TDI. Chapter 15: Special. Whales, Clams and Campers
(Sunset Beach, Canada)
A large hotel area can be seen where many people are enjoying their time. Some children are building sandcastles while others play in the sea. Parents momentarily forget their work lives as they relish family time, and teenagers engage in various activities such as beach volleyball and surfing the impressive waves.
"Sunset Beach, a quite famous place due to its white sand, crystal-clear waters, and majestic waves that attract all kinds of surfers" narrates the voice of a teenage girl. The view now focuses on a teenager with an average build, a slightly sunburned tan complexion, dark curly blond hair forming an afro, and dark eyes. He is wearing only white swim trunks, accessorized with a necklace that appears to be made of black pearls.
At the moment, the boy is performing maneuvers well above the level of an average surfer, somehow managing to leap over the wave and stand on one hand on his board before returning to a normal stance and touching the wave as a water tunnel gradually forms.
A beautiful sunset with a boat sailing by comes into view. "Yep, that's life here, a true paradise no surfer wants to leave, hence the name of one of the most renowned hotels in the area, the Surfer's Paradise Ridgemount Resort" the girl's voice continues, showcasing the luxurious resort—a building/mansion seemingly made of glass, with golf areas, direct beach access, a pool, spa, gym, and many other amenities that seem fit for a millionaire. The view then shifts to a person dressed in a sailor clam costume approaching and heading straight for the golf area.
(Next morning)
The boy who was surfing, now seemingly in his work uniform, and another boy with tanned skin, probably from his time in the sun, green eyes, and styled red hair, are driving a golf cart when suddenly the steering wheel comes off, shocking and frightening them.
"Reef, hit the brakes" the boy with the afro tells the redhead, who is already doing so, but nothing works.
"They cut the brakes, Broseph" Reef responds to the now-identified Broseph, and they both scream before crashing into a tree, all under the watchful eye of the sailor clam.
(Later)
A man with a captain's hat, alongside the sailor clam, a brunette girl with tanned skin and pink lipstick wearing only a pink swimsuit, and a boy with light brown hair and tanned skin in yellow swim trunks are calmly sailing, deciding to raise the sails to take advantage of the winds. As they do, several sails reveal a caricatured whale with a #1 painted beside it, surprising the four as Reef and Broseph in their swimsuits look at their work, Reef's being dark red and showing a tattoo on his right pectoral.
They are accompanied by two really beautiful girls of average height: one with short blond hair, blue eyes, and tanned skin, wearing a pale yellow sleeveless fitted top with a circle on the chest area featuring what seems to be a white flower symbol, and a purple bikini bottom. The other girl has fair skin, long almond brown hair, violet eyes, and is wearing a very pale yellow two-piece bikini with violet edges, with the bottom resembling very short lycra shorts. Her accessories include a lilac flower in her hair, white earrings, and what appears to be a very expensive pearl necklace.
The four are laughing at what they did. "That'll teach them not to mess with us" says the blonde girl.
"Oh, come on, Fin, we could have done way more" the other girl complains to Fin. Her voice completely matches the narrator.
"Try pulling off a prank in a short time and I'll take your advice, Lo," Fin retorts to the now identified Lo.
(At the Surfer's Paradise reception)
A dark-skinned boy with short black hair, a chin beard, and wearing a violet and yellow polo shirt with lilac shorts adorned with yellow flowers heads to his post, greeting Emma, who returns the greeting. Surprisingly, the girl is at the hotel dressed as what appears to be a tavern waitress, her work uniform. The boy is about to sit down when he is engulfed by a green cloud, causing him to step away for fresh air, courtesy of some skunks, all of this under Emma's disgusted gaze.
"I just hope Johnny can get rid of the smell" Emma murmurs as she heads to the kitchen to take some orders.
"But as you saw" Lo's voice narrates once again as the sailor clam lies on a lounger only to fall into a sand hole, clearly another prank, "The Surfer's Paradise has a strong rivalry with The Shipowners, Captain Ron's hotel. So much so that once a year, they have a prank war to dominate the market, and unfortunately, I got dragged into this year's war" Lo concludes as the scene shifts to show her in her normal attire: a sleeveless yellow dress that reaches just above her knees and sandals, right now she is screaming and running in terror from several bees with a beehive stuck to her back.
(Opening - Stoked!)
~The summer's on~
~And I'll be living on the beach~
A sunset over the sea is shown before diving in for a second and then emerging with Broseph, Fin, and Reef in their swimsuits. Soon, the view shows Reef performing an aerial maneuver and landing on a wave.
~Left my shoes and all my troubles far away~
The view moves away from Reef to show Fin, Broseph, Lo, and Emma in front of him, with Emma's swimsuit consisting of a pale pink two-piece bikini. The redhead quickly loses her balance and falls into the water.
During the instrumental part of the song, Reef and Fin compete to see who is the better surfer, with Fin splashing water on the view, which then clears to show the blonde surfer riding the wave and being shot from the top while lying on her board.
With the wave covering the screen, a series of everyday events at the hotel are shown: Fin, dressed as a maid, carrying a lady to clean the ceiling; Fin, Emma, and Reef talking to the bus driver; a disheartened Lo petting a skunk without realizing it; Reef opening a door in the hotel's surf shop, only to have everything fall on him; Johnny watching as Broseph throws luggage backward without noticing he hit the hotel's mascot, a whale wearing lilac shorts with yellow flowers; Reef accidentally breaking a red surfboard, causing both halves to hit him in the face; and Emma as waitress, falling due to being distracted looking at a boy with physical similarities to Lo.
~Been waitin' all year to be here~
~To ride the wave with the water frontier~
~Time to go big or go home~
Returning to the lyrics, the rotating statue of the mascot holding a surfboard atop the hotel is shown before moving down to see the bus driver arriving and a view inside the building, showing various tourists, the mascot dancing, Johnny talking to a girl dressed as a pirate, and the boy who caught Emma's attention at the counter, ending in the aquarium where a shark and a yellow fish, strangely friends, are seen. The view moves forward until several bubbles cover it.
~And I ain't goin' home~
As the view clears, several surfboards are shown being taken one after another, and just as the last one is picked, we switch to see Broseph surfing.
~The summer's on (Sum-mer's on)~
~And I'll be living on the beach~
~Left my shoes and all my troubles far away (Far-a-way)~
The view changes again, showing the inside of a wave closing in, where Fin stands with a competitive look and a firm pose, then Reef strikes a strongman pose, Emma is trying to maintain her balance on her board, Broseph is meditating without a care in the world, Lo somehow managed to file her nails while sitting comfortably with several shopping bags on her board, the mascot is celebrating enthusiastically while waving purple pennants, and Johnny, whose swimsuit is a dark blue wetsuit with orange parts, just shrugs his shoulders and hands as if to say 'I don't know what pose to make.'
~'Cause summer's on (Sum-mer's on)~
~The Ocean's underneath my feet~
~And, if the sun is out, I'll ride the waves all day (Waves all daa-ay)~
We then switch to a blue background where each of the kids surfs, leaving a distinctive trail behind them that matches the design of their respective boards. The scene shows the teens surfing at sunset, with Emma finally managing to balance herself, and they all end up watching the sunset after a day of work and surfing.
(Front desk of the Surfer's Paradise)
"You better bring good news, Baumer" says a very tall man with fair skin and short brown hair, looking at the pond without showing his face. He's wearing a very expensive black suit, and his voice commands respect.
"Everything is going as planned, Mr. Ridgemount. Our special guests will arrive at sunset today, and we have managed to repel Captain Ron's most troublesome pranks" informs Andrew Baumer, a man in his mid-thirties with short blond hair, tanned skin, and blue eyes, dressed in the hotel's characteristic polo shirt, black pants held by a black belt with a gold buckle, and black shoes.
"Good, but don't neglect the other tourists staying at the hotel. We're in prank war season, and we won't let the self-proclaimed captain dominate the market this year. There's a lot to lose if the special guests give a bad rating after their stay" the hotel chain owner responds, his voice a bit calmer.
"Understood, sir. I'll make sure the next two days are excellent" Baumer promises confidently, but just as he finishes, a sound of something hitting the glass walls makes them both turn to see two large white splashes prominently displayed. In the distance, they see Captain Ron laughing with his crew while continuing to shoot mayonnaise from the cannons they carry.
"Hey, Ridgemount, looks like something happened to your windows" Ron mocks through his ship's loudspeakers so they can hear him clearly. This undoubtedly earns a furious scream from the Surfer's Paradise owner. The man certainly has good lungs, but instead of scaring the captain, it makes him laugh even louder.
"That's it, Baumer, focus on cleaning that mess off the windows before sunset and pull off pranks so heavy that Ron won't show his face for the next decade, now!" Ridgemount roars, putting his employee on high alert.
"U-understood, s-," but he couldn't finish due to his boss' impatience.
"I SAID NOW!" and with that roar, Baumer runs off to call the teenagers working with him this summer.
(Locker room / meeting area)
"Alright, guys, you better stop being lazy as usual. This evening, very important guests will arrive at the hotel, so we'll be in V.V.V.V.V.V.V.V.I.P mode while pranking Captain Ron as much as possible. This is my chance for a promotion, so don't screw it up" Baumer informs the six teenagers in front of him, to their annoyed groans. Every time Baumer gets like this, it means a huge workload, much more than usual.
"Oh, come on, man, who could be so important to be in hyper-exclusive mode?" Reef voiced the complaints of the others.
"The winners of today's episode of Total Drama Island along with the host himself, Chris McLean" Baumer responds immediately, to the surprised looks of the others, especially Emma, knowing well who could be here later. She had made sure to watch every episode to support her Japanese friend and it would be really good to see him again, so she hoped Naruto could win today's episode.
"That's right, the show's on fire right now, and those teenagers have earned celebrity status, so you'll have to be on your best behavior for the next two days. So, grab your buckets, clean the building's windows, prank Ron, and don't screw it up" Baumer affirms before leaving.
"The winners of Total Drama Island are coming here?" Fin asks, still incredulous at hearing that.
"Sweet bra" was all Broseph said in his typical laid-back attitude.
"Awesome, it would be great to see Naruto again" Emma comments, happy to see her friend again. However, this earns her several looks from the friends she made at the hotel.
"Wait a minute, Emma, you know Naruto? One of the most popular contestants on the show?" Johnny couldn't help but ask, surprised.
"Of course I know him, we've been friends since he moved to the country" the redhead responds calmly.
"Sorry, Em, but I don't believe you" Fin comments with her arms crossed.
"But it's true, Fin" Emma clarifies, only for the tomboy surfer to scoff and roll her eyes.
"Yeah, right, you know what I mean, right Broseph?" Fin asks the afro-haired surfer, butl...
"Cool, bra, good for you" the boy congratulates in his typical chill personality, making Fin facepalm. She should have expected that from him.
"Ugh, you don't believe what Emma said, right, Lo? ... Lo?" Fin asks the rich surfer, who seems to be in a trance, though it didn't take long for her eyes to show the image of a key, undoubtedly another of her schemes to get her penthouse key back.
"Reef, Johnny, come with me. Let's plan some pranks while we clean" she orders before dragging the two boys.
"What? Oh, come on, Lo, seriously?" Reef complains.
"No complaints, this is my chance to get back to the penthouse and nothing will stop me" the girl orders as she drags the two boys with incredible strength. It's surprising what the girl can do when she sets her mind to it.
All this is watched by the other three with flat looks.
"She'll always look for a way to get back, won't she?" Emma asks.
"Totally" Broseph answers back.
"Let's go help, the sooner we finish, the better" Fin decides, and the three grab more buckets to clean.
(In the air - sunset)
Owen was sleeping peacefully in his seat during the flight, while DJ was reading an old magazine he found in his seat, and Harold was completing a crossword puzzle on a page he ripped from the mentioned magazine. Geoff had been battling the entire flight to open a bag of peanuts that Chef had given each of them, Naruto was looking out the window, and Duncan was carving a piece of wood he took before leaving the island.
"Hey, Chris, how much longer until we get there? It's been almost an hour and a half," DJ asked while glancing at the airplane clock.
"Not much, really," the host replied from the co-pilot seat while Chef piloted. "If you look ahead, you'll see the beach area" he indicated, prompting the five awake boys to peer out the windows and indeed begin to see land.
"Finally" Duncan rejoiced.
"Beach, here we come" celebrated Geoff, accidentally tossing his bag of peanuts, which landed in Owen's mouth, who woke up abruptly, coughing.
"Dude!" Geoff immediately worried as soon as he saw his mistake and stood up to help, but the oaf managed to swallow the entire bag within a few seconds.
"Are you okay, Owen?" Naruto asked, handing him a bottle of water, which the oaf gratefully accepted, drinking the contents and calming down shortly after.
"I'm... better... thanks, guys" Owen thanked them.
"Don't thank me, buddy, it was my fault" Geoff admitted, a little embarrassed.
"It's okay, Geoff, don't worry, it's not the first time this has happened" he admitted to the rest's confusion.
"What?" Harold voiced the question on everyone's mind.
"Let's just say I have a natural talent" the oaf admitted.
"Sure, let's leave it at that" Duncan clarified, the less he knew about Owen's digestive process, the better. Although to everyone's true horror, including Chris and Chef, Owen's stomach started to growl.
"No, no, keep it in, Owen. We'll be arriving in about fifteen minutes, just hold it in, dude" Chris warned, a mix of alertness and fear for the impending explosion.
"Don't worry, Chris, I can hold it..." but the oaf couldn't continue as he let out a fart whose effect was immediate; everyone in the plane tried not to choke from the stench. "Sorry, guys, that was the last..." but another came out, "Now that was the..." and another followed.
"Get me the hell out of here!" Chris pounded on the airplane door to no avail, being subjected to toxic gas torture, gradually losing strength as he breathed more and finally slumping down while losing consciousness in that death trap. In a panoramic view of the plane, it was seen losing some altitude unnaturally as it neared the hotel area.
(At the hotel entrance)
"Oh, dude, why did it have to be expired mayonnaise?" Johnny commented while the surfers cleaned up the last of the cannon splats, having spent all afternoon doing so, compounded by having to drop this task every 20 minutes to continue their regular duties.
"We didn't even get to surf" Fin complained while going to refill more buckets with Emma.
"Another day it is then" Broseph commented just as his stomach growled, surprisingly he pulled out a Subway sandwich from his afro without issue to start eating. How something so large fit in there was a mystery.
"How are you doing, Lo?" Reef asked while she and Broseph mapped out plans on a whiteboard.
"We have options ranging from flooding the bathrooms at Captain Ron's hotel, launching stink bombs, and filling his reception hall with honey. I already stole maps of the unauthorized facilities" the rich surfer girl mentioned the last part with some disdain, having taken a whole week to get her skin back to normal.
Reef couldn't help but whistle in surprise. "You're bringing out the big guns. I like it" he admitted before heading down to see Johnny about to clean the last spot, so there was no point in staying up any longer.
"Let's head to town, I need to buy everything that's necessary" Lo commented while dragging the red-haired surfer to the hotel bus, themed similarly to the hotel mascot.
"Hey, Johnny, don't you think Lo is very focused this time?" Broseph asked just before taking a bite of his Subway sandwich.
"The chance to win the prank war and provide excellent service to the Total Drama folks, that's a sure pass to the penthouse, dude" the receptionist commented.
"True" the afro surfer admitted. Soon after, they heard a huge splash on the hotel beach.
"Captain Ron?" Johnny asked.
"I don't know, bro. I'll check it out, you finish cleaning" Broseph stored his sandwich in his hair and went to see what happened.
(At the Surfer's Paradise beach)
"Dude, that's awesome" Broseph commented in his usual tone as he saw the plane with the Total Drama members, which had to make an emergency landing and skidded to a stop on the beach, scaring the tourists. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
"Hello, is anyone there?" the afro surfer asked while knocking on the plane door. Shrugging and driven by curiosity, he ended up opening the door, a bad idea as he instantly received the plane's stench, knocking him to the sand, convulsing slightly from the horrible smell. A few seconds later, Owen, the only conscious one inside the aircraft, emerged.
"Oh sweet land, how I missed you" the oaf celebrated, kissing the sand joyfully. Beside him, he found Broseph still convulsing. "Umm, hey dude, you okay?"
(Hotel reception)
"I already told you I'm sorry, guys" Owen apologized for the umpteenth time as the others entered the hotel.
"Fifteen minutes, Owen, fifteen minutes" Harold mentioned while shuddering at the memory.
"Memo to me, equip breathers whenever in an enclosed space with Owen" Chris noted, looking tired. He NEVER wanted to go through that again.
"Do it before we head back, and believe me, I'll forgive you for everything you did to us on the island" Naruto admits, equally tired, with everyone else nodding in agreement, even Chef and Broseph, the last one who wouldn't even be going back.
"Now I know what it feels like to be in a gas chamber, it's not pleasant" Duncan commented, breathing deeply, still able to smell a bit of Owen's fart and wanting to replace it with the tropical scent.
"Tell me about it" DJ agreed, while Bunny gave Owen a dirty look from DJ's head.
"Thanks for carrying our bags, dude" Geoff thanked Broseph.
"No problem, bro, it's my job after all" Broseph dismissed while pushing a typical hotel cart with everyone's bags.
"Hey Johnny, the guys are here" the afro surfer commented once he saw the receptionist walk in.
"Oh, hello, guys! It's an honor to meet you" Johnny greeted them while shaking each of their hands.
"Don't be so formal, man, we're not arrogant," DJ dismissed.
"At least not all of us" Duncan added, giving Chris a look.
"Oh, come on, what's the point of being famous if no one recognizes you? And that reminds me, where is everyone?" the host asked, noticing the lack of people, although the few present were staring at them with mouths agape and taking pictures.
"Let's just say it's a special time of year, sir. That's why people like to go to bed early or spend time in the city," Johnny replied a bit timidly, not wanting them to find out about the prank war between hotels too soon.
"Whatever. Are the rooms ready?" Chris asked, to which the receptionist nodded and led the guys to their rooms, four VIP rooms with vibrating beds, huge high-definition TVs, room service, and more. Needless to say, the guys were thrilled with what they saw.
"Man, this is life" DJ admitted while lying on the bed with Bunny on his chest.
"The view is beautiful" Harold whistled as he looked at the ocean.
"Alright, guys, we're leaving in two days at noon. Meanwhile, do whatever you want with all-inclusive service as long as you stay within the hotel premises. So don't do anything to ruin my image, and we're good" Chris instructed before heading to his room with Chef.
"Let's just drop our luggage and go eat some real food" Duncan suggested, and everyone agreed. DJ and Harold shared one room, Naruto and Duncan another, and Owen and Geoff the last. Once settled, they went to eat.
"So, what's it like working here, Broseph?" Naruto asked the afro surfer, who didn't seem like a bad guy.
"It's not bad. I just carry bags here and there, and when my shift is over, I can go surfing" Broseph calmly replied.
"Yeah, the waves here are huge" Duncan couldn't help but highlight.
"Best ones in the country, bro. It's a wild ride every time you try to tame one" the afro surfer commented.
"Awesome. Are there surfing lessons around here?" Geoff asked.
"With my friend Reef, but he's out on an errand right now" Broseph replied.
"And I thought you'd want to learn with Bridgette" the punk snickered as the other guys laughed at the slightly embarrassed look on the party boy's face. Luckily, the elevator arrived at the lobby, allowing the guys to head to the dining room where some girls were walking around, surprised to see the show's contestants. One girl, noticing a certain Japanese prankster, couldn't help but get excited.
"Naruto!" Emma called out excitedly, shocking Fin next to her.
"Wait a minute, you actually know him?!" the tomboy surfer asked, surprised.
"Em-chan?! I didn't think it would be here where you work" Naruto greeted cheerfully as they went and hugged each other, shocking both groups of teens.
"Em-chan?" Owen was surprised at how he addressed her.
"Happy enough to hug each other all of the sudden?" DJ had his mouth open in surprise.
"And she's a total babe" Geoff continued, still liking Bridgette, but he wouldn't deny the redhead was a beauty, a sexy beauty.
"Are they a couple?" Harold wondered, shocked. He never thought the Japanese guy would hide his relationships.
"Dude, Heather is going to be so jealous when she hears about this" Duncan continued with a teasing smile, ruining the moment for Naruto.
"I already told you there's nothing between us!" the Japanese guy snapped, only to hear his friend laugh about it. "Oh, come on, Em-chan, it's not funny," Naruto complained.
"Y-y-you and her?" she asked, trying to control herself but bursting into laughter again, bending over from the intensity.
"Oh, shut up. If you watch the show then you know how I get along with that dweeb" Naruto huffed but was interrupted by the other girl in the room.
"Wow, I never thought Emma really knew you" admitted the tomboy surfer before extending her hand. "I'm Fin, nice to meet you" a gesture Naruto happily accepted.
"Naruto, although I suppose you already knew that" the Japanese guy said, making Fin roll her eyes playfully.
"Hey man, don't leave us out" Geoff interjected, prompting the teens to look at each other.
"Let's talk while we eat," DJ proposed, which everyone accepted.
(Dining Room)
"I can't believe it, hahaha, I want a damn picture for the scrapbook" Naruto had been laughing for a while since he saw Emma in her work uniform, which consisted of a 15th-century tavern waitress outfit.
"Laugh all you want, Naruto, but remember I can call your mom anytime" the rookie surfer threatened, showing her phone with Kushina's name and her finger near the call button, which undoubtedly made the boy start coughing while the rest burst into loud laughter.
"Still afraid of being tattled on to your mom?" Harold asked once he calmed down.
"That's sad, dude" Geoff wiped a tear from laughing so much.
"Sad and pathetic if you ask me" Fin added, high-fiving the party boy.
"Go ahead and laugh, but I dare you to defy her and see if you're not scared too" Naruto clarified, arms crossed and slightly embarrassed.
"Yeah, right" Duncan scoffed while taking a big bite of his burger, he really missed real food.
"I have to agree with Naruto, Ms. Kushina is ... intense," Emma commented with a shiver, still remembering the time she got caught up in a month-long martial arts training regime as punishment for helping Naruto escape detention. Her body hurt in places she didn't even know existed, and she still had nightmares about Ms. Namikaze's staff.
"Say it like it is, Em-chan. I won't get offended, she's crazy sometimes," Naruto said with an understanding look, confusing the others. "You'll understand if you meet her" the Japanese guy tried to explain.
"Vy ish evrythin sho epty, by th wy?" Owen asked with his mouth full, grossing out the girls, but they still understood the question.
"We're in a prank war with the rival hotel, and no, Naruto, you can't participate. We're not that desperate" Emma replied, giving Naruto a look that said 'Behave or I'll call your mom' which undoubtedly silenced him.
"Party pooper, was all he could say.
"Extra hands would be helpful, you know" Fin couldn't help but point out.
"His pranks tend to get out of control" the rookie surfer commented with a flat look.
"What's the worst you've done, bro?" Broseph couldn't help but ask.
"I let rabid stray dogs into the fire department, ended up setting the building on fire, and accidentally blew up the roof" Naruto said without hesitation, making everyone stare at him incredulously.
"Emphasis on 'accidentally'" Emma commented still with her flat expression.
"How was I supposed to know they had a meat Thursday?" the Japanese teen defended himself.
"And what was your original plan?" DJ asked, still in disbelief.
"To perform a stunt. I didn't even intend to prank that time" Naruto replied.
"Hardcore" was all Broseph could say.
"How do you two know each other?" Duncan asked.
"We met in school when he moved to the country" the rookie surfer answered instantly. "Since then, every day has been chaos."
"But you can't deny that ever since that day, there's never been a dull moment in your life" Naruto responded, only to see his friend all of the sudden adjusting her hair and outfit as a tall, muscular guy with the same skin, hair, and eye color as Lo walked in. He was accompanied by a boy around 12 with short blonde hair and slightly tanned skin.
"Em-chan?" Naruto asked, confused, waving his hand in front of her face, but she didn't seem to notice. She just took out her notebook and went to attend to the two guys.
"Oohhhhh, so they're not dating" Harold realized, earning a surprised look from the Japanese teen.
"Wait a minute, you thought we were dating?" Naruto's question was met with several whistles from the guys, while Fin and Broseph just shrugged, knowing about Emma's romantic interest in Ty, the 19-year-old guy that just arrived.
(Next Morning)
"Dude, you gotta see this!" DJ called, waking Harold to see from their balcony that the pool was filled with green jello. Owen was already feasting on it, to the astonishment of tourists asking for autographs from him and Geoff, Naruto and Duncan were trying to escape from their fangirls. Chris was lounging on a deck chair while Chef acted as a bodyguard, and Baumer was basically Chris's personal butler. Word had definitely spread that they were at the hotel, and in the distance, you could see mayonnaise bullets being fired from a ship.
"So they weren't kidding about being in a prank war" commented the Jamaican.
"Oh come on, that's unfair" Harold said, a bit jealous of Naruto and Duncan, but mostly Duncan.
"Let's just get breakfast. Hopefully, it'll be quiet" DJ suggested.
(By the Pool)
"Chug, chug, chug, chug!" the crowd cheered as Owen somehow managed to nearly finish all the jello in no time. A minute later, he finished to the crowd's cheers.
"You rule, Owen, WHOOOOO!" Geoff celebrated as some girls approached him. Initially, he planned to run with Duncan and Naruto, but decided to take a more passive approach, trusting the hotel staff to keep things under control.
"Great breakfast" Owen laughed, enjoying the attention as kids came to get his autograph while parents took pictures. Owen seemed to be very popular with the younger population.
"This is definitely a success" Chris celebrated, seeing the popularity of his show reflected, while sipping a tropical drink. "I must say, preparing a breakfast that satisfies Owen's appetite was smart, well done" he praised Baumer.
"We do our best to please, Mr. McClean" Baumer thanked, although the truth was that the pool was a prank by Captain Ron. They were just lucky Owen mistook it for his breakfast.
(On the Beach)
"Climb up, dude!" Naruto and Duncan managed to climb some rocks to the top of a cliff, avoiding their fangirls who, while enthusiastic, weren't eager enough to climb after them.
"D-Damn, if I knew this would come with the show, I would've done more cardio" Duncan said, trying to calm his racing heart. They had just finished breakfast when they were surrounded by fans. Initially, it was fine, but things got out of control when Geoff suggested they were at their service. One thing led to another, and now they were on top of a cliff.
"You said it, buddy. It's like being chased by the cops again, except this time, they don't just want to catch me" Naruto said with a shiver.
"You run from the cops too?" Duncan asked, realizing they had a lot in common.
"More than you think" Naruto replied, making them fist-bump.
"I camouflage with stuff around me to get to a safe spot" Duncan shared, smiling.
"I have multiple escape routes and am always planning new ones" Naruto added with his own smile.
"Awesome" they both said simultaneously, just as they heard cannon fire. Turning, they saw a ship firing mayonnaise bullets.
"Oh ho, they weren't kidding about the war" the Japanese teen said, impressed.
"How do you think Emma's doing?" Duncan asked, curious.
"She's managing, but no idea about the others" Naruto replied.
(In the Prank War)
"For glory!" Reef roared, throwing multiple stink bombs onto the ship as he got close, only to be quickly shot multiple times by paintball guns.
"Man down!" Broseph announced, seeing what happened with binoculars next to Lo, who was acting as the captain on their side of the conflict.
"Oh come on, Reef, you're our scout, not a frontline fighter" the rich surfer girl complained, taking the binoculars from the afro surfer and seeing Reef knocked off his jet ski. "Emma, Fin, on my signal" Lo instructed as the two prepared catapults with dirty clothes and trash.
"The shots are getting more accurate!" Johnny reported over the radio from the control center, which was really just the reception desk. He had to smile timidly when he realized new tourists were arriving and lining up. "Umm, I'll update you later" he said, then turned to attend to the guests.
"Don't you dare hang up on us, Johnny" Lo threatened, but only heard static, much to her frustration. "Ugh, fine, I'll win this alone if I have to. Fire!" she ordered, and Fin and Emma launched the catapults. One projectile hit the side of Captain Ron's ship while the other struck the deck.
"Yes!" Fin celebrated, only to be hit by a cannonball that sent her flying.
"Fin!" Emma shouted in concern, but she was struck by another cannonball.
"Damn!" the rich surfer girl cursed as she saw what was coming. Reluctantly, she pulled out a stretcher. "Broseph, help me with the stretcher. We're retreating this time," she ordered. Broseph nodded and they went to retrieve Lo and Emma, but unnoticed by everyone, Reef was climbing onto the ship, successfully infiltrating it.
(Command Center - Afternoon)
"We're losing ground, sir. If this keeps up, Captain Ron will dominate the market this year" Broseph informed the hotel owner, who was clearly displeased.
"Damn you, Ron, taking advantage of our lack of significant marine transport!" Mr. Ridgemount swore.
"Calm down, Daddy. You'll see, we'll turn this war around" Lo tried to reassure her father, who looked ready to explode.
"But how are we going to overcome the maritime advantage?" Fin pointed out, holding an ice pack to her head.
"We'll have to go through the jungle and attack his base to bomb it, but we also need people protecting our fort. The problem is the lack of personnel. If we spread too thin, we'll compromise customer service, and I bet that's exactly what Ron wants" Emma suggested as a possible solution.
"This is a problem" the tomboy surfer commented, then an idea struck her. "What if we involve Naru-"
"You want to involve outsiders? Bad idea. What if they're Ron's spies?" the rich surfer girl interrupted.
"I wouldn't involve outsiders, just someone Emma knows pretty well" Fin clarified, drawing curious looks from Lo and her father.
"Ohhh, you're talking about him. We could use the extra help" Broseph supported the idea with a thumbs up.
"Do whatever you think is necessary, but I want Ron on his knees" the hotel owner ordered, but a call on the radio caught everyone's attention.
"Umm, guys, Captain Ron is already starting to claim part of our beach as his territory," Johnny reported, surprising everyone.
"Okay, let's see who Emma is talking about" Lo agreed immediately, sounding a bit desperate.
(Hotel Gym)
"Hey handsome" Lo greeted flirtatiously, causing Naruto to lose balance with his barbell. He was doing bench presses, but the sudden greeting distracted him. He barely managed to return the barbell to its place and got up to see Emma having a 'Not again' look on her face next to the rich surfer girl, who seemed very attracted to the Japanese teen.
"Umm... hi?" Naruto responded, unsure what else to say to this girl. He had to admit she was very cute, but this was not how he expected to meet someone.
"Naruto, meet Lo. Lo, this is my friend Naruto. We've known each other since he moved to the country" Emma introduced quickly, getting straight to the point. "We need your help, and we have a plan. Will you help us?" the rookie surfer asked, making the Japanese boy smile broadly.
"Can I add my personal touch?" Naruto asked cheerfully, to the concern of his friend but similar excitement from Lo.
(City - Store - Night)
"How many more do you need, man?" Duncan asked as he, Harold, and Broseph carried several boxes to the hotel bus.
"With these, we're good. And here's the ultimate fuel" Naruto said, pulling out a box of neon green and pink energy drinks featuring a cheetah on the label.
"Cheetah Chug?" Harold asked, confused, as he read the name on the can. Upon doing so, he heard a cheetah's roar, causing him to look around in alarm.
"Dude, you okay?" Broseph asked, only to hear Naruto chuckling.
"I swear I love this drink. Just look at the can and read the name" Naruto said, confusing everyone except Emma, who knew what he was talking about but still wondered how it happened. Sure enough, when the others did as instructed, they also heard the roar.
"How is that even possible?" Lo asked, blinking in confusion.
"I've been wondering that for a while" Emma admitted.
"That's..." Duncan started, only for Broseph to finish.
"Awesome!" the afro surfer said, high-fiving Duncan.
"Where did you get this? I don't remember seeing it in the store" Harold asked once the shock wore off.
"I have my contacts," Naruto replied cheerfully.
"Speaking of contacts, aren't the others going to join?" Lo asked.
"Owen is at the buffet. You'll never get him out of there" Harold answered instantly.
"And the other two?" Emma asked, making the three Drama Island boys look at each other.
(With Geoff and DJ)
"Come on, dude, it's just a gift" DJ encouraged the party guy as they were in the hotel souvenir shop.
"I don't know, dude. There's so much variety, and I don't know what Bridge would like" Geoff replied, holding a plush toy of the hotel's mascot. He picked it up just in case, but still wasn't sure if he should buy it.
"Just get her something she can keep or use, man" DJ suggested.
"Like a surfboard?" Geoff asked, making DJ facepalm. This was going to take a while.
(City - Store - Night)
"Their loss" Lo shrugged, then asked, "Are we done here?"
"I'd say so" the Japanese teen replied, only for Lo to start walking in a direction. "Umm... Lo, where are you going?" Naruto asked.
"I'd like us to get to know each other better. I know a place that sells delicious beaver tails. Wanna come?" she asked, and the boy agreed without hesitation, but turned to his friends.
"What about you guys?" Naruto asked, but behind him, the surfer girl was making threatening gestures for them not to join, which they quickly picked up on.
"Nah, bro, I'm gonna rest at the hotel" Broseph responded.
"We're going to prepare things for tomorrow. See you later" Duncan announced, putting his arms around Harold and Emma's shoulders.
"Well, you're missing out" Naruto shrugged and turned to walk beside Lo towards the stand selling beaver tails.
"Lucky bastard, getting the attention of such a pretty girl" Duncan commented once Naruto and Lo were out of earshot.
"Aren't you with Courtney?" Broseph asked curiously.
"We're not exactly a couple" Duncan replied.
"But aren't you going to see her once you get back?" Emma asked.
"It depends on how the conversation goes" Duncan clarified, pulling a face. He wasn't sure if they'd start dating immediately.
"Do you want to talk about it?" the novice surfer inquired.
"I'd rather head back to the bus" the delinquent evaded the topic, heading back, leaving Emma with a flat look, Broseph confused, and Harold indifferent. Shortly after, the rookie surfer remembered something.
"Wait a minute, where's Reef?" she asked, surprising the afro surfer, while Harold was utterly clueless.
"Who?" the nerd asked.
(On Captain Ron's Ship)
"Taking advantage of the enemy's retreat, they left themselves vulnerable to a nighttime attack" the redheaded surfer commented, opening the bag he had with him. Seeing no one on the ship, he took the opportunity to prepare everything necessary for the following morning.
(Next Morning)
"So, how was your date last night, Whiskers?" Duncan asked his Japanese friend, who was getting dressed after his shower.
"It wasn't a date, but it went great. Lo sure knows how to throw a wild party. From what I heard, last time they ended up driving a jeep into the hotel pool" Naruto replied, tossing his shirt to the punk.
Duncan couldn't help but whistle in surprise. "Dude, where do I sign up for the next one?"
"Not sure if her parents will let her out after that party, dude" Naruto commented with amusement as the two got ready to head out, knowing the others were likely waiting.
(With Geoff and DJ)
"Dude, just pick something already," DJ pleaded while awkwardly signing a few autographs for tourists. Geoff was still engrossed in the display, having found nothing to his liking the previous day.
"Not yet, dude. I can feel it's close" the party guy said, searching through a section of stuffed animals. It wasn't until a couple of hours later that he finally found something, a large teddy bear wearing a polo shirt with yellow Hawaiian flowers and holding a frame for a photo. The plush was popular as it was the only one left on the shelf.
"It's perfect" Geoff declared, reaching for it. As he grabbed the bear, another hand did the same, surprising both campers as they saw an elderly woman with a cane.
"Uh, sorry ma'am, but I got this bear first" Geoff said uncomfortably, not expecting such a situation.
"Oh, honey, that may be true, but as the gentleman you are, you'll obviously let this lady have the bear" the elderly woman said in a sweet voice, too sweet.
"I could, but I really need the bear" Geoff responded, pulling the bear towards him, but the lady still held onto it.
"And I really need it too. It would make a great gift for my granddaughter" the woman countered, pulling the bear back, her voice becoming a bit sharper.
"I could pay you double if you let me have the bear" Geoff tried to negotiate.
"Interesting proposal, young man" the lady mused, considering the offer, causing Geoff to relax. The old woman took advantage of this to yank the bear out of his grasp. "Too bad I'm not interested in your proposal. Have a good day" she said, heading to the counter. Geoff wouldn't have any of it.
"Give it back!" Geoff demanded, grabbing the bear again. The lady didn't loosen her grip and tried to kick the partier away. Things escalated, and the two started tussling over the bear, to the incredulous stares of DJ and some tourists. Meanwhile, Bunny was stripping clothes off some other stuffed animals and checking itself out in a mirror like it was in a clothing store.
(In the Jungle near The Shipowners Hotel)
"Green Team to control tower, we've crossed the border. Expecting enemy contact any moment" Naruto reported into his communicator while walking with Lo and Harold, each armed with paintball guns. Naruto had a paintball sniper, Lo a paintball assault rifle, and Harold a bag.
"Roger that, you're about two kilometers from the enemy base. Proceed with caution" Johnny informed from the reception desk. The jungle squad advanced as cautiously as possible, halting momentarily when they heard rustling bushes. They immediately pointed their guns at the spot, only to see a squirrel appear, much to their relief. They continued until they spotted some of Ron's subordinates in sailor uniforms, the uniform of the Shipowners Hotel. They hid under some trees, and Harold pulled out a stink grenade, tossing it and knocking out the rival hotel employees.
"Path is clear" the nerd announced, and they moved forward, reaching a jungle path, probably a direct route created by the other hotel. Realizing this, they quickly hid again, just in time to see more employees driving a Mini Jeep around the area. Seizing the opportunity, they followed the path through the bushes for about half an hour.
"I hate mosquitoes" Lo complained, swatting at the annoying insects towards the nerd.
"We're in the jungle, Lo. Of course, there are going to be lots of mosquitoes" Harold clarified, swatting them back.
"That doesn't mean I have to like it" the rich surfer girl retorted, pushing the insects back towards the nerd. Their constant swatting led to a hand fight, much to the incredulous look of the Japanese teen.
"Both of you, stop it. We'll lose the element of surprise" Naruto scolded them, but Lo pushed Harold, causing the nerd to cut a vine that triggered an alarm.
"Run!" the Japanese teen ordered, and the three of them took off immediately, pursued by two Mini Jeeps that appeared out of nowhere. They ran for a few minutes before realizing that running wouldn't help much as they were soon to be caught.
"You two go on, I'll hold them off!" Harold declared, pulling out a large grenade from his bag and handing the bag to Lo.
"No way, man, I don't leave anyone behind!" Naruto protested, but Harold was resolute.
"Just complete the mission!" the nerd insisted, stopping to face the pursuers with his paintball gun and stink grenades at the ready.
"I owe you one, Harold!" Lo acknowledged, grabbing the Japanese teen's hand as he slowed down to stay and pulling him along.
"Better make it back in one piece, dude!" Naruto shouted, turning to see Harold giving a thumbs-up with his back turned. With the two of them getting far enough away, the Mini Jeeps arrived, each carrying five employees armed with paintball guns.
"Hands up motherf - wait a minute, aren't you one of those Total Drama guys?" one employee asked, scrutinizing Harold closely.
"I am" Harold replied plainly, then raised the special grenade, drawing several startled looks. "And I hope you remember exactly who will be responsible for this," he said before pulling the trigger.
"Everyone, take cov—!" the group leader of the rival hotel team began to shout, but it was too late.
(Beach Field)
"Do you have a 7?" Owen asked Chris as the two of them and Chef played on the beach, unconcerned about the prank war.
"No, go fishing" the host replied.
"Give me some chips" Chef requested, while behind him, a large pillar of paint could be seen in the distance as the two rival hotels battled it out on the Surfer's Paradise beach, tourists fleeing the war zone.
"Let's do this, people! We need to get this territory back!" Duncan ordered, using a paintball assault rifle to take down several members of the rival hotel team and advance further. Meanwhile, Broseph loaded a small barrel with something inside, unleashing a grenade and throwing it, releasing a very foul odor that knocked out everyone in the impact area.
"To the sea, dude, to the sea! We need to take back the Jet Skis!" Duncan yelled, taking cover behind a rock in front of the afro surfer.
Elsewhere, Fin and Emma were in a golf cart, Fin driving with a maniac grin while Emma shot at anyone in their path. But as they entered more dangerous terrain, they found themselves overwhelmed.
"Emma, release the barrels. We're going to reclaim this beach" the tomboy surfer ordered, getting as close to the sea as possible. Following the command, the novice surfer lit the fuses of the barrels before releasing them. Once done, they jumped into the sea just before a huge explosion occurred. When they emerged, they saw a large area covered in highly resistant glue, with many of the rival hotel staff stuck to the ground.
"I have to admit, Em, your friend sure has a natural talent for pranks" Fin whistled, impressed by what she saw.
"Please don't praise him. Last time, we spent a whole week cleaning up the school after the chewing gum explosion" Emma sighed, remembering, though they had to pay attention to their surroundings as they were buried due to a mayo cannonball. "EWWW!" the novice surfer complained, while at a distance, Captain Ron laughed on his ship.
"I must admit, Ridgemount, I didn't expect your armory to improve so much overnight, but I still have maritime control" the self-proclaimed captain mocked, as he and two more ships fired cannonballs, unaware of Reef, dressed in his hotel uniform, sneaking behind him and planting remote explosives.
Back on the beach, both Duncan and Broseph managed to recover the Jet Skis and wasted no time in filling the tanks with Cheetah Chug before getting on them.
"Ready for a water battle, bro?" the afro surfer asked as he revved the engine.
"Without a doubt, dude" Duncan affirmed, and they both sped off with full power. However, to their surprise, the Jet Skis didn't move at all.
"Did we put the fuel wrong?" Broseph scratched his head in confusion.
"Oh, come on, Whiskers, after all that praise for this drink, and it doesn't work at aAAAAHHHHHHH!" the delinquent complained before the Jet Skis finally moved, and boy, did they move. The acceleration was so powerful that they left trails of green fire in the water.
"WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO, THIS IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!" Duncan immediately retracted his previous complaints as his face stretched due to the speed they were going. The two boys did their best to dodge the cannonballs as they approached at full speed, so much so that they had to direct the Jet Skis to a collision point and jump into the water. Shortly after, they collided with two boats, causing an explosion underwater in a green color with a cheetah roar in the background, and shortly after, the boats sank to Ron's shock.
"NOOOO, MY PRECIOUS FLEET!" the captain fell to his knees at the sight, and they quickly turned to Reef, thinking he was one of his employees. "Send a message to the base, tell them to bring a bigger fleet" the captain ordered, unaware that the redhead surfer had different plans.
"I'm sorry, Captain Ron, but there will be several communication problems ahead" Reef clarified before putting on a mask and showing a detonator.
"Stop him, we have a sp—!" but he couldn't continue as Reef triggered the detonator, causing several explosions of honey and foul gases to fill the ship, causing a large part of the crew to pass out from the smell, including the Captain.
"Alright, with this, we have our ticket to victory" the redhead surfer declared happily, but a thrust from a broom knocked him to the ground, just in time to see the mascot of the Shipowners.
"Well played, dirty whale, but I'm still standing" the Clam Captain declared, delivering another thrust that Reef managed to dodge and roll towards some mops nearby. Seizing the opportunity, he grabbed one of them, and the two engaged in a sword fight on the ship covered in honey and gas.
(With Naruto and Lo)
"How did we get into so much trouble?" Lo asked as the two hid in some bushes while several employees of the rival hotel patrolled the area.
"I blame you and Harold. You started this" the Japanese teen scolded them.
"Ugh, how are we going to get through now?" the rich surfer girl accepted temporary the blame.
"How good are you at acting?" Naruto asked Lo, making the girl question what he had in mind.
(A little later)
The employees were all on alert, having received the communication that the Total Drama guys were with the whales, so they considered them enemies and were vigilant to anything that might happen. But they all quickly turned when they heard a scream and saw Lo trying to clean herself as best as possible from several blue stains.
"Ew, ew, ew, ew, what the heck just fell on me?!" the girl complained, only for the various employees to aim their guns at her.
"Hold it right there, miss. What are you doing in a restricted area?" one employee asked, but he came to recognize her instantly.
"Boss, it's Mr. Ridgemount's daughter" another informed, causing everyone to pay closer attention and realize it was true.
"Oh ho, we hit the jackpot, boys. Catch her, she'll be our hostage and ticket to victory against the rival hotel" the one in charge ordered, and they started to pull out a rope.
"Oh come on, guys, can't we take things easy?" Lo tried to calm down the others who had dollar signs in their eyes, possibly thinking about the raise they'd get for being the cause of their victory, but the sound of an engine made them turn back just in time to see Naruto in one Mini Jeep.
"Sorry, guys, but she and I have a date. The place? Victory!" Naruto taunted before speeding off. This forced them to move out of the way to avoid being run over, and the Japanese teen took the opportunity to get in front of the rich surfer girl. "Get in" he ordered immediately, and the girl took the passenger seat as they drove away.
"Don't let them escape!" the rival hotel squad leader ordered, and two more Mini Jeeps loaded with employees followed them. But they couldn't get far when they noticed their tires were punctured, causing them to stop.
Meanwhile, Naruto and Lo were laughing because the plan worked.
"What a bunch of idiots" the rich surfer girl mocked.
"How I love this trick" the Japanese teen rejoiced as they headed towards the rival hotel. "How long until we get there, Lo?" Naruto couldn't help but ask.
"Not long. Better start preparing" the girl replied, taking out several grenades from the bag. But one almost slipped from her grasp when out of nowhere, a pair of enemy Mini Jeeps ambushed them.
"Can you tell me why the six of you had to take on an entire staff?" Naruto asked while trying to lose them from sight, but they gradually began to receive paintball shots.
"Because you arrived at the hotel, Bummer wants you to have the best service possible and cut our forces too much" the girl replied, taking out her assault rifle and returning fire. Luckily, she managed to hit a driver who, upon impact, accidentally turned the wheel, causing him and his passengers to fall into a nearby river.
"Isn't he called Baumer?" the Japanese teen asked.
"I'll tell you later. Just get to the hotel however you can, then head to the beach" the rich surfer girl ordered, trying to defend herself as best she could.
(On The Shipowners' destroyed fleet)
"I must admit, you're skilled, whale, but we'll be victorious in the end" the rival hotel's mascot taunted as they continued their 'epic duel' on one of the ship's edges.
"Don't get too cocky, you lousy clam" Reef retorted, delivering another stab to the side, but unfortunately, the costume cushioned the blow. It was bad luck for the redhead surfer, who ended up receiving another thrust that completely unbalanced him, causing his back to hit the edge.
"Sayonara, little fishy" the clam said, but suddenly, a paintball hit it in the head, causing it to sway, and Reef took advantage of the opportunity to use all his strength to push the mascot so that it fell into the ocean. Without wasting time, he took a rope and duct tape to capture Captain Ron.
In the distance, Fin, just out of the mayo, was seen with a sniper rifle, indicating that she provided long-range support. "Oh yeah, I'm starting to like this baby" the tomboy surfer admitted as she caressed her weapon, while Emma finally emerged from the sea, cleaning off the mayo.
(At The Shipowners Hotel)
"Keep going, Naruto, keep going!" Lo ordered as she reloaded her weapon, continuing to escape from the enemies. They finally emerged from the jungle, and right now, the rival hotel was in sight.
"Get the grenades ready, Lo, we're almost there!" Naruto warned, causing the rich surfer girl to turn and gasp as they indeed were close. Without further ado, she took out the bag and started preparing more special grenades, one by one, throwing them at the reception area. Seeing this, the Mini Jeeps had to divert to cover the explosion as much as possible. With that, the Surfer's Paradise teens surrounded the establishment and reached the beach, never stopping throwing grenades, putting everyone on high alert.
"There are Jet Skis, let's go!" Lo indicated, so the Japanese teen stopped, and they took advantage of the commotion to reach the said vehicles. They revved them up as much as possible and crossed the sea towards their hotel, while behind them, multiple paint explosions occurred at the rival hotel, something Mr. Ridgemount observed through his binoculars.
"Victory" he commented quietly, his pride in his daughter escalating several levels today.
(Surfer's Paradise - Sunset)
"Say it, Captain Ron" Mr. Ridgemount ordered as the mentioned Captain watched in horror what happened to his hotel on TV, many tourists leaving with several of his employees trying everything to make them stay, but nothing worked.
"Alright, I accept defeat" the devastated captain declared, much to the celebration of those who participated.
"Very well, now get him out of my sight" Mr. Ridgemount ordered, but Naruto stopped him.
"Oh no, not like that, at least" the Japanese teen mentioned, passing a button to the owner of Surfer's Paradise. "Mr. Ridgemount, would you do the honors of ending this in a humiliating way?" the boy asked, making the entrepreneur look at the button incredulously.
"Do you want to finish Ron in a humiliating way?" he asked, so Naruto gave him a knowing look.
"Hey, it's your call. I'm just suggesting something" Naruto clarified.
Mr. Ridgemount just looked at him for a moment before finally speaking. "What's your name, kid?" the owner asked.
"Naruto Namikaze, sir" the Japanese teen replied with a smile.
"Naruto... I'm starting to like you, kid" Mr. Ridgemount clarified with a smile of his own before pressing the button instantly.
"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!" was all Captain Ron could scream very sharply when his underpants were pulled by a hook in the back, connected to an extremely painful catapult wedgie, the force was such that he was thrown straight into the sea on the way to the hotel. While some not so subtly rubbed their butts feeling the phantom pain, the owner of Surfer's Paradise and the Japanese teen laughed uncontrollably as they put an arm around each other's shoulders as if they were long lost best friends.
"That was beautiful" Mr. Ridgemount exclaimed as he wiped a tear from laughing so hard. "Alright, you guys earned a big raise" the owner mentioned, pointing to his employees whose eyes changed to dollar signs with a 'cha-ching' sound. "As for you, for the great favor you did for me despite not being affiliated with us, you earned a 50% discount each time you come to any of my hotels" he clarified for Harold, Naruto, and Duncan to high-five.
"Thank you, sir," Harold was quite content for the moment.
"On the contrary, thank you" the hotel chain owner thanked the Drama Total kids before turning to his daughter. "Lo" the man called her attention.
"Yes, Daddy?" the girl asked excitedly, seeing the more than guaranteed possibility of returning to the penthouse. Although in the background, the jaws of the three Total Drama boys were on the floor as they heard how the rich surfer girl called the owner.
"Holy shit, this girl swims in money!" Naruto exclaimed incredulously in his thoughts.
"Lucky bastard!" the punk and the nerd shouted in their heads as they noticed the girl showing interest in the Japanese boy.
"Although ignoring what was happening with those three, the father-daughter duo continued. 'You showed tenacity, courage, leadership, and communication skills. Well done' he said, causing his daughter to cheer happily.
"Does that mean I can go back to the penthouse?" she asks, hopeful, as her father gives her a smile that fueled her hopes even more.
"No" he calmly replies, causing his daughter's smile to freeze. "What I saw today made me realize that I made the right decision by putting you to work this summer. I'm seeing competencies and values in you that you didn't have before, and it makes me very proud that you've not only grown as a professional but as a person. You may not return to the penthouse today, but keep going down this path, and you may return before the summer ends" he explains, walking to his office and leaving his stunned daughter behind.
"Come on, Lo, it wasn't so bad. At least your dad sees you in a better light now" Fin tries to console her, patting her on the back, but unfortunately, this causes her to lean forward and faceplant onto the floor.
"Oh, that had to hurt" Reef grimaces, while Broseph takes the Subway sandwich that he didn't finish the previous day from his head and starts eating it again.
"Hey, guys, how's eve...ry...thing?" DJ asks as he and a very beaten-up Geoff with Bridgette's gift in hand pass by the reception, only to see Lo on the floor, and Duncan, Harold, and Naruto with incredulous faces.
"Bro, what happened to you?" Broseph asks Geoff.
"Never trust an old lady, dude, especially one with a cane" the partier says before walking away with a slight limp, seemingly about to fall at any moment.
"Yep ... just a normal day in my life whenever Naruto is involved" Emma sighs as she facepalms.
(Next Day - Noon)
"Wow, Em-chan, I didn't think you were someone who went for rich guys" Naruto teases lightly as the rookie surfer gives him a light smack on the arm.
"Oh, shut up, I didn't even know he was the owner's son at the time" the girl defends herself with a slight blush.
"Sure you didn't" the Japanese teen says sarcastically.
"And what about you? Have you thought about getting together with someone? From what I've seen, you get along pretty well with that Gwen girl" Emma asks, recalling what she saw on the show so far.
"I don't know, she's a great girl, that's for sure, but I think I want to get to know her better before trying anything" Naruto sighs as he scratches his head.
"Oh? So you think she's cute?" the redhead surfer asks with a knowing smile.
"No doubt, but like I said, I want to get to know her more. We might not be compatible after all" the Japanese teen explains.
"Well, if nothing happens between you two, there will always be someone else" Emma shrugs.
"True" Naruto admits before turning to his friend. "What about Carrie-chan and Devin? How are they?" he asks, curious about the rest of his friends back home.
"I don't know, really. I've called Carrie, and it seems she's helping Kevin with something, but from her tone, it sounds like something happened to him. She doesn't answer her phone much due to that" Emma replies with a sigh.
"Should we be worried?" Naruto asks, a little concerned.
"I don't know, at least Carrie is with him to help him" the rookie surfer replies, but their conversation is interrupted by Chris.
"All right, everyone on board, we're heading back to the island, and we have Chef ready to hunt you down if you refuse!" the host declares as the former military man has several ropes with him.
"I guess I'll see you at the end of the summer, good luck at winning the prize" Emma supports her friend as they approach the others.
"Sure, you'll see how I win the competition" the Japanese teen comments as they high-five, but before he entered, someone else had something to say.
"Hey, you're leaving without saying goodbye to the others, how rude" Lo complains.
"Sorry, Lo, it slipped my mind" Naruto apologizes.
"No problem, bro, I understand you're in a hurry" Broseph comments in his usual tone.
"Yeah, and we already have your numbers" Reef shrugs.
"That reminds me, hey Geoff, can you send a message to Bridgette? I want to see how good she is at surfing" Fin says with a challenging smile.
"No problem, sis" Geoff gives her finger guns in confirmation.
"Come on, Owen, you already flew on the plane!" Johnny comments as he and Chef keep him in place.
"But you guys don't understand, last time we almost crashed!" the oaf complains, scared.
"And whose fault was that?" Chris reminds him just before hitting him with another frying pan and with that getting him on the plane.
"I just hope you equipped the breathers" Harold comments with a flat look.
"And it's better if you guys get in soon; I don't want to risk Owen waking up mid-flight" the host remarks.
"Dude, at least a few more days would have been nice" Duncan wishes as he enters.
"There will be a next time" DJ tries to console him as he also boards the plane.
"See you later, dudes and dudettes" Geoff bids farewell before going back in.
"I guess it had to happen" Harold resigns himself as he enters the aircraft.
"Well, I guess that's it, see you later guys" Naruto says, turning around.
"Hey, Naruto" Lo calls out, making the boy turn to look at her just in time for the rich surfer girl to kiss him on the cheek, much to his total surprise. "See you later" she says flirty, winking at him, and before the boy could say anything, Chris pulls him inside and closes the door. With that, Lo gets away and watches with everyone else as the plane heads off to the island to continue the show."
