A/N: Hey guys. Hope that everyone is enjoying the story. I know that I'm enjoying writing this one. Before I started this story, it had been a while since I had written anything. Life and all… anywho… chapters that are corresponding with an SOA episode will have the episode name as the title. Other chapters won't have a title name so to speak. I'm slowly working on getting more twilight characters worked into the story. So here's the next chapter. Hope that you
Chapter 4
Bella POV
Things were good. Opie and I had admitted that we had feelings for each other. I'd hoped that when he told Kenny and Ellie that we were together that they would be just as happy. I just had to tell my Dad. I wasn't exactly sure how he was going to relax. I knew that he'd given Opie his blessing but that was between him and Opie. I mean how would he feel when I told him that we were actually together.
Today was my birthday. I felt like it was going to be a great day. I had so much to be thankful for on my birthday this year. I was sitting at the breakfast bar drinking a cup of coffee waiting for Dad to get up so that I could tell him about me and Ope. I wanted to get it out of the way. I was just about finished with my coffee when Dad finally came out of his bedroom, with a blonde following behind him. I rolled my eyes as she walked past me and left. "Can't you do that at the Clubhouse? Is it really necessary to bring the skanks home, Dad?" I asked him as I got up and fixed myself another cup of coffee. I went ahead and poured him one. I walked back to my chair at the breakfast bar and sat back down handing him his coffee.
"I guess I could have stayed at the Clubhouse last night, but I didn't want to leave you home alone." Dad said as he leaned over and kissed my cheek. "Happy birthday, munchkin." He said using his new found nickname for me.
"Thanks dad. And besides I could have stayed at Ope's." I said. Here we go.
He gave me a look. "Something going on there." He said.
"As a matter of fact there is." I said. I took a deep breath. "We're together." I blurted out.
Dad put his hand on my back and sighed. "It's fine. I just want you to be happy and clearly Opie makes you happy." Dad said.
"Thanks dad." I said. I looked at the time. "Crap. I'm late for work." I said. I ran down the hall to my bedroom to quickly get dressed. When I came back out, Dad was still sitting at the breakfast bar. "Are you not gonna drop me at the garage?" I asked him.
He shook his head. "Naw, I thought you could take yourself this morning." Dad said and I looked at him confused. Then he held up a set of car keys. "Happy birthday."
I took the car keys from him. "You got me a car?" I asked.
He nodded. "Yeah, Gem helped me pick it out. We figured it was time that we got you your own set of wheels."
I kissed Dad on his cheek. "Thanks Dad. Gotta go." I said.
Gemma POV
I was sitting in the office waiting on Bells. Tig was giving her the car that we'd picked out for her this morning in the process of making her think that she was gonna be late for work. But the plan was for her to show up and I was going to take her for a girls day with LuAnn. So while I waited for her, I sat in the office looking out the window into the garage. Jax and Opie were working on a car, and he was extremely happy today. I wondered what had him in such a good mood.
Opie POV
I'd been a little sad last night, when Bells had decided to go home. She'd said that she wanted to be at the house this morning when her dad woke up so that she could tell him about us. I knew that she didn't want to keep it a secret. I mean after all, her mom's secrets are the reason that she didn't grow up in Charming. The more that I'd thought about that, I'd realized that if she had grown up in Charming I probably would have married her instead of Donna and she would be Kenny and Ellie's mom.
I'd been whistling and humming in the garage since I'd gotten there. I knew at some point Jax was gonna wanna know what was going on. And it didn't take long. "Okay. What is going on with you?" He asked.
"What? I can't be in a good mood." I said.
"Of course you can. But your never this happy." He said. "Your only this happy when… Bells was over at your house last night wasn't she?"
I smiled at him. "Yeah." I said.
"Something going on there?" He asked me.
"You could say that. I realized that she and I have this amazing connection. Then Ellie asked her if we were dating. Then the next thing I know… she's calling me her boyfriend." I told him.
He pointed the wrench that he had in his hand at me. "You better treat her good. That's my cousin." He said.
"You got nothing to worry about." I said.
We were pulled from our thoughts by a silver mustang pulling into the parking lot and parking next to Gem's car. Jax and I stepped out of the garage to see who it was. I was surprised when I saw Bells climb out of the car. I walked over to her. "Nice car." I said to her, smiling.
"Thanks. It was a birthday present from Dad." She said.
I leaned down and kissed her. "Happy birthday babe." I said.
"Thanks baby." She said.
We both turned and started walking back towards the garage. That's when we noticed Gem step out of the office. "Bells! Come on your late." Gemma yelled.
Bells rolled her eyes. "Coming Aunt Gem." Bells said. She looked up at me as we stopped in front of the office. "I'll see you later." She said and I nodded.
Bella POV
"Morning Aunt Gem." I said when I stepped in the office.
"Happy Birthday sweetheart." Aunt Gem said.
I looked up from my spot in the doorway to see Aunt Gem and Uncle Clay standing in front of the desk. Uncle Clay was holding a cake. "You guys did this for me?" I asked.
They nodded. "You know, your dad's not the only one who missed out on your birthdays." Aunt Gem said.
I walked over and looked at the cake. "Blow out the candles." Uncle Clay said. "Make a wish." I looked back down at the cake and blew the candles.
"What'd you wish for?" Aunt Gem asked.
I laughed. "A quiet birthday." I said turning and sitting my purse on the couch before turning back to them. "It seems like since I came to Charming that everything has been going a hundred miles a minute." I said. Aunt Gem nodded, fully understanding. "I mean, something good happened last night and I feel like I haven't been able to fully enjoy it." I said.
Aunt Gem walked over and hugged me. "What happened last night?" She asked me.
"Ope and I are together." I said.
Aunt Gem smiled at me then she looked at Uncle Clay who nodded. "Take today off. Come to the spa with me and LuAnn." She said.
"I don't know, Aunt Gem." I told her. I'd never been one of those girly-girls.
"Every girl deserves to be pampered on her birthday." She said.
Clay POV
I was sitting in the office when Tig came in a little while later. "Where's Bells?" He asked me.
"She went to the spa with Gem and LuAnn." I said. He nodded. He walked over and sat on the couch. "Hear you gained a potential son-in-law."
Tig glared at me. "Too soon for that kind of talk… but yes Bells and Opie are together." He said.
"You knew that it was a possibility as much time as she's been spending over there." I said.
He nodded. "Yeah I know." He said.
I could sense that something was on his mind. "Something on your mind?" I asked.
"Lately, I've just been thinking about how much I've missed out on in Bella's life." He said.
I nodded. "I know, but she's here now." I said to him. "You know, I remember everytime Gem would get a letter from her before the letters stopped coming."
Tig looked up at me surprised at what I said. "What letters?" He asked me.
"Gem was in Forks the day that Bells was born. Renee had made Gem Bella's godmother. When Gemma would write her letters and when Bells was old enough to start writing her own letters she would send Gem letters. Then one day the letters just stopped." I told him.
"Did Charlie know about the letters?" He asked me.
"I don't know." I said.
"I'm gonna take a drive." He said.
Bella POV
"Thanks for this Aunt Gem." I said as we were riding back to the clubhouse.
"Oh your welcome baby." She said. "Have you heard from anyone in Forks, yet?"
I shook my head. "No. Charlie's at the station so I probably wont hear from him until tonight. And Jacob… Jacob's mad at me." I said as I thought about my conversation with Jacob.
***Flashback***
I was sitting on the couch waiting for Dad to get home and decided that it was finally time to call Jacob. I grabbed my cell phone and called Jacob. He answered on the second ring. "Hey Bells." He said.
"Hey. How's things?" I asked him.
"Their okay. When are you coming home?" He asked me.
I sighed. "That's what I was calling about." I said.
"What's going on Bells? I can hear it in your voice."
"Jake, I'm not coming home. I've decided to stay in Charming." I said.
"What? Your kidding right?" He said.
"No, Jake I'm not." I told him.
"Bells you don't even know these people. Their complete strangers to you. You need to come home." Jacob said.
"Jake, these people are my family. I'm sorry if your mad at me but I'm not coming home." I said before I hung up. I sat my phone down on the table and I just cried. That was how Dad found me.
"What's wrong?" Dad asked me.
I wiped my eyes. "I called Jacob, my best friend in Forks and told him that I wasn't coming back." I said.
"He didn't take it well, I'm guessing."
I shook my head. "No."
Dad pulled me into his side and wrapped his arms around me. "It's okay. Everything is going to be okay." Dad said.
***End Flashback***
When we got back to the clubhouse, Aunt Gem and I walked into the office to see Uncle Clay sitting there. He had a look of worry on his face. "What's wrong?" Aunt Gem asked him.
"I might have screwed up." He said looking at us.
"What do you mean?"
"I might have told Tig about the letters you two used to write to each other." Clay said.
Aunt Gem and I looked at each other. "Where's dad?" I asked.
"Said he was gonna take a ride and clear his head."
"I'm gonna head home." I said. "I'll see you later." Aunt Gem nodded.
When I pulled into my driveway, I saw Dad's bike. I climbed out of my car and made my way inside. When I walked in, Dad was sitting on the couch with a handful of letters in his hand. I walked in and sat in the chair beside him. "Clay told you about the letters." I said.
He nodded. "Why didn't you tell me?" He asked.
"Because at the time, Charlie didn't know about the letters… still doesn't. I guess it was a way of keeping Aunt Gem close. I wasn't purposely hiding them I just… I don't know Dad. Mom had left and I guess part of me felt like Aunt Gem was the only thing I had left of her." I said looking down at the floor.
"I can understand that. I just wish that you would have told me." Dad said.
"I know. I'm sorry Dad." I said.
"It's okay kid."
MEANWHILE BACK IN FORKS…
Edward POV
The whole family was pissed at me that I'd broken up with Bella. Especially Alice. She'd been so pissed that I'd just pushed her away the way that I did. Alice had made me promise to find her and beg her forgiveness and ask her to take me back. So here I was heading over to her house to beg. When I pulled up to the house, I saw Bella's truck and Charlie's police cruiser. I got out of my car and made my way to the door. I knocked on the front door. A few minutes later, Charlie opened the door. "Cullen." He said.
"Hi Chief Swan, is Bella here?" I asked, knowing that she was probably inside.
"She doesn't live here anymore." Charlie said.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"I mean, she doesn't live here anymore. And I don't think that it's in her best interest for you to go looking for her. Especially since you're the reason that she left." Charlie said slamming the door in my face.
I went back to my car and called Alice. "Well?" She asked me.
"She moved." I said.
"What do you mean she moved?" She asked me.
"Charlie said that I'm the reason that she moved." I told her.
"Did he say where she moved to?" She asked me.
"No." I said.
"I'll see if I can track her phone. Just head back here for now." She said and hung up. I knew that I had to find Bella. I would do whatever it took to find her. Once I did… she was coming home.
Bella POV
Ope had called and asked if I'd go pick the kids up from school. I knew that they'd be excited to see me. They always were. When I pulled up to the school, Kenny and Ellie were waiting for me. "Hey guys." I said as they climbed in the car.
"Cool car, Bella." Kenny said.
I smiled at them. "Thanks. It was a birthday present." I told them. I pulled out of the school parking lot and headed towards Ope's house.
"Is dad working late tonight?" Ellie asked.
"I'm not sure Elle, why?"
"Well, I was hoping that he could take us to get you a birthday present." Ellie said.
"Well, we can stop by the garage and ask him." I told her. I knew that Gemma was throwing me a birthday party. She'd been asking me questions all week about from everything colors to my favorite cake flavor. The only thing I'd made Gemma promise was that there wouldn't be any skanks. She agreed.
I drove through town and made my was over to the Clubhouse. When I pulled in, the parking lot was full. I parked my car next to Gemma's and the three of us got out and made our way over. I saw Jax and Opie standing by the boxing ring. We walked over. "Hey guys." I said getting their attention.
Opie turned and smiled at me. He put his arm around my shoulders and pulled me into his side kissing the top of my head. "Hey babe." He said. He looked at Kenny and Ellie.
"Hey dad." They said.
"Gemma's inside waiting for you." Ope said and I nodded. "I got them." He told me talking about the kids.
I nodded. "I'll be back." I said, turning and making my way inside the clubhouse. When I stepped inside the clubhouse, there were decorations everywhere. Aunt Gem was sitting at the bar with Dad and Uncle Clay. I walked over. "Wow." I said.
"You like it?" Aunt Gem asked.
I nodded. "You don't think that it's too much?" I asked her.
She shook her head. "Nope. I think it's perfect." She said. "So Clay and I talked to Opie and we're gonna keep the kids tonight so that guys can have some time to yourselves." Gem said.
"I don't need to hear this." Dad said getting up and walking outside.
I smiled at them. "Thanks." I said. The prospect handed me a couple of beers and I made my way back outside. I took in the sight in front of me. Everything was perfect. I had all of my Charming family here and some of the extended Charters had come.
Later on that night after we'd eaten and done cake, Opie and I said our goodbyes. Dad said that he'd loaded all my presents into my trunk and I thanked him. Opie and told Gem that we'd get the kids in the morning. She smiled at me. Opie climbed on his bike and told me that he'd follow me to the house. I smiled and nodded at him. I gave him a quick kiss and went to get in my car. It was a short drive from the clubhouse to Ope's house.
When we got to the house, Ope and I went inside and he grabbed us a couple beers out of the fridge. While he did that, I went into the living room and sat on the couch. It didn't take long before he came and joined me. He handed me a beer. "Thanks." I said.
"Your welcome. I have a birthday present for you." He said. I looked up at him. He pulled a small wrapped box from the inside of his Kutte and handed it to me.
"Ope, you didn't have to get me anything." I said taking the box from him.
"Well, when I saw it, I immediately thought of you." He said. "Go on, open it."
I smiled at him before tearing the paper off and opening the box. It was beautiful. It was a sterling silver necklace that had a crow on it. "Ope… it's beautiful." I said.
"I know that we're just starting… you and me… but I wanted to get you something so that everyone would know that your mine." He said.
I leaned over and kissed him. "I love it. Will you put it on me?" I asked. He nodded taking the box from me. He took the necklace out of the box. I turned on the couch so that he could put the necklace on me.
"There." He said.
I looked down and saw the simple crow sitting against my chest. I turned back and faced Ope. "What do you think?" I asked him.
He pulled me into his lap and held me. "I think it's perfect." He said.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and he leaned in and kissed me. This was how Ope and I stayed for the rest of the night until we went to bed.
Jax POV
Once Bells and Ope had left for the night, I knew that Ma wouldn't care if I left and headed up to the hospital to check on Abel. Things were about to get busy so everyone was taking the quiet and enjoying it. There was an ATF agent in town so Clay and I knew that it was only a matter of time before he showed up at the clubhouse. When I stepped off the elevator, I saw Tara standing at the nurses station. I walked over. "Hey." I said.
"Hey." She said.
"How's the kid today?" I asked her.
"Holding strong." She said.
I nodded. "That's good." I said.
She grabbed my hand and pulled me into a room. I looked into her eyes. "Jax, I'm sorry about everything. I'm sorry about the way that I left." She said.
I nodded. "I know." I said. I pulled her into my arms and just held her. And there it was… All my feelings that I still had for her were still there.
