The curtains were breezing in the air in Tess's bedroom. Tess was waking up and she saw that her phone was buzzing. When Tess checked it, there was a Facebook post, with pictures of their trip Tess was tagged in. Tess was going to help out at the daycare today, it was a summer volunteer one day offer and she would receive a first choice class pick for going. When she went into the kitchen, Sahara was making breakfast, Tess sat down and told Sahara her plans for the day.
When Tess arrived at the daycare the front doors were open, she went inside and registered with the front desk. They gave her a name tag and told her she would be working with the 6 weeks to 18 months group. Tess went into the room and the infants was where she started. The baby she was set to feed and burp was 3 months old. The baby looked at her and blew bubbles. While feeding the baby boy he fell asleep. Tess then watched and entertained the toddlers. When it was time to leave, Tess said goodbye and that she wouldn't be back over the summer.
When Tess went home she decided to go swimming. She was laying on her lounge when Kate and Riley showed up. Kate said they had something to ask her. Kate then told her that Riley's parents were going on vacation to visit his relatives, they lived in New Jersey. Riley's relatives had came to earth on the same ship that Riley's parents had. Tess asked when they were leaving, and Kate replied in a few days. Tess said she wanted to go, the plane ride would be a 12 hour were going for a week and they were going to be staying at Riley's family's house.
Tess Kate and Riley splashed around in the pool for a bit. She pushed Riley under the waterfall, and he dunked her head under the waterfall. Tess was backing away from Riley, when she almost ran into the swimming pool side, Riley held the water with a pull to stop her from hitting too hard.
Tess was getting ready for the trip to New Jersey three days later. She had most of her stuff packed and was waiting for Kate or Riley to call. Then she heard a car outside before Kate called to say they were there. When Tess got in the car, Kate told her they were meeting Riley's parents at the airport. At the airport they parked in the parking garage a few cars away from Riley's parents. After greeting each other, they started to walk into the building. they got their tickets, went through security and then waited for the plane to board. On the plane Tess, Riley, and Kate sat together, while his parents sat behind them. She talked to Kate about a magazine that was in the chair in front of her. The magazine had tips on how to have the perfect vacation, she told Kate that the research was getting better as the magazine aged. The take off and landing was smooth and then they were at the New Jersey and calling for a cab.
When they arrived at the family's, Tess met Riley's aunt and uncle. Tess, Kate and Riley all had their own room. After getting into bed, Tess thought it was different being on the side of the country, the clouds were more clear than at home. When Tess was falling asleep, she heard Riley sneak in, he got in with her, and said her didn't want her first night to be alone there. Tess cooed and snuggled with Riley as she fell asleep.
The next morning they had breakfast with the family, then Riley's aunt wanted to show them something from their landing on earth. She took them into the backyard and there was a big flower bed, about 12 feet. It was a piece of the inside of the ship and they made it into a flower bed in the backyard. They had wanted something that blended into it's surroundings, and after a couple drawings, that's what they came up with. Tess thanked her for showing them, she never saw what type of ship brought them to earth. They took another walk through the garden and there were many different flowers, some were brought over with them.
Later that day, they toured the area, there was ocean near by and Tess had wanted to see it. They went swimming in the ocean, it was salty and Tess was smacking her lips to get the salt off, when Riley leaned in to kiss the salt off. He took a few drops when he pulled away. She rubbed her finger over his lips after to wipe the salt off, then they played in the water, splashing each other and Kate. They headed home around diner time, going in the same direction the sun was going down.
