GOJO ESTATE, THE DAY OF THE GOODWILL EVENT
It was certainly a grand surprise when Gojo came to greet Yuji and Nanami to see they've picked up a stray goddess on their way back to his home, after Nemesis' cryptic comment about Melinoe he'd harbor a sneaking suspicion that it would no be the final time he'd meet the goddess. After all she was immortal so it felt like only a matter of time till she'd return but the only real question was if she even wanted to return, and thankfully she did. Not only did he sense cursed energy coming from the goddess but she grew some muscle on those godly bones and he was beyond impressed with how much she's evolved.
Yuji in celebration of Melinoe's return cooked some meatballs and a few vegan ones due to Melinoe's refusal to eat meat. It's very surprising how good of a cook Itadori was, add that with the bottles of Nectar Melinoe brought directly from the Underworld and it made for a very tasty meal. Food coma had hit them fairly hard and Yuji went to sleep pretty soon after with Melinoe following suit as she needed a proper rest after nearly dying twice in the span of a single day. It was probably the most exhausting day of her time in this cursed future.
The next day rolled around and Nanami was here to drive the resurrected duo back to Jujutsu Tech for the Goodwill Event since apparently Gojo can't drive. Nanami, Gojo, and Melinoe sat in the lounge area of the Gojo estate waiting for Yuji to finish getting himself dressed. Gojo threw his head back, absolutely bored by the lack of anything going on "Nanami! Mel! Tell me a funny story!"
"Funny…?" Melinoe questioned not really having anything come across her mind that could be considered humorous in any capacity.
"Don't humor him, Melinoe." Nanami told the sorcerer goddess as he flipped a page in his newspaper.
"Okay I got it!" Gojo pointed his fingers to the ceiling "We'll throw around a stale rice ball while talking about the separation of church and state. It'll go viral!"
At this point Melinoe assumes he's just gone mad from boredom. "What does that even mean?"
Gojo began to rhythmically clap "Drinking game! Name everything you like about Satoru Gojo! See who names the most? My turn, everything!"
How was it possible for Itadori to learn anything under this man child?
Nanami sighs and turns the page "You just keep thinking that way, Itadori needs that kind of idiocy right about now."
Oh, that's right… Yesterday was a rough day to say the least and most of it was on Itadori's part, to have that patchwork monster transfigure your friend right in front of you and you were powerless to stop it. That would traumatize even the most hardened of entities, he seemed fine when seeing Gojo and making the three of them dinner but there's no way it's anything more than an act.
"Hey by the way Nanami." Nanami looked over to Gojo. "That kind of mission wasn't what I had in mind when I said 'tough missions'. Sorry you had to come back to something like that too Mel."
"It's fine Gojo, I've handled worse in poorer conditions."
"Dope, Nanami does Yuji know about the finger at Yoshino's house?" Gojo questioned while moving his blindfold to rub his eyes.
"No. Knowing Yuji he would have felt unnecessarily responsible for it." Can't argue with his reasoning, Itadori blames himself to a fault and even something that was completely out of his control as that he would have felt as if it was his fault.
"That's why you're the man. So where's it now?"
"I turned it in at Jujutsu Tech. If I gave it to you, you would have made Itadori eat it already."
The sounds of heavy footsteps running down the hallway could be heard as Yuji slid into the lounge area with his shoes screeching to stop his momentum. "Hey Gojo!" Everyone turned to Itadori, seeing him with a big smile on his face and sparkles in his eyes, a complete contrast to the boy Melinoe saw in tears yesterday. "Oh Nanami's here too. Well come on guys I wanna go see everyone! Mel's gonna see them all too, let's go let's go let's go!"
"Hold up a minute Yuji, are you just gonna drop in like nothing happened after all this time?" Gojo asked.
"I can't?!"
"Even in sorcerery it's rare to have anyone essentially come back from the dead after being gone all this time, so we have to make it a surprise!"
"Why?" Melinoe butted in confused. "I mean I was the only one who's been 'dead' and everyone should have already been expecting I would be returning from death so what's the issue."
"We've kinda been keeping Yuji a secret for awhile after that little special grade incident. Right now pretty much everyone thinks he's dead." Gojo told Melinoe bluntly as her jaw dropped from how cruel of an idea that was.
"Why would you do that?! Nobara and Megumi must have been traumatized!" Melinoe yells at Gojo but that's when something clicked in her mind "Wait… did I ever tell Nobara I was a goddess… oh no she must believe me to be gone forever."
"See, so they'll believe the surprise even more!" Gojo completely ignoring Melinoe's concerns about Nobara and Megumi's mental well being. "Just leave the surprise to me. The first years will laugh so hard they'll cry because of how happy they are! The second year and Kyoto students will follow suit, I bet someone will even throw up! Kugisaki will confess her love to Melinoe and in the end global warming will be resolved!"
"AWESOME!" Itadori gave a thumbs up agreeing with the plan.
"Wait what was that last part about No-" Melinoe tries to get a question out but Yuji interupts her.
"Sensei tell me what we need to do!"
"You kids don't have to do anything! Only do what I say and go with the flow!" Gojo and Yuji began planning, leaving Melinoe to still question what the point of surprising everyone was when them being alive is just enough of a surprise to suffice. But Itadori seems excited enough to go along with Gojo's plan so she might as well go along with it, whatever keeps him distracted from what happened yesterday is a good thing.
…
JUJUTSU TECH
"Hey wait a minute? Why's everyone empty handed?" Nobara asked with a very confused yet embarrassed expression. She was holding a magazine and a suitcase full of luggage as she had a completely different idea of where The Kyoto Sister Exchange Event was going to be held. The four other Jujutsu Students collectively let out a huh sound as they looked at Nobara being the only one with luggage in her hand for some weird reason which prompted Panda to ask why did she bring luggage?
"We're going to Kyoto right…? A Goodwill Event in Kyoto…"
Panda proceeded to correct her "A Goodwill Event with Kyoto, in Tokyo."
"YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!" Nobara yelled and ran her hands through her hair as she began to ramble on about the plans she had for when they all would arrive in Kyoto. Maki now understands why she hasn't been making any sense the past week, it was pretty well known information to those in the loop of things Jujutsu for a long time and Nobara simply wasn't a part of that. As panda tries to explain how they won last year so they would be the hosts this year Nobara grabbed Panda by his fur and yell angrily about why they had to win last year even though only two people really participated that year in Yuta and Yunna making it practically a one sided affair.
"Hey." Everyone's attention turned to Maki as they could all hear the approaching footsteps of the Kyoto School's students. "Here they come." A roster of six walked up to the Tokyo branch of students with two of them being very familiar faces to Megumi and Nobara for all the wrong reasons.
"Is this supposed to be your idea of a welcome party? Gross." Mai Zenin teased not wasting a second to shit talk the opposing school despite the name of the event.
"I don't see Okkotsu, not even Yunna…" Aoi Todo said with a mixture of anger and disappointment. The fire inside him feared that this final event was going to be a disappointment as he already had a good idea of what the second years were like in terms of strength. Plus the embarrassing performance by Fushiguro when he jumped him not too long ago, unless that trump card he didn't get to see could truly challenge him he didn't see much of a reason to be excited this year.
"Oh shut your mouth already and hand over the cake box, yatsuhashi, noodles, and cookies." Nobara gestured for them and hand them the gifts that they definitely did not bring with them already pissed at seeing that shit head Mai's stupid face.
"Salmon." Inumaki stated.
"You two hungry or something?" Aoi Todo was quick to question.
"Woah who's that first year…? Scary…" The shortest of the Kyoto students was a blonde woman with her hair tied in two standing pigtails who held a broom in her hand which could only be assumed was part of her cursed technique. Her name was Momo Nishimiya, a third year student at Kyoto.
"Forget about Okkotsu, Todo. Isn't fielding two first years a handicap enough?" A brown plated robot wearing a Jujutsu student uniform gave its input and prompted Nobara to look in awe that Kyoto had a robot for a student, to be fair it was very cool. This was the Kyoto second year Ultimate Mechamaru, aka Kokichi Muta.
"Age is an irrelevant topic with sorcerers, especially Megumi Fushiguro. He is a Zenin after all, I'd say he's more reliable than the head of the family." The next sorcerer was a tall young man with his eyes completely shut and his hair kept in a orthodox style with two strands of hair wrapped in bandages. This was the third year Norotoshi Kamo, the current heir to the Kamo clan.
Mai growled at Kamo's comment which prompted a blue haired girl wearing a business suit to try and calm the tension between them down, after all their opponents were the Tokyo branch not themselves. This girl was Kasumi Miwa, second year at Kyoto and our final student bringing the Kyoto roster to six players.
Loud claps were heard from the stairs the Kyoto students came from as a calm voice attempted to sooth the tensions boiling between the two schools "Alright that's enough fighting. Seriously Nemesis what am I going to do with you kids." Two women made their way up the stairs, Nobara could recognize the giant woman clad in battle armor as she came in to pull the shit head Mai and the meathead Todo away from them not too long back. The woman in a white kimono and red skirt with a huge scar across her face not so much though, she had to be a teacher like that buff woman in armor.
"Let them trash talk Utahime, as long as they aren't throwing punches before the event properly starts it's fine." Nemesis told Utahime who reluctantly agreed "Now where's that idiot Gojo, how the hell are you late to an event you're hosting that blindfolded idiot…?"
"Satoru's running late." Panda said.
"Is that idiot ever on time for anything?" Maki exclaimed, annoyed.
"He didn't even say his name." Megumi mentioned.
But speak of the devil himself, the sound of rolling carts came into earshot as everyone stared at the said blindfolded idiot running down the path with an ear to ear smile. Gojo rolled past his students as they quickly sidestepped to get out of his way. "Sorry for the waaaaait!"
Utahime and Nemesis had near identical sneers at the arrival of Satoru Gojo while one of the Kyoto students, Miwa was completely star struck at the arrival of the strongest sorcerer. He parked his cases in the middle of the two groups of students and greeted everyone there "Glad to see everyone's here! I just got back from a huge business trip overseas so it's time to hand out the souvenirs!" On one of the cases were said souvenirs he handed out to the Kyoto students with mixed results. "Tribal charms for the Kyoto students. Except for you Utahime and Nemesis."
"I DON'T WANT ONE!" Utahime yelled at Satoru annoyed while Nemesis flipped him a middle finger.
"And for the Tokyo Students!" Gojo turned to the Tokyo branch of students who were less than excited about what they thought would be some crumby gift Gojo got them, Nobara couldn't help but be creeped out by Gojo's excitement as she felt overly excited adults were weird. Gojo unlocked the hatches of the two cases as the lids flew wide open, from the cases came two familiar faces who stuck over exaggerated poses.
"Hey! OPP!"
"Opp…"
The surprise was the long assumed dead Itadori Yuji and Melinoe! Both struck identical poses but it was clear one was more excited about the surprise than the other as Melinoe sort of awkwardly mirrored Itadori's pose. Gojo presented the two students to the rest of the Tokyo branch "It's your long dead pals Melinoe and Yuji!"
AND THE CROWD GOES MILD!
Both Megumi looked absolutely horrified to see the two and Nobara screamed in terror, quickly hiding behind an unamused Maki as Nobara lets out sounds of panic at the arrival of Melinoe. The entirety of Tokyo was not amused by the surprise in the slightest which confused Itadori because it seemed like a flawless plan "HUH?! THEY AREN'T HAPPY TO SEE US AT ALL?!"
"I told you this idea was idiotic." Melinoe dropped the pose and shared an unamused face as Gojo turned the two over to the Kyoto side.
"Okay everyone this is Sukuna's vessel Yuji Itadori and our resident goddess Melinoe." He informed as the Kyoto students weren't even paying attention to Itadori and Melinoe, instead were focused on their souvenirs which made Itadori feel even more embarrassed. But two pairs of eyes were quick to lock on with each other, the second she saw the green hair on a fiery wreath on Melinoe's head. Utahime saw Nemesis completely frozen in shock with her golden pupils the size of pindrops and her body visibly shaking, never once in her life has she seen Nemesis show anything close to a reaction such as this and she was quick to ask if something was wrong which she did not reply.
Once Gojo turned Melinoe and Yuji to face the Kyoto students Melinoe was quick to share the same type of reaction Nemesis had to seeing her, Melinoe's words got stuck in her throat and likewise with Nemesis. For Melinoe it's been almost two months but for Nemesis it had been more than a decade, Retribution incarnate knew about the appearance of Melinoe in the modern day but assumed she'd never have to see her again since she presumed her family was in the underworld. What reason would she even have to be at Jujutsu Tech, why in hell would that dumbass goddess show her face after all this time…
Just as Melinoe was going to say something to the goddess of Retribution the raspy voice of an old man angrily shouted at the arrival of Itadori Yuji "Sukuna's vessel lives?! Just who is behind this outrage?!"
"Huh?" Gojo looked over to see who it was and grew that cocky grin back on his face "Oh! Principal Gakuganji! Thank goodness you're alright, I thought the shock of seeing Yuji alive and well would have made you keel over and die, y'know from the shock."
Gakuganji did not find this amusing one bit "You insolent damn brat!" Gojo had no respect for any of the old farts they had as higher ups at Jujutsu Tech and Gakuganji was certainly no exception as The Strongest had fun playing with him the most.
Yuji and Melinoe were still as stiff as statues from a mixture of embarrassment and complete shock, that was until an angry Nobara went up and kicked Yuji's case accompanied by an equally as angry Megumi. "You got something to say…?"
Itadori was clearly nervous at Nobara's question not knowing what to say that would completely tick her off "I'm… sorry that.. I didn't tell you I was… alive all this time." Itadori whimpered.
"How could you not tell me… THAT MELINOE WAS ALIVE AFTER ALL THIS TIME!?" Nobara dove on Melinoe hugging her and sobbing into her shoulder as the red head put her arms around MElinoe and squeezed with all her might and nearly tripped the goddess over who didn't know how to react to all of this. "Where were you Mel!? -SNIFF- I missed you sooooo muuuuuuuch waaaaah!"
"I-I'm really sorry I had no way of contacting anyone on the outside Nobara, I only just came back a day ago!" Melinoe tried her best to comfort the crying Nobara along with trying not to fall as she still was standing in the case Gojo put her inside.
"R-really…?" Nobara looked up at Melinoe whose face was full of tears and her make up completely smeared all over her face.
"Promise, Nobara." Melinoe gave her a soft smile as Nobara rubbed her eyes and let the goddess go so she may get out of the case she was in.
"Glad to see you made some new friends, princess." Nemesis' voice pierced through the conversation as the four sorcerers in training looked towards the giant woman.
"It's nice to see you, Nemesis…" Melinoe couldn't help but feel awkward around Retribution incarnate, she had nearly forgotten how much she felt intimidated by her stare alone. Not to mention all that would need to be discussed with her regarding everything in the underworld. "You look well…"
"I see you decided to pick up some weights since the last time we talked so you don't look too bad yourself." She turned to look at the three other first year students who could immediately feel their hearts beat by her steely gaze. "Would you mind giving me and Melinoe some space, I just want to have a quick chat with her."
"Y-yes ma'am!" Nobara was quick to respond with the boys nodding in agreement.
"Come on." Nemesis gestured to Melinoe to walk with her, Melinoe couldn't help but feel her stomach turning as the two walked away from prying eyes so they could talk in private. Nobara meanwhile was still angry about Yuji and grabbed him by his hoodie as the second and first years went back to their dorms to discuss strategy and punishment for Yuji.
The two goddesses walked for a couple of minutes till they were successfully out of ear shot from everyone else. The two didn't say a word to each other until Nemesis stopped walking and turned her head to examine the area to make sure no one was truly watching or listening in. Melinoe turned to face her and started with the first thing on her mind "So Nemesis I recognize it's been awhile since we last met, it's sort of hard to believe you're here at all… I must admit I really missed you after all this time and I only wish I knew where you were soo- GAK!
Nemesis had punched Melinoe in the solar plexus with all of her strength she could put in a quick punch, Melinoe flew off the ground a tiny put and fell to the floor clutching her stomach and gasping for air. Nemesis looked down at the goddess completely disappointed as she knelt down and grabbed Melinoe by the hair. The new Goddess of the Dead winced at feeling her hair get pulled as she looked into Nemesis' eyes that showed no remorse for what she did. "What the fuck are you doing back here princess? You wanted to be like big brother Zagreus and stick it to daddy Hades and come back here? You got a lotta nerve showing your face around here."
"N-nem… I…I…" Melinoe still couldn't form proper words as the pain from Nemesis' punch prevented her from being able to say anything.
"I don't wanna hear it." Nemesis let go of Melinoe's hair as her face planted back onto the stone path. "I thought I was going mad hearing that you decided to show your face after all this time, it's because of you me and Eris were brought to this cursed future. Your pathetic ass has caused me enough trouble in the past and in the modern day." Nemesis stood back up and began to walk away from the heavily breathing goddess. "Do me a favor and go jump off a bridge, tell mother and the others I said hi."
Melinoe was on the ground for a few minutes more before she stumbled back onto her feet. Honestly, what kind of reaction should she have expected from Nemesis? She was always quick to anger and was very aggressive in the past but something else hurt more than the punch she delivered to Melinoe. Nemesis was angry with Melinoe for more reasons than Nemesis being Nemesis. Retribution Incarnate must have been another victim of her failure to defeat Chronos and as a result ended up in this cursed future alongside her, as much as Melinoe wants to talk it was clear Nemesis was not in the mood to see her, ever. She should probably head back to the dorms to check on the others, maybe catching up with Nobara and Megumi will help clear her mind…
…
Melinoe had a limped back to the Jujutsu Dorms as the pain from Nemesis' surprise strike against her still had her clutching her stomach, hopefully there wouldn't be a bruise left behind as it does take more than a single punch to leave visible damage on the goddess but with Nemesis' strength you could never be too sure. Upon arriving at the Tokyo branch of students meeting, well at the very least she arrived before any discussion began… Itadori was currently forced to hold up a picture frame against his head as if he were a photo at a funeral service. "Uh… guys, depending on the situation something like this could be considered extreme bullying…"
"Shut up…" A very angry Nobara demanded, after the little stunt Itadori pulled and playing with her feelings for nearly 2 months just to show up like that pissed her off to no end and nothing was going to change tha-
"Did I… miss something?" A very confused Melinoe asked as Nobara's sour expression quickly morphed into one of pure joy as everyone looked towards the arrival of the sorcerer goddess.
"MEL!"
"Why is Itadori holding a portrait to his head?"
"Kugisaki is mad at me…" Itadori said with a dumb little expression that Melinoe couldn't help but find it adorable.
"Now now." Melinoes eyes shifted to the large black and white creature she could only assume was some kind of bear. Wait, they have a talking bear? "You heard his explanation, we should cut him some slack."
"Salmon." Inumaki agreed.
"So I assume this is that girl who died near the end of July?" Maki asked as she got closer to the sorcerer goddess examining the once thought to be dead sorcerer. And in her opinion she doesn't look too bad of a fighter, she certainly is built like one but what really grabs her attention is that spectral arm of hers and those multi colored eyes.
Melinoe felt embarrassed once again being known as the dead girl, seriously was that her whole legacy with sorcerers? But she decided not to comment on it and simply saluted the second year sorcerers. "Correct, I'm Melinoe. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, I am to assume you are also a student here?"
"Yup, I'm Maki and over there are your other two seniors Panda and Inumaki." Maki pointed her thumb towards the two other unfamiliar sorcerers being the silver haired boy with his mouth hidden away and the black and white talking bear.
"Glad to have you back!" Panda welcomed with a wave.
"Mustard leaf, ghost pepper?" Inumaki asked Melinoe.
"O-oh that… well she just wanted to ask me a couple of questions, i-its nothing to worry about." Melinoe doesn't wish to talk about her little encounter with Nemesis, her body can take the hit but the emotional damage still lingers and she rather not explain it as she doesn't wish to burden anyone with the explanation.
"Salmon roe?" Inumaki's eyes widened.
"Of course I can, I have a friend who speaks in groans and another who spoke in echos. Really it's not too different from trying to understand them."
Maki was confused by what Melinoe was talking about as to her she seemed to be talking to no one. "Mel, what are you talking about?"
Melinoe turned her head feeling slightly embarrassed but explained what she was conversing with Inumaki about "Oh, apologies but Inumaki was just surprised I could understand him."
"Really? Impressive stuff newbie, usually takes a couple months to understand some of his vocabulary."
"For what reason does he talk in food items?"
"It's his cursed technique called cursed speech, certain words can be amplified to create powerful effects. For safety reasons he limits his vocabulary to mostly sushi ingredients."
"Incredible…" Melinoe mumbled in amazement of the power. Now that she thinks about it, what grade would she rank, I mean the power to use words as a weapon must be grade one material. How dangerous were her replicated boons compared to everyone else's amazing power?
"But enough of that, we're getting off track." Maki looked towards Yuji who has now abandoned her his portrait punishment. "Yuji, hand over Slaughter Demon." She demanded, holding out her hand to receive her weapon that Satoru 'borrowed' in the middle of the night without asking her while she was asleep. Yuji panicked as he knew exactly what happened to Slaughter Demon back then, not wanting to face Maki's wrath he just lied to her face.
"G-Gojo sendi has it…"
Maki made a tsk sound in annoyance "That blindfolded idiot."
"You could just use my blades, Maki. I'm pretty sure I have my staff Descura around here in my room." Melinoe, knowing full well what happened to the weapon, tried to calm the 2nd year down with a compromise.
"Just forget it, new girl." Maki said with an annoyed tone. "Okay what are we gonna do about our strategy?" Maki's question brought everyone's attention over to her. "We got two new members, do we change plans now? We don't got a lot of time."
"Well that really depends on Yuji and Melinoe's abilities." Panda noted "So what can you two do?"
"I punch and kick stuff really hard." Yuji flexed his arm.
Meanwhile Melinoe has wheeled in a white board she has got from somewhere and took a minute to draw a little chibi face of herself that was surrounded by the symbols of the olympians that helped her in her adventures through the underworld. She had labeled the symbols, thunder, water, ice, fire, forge, love, critical, engagement, light, and speed. "My cursed technique is essentially a roulette with the chances of any of these attributes activating. These boons also come with various other side effects such as being able to inflict more damage, having my defenses bolstered, temporary invulnerability, and more. Any questions?"
"Where did you get that whiteboard?" Megumi questioned.
"I found it."
Yuji raised his hand as if he was a kid in a classroom "How did you learn a technique, I was trying to do that for weeks!?"
"While I was dead. High stress situations and someone really annoying."
"So not much should change about our strategy right. We essentially have two more close range fighters?" Nobara turned to Maki.
"For those here before these two showed up, yeah. But there's someone important we need to talk about." For the two new arrivals they were confused on who Maki was referring to. Meanwhile everyone else knew fully well who was about to be mentioned as he literally punched Megumi through an entire tower not too long ago. "Yuji, you'll be handling someone named Aoi Todo. He's the largest of the Kyoto students with a large scar over his left eye. He's a handful to say the least and worst case scenario, our combined strength wouldn't be enough to take him down. So it'll be your job to stall him out."
"Yeah, I'll do it." Itadori nodded in acceptance of his role.
"Good, I was gonna have Panda or Megumi fight him but those are the only two who can help locate the enemy. You don't gotta win, just by us time."
"So what will you have me do?" Melinoe pointed at herself.
"Do what you want." Panda told her. "Really you and Yuji are extra players so it doesn't matter where you go or if you go down." Rude, but true.
"If that's the case I'd like to accompany Itadori."
"Tuna mayo?" Inumaki asked in concern of wanting to take part in such a dangerous task.
"I'll be fine, I've handled far worse." Melinoe reassured him. Something inside her wanted to make sure Yuji was protected, after all last time she had failed to save him from Sukuna's control being as weak as she was. But this time she's gonna make things right, the way they talk about Todo makes him up to be a larger than life threat to them, but she's dealt with far worse, fighting the Furies, the Hydra, Kashimo, and Nyx even in her weakened state. She has nothing to fear against a mortal sorcerer, except if their name is Satoru Gojo or Suguru Geto.
"Yeah we got this!" Yuji enthusiastically puts his arm around Melinoe which gets her to smile. Once again that smile is nothing but infectious, is that his secret cursed technique or something because it never fails to make her believe everything will be alright.
…
Nemesis after her little 'talk' with Melinoe making sure that she knew she didn't want the princess of the dead involved in the Jujutsu world much less the current world of the living. She was late to the strategy meeting with her students about how they were going to play this year, but with the arrival of Sukuna's vessel there's only one way this could possibly go. It was no surprise to her that the sliding door was kicked down by Todo with him yelling about Takada-chan again and threatening to kill them if they tell him what to do.
Good that he knows to think independently from what higher ups might think, she doesn't want him becoming a mindless drone that follows orders all the time instead of thinking for himself and questioning if what he's really doing is just. Some of her students could learn a thing or two from him but she can also recognize that sometimes he does things that are really smart right after can do something just extremely stupid.
As he walked away from the strategy meeting clearly pissed off, his expression seemed to lighten upon seeing Nemesis as the two walked up to each other. Nemesis was the first to ask a question "What was it this time?"
"It's all about Sukuna's vessel and how the old man wants us to waste him. It was stupid so I left." Todo explained
"Hm, figures they want him dead."
"Plus Takada is on in 10 minutes and I'm not missing that for anything."
"I will never understand your love for that woman." Nemesis chuckled and grew a soft smile on her face. Everyone at Kyoto knows exactly what Todo's type is since that's how he judges people, a part of her believes that she and Tsukumo had an influence on that after Tsukumo told Nemesis she does fit that archetype of a tall woman with a huge ass despite her denial of the fact. "But you're passionate about that woman so who am I to judge? So, what will you do?"
"Go watch Takada-chan."
"Not that, what are you gonna do about Sukuna's vessel?" Nemesis' golden eyes matched Todo's, who wasn't intimidated by her piercing gaze.
"I'll ask him his type then move on from there."
"Simple as always." She patted his shoulder. "But I do got a favor to ask you."
"Shoot."
"There's this one girl, Melinoe. Green hair, heterochromia, quite tall compared to the rest of the Tokyo kids. Do me a favor and ask her what her type is if you see her, I already know she swings both ways."
"Really? How do you know about that?" Todo raised his eyebrow.
"Oh, just a feeling." Not a feeling but a fact after remembering that embarrassing moment where both Moros and her admitted they were starting to grow feelings for Melinoe, a part of her is glad that she gave the answer that she chose not to be bound to anyone. It would have made seeing her again much harder than it was now where all Nemesis now holds is resentment. "But don't hold back against her even for a moment, otherwise she WILL kill you."
