned as Sakura managed to grapple him and Maki used her hair spears targeting both of them. Kaito then phased through Sakura, only to be shocked as Maki's hair went around Sakura as he was turning back into physical. Kaito then rose his hands to block the attack sacrificing his arms. He then jumped back while he started healing back only to find Leon's explosives that exploded on contact sending him flying. Kaito then looked away and he jumped from the second balcony floor to escape, but he then noticed Makoto appeared and tried to slash him. Kaito then let Makoto cut off his arm as a sacrifice to protect his body and fell to the stage.

Makoto then landed on the wall and jumped from it to Kaito, followed by Maki, Leon, Sakura, and Sayaka. As Kaito landed he noted that Makoto was close and he slashed at Kaito again only to pass through him the others also then tried to attack but also weren't able to attack.

Because he was healing he couldn't use his power for long and Makoto then dashed to Kaito and started slashing, but not only Kaito was able to perfectly sync his phasing to dodge mayor attacks, but at the same time he was able to use martial arts to parry Makoto's techniques.

Kaito then attacked and tried to decapitate him with his hand, but Makoto quickly reacted and jumped to dodge. Kaito then noted that Sayaka appeared – "Twilight moon-style crescent moon slash"- she said slashing, Kaito knowing he couldn't phase tried to jump back only to notice that his feet were tied with hair, he then tried to Matrix dodge the attack but felt an attack on his back pushing him forward as Sakura punched him. Kaito then knew there was no way to dodge Sayaka's attack and got ready for the worse.

Sayaka then slashed with all her strength only to feel someone pull her back and she saw a large red looking laser appear where she was standing. She then looked back to see who pulled her and noticed it was Makoto. As they landed they then looked at the source of the laser and noticed that from the decapitated body of Lucius a large eye was in the middle. Makoto then looked shocked as from the neck appeared tendrils that searched for his head and connected back to its body, after a couple of seconds the head reattached itself to the body, and Lucius started standing up.

"Ouch that hurt a lot"- Lucius complained while he stretched his neck. Makoto then glared as he could feel an instinctual fear – "How were you able to come back?"- Makoto then asked Lucius, and Lucius looked at him – "Surprised? Well although your abilities can indeed kill us… Dr. Tsesuna made us endure quite a bit of damage"- Makoto then looked angrily as he heard the name of the Dr.

"Well that just means I have to kill you again" – Makoto then said as he glared at him. Lucius then smiled angrily – "do you think I'm going to let you do that again?"- he said angrily and Makoto and Maki could feel a deep, instinctual fear. They then noticed that Lucius' body started morphing. A dark purple liquid covered him and his body was covered in what looked an armor. His face was covered with a full mask and from his armor appeared a bunch of cannon looking mutations. Lucius then aimed at Makoto. Makoto tried to react but his eyes widened as his body was just covered in holes.

"Naegi-kun!"- screamed in shock the others as they looked at Makoto's state. Leon then immediately reacted and threw bombs at Lucius exploding on contact. But while the dust was there Leon then felt pain on his shoulder as a small laser pierced through his shoulder. And after the dust settled in Lucius as still there completely uninjured – "Do not worry humans I haven't forgotten about you"- he said as from his body a bunch of lasers shot out hitting each of them. Sayaka in her left leg, Maki on the right side of her chest, Sakura right in the middle, and Leon on his other shoulder.

They all then fell injured just as the door opened and Izuru, Tsumugi, and Mukuro entered and see the room seeing all of them injured. Both Tsumugi and Mukuro then felt a push as Izuru protected them sacrificing and injuring a leg, his right arm, and a shoulder. Tsumugi then immediately reacted and shot her feathers at him, and Mukuro started shooting her guns as well, but he easily shot all the projectiles in the air and injured them, hitting Mukuro right on her chest and Tsumugi on her neck as they both fell as well.

"It's this it? I thought you all were stronger than this"- Lucius then laughed as he walked to Makoto before accidentally hitting Kaito's cut off an arm. He looked a bit interested before he grabbed it and threw it to Kaito – "Heal Kaito… My father wouldn't like it that his toys are broken"- he said As Kaito put on his arm back, he grunted a bit as his arm started reattaching.

Lucius then walked over at Makoto's body which was trying to heal, but it was slow. Lucius then stood on top of him and looked down at him. Makoto couldn't see his face since it was covered with a full mask – "so here stands the rebel. The one who believed he could fight against our father… you know I was honest with my proposition… and I still am. If you work with me we can kill my father. So why don't we work together?"- But Makoto only glared at him.

"So sad… I thought we could work together"- he said a bit disappointed before he pulled all his cannons unto him – "I guess then I will see how truly immortal you are"- Makoto could see how the lasers then started to glow as they charged.

But then the lights went out as everyone looked shocked, especially Lucius who noticed a hand going through him, Lucius then looked back and looked at Kaito attacking him – "dammit I guess the brainwash didn't let me to fully injury you"- Kaito complained.

"How is it possible that you can resist my father's control?"- Lucius said shocked and Kaito smiled – "Because Makoto cut off my arm a part of his blood was able to neutralize enough for me to free myself to protect my little brother"- Kaito said. Lucius then looked mad… or at least it felt that way before he started laughing.

"Although is impressive that you managed to free yourself… it's obvious you still can't fully break the brainwash… So I just need to break you enough before taking you back to father"- Lucius screamed as from his body multiple cannons appeared targeting Kaito. The lasers then went fully covering Kaito. After the lasers went out they noticed Kaito's body wasn't there. Kaito then appeared from the ground next to Makoto before he fell to the ground coughing blood – "I see in the end you were able to use your ability but you are still too injured to fight anymore"- he said and Kaito smiled – "my plan was never to fight you"- he said surprising Lucius before he slit his arm letting all his blood go to Makoto's mouth, shocking both of them. Makoto then felt his body convulse and he could feel pain.

"What the hell are you doing Kaito? You don't know how he will react to drinking your blood"- Lucius said angrily… he had planned to kidnap Makoto and use it for his plans… but if Makoto died… he would lose his only card against his father. But he looked surprised as he saw Kaito grin – "I know that Makoto will surpass my expectations isn't that right Makoto?"

Makoto could feel his body burn…. But then he felt an incredible surge of power. Lucius then noticed that Makoto's body was covered in a crimson liquid. From that liquid a quick object came out, Lucius then looked where the object dashed. They all looked shocked as they saw Makoto in his full costume standing mid-air.

Makoto then summoned his swords and quickly dashed to where Lucius was. Confused Lucius then shot at him with his lasers. Only for his eyes to widen as Makoto appeared behind him. Lucius then jumped to dash, barely dodging a decapitation but his mask was fully destroyed. Lucius landed back his face slashed and injured. He then looked where Makoto was and glared at him – "how dare you?!"- he screamed in anger, but Makoto didn't react.

In rage Lucius then created a bunch of cannons and aimed all of them at Makoto. But before he could even charge it Makoto appeared in front of him and cut all of them out – "dual Crimson moon-style"- Makoto said and Lucius felt an internal fear – "wait… we can work this out!"- Lucius said in shock.

"Changing Lunar Cycle"- Makoto said as he slashed his sword slashing and cutting him in multiple slices. Lucius could only see for a couple of seconds… before he could only see pure darkness and died.

Right then another team entered the room accompanying Mondo who was carrying Himiko. The Great Gozu then looked at Makoto – "How are you guys?"- Makoto then smiled tiredly – "mission accomplished"- he said before he fainted.

….
