Chapter 44

Bella POV

It had been just over a year since the guys had been locked up. Things with Ope had been hard. He was so scared that if I got pregnant that something would happen to me. He wasn't willing to look at the possibility that something good could come from it. We were slowly falling back into our routine but neither one of us had brought up the conversation of a baby since.

Lowen had come to see us and told us that she'd gotten the reports from the jail and she'd talked to the judge and gotten the official release date of when the guys would be getting out. Everyone was excited. That afternoon, I was sitting in the office working on paperwork, while Gemma had gone with Kozik to see Clay. I felt his presence before I saw him. I looked up from my paperwork at him. "I'm sorry." He said.

"For what?" I asked.

He walked over and sat on the couch before rubbing a hand over his face. "I know that you want this, but babe…ever since you walked into my life, it hasn't been the same. I don't even want to imagine my life without you in it. The two times that you have been kidnapped, I have gotten a glimpse at what my life would be like if you weren't in it. And I don't like it. I need you in my life. Kenny and Ellie need you in their life." Ope said.

I sat back in my chair watching the explanation that he gave me. I guess I could understand where he was coming from. Ever since I'd met Ope, I couldn't imagine not being around him. Our relationship had happened quick in my opinion, but I didn't care. I loved Ope. And I loved Kenny and Ellie. "I love you, Opie." I said.

He stood up, walking over to me and kissing me. Maybe things would be better now.

Throughout the next couple of weeks, Tara, Lyla and I focused on finishing up my wedding plans. Opie and I would be getting married the day that the guys came home and we were getting married down at the Wahewa reservation. Tara would be my maid of honor. Ellie the flower girl. And Kenny would be the ring bearer. Opie told me that they were invited some business associates and I gave him a worried look. He told me that everything would be fine and for me not to worry.

I was worried about Tara. She'd come to see me shortly after Thomas was born. She told me that she needed to confide in someone and that she couldn't talk to Gemma about it. I briefly looked at her confused before I told her to continue. She'd told me that she'd found some letters in Jax's bag when they'd come back from Ireland. From a woman named Maureen Ashby. I knew the name. Jax had told me about her. She had been John's mistress in Ireland and they had a kid together. She told me that in the letters, John had told Maureen all of his darkest secrets. Confiding in her that he suspected that Clay and Gemma were having an affair…that someone was out to get him. I told her to hide the letters and to not mention them to anyone. She told me that she didn't know what to do with the information. I told her that we should wait until Jax was home so that we could talk to him about them together.

As the final months progressed and we got closer to not only my wedding but the guys' released I suddenly realized that things were going to be okay. I had Ope and the kids and soon the rest of our family would be home and things could go back to normal.

The other thing we had to look forward to was my graduation. It was in three weeks. I'd finally finished my degree program and I couldn't be happier. I was graduating with an Associate's degree in Business Administration. Gemma was happy. I think that deep down she was hoping to cut back on the time that she spent at the garage so that she could spend more time with Abel and Thomas.

All in all things were looking up.

A/N: I know. Short chapter. Just wanted to throw in a couple of filler chapters about what went on while the guys were inside. Next chapter we're diving in to Season 4 Episode 1. Hope you guys are enjoying the story.
