Searching For Reasons
Sonic and Mash arrived in Port Ruin to fight off the enemies around them. Sonic performs a somersault/bicycle klick and knocks the Skeleton upwards into the air. Soon after, Mash slams her shield down towards the Skeleton onto the ground and breaks the Skeleton in half before fading away.
"Another one of those chumps taken care of, Mash." Sonic stretches his arms
"Good job once again, Senpai. Come on, let's get going." Mash replies
"As expected from you, Mash is using a servant's body. Intriguing strength." Olga mentions
"Still a bit of hassle to get used to this new body... Also, I have a question: The Fuyuki data and this Fuyuli are currently different. What exactly happened?" Mash questions
"If you ask me, history could've been disrupted. Also, I must say this: Chaldea observes the future through an Earth model called Chaldeas. Laplace also gathered data on history that was never recorded. So, according to Laplace, a strange Holy Grail War was recorded in this city in 2004."
"A Holy Grail War? A magical chalice that grants its holder wishes? That Holy Grail?" Mash confuse
"Sounds exactly like the Chaos Emeralds. If only I had them in my safe right now." Sonic commented
"Anyway. Mages in Fuyuki competed for the Grail and summoned seven Heroic Spirits, which began the war. Unknownst to anyone, servants were indeed summoned to this area. It's pretty simple: Seven Masters fight one another, and the one standing wins and gets the Grail. Chaldea only learned about this in 2010. The previous Director used this data to build the summoning system. Our third invention after Laplace and Chaldeas." Olga explains
"Isn't that the Near-Future Observation Lens, Shiva?" Mash asks
"Professor Lev created that, but you could say that we worked on it together. But either way, that is where Servants originate. Seven Servants fought here, and in the end, Saber was victorious. The town wasn't destroyed, and no one should have noticed the Servants, but… Now, this is happening. We should assume that the outcome changed due to this Singularity. The anomaly in 2004 altered human history, so we're no longer able to see 100 years into the future. That's why it's our job to repair this anomaly. Somewhere here is the reason history has been disturbed. Once we analyze and eliminate it, that will complete our mission. All of us will be able to return to the present. Do you finally understand everything, Sonic?" Olga said
"Holy Grail War began here; these Servants were summoned here, these Seven Masters fought, this Saber person or whoever it is won, and were here standing in the middle after that aftermath." Sonic Recapping
"Well, finally, I'm proud of you remembering all that. *She Hears Growling Noises Coming Towards Them* Again?! Why did they have to appear here again?!" Olga exclaimed
"You heard the lady? Let's kick some butt!" Sonic said
The two skeletons aimed their bows at Sonic pulled their arrows back and fired at them. Mash quickly runs to Sonic's side, holding her shield before them and blocking the oncoming arrows heading towards Sonic. Sonic quickly jumps over Mash and runs towards the two Skeleton enemies in Light Speed. The skeletons took out more arrows, pulled them back with their bows, aimed towards Sonic, and fired upon him. Sonic notices the oncoming arrows rol, ls briefly on the ground, and slides underneath them, dodging them entirely and continuing to run toward the Skeletons. Although he dodged the arrows, he looked behind and noticed the arrows were now heading toward Mash. Mash looks and notices the arrows heading towards her very fast. Without thinking twice, she rolls underneath them as the arrows zoom past her, landing behind her, and get stuck into the ground. Sonic turns his focus back to the Skeleton as he jumps into the air, performs a double-hitting "break-dance" spinning kick, and destroys the Skeleton into pieces before fading away.
"*Sighs* The battle is over, Master. We managed to pull through again..." Mash said
"It's not over yet, buddy. We still have a good amount coming soon. Be on your guard." Sonic replies
"Hey, Mash. Is it possible that you can't use your Noble Phantasm?" Olga asks
"Apparently. I don't even know which Heroic Spirit-fused with me… and I'm unable to use the power of its Special Arts, the Heroic Spirit's secret weapon known as a Noble Phantasm. I'm sorry for explaining this so late, Senpai. Servants are equipped with a unique skill called a Noble Phantom. It's derived from each hero's legend and great deeds and is a secret weapon. However, I am unable to wield my Noble Phantasm. I can somehow use it as a weapon, but its output is decreased. I can't even release its True Name. I don't even know what the origins of this weapon of mine might be. In any case, you can think of me as a failed Servant. Or maybe just a capable kouhai that can get even stronger. I don't have any leads on the Heroic Spirit that fused with me, but with you as my Master, Sonic, I will figure it out as I grow." Mash disappointed
"Don't call yourself a "Failed Servant," Mash. You've always been a great person; I've seen you fight multiple times already and still are kicking butt! It tells me that you're a great fighter that would protect your friends! I'm proud of you, Mash." Sonic cheering Mash-up
"S-Sepeni..."
"You aren't just a random person, Mash. You're my best friend, and I couldn't be happier! I knew we would become great friends ever since we first met!" Sonic said
"*She Hugs Sonic Tightly* "Thank you, Sonic! That was the kindest thing I've ever heard from you or anyone else..." Mash thanking Sonic
"No problem, buddy. I'll always be by your side, no matter what." Sonic replies
"M-Moving on to a different topic... Masters can analyze their Servant's parameters, skills, and matrixes. Sonic… As a Master, once you become good enough, you should be able to analyze Mash's Servant data. Any Servants you contract with from this point should be the same. First, you need to learn their True Name and Noble Phantasm. As your trust in them grows, your Servants' power will grow, too. Well, it's not like you have that much potential in you. Once we get Chaldea's Rayshift capability back online, we will shift a first-class Master here. Then we're kicking you back inside the room so we can continue to analyze you and finally find an answer to who you are." Olga stated
"Sorry, Director. But you haven't seen what I'm capable of just yet! Sure, this is my first time being a Master, but watch as time passes." Sonic replies
"Hmm... Will see about that." Olga commented
*Church Ruin*
"Everything's burnt down far as the eye can see… There aren't any traces of residents either. What happened here? What could even turn Chaldea gray in the first place? If we can't see the future, that means humanity will vanish… Could that mean the Counter Force doesn't work in a Singularity? Then this place is like a Bolt… The fatal choice of destruction scattered throughout human history… When your choices become mistakes, this is what happens." Olga is talking to herself
"This could take a while for the Director to stop talking to herself... Anyway, how do you feel, Sonic? Would you care to rest for a bit?" Romani asks
"I can go on for a while, Roman. Fighting is my favorite pastime, you know? But I can't say the same to Mash. How are you feeling, bud?" Sonic said
"I'm doing alright myself, Senpai. Still kind of scary to fight, but I'll hold on for a little while." Mash replies
"Speaking of fighting, here come more enemies! Brace yourself, you two!" Romani exclaimed
"*See More Skeletons Appearing* Alright, time to have fun! Let's do this, Mash!" Sonic said
"Let's do this, Master!"
Mash and Sonic begin charging towards the Skeletons as well. The Skeleton, wielding a sword, attempts to attack Sonic by unleashing a strong slash across Sonic. Still, Sonic jumps over the Skeleton, performs a 3-hit spinning kick move from behind, and knocks the Skeleton toward Mash. Mash notices and slams her shield toward the Skeleton and knocks it towards a broken wire pole, which shatters into pieces before fading away. The second Skeleton, who wields a bow, attempts to shoot an arrow at Sonic but is faster and performs a somersault kick at the Skeleton and knocks it upwards into the air. Soon after, Sonic jumps in the air, performs an overhead axe kick from a frontward somersault, and knocks the Skeleton back to the ground, where it completely shattered into smaller pieces before fading away. As Sonic landed back down to the ground, another skeleton wielding a Sword charged up behind. It was about to attack Sonic until Mash charged toward the Skeleton and slammed her shield toward it, knocking it away and hitting another Skeleton. Sonic looks behind and notices that Mash saved him from an oncoming attack coming from behind. He gives her a thumbs up. Mash smiles as both begin charging at the Skeletons that Mash pushed away. As the skeletons tried to get back up, they both turned and noticed Mash and Sonic charging. Soon, Mash and Sonic jump into the air and slam down towards the Skeletons with Mash's shield and Sonic's overhead kick, shattering the skeletons into pieces before fading away.
"Another battle has been won, Senpai," Mash stated
"*Punches A Skeleton In The Face, Breaking Its Skull Into Pieces* Now it has~," Sonic said
"Sorry to break the victory, but we got more company! And this time, it isn't a"
The Three look and notice a mysterious figure standing before them, watching and intimidating them.
"A Servant is there! Don't fight it, Sonic, Mash! It's too soon for you to fight a Servant!" Romani panicked
"*Watches As The Servant Lunges Towards Them* We won't back down from this fight! Are you ready, Mash?"
"I will do my best, Master! Let's do this!" Mash exclaimed
the Servant begins charging at both Sonic and Mash. Sonic charges and the manservant jumps in the air and comes back down to the ground with their weapon over them, ready to stab Sonic with their gun. Sonic notices, performs a somersault kick, and kicks the gun out of the Servant's hands, disrupting the attack. As the Servant landed on the ground, they looked at Sonic, who quickly punched their face and sent them flying back. After getting punched hard in the face, The Servant stops themselves from going farther and lands back down on the ground, where they quickly regain focus and charge at Sonic again. Sonic watches as the Servant charges at him and is about to attack him with their weapon until Mash jumps in front of Sonic and stops the attack of the Servant from hitting Sonic. After Mash blocks the Servant's attack, she charges at the Servant and knocks them away with her shield, losing their balance and falling to the ground. Soon after, Sonic jumps over Mash, lands in front of the Servant, and grabs them tightly so they won't escape his grasp. He heaves the Servant overhead and stabs them with his spiky quills. The quills puncture the Servant's stomach and leg before Sonic launches them upwards towards the air. Soon after, Mash jumps towards the Servant and slams her shield on the Servant's stomach, sending them to the ground and crushing them soon after. Lastly, Sonic jumps mid-air, curls himself into a ball, and repeatedly spins attacks downwards toward the Servant. Soon after, Sonic performs an overhead axe kick at the Servant as they lie motionless, vanishing soon after.
"Finally, it's over, but kind of odd this Servant was brought down easily..." Sonic stated
"We defeated a Servant... *Sighs* I thought we didn't stand a chance against them..." Mash tired
"No breaks right now, Mash. Another signal similar to earlier is heading your way; best you all retreat from that place pronto." Romani said
"Sounds good; come on, guys! Let's get going." Sonic said
*Returning To The Bridge*
"Good, we made it out there... But why are Servants appearing so suddenly...?" Olga confused
"Maybe because I'm a servant and they are targeting me...?" Mash asks
"But you have nothing to do with the Grail... Why would these Servants target you..." Olga replies
"Sorry to break your two chit-chat, but we got company! *They All Turn To See Another Shaody Figure Approaching Them* Great... Just what we needed right now..." Sonic commented
"New Prey... The Grail shall be mine!"
"I'll take care of them, Senpai! You stay back and Command me!" Mash exclaimed
"How about you stay here with Olga and allow me to fight for you?" Sonic asks
"S-Senpai?! You're going to fight them alone?!" Mash shocked
"I don't want anything to happen to you, buddy. You stay here while I deal with them. *Walks Towards The Servant* Alright, you! Do you want a fight? I'll give you one!"
The Assassin begins throwing multiple knives right at Sonic. Sonic notices the oncoming knives and dodges one after the other easily. This angers the Assassin Servant, and he throws even more knives at Sonic. Sonic continues dodging the knives that were thrown at him until he grabs one of the knives and throws it back at the Assassin, stabbing him in the stomach.
"Y-You used my weapon against...?!"
"Heh~ I can play dirty at times as well!" Sonic replies
Sonic starts circling the Assassin Servant super fast. The Assassin attempts to attack Sonic but is too fast for him to lay a finger on him. Seconds later, Sonic begins spinning, dashing, punching, and kicking the Assassin repeatedly. For a few seconds, Sonic continues to attack the Assassin Servant around his body until Sonic slows down. Roundhouse kicks the Assassin behind his head one last time before jumping away and landing next to Mash.
"This isn't going as I hoped for... We need to come up with a better plan..."
"They've caught up! Another Servant has appeared again, and it's their main force!"
"*Sees Another Servant Appear* Shoot..."
"Let's finish this, Lancer. I don't even know what kind of Heroic Spirit that nor that Blue rodent is, but I will have their heads." The Servant stated
"If you two still want to fight, I'll give you another one again! No matter who I'm against, I'll fight to protect my friends! Right Mash?" Sonic exclaimed
"Y-Yes! I'll do everything I can to protect my friends!" Mash stated
"Ha! Futile! Fight, then you die. Run, and you still die. The demise of the futile, oh so miserable."
"Go ahead and struggle. Miserable people are ever so entertaining."
"Think again! *Dashes Around Assassin, Building A Blue Twister Around Assassin And Attacking Them In Different Angles. Assassin Wasn't Able To Stop Sonic's Attacks Due To His Speed. Eventually, The Twister Stops, Sonic Kick's Assassin On The Chest And Sends Them Flying To A Wall, Hitting It* How's that?"
"GAH! Irritating creature... I have never seen anything like you before with such incredible speed..." Assassin stated
"Ah, so this is where you two have been. These guys giving you a hard time?" A Voice echoed
"*Is Suddenly Hit By A Blast Of Energy* GAH! WHAT THE?!"
"*Appears* Sheesh... That was easy to dodge, and yet you were hit by it. Kind of expected Servants to be smarter than that." The Figure stated
"Tch... Curse you, Caster... Why are you siding with such futile peasants?!" Lancer exclaimed
"Better siding with them than you two idiots. Plus, I see a lot of potential in these brats, especially the blue-talking creature. I've never seen someone run that fast and outrun a Servant like that. Young lady, be ready for a fight. Don't worry, you're good. You can turn this around if you pay attention." Caster stated
"R-Right, I'll do my best!" Mash replies
"Hey, blue, you her Master? Then I'm leaving the orders to you. I'm a Caster-class Servant. They don't like me right now. It's not like the enemy of my enemy is my friend, but for now, you can trust me. In honor of the brave blue boy there, I'll form a Temporary contract with you and fight as your Servant." Caster said
"Sounds good to me~ Also, I don't like commanding anyone, so you do what feels best for you. Anyway, enough talking, let's get down to business!" Sonic said
"Your cockiness will be your downfall, blue one. I will deal with you myself! *Lunges Toward Sonic To Attack, But His Attack Is Blocked By Mash's Shield*"
"I won't allow you to hurt my Master! I'll deal with Lancer, Sonic!" Mash exclaimed
"*Blocking Several Of Lancer's Attacks* Not bad just now, kid. Allow me to assist you. *Builds Up Energy And Fires An Explosive Energy Towards Lancer, Knocking Him Away*"
"*Dashes Towards Assassin And Runs Around Him In High Speeds Again, Attacks Him In Different Angles In Seconds. The Assassin Attempts To Attack Sonic, But Sonic Quickly Dodges The Attacks And Kicks Him Towards The Wall. Sonic Rushes Once Again, Curls Into A Ball, And Spin Dashes Towards the Assassin, Hitting Him Multiple Times Before Doing The Final Blow On Him* Take that!"
"To be defeated... By a creature... of unknown origins... such a shame... *Vanishes Soon After*"
"*Is Hit By One Of Mash's Attack As She Swings Her Shield Across Lancer, Knocking Him Back Into A Tree Hard* "So… This… is how I fall… A real pity… If only I could have lasted a little… longer… The Grail would have been mine… Curse you, girl… *Vanishes Soon After*"
"Yeah! That's what I'm talking about! You guys were amazing!"
"Thank you so much, Master! As well as you, Caster, you were a big help to us!" Mash thanking Caster
"Hey, good work. You don't owe me for this, so don't worry about it. You should be more worried about your body. That damn Assassin kept targeting your butt like a pest!" Caster said
"*Blushing* Oh..."
"*Ahem* You may have helped us, but I don't like hearing anyone talking like that to my friends," Sonic stated
"Hahaha! Alright, alright, just a little joker right there." Caster replies
"Moving on from that conversation, let's get some information. He seems to be a decent Heroic Spirit." Romani said
"Oh, so someone who wants to cut to the chase. What is this? Some means of communication through magecraft?" Caster said
"Well said, Caster Servant. I don't know which Heroic Spirit you are, but we have respect and awe for you." Romani said
"Oh, spare me your remarks. I'm sick of hearing them. State your business, weakling. Isn't that what you're good at?" Caster responded
"Uh… I-I see. All right then… Weakling… I got called a weakling from someone I've met for the first time." Romani said
