A/N: Okay slight time jump in this chapter. It's more of a filler chapter and full of flashbacks. I was reading a review this morning and was given an idea. Let me know what you think…should Bella have connections to the IRA. Let me know your thoughts.
Chapter 19
Bella POV
I'd been home from the hospital for a couple of weeks. Both Gem and I had been on edge. Clay had been sticking close to Gem and Dad and Tig never left me on my own. A couple days after I'd come home we'd convinced Gemma to have a family dinner. Ope and I had decided that we didn't want to wait to tell our family that I was pregnant. I remember when I'd gotten and situated.
***Flashback***
Ope had just helped me get situated on the couch. He'd gone to the kitchen to get me some water so that I could take a pain pill. "We're gonna have to move." He said, walking out of the kitchen.
"I know. I've also been thinking about something." I said as he handed me the glass. "I've been thinking about taking some online classes."
He sat down on the other end of the couch. "I think that it's a good idea. It'll give you something to. I mean, with the kids gone and you being pregnant I think that you'll get bored being at the clubhouse or even here." He said.
I loved this man, more than I even thought possible. "I love you, you know that?" I said.
He brought his hand up to my cheek and stroked it. "I know. And I love you."
***End of Flashback***
Ope managed to surprise me everyday. Gemma had been a little surprised when we'd asked her to host a family dinner. But then when we told her that we had some good news to share with the family she was more than happy to do it. The day before the family dinner, Ope and I had driven up to Mary's to see the kids. We wanted them to be the first ones to know about the new addition. Needless to say they were excited. Ellie wanted to know when they could come home. I felt bad that we didn't have an exact time frame of when that could happen.
I thought about the family dinner. Surprisingly, there had been no drama.
***Flashback***
Ope and I had arrived at Gem's. He headed out to the backyard where all the guys were. I'd stayed in the kitchen with Tara, Gem and Luann. "How was your trip yesterday?" Gem asked me raising an eyebrow at me.
"It was good. We went up to Mary's to see the kids since I wasn't able to see them before they went up there." I told her.
"That's good." Gem said. "Grandpa called the other day, he's wants us to come for the holidays." I turned and leaned against the counter, staring at her. "What?"
"Who all does he want to come?" I asked.
"Me, Clay, Jax, Tara, Abel, you, Ope and the kids." She said.
"He know about Mom?" I asked.
"He knows that she hasn't been around. That's all he needs to know." She said.
"I'll talk to Ope about it. Let you know." I said. She nodded. I wasn't sure if I even wanted to go to Oregon for Thanksgiving. And hell, I hadn't seen Grandma Rose since I was little.
"Let's get this on the table." Gem said. We all started grabbing food and making our way to the backyard for dinner. We sat the food on the table. "Dinner." Gem said.
We all took our seats. I sat in my usual spot between Dad and Ope. Everyone started fixing their plates. "Before everyone digs in, Ope and I have something that we want to say." I said and everyone looked at me. I pulled one of the ultrasound pictures out of my back pocket. "We're pregnant." I said, waiting for reactions.
My dad was the first one to say anything. He pulled me into a hug. "A baby?" He said.
I nodded. "Yeah, you okay with that Grandpa?" I said joking with him.
"Shut your mouth." He said.
Everyone cheered. I passed the ultrasound picture around for everyone to see. I was glad that everyone had taken the news well. "Well seems to me that you guys are gonna need a bigger house." Aunt Gemma said.
"Yeah we were talking about that a couple days ago." I said, as I fixed my plate. "I'm uh…I'm also gonna take some online classes with Charming Community College." I told them.
"I think it's a good idea. Any idea what you want to major in?" She asked me.
"I was think Business. That way I could help more at the garage." I said. I looked over at Uncle Clay.
"I think it's a good idea sweetheart." He said using my nickname that he'd given me. "It's a family business after all." He smiled at me.
***End of Flashback***
The first couple of days after the family dinner, were a little rough. The morning sickness had begun to set in. It was so bad that I couldn't even get out of bed. Tara had called and asked me how I was feeling. I told her that I felt like death. She told me that if it continued for me to come into the hospital. And I did. She'd ended up giving me some fluids and nausea medicine and by the time that I'd left I felt better.
The boys had been busy. For about a week the only people that I really saw were Tara and Gem. They were trying to find out more information about Zobelle and Weston. I really thought that I should tell the guys about Weston but Gemma said that if I did that we'd be playing right into their hands. Gemma had been really jumpy since her attack. Tara and I had tried to convince her to talk to someone but she kept saying that we were all that she needed.
One particular day I'd been sitting at the park where I'd met Ope reading a book and drinking a milkshake, when this guy approached me. "Miss?" He said.
I looked up at him, skeptical. "Can I help you?" I asked.
"Yeah, I'm trying to find Teller-Morrow Auto. Can you direct me?" He said. I nodded. I quickly gave him directions to the garage. There was something off about him. And his accent. I recognized it but because of my stupid pregnancy brain I couldn't figure it out.
Opie POV
I'd been worried about Bells. She seemed okay physically but I worried that she was going to breakdown at any moment. We didn't have any leads on where Donna was hiding and that worried me. I was scared that she was going to come back. My biggest worry was that something was going to happen to Bells. I hadn't been sleeping. I guess it was my worry getting the best of me. The only thing that I wanted was for this to be over and for the kids to come home and for everything to go back to normal. But what would that even look like.
Shit with the Club was going sideways. Things with Jax and Clay were tense and I had no idea why. They had been for a while. Now the Irish had us running assembled guns. They tried to make it seem like they were doing it because of all the ATF bullshit. But I knew that it had to be something else.
Ever since we'd sent the kids to stay with Ma, Pop had been spending a lot of time up at the cabin. I knew that he was on a bender but I hoped as soon as things leveled out that he'd dial back on the drinking. It wasn't good for his health. I wondered if he knew why Jax and Clay were butting heads.
Bells and I had been looking at houses. Bells had found a couple that she liked but there hadn't been a single one that she'd loved. I knew that at some point we'd find the house that was going to be our home. I wanted to do something for Bells but there were two people that I needed to talk to first. The first one being Tara. She'd become Bells' best friend, not to mention her doctor.
I found Tara at the hospital. She was standing at the nurses station looking at a chart. "Hey." I said.
"Hey. You looking for me?" She asked with a smile.
"Yeah. Needed to talk to you." I said and she nodded. She handed the nurse the chart and led me into a small waiting room.
"What's going on?" She asked me.
"I want to give Bells my crow." I told her.
"You telling me this because you want to know what I think… or are you asking from a medical stand point." She said.
I thought for a moment. "Both I guess."
"Opie, I've known you for as long as I've known Jax. Bells loves you. She loves your kids as if they were her own. Yes, you and Donna were good for a while but Opie… Bells is made for this life. Is that where some of the best Old Ladies come from. Not to mention, she's a fighter. She's gonna want this." Tara said. "As far as from a medical stand point, as long as the crow isn't too big, then I see no problem with it."
I hugged her. "Thanks Tara. Not just for this but for being friends with Bells. You know, when she first came to Charming…I was the first person that she met. And the things progressed and the next thing I know, I'm falling in love with her. With Donna, I couldn't tell her anything related to the club because she'd freak out. But with Bells…She wants to know. She wants to know what's going on. She wants to know the good, the bad and the ugly. And no matter what it is…she strives." I said.
"It's probably the Irish in her." Tara said with a smile.
"Thanks."
"Anytime."
Bells POV
I was laying in bed that night when Ope came in. "Hey." He said walking in. He looked tired. I sat up.
"Hey. I thought it wasn't gonna be late." I said.
"I know. I'm sorry. I had something that I had to do." He said. I nodded. "I have something that I want to talk to you about."
I nodded. "Sure what's on your mind?" I asked.
"I know that things haven't exactly been easy the last couple of months, but the one thing that I do know is that I love you. I love you so much. I love how much you care about Kenny and Ellie and I know that this little bean is gonna have just as much love." He said placing a hand on my stomach. "I know that we're not ready for marriage but there is something I want to do."
I placed a hand on top of his on my stomach. "What's that?"
He placed his free hand on my cheek. "I want you to get my crow." He said. I loved him so much. I even think that I found more reasons to love more everyday. Instead of answering him I did the only thing that I could think to do. I leaned up and kissed him. His hand that was on my cheek slid around to the back of my neck. He gently pulled me closer to him and deepened the kiss. I leaned up and climbed into his lap, never breaking contact. I needed him. I needed him more than I had ever needed him. He pulled away briefly. "Did the doctor clear you?" He asked me.
"Yeah. She said as long as I'm not in pain." I said, before our lips connected again. He grabbed the bottom of my shirt and pulled it over my head. He rubbed his hands up and down my back. "I love you so much Ope." I said.
"I love you too." He said. He picked me up and turned us so I was laying on the bed. He hovered over me and brushed my hair out of my face. "Your so beautiful Bells…I don't know what I did to deserve you." He said, leaning down and kissing me.
I was about to say something when his phone rang. He groaned, leaning back and pulling his phone out of his pocket. "This better be important." He said into the phone. "Yeah alright, we'll be there." He said before closing it and shoving it back in his pocket. "Come on we gotta go."
I stood up from the bed and threw on a pair of jeans and my boots. "What's going on Ope?" I asked.
"Not real sure babe. Clay said to meet him at the new warehouse." He said and I nodded as we walked out of the house.
Ope climbed on his bike. He handed me his helmet and I put it on. I climbed on behind him. Ope started his bike and we pulled out of the driveway.
A little while later, we pulled up to the warehouse. Ope killed the engine to the bike. I climbed off, taking the helmet off and handing it too him. Ope followed. We walked over to the door of the warehouse. Dad, Jax and Clay were waiting for us. I hugged my dad. "What's going on?" I asked.
"We have a present for you Princess." Uncle Clay said.
I looked at them confused for a minute. "You found her?" I asked. Dad nodded. Hap's all set up waiting for you. I nodded. I turned and looked at Ope. "You okay with this?" I asked him.
Opie POV
They'd found Donna. I knew what came next, especially if Hap was inside. I also knew that Bells needed this. She needed answers and she needed retribution. I pulled her to me and wrapped my arms around her. "You need this. It'll be fine." I told her. I wasn't sure what else I was supposed to say.
We walked into the warehouse. Donna was chained to the ceiling by her wrists. "Ope, good. Can you get them to let me go." Donna said.
Bells moved from behind me to my side. "Not happening." Bells said.
"How are you still alive?" Donna asked.
"That's not gonna happen. You don't get to ask questions anymore." Bells said. "Now I can't physically cause you pain right now but I know quite a few guys here that wouldn't mind taking a shot at you." Bells took a step closer and stopped.
"What? You scared?" Donna asked.
"Of you? God no. I just don't want to risk my pregnancy." Bells told her.
Donna went from having a wicked grin to looking extremely pissed off. "Your pregnant? But that would mean that you were pregnant the entire time." Donna said. "There's no way that a baby could have survived all of that."
Bells looked at Hap and nodded. He grabbed a knife and walked towards Bells. "What did you drug me with?" Bells asked her.
"I don't know what it was. They didn't tell me. All I knew was that it was a sedative." Donna said.
Bella POV
I looked at Hap and nodded. He cut Donna with the knife. "You bitch." Donna yelled.
"What does he want?" I asked her.
"The Club. What else would he want?" Donna said.
I knew that once this was said and done that everyone was going who we were talking about. "Why?" I asked.
"Why do you care? The only thing you wanted was my family." Donna said. I nodded at Hap again. He cut her again.
I ignored what she said and continued. "Why do you hate me?" I asked as I felt Ope's hand on my lower back.
"Why wouldn't I hate you? I came back to town to try and work things out with Ope. Get my family back. But instead I find that he's moved on to you. And if that's not reason enough, my kids absolutely love you." Donna said. I nod at Hap again. He cuts her again. "You're the perfect step-ford wife." I crossed my arms. "I bet Gemma just loves you."
I laughed at her comment. "Why wouldn't she love me? I'm her niece. Her flesh and blood." I told her. "Now, why don't we talk about something else." I said coldly. Donna glared at me. "How did you get mixed up with him?"
Donna let out a sigh. "When I left Charming, I headed up to Modesto. I had friends there. I heard things that I shouldn't have heard. Things that I guess deep down I always knew. I overheard someone say that things were about to get bad for the SONS. There's a big player making a name for himself in the black market world. Anywho, he's been attacking MC's all over the world. He sets up shop, starts making black market deals with rival MC's to take out the ones that he targets." Donna said.
"Guy got a name?" I heard Clay ask.
"His name is Ethan Zobelle." Donna said.
Dad must of walked up and stood beside me. "Time to end it, pumpkin." He said.
"Despite what you may think about me, I am sorry that things are where they are." I told Donna. I looked over at Hap and gave him one final nod. He walked over to Donna and slit her throat. I turned around and buried my face in Ope's chest.
Once I felt like I could breathe again, I let go of Ope and I walked outside. I inhaled the cool air of the night. I walked over and sat on Opie's bike and waited. I wasn't sure how long I'd been sitting there when Ope walked out. Even though I knew that he loved me, I knew that this was hard for him. I mean after all she was the mother of his children…once upon a time she was the love of his life. "You okay?" I asked him, holding my hand out for him.
He grabbed my hand and I pulled him to me. He rested his arms on my shoulders and I looked up at him. "You know, I thought that it was going to be hard, you know. But I watched you in there confronting her, and I realized that she's caused more hurt than I than even I thought possible. I was scared that you were going to get close to her and she was going to figure out a way to hurt you." Ope said.
I wrapped my arms around his waist. "I'm okay. We're okay." I said. He nodded.
"Let's go home." I smiled at him. For the first time in months I felt…peace.
