JJ and Jayne wanted to tell Rose about their engagement as soon as possible. The two went over to Kelly's, and as soon as she saw them, Rose's face lit up.

"Look at there, my two favorite people." She gave them both hugs.

"Hey, Gran. We got some news for you." JJ said as he pulled the seat out for his grandmother and then for Jayne.

Once they were all seated, Rose spoke up. "Is this good news or bad news?"

JJ and Jayne looked at each other, and JJ gave a nod. Jayne put her hand on the table. "Fantastic news."

Rose saw the ring on Jayne's hand and looked at JJ. The excitement on her face said it all. "Joey! Oh, this is wonderful!" Rose jumped up to hug them both. "I know you said you were thinking about it, but obviously you did more than that! Congratulations!"

Jayne and JJ both hugged Rose back. "Thank you. You know JJ got my parents involved and everything."

Rose couldn't stop smiling as she looked at JJ. "You did? That's so sweet! I bet Robert and Holly are as over the moon as I am."

"Oh yes, and so are Tiff, Annie, and Seana. I didn't get a chance to tell Ethan yet, but I know he'll be happy for us." Jayne smiled as she looked over hearing the door open.

Holly and Robin walked inside, and Robin went right over to Jayne. She had texted her the night before and was so excited to congratulate her in person. "This is so exciting! Congratulations." She gave Jayne a hug and then JJ one. "Look at all the brothers I'm ending up with."

Holly laughed. "A bunch of wonderful men."

"Thank you both." JJ smiled.

Rose got up to hug Holly. "Well, it's about to be official. Are you ready to be family?"

Holly hugged her back. "I thought we already were family."

Rose laughed. "Well, I guess we were and always will be, but now we have these two kids making it even more permanent!"

"I would love to sit and visit, but I'm going to go back to the PCPD today for at least a little while. See if I am ready to go back fully." Jayne told her family as she stood up.

Holly went over to her and hugged her. "Just be careful. Don't push it."

"I won't, mum. I'll see you at home." She said to Holly, then looked at Robin. "We will catch up soon."

"Okay, I need to get to the hospital anyway. I'm just picking up my order." Robin went to the waitress at the counter.

JJ and Jayne said goodbye to each other before Jayne went to the PCPD.

"Do you think she's ready for it?" Holly asked JJ, worried about her daughter.

JJ tried to reassure his future mother-in-law. "I do, I really do. She's very strong."

Holly smiled at him and nodded. "Thank you for that."

PCPD

Jayne went to Robert's office when she got there. "Hi, commissioner."

Robert smiled at his younger daughter. "Glad to have you back. It's going to be desk work for a little while, then I'll get you on the case I told you about."

Jayne nodded. "If you need to put someone else on it, that's alright, dad. I want to do it, but more than anything, I want this town to be safe."

"That's what I want to." Robert gave her a hug. "It's really good to have you back."
