Chapter 12

Bella POV

When we got back to the clubhouse, Ope led me straight back to the dorm room that we were staying in. I went straight to the bathroom. I needed to clean up and wash off the blood. I turned on the shower to let the water start heating up. When I turned around, Ope was standing in the doorway. I looked up at him. "What?" I asked.

He closed the gap between us and put his hands on each side of my face. "You can't do that anymore." He said. "If something would have happened…" He trailed off.

I wrapped my arms around his waist. "I did it because if something had happened…I didn't want you to see me like that." I said.

"I can't lose you." He said.

I nodded. I leaned up and kissed him. This kiss was different. There was a different kind of desire in the kiss. Ope dropped his hands to my hips and pulled me as close as he could get me. I slid my arms up his chest and wrapped them around his neck. When breathing became necessary we both pulled back. "You're not gonna lose me." I said and he nodded. "I need to clean up." I said. I stripped and stepped into the shower and closed my eyes letting the warm water wash over me. A minute later, I feel Ope's hands on my hips. When I opened my eyes, Ope was staring at me. "Penny for your thoughts?"

"Have I told you lately that your beautiful?" He said. I shook my head. I ran my hands up his stomach and chest to his shoulders. "Yeah well you are." He said before he leaned down and kissed me. He picked me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist before he turned us around and pushed me up against the shower wall. He moved from my lips to my jaw to my neck to hitting the spot on my collarbone that he knew drove me crazy.

"Ope…" I breathed out.

"What is it baby… tell me." He whispered in my ear.

"I need you." I said. As soon as the last word left my mouth I felt him thrust in me. Thrust after thrust. "God Ope! That feels so good. You feel so good." I said.

"Tell me… was it the killing or was it the kisses on your collarbone?" He asked me.

I could feel my orgasm building. "A little of both I think." I panted out. "God Ope… I'm so close." I said. Soon after we both reached our climax.

Once Ope and I had finished with our shower and we'd gotten dressed, we made our way back out to the barroom where I quickly found my Dad and Fawn. They both hugged me. "God! You scared the crap out of me… you know that." My dad said.

"I'm sorry Dad. Really I am. It's just…if it had gone bad I didn't want you or Ope to see me like that. You understand right?" I said.

He nodded. Of course he understood. Dad was the SAA for the Sons. It was in his job description to kill people. He put his hand on my cheek. "I'm just glad your okay." He said.

"Thanks Dad. Where's Alec?" I asked looking around for my brother.

"Hap and Koz already left to escort him to Canada." Dad said. I knew what that meant. It meant that they'd taken him to board a ship that would take him to Ireland.

"Yeah." I said.

THE NEXT DAY…

The following night, Ope and I were sitting on the couch at the house after putting the kids to bed. I snuggled into his side. "Glad to be home?" He asked me.

I nodded against his chest. "So glad."

"I'm glad babe. Have you got your stuff packed over at your Dad's?" He asked me.

"Honestly, I haven't even thought about it. I was so focused on everything that was happening in Washington that I hadn't thought about packing my stuff." I told him.

"Well the guys have some stuff to do tomorrow so why don't I help you pack?" Ope asked me.

I looked up at him and smiled. "That sounds perfect." I told him. "Jax wants me to swing by the hospital and check on Abel for him. I told him that I would."

"That's cool. I know that he appreciates it." Ope said.

Gemma POV

"She seems okay, right?" I asked Clay. When everyone had arrived back from Washington, Bella had seemed okay but I was still worried about her. I knew that it couldn't have been easy dealing with Renee but then I'd found out that she'd had to deal with Colleen as well. The whole situation couldn't have been easy to handle. I was worried that she might have a breakdown coming.

"Gem, she's fine. I mean obviously the trip was hard for her. She had to face her mom, her brother and her grandfather… but she's tough. She'll get through it." Clay said.

"Her grandfather?" I asked him.

"Yeah, apparently Tig's Dad was behind everything. He'd been blackmailing Renee and Colleen for years." Clay told me.

"How's Tig dealing with it all?" I asked.

"Best he can, I guess. He was just relieved that Bells didn't get hurt. I think that it might be a good idea for you to have one of your dinners this week." Clay said.

"Sure thing baby." I said. This was some shit storm that we'd ended up in. On the one hand I was glad that everyone had made it home safe but another part of me couldn't help but wonder if we were actually done with all of this. "I'll get with Bells and LuAnn tomorrow and get them to help me plan the menu." I told him climbing into bed.

"Sounds good." He said drifting off to sleep.

The next morning I was sitting in the office work on some paperwork when Bells came walking in. "Hey Aunt Gem." She said.

"Hey baby. How you doing?" I asked her.

"I'm good. I mean I wish I had gotten to say bye to my brother but I get it. They had to get him out before the Volturi got word that he was still in the country." She told me.

I leaned back in my chair and looked at her. "Why didn't you tell us the truth about him?" I asked her.

She sighed. "It was complicated at the time. Alec had mentioned the name Aro to me but I had no clue who he was. When everything first happened, all he told me was that The Volturi was bad news and that I needed to get as far away from Forks as possible. When I got home from talking to him, Charlie shocked me by telling me that he wasn't my father. The timing just seemed perfect for me to be able to get out of Forks. I promise I wasn't intentionally trying to keep the truth about Alec from anybody but I also knew that I had to find a way to protect my brother." Bells said.

Everything that she was saying made perfect sense. Even though I didn't approve of the decisions that Renee had made in her life, I knew deep down that I would have done anything that I could to protect my sister. "What's he like? Alec?" I asked.

"He's my best friend in the whole world. Well at least he was until Renee took off and took him with her. I still don't understand why she left me behind. And I never will. It was the one thing that I didn't ask her. But what I do know is that Alec and I are now free from her. I'm just scared that Caius is going to realize what happened and he's gonna come after me." She said.

"Who's Caius?" I asked her.

"He's Aro's number 2. Dad doesn't think it's gonna happen but I'm still a little bit scared." She said and I nodded.

"How's your dad dealing with it all?" I asked her. Tig was tough but I knew how he felt about family.

"He's…He's hanging in there. He's feels completely betrayed. Not just by his Dad but by Renee and Colleen too. While we were in Washington we found out that Fawn used to babysit me. He was completely shocked when we found out that Fawn was at SAMTAC and that we knew each other. I don't know Gem, I just feel like there's a piece of the puzzle that we're missing." She said.

"It's okay baby girl. We'll figure it out." I told her.

Right as we finished our conversation, Ope walked into the office. "Hey you ready?" He asked Bells.

"Yeah. Let's go." She said. "We're headed over to Dad's to pack up my stuff." She told me.

"Congrats baby. I'm happy for you." I told her. And I generally was happy for her. She and Ope were good together. They balanced each other out. It made me even happier that she was the complete opposite of my sister.

Bella POV

When Ope and I pulled up at Dad's I noticed that there was a car in his driveway. "Who's car is that?" Ope asked me.

"No idea." I said. We climbed off the bike and made our way inside. "Dad! I know you're here." I yelled when we walked in.

A few minutes later, he came walking out of the back of the house with a blonde following him. "You've got to be fucking kidding me." I said.

"Babe." I heard Ope say from behind me.

"Awww what's the matter? Scared?" The blonde said from behind my dad.

I lunged at her. Ope couldn't have stopped me even if he tried. "Fuck!" I heard Dad say.

I started swinging at the girl. As soon as I'd seen her face I knew exactly who she was. It was Emily Duncan. She was a regular Crow Eater at the clubhouse. But when Dad and I had moved into the house, we'd had one rule. No Crow Eaters at the house. I was still swinging at her when I felt arms wrap around my waist pulling me off of her. The next thing I know, I'm being pulled into my bedroom. When I turned around, I saw Ope standing there and he didn't look happy. "What!" I said, still feeling my anger.

He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me to him. "I know that your upset right now, but your Dad is a grown man." He told me.

"I know that. It's not the fact that he had company. It's the particular company that he had." I said.

"Let's just pack… okay?" He said.

I nodded. "Yeah okay." I said. Ope and I started moving about the room packing up my stuff. Not that there was a lot. But it was just sentimental.

After about two hours we had everything pack up when Ope said that he was gonna give me a few minutes with my Dad while he went to get the truck. I walked out of my bedroom to see Dad sitting at the breakfast bar drinking coffee. I walked into the kitchen and fixed myself a cup. "Better now?" He asked me when I turned toward him.

"Not exactly. Why'd you bring her here?" I asked.

"Didn't feel like staying around the clubhouse last night." Dad said.

"So the rule we had…" I trailed off.

"Figured it didn't matter with you moving to Ope's." Dad said and it broke my heart a little.

"Yeah but I've haven't moved yet. Look I get it Dad, the Washington stuff was fucked up. I get you needed a release but her…" I said.

"I know. I'm sorry kid." Dad said never looking up at me. "I heard from Fawn. She's down in San Francisco with Dawn."

"That's good." I said.
