-Chapter 3, Subchapter 1: The First Day of School, Class 1A-
At the beginning of the first day at UA, Goku was dressed in his UA uniform: A uniform of a white undershirt, red tie, with a green pair of pants and a grey blazer, befitting that of a salary man. He wore his tie a bit too loose and his outfit was tight on his body. As to what he should do with his tail, he elected to use it as an impromptu belt. Soon, he meets up with Izuku and Ochako proper, themselves also in their school uniforms. For Izuku, he can't help but look at Uraraka, she looked too cute in the female uniform.
"Hey, Goku-kun!" Ochaku said with a warm smile. "Thanks again for your help at the Practical Exam! If it weren't for you and Deku-kun, I would have been in serious trouble!"
"A-actually, my name is Izuku Midoriya... K-Kacchan calls me that, because it means 'dummy'..." Izuku revealed. The brown-haired girl was shocked, then saddened that she said it so happily. As for Goku, his gears were turning as he was remembering.
"I'm so sorry, M-Midoriya-Kun!" she said a bit hasty. "I-I didn't know it meant that!"
"Y-you're fine, Uraraka-san... Though when you say it... it actually doesn't feel that bad." the green-haired said, as the girl had a lightbulb.
"It kinda sounds like Deriku! Like 'don't give up!'" Ochako bumped her fist triumphantly, Midoriya smiled. Seeing an opening, Goku comes back in.
"So you're the same Midoriya that All Might was talking about!" Goku gleamed with a bright smile at Midoriya's direction. "Man, that punch was intense! I don't think even I could have done that!"
"D-Don't discourage yourself, Son-san!" He replied, still a bit stuttery, but a fair bit more confident. "You were moving like a blur and taking out those robots like they were made out of paper!" Goku chuckled as he said that, scratching the back of his head.
"I'm sorry I spaced out on you, Uraraka, but I was just doing what was right! It was just how my parents raised me, to help others if they're in trouble!" he said, with a smile on his face, she smiles brightly and nods in appreciation.
"Anyways, we should go and find Room 1-A before we're late," Izuku reminded, as the two followed him.
It took a while going through the labyrinth of hallways that made up that glass H building, but they soon found themselves at the giant door to Class 1A. Upon opening the door...
"Bakugou-kun! Put you feet off those desks! Such an action besmirches the upperclassmen that came before us, in addition to the craftsman who made it!" the blue-haired teen said as the blonde kid, not caring about what he's doing.
"You're seriously annoying! What kind of middle school did you come from, you extra!?" The blonde, who is Bakugou, said.
"Let's start over... I am Somei Private Academy, and my name is Tenya Iida," Tenya introduced himself.
"Heh, an elitist? I'll enjoy piledriving you into the ground!" Bakugou said, with only a smirk on his face.
"Unbelievable... You're going to be a Hero...?" the blue teen said quietly, before his eyes darted to the three, and he approached the three. "I'm from Somei-"
"D-Don't repeat yourself, we heard you," Midoriya interrupted. "I-I'm Izuku Midoriya, nice to meet you."
"I'm Son Goku!" Goku spoke up, a bit louder. Tenya studied the two.
"Midoriya... and Son... You two perceived the true nature of the Exam!" Iida announced.
"Eh?" the two boys said, while Uraraka chuckled, her movement causing the three to go in.
"I will admit, you two are far superior!" He continued on.
"N-No! I didn't perceive anything!" Midoriya tried to just take his seat. And while Iida was confused, he did let the three go and find their desk.
Bakugou, whom Goku could only assume is "Kacchan" as Izuku called him, shot daggers at the two as they take their seat. Unfortunately for the Saiyan, he just had to have the seat directly behind Bakugou.
"Man, that guy's a grump!" Goku bemoans. The gall of this bumpkin... dismissing him as just a "grump" because he only had 56 points while he had 77?!
"I'll kill you, you worthless piece of monkey trash!" he yells, as he turns around to face him. His classmate's eyes narrowing on the blonde kid, as if to challenge him.
"I prefer being called 'Goku' or 'Son Goku', thank you very much," Goku shot back, still seated.
"Kacchan, no!" Izuku yelled, trying to move between the two.
But then the three felt a red glare fall upon them as the two Aldera boys returned to their seats. A tall, perpetually tired man comes in, and the class hushes. He wore an attire that all black and has a truly large scarf resting on his shoulders, partially obscuring his mouth, alongside a sleeping bag in his arm. For some reason, Goku's back tingled as he looked at the glare.
"He must be a pro... Though I can't exactly put my finger on who he is..." Midoriya mumbled as quietly as possible to himself. However, a quick glare stopped him from mumbling any longer
"That's enough rowdiness for today, class. Such a thing is irrational and will only serve to hurt you in the long run. I am Shota Aizawa, and I'll be your home room teacher." Shota said. "Now, get into your gym clothes, and head out to the grounds."
This had gotten the class confused, however, Aizawa started to elaborate.
"Hero work isn't all fun and games, as some of you may have read online. The Principal had allowed me and my coworkers to teach in any way we want as part of our freestyle teaching policies. Orientation, as your middle schools have done them and as UA does it, is a waste of precious time if any of you aren't worthy. This test of your Quirks will make sure you're proven to stay in my class. It's one thing to be able to defeat machines, as my colleagues deemed to be worthy enough, it's another thing entirely to have the potential to stay in my class," he continued. "Meet me down on the grounds in ten minutes."
-The Quirk Apprehension Test: Enter Mr. Aizawa-
"Good, you're all here on-time. Compared to the last class, you're already doing better. The first challenge is the fifty-meter dash. Unlike middle school, where you all are expected perform these exercises without your Quirks, you will use your Quirks in conjunction, so that I may have a baseline for your potential. Son Goku is an anomaly, as he was home schooled instead, " Aizawa remarked, as he summons a baseball-like instrument in his hands.
"Speaking of such, before we get started, as Son finished first in the Entrance Exam, he will the first to pitch the ball. Throw it as far as you can so that I may gauge your Quirk potential. Do it how you want, but stay in the circle," Aizawa instructs. Goku, feeling the eyes on his back approaches the circle, with the teacher handing his student the ball.
Goku starts to breathe gently, his mind clearing as he winds up a pitch, his tail relaxing and extending outward, and as Aizawa's irises flash a menacing red, he throws the ball. Despite the glare, the ball rocketed away from the area, eventually landing 1.4km away, subtly shocking the teacher as he holds the result up to the rest of the class. "Goku's pitch landed one point four kilometers away," he read out.
"That's his pitching strength?!" an invisible girl remarked.
"I expected no less than someone who can punch robots in the face with no trouble!" a familiar red-haired teen spoke out.
"This'll be so fun!" a pink girl excitedly said.
"We get to do anything we want!" A dirty blonde guy yelled in excitement. Out of all the clamoring, the pink teen's comment struck a nerve with the teacher.
"Fun, is it? I had neglected to mention this before Son Goku's pitch. The person who ends up in last place will be expelled. Do not disappoint me." Aizawa warned as he glared yet again, everyone stops talking in silence, Izuku turning deathly pale.
"Wait a second, this is not very fair! It's just our first day!" Uraraka complained. However, Aizawa was ready for this kind of action, having seen this many times in his tenure as 1A's Homeroom.
"Hmph, and you'd think that natural disasters are fair? That Villains are fair?" Aizawa continued. "Such an irrational way to think, Uraraka... Hero work isn't ever easy, it won't always end with you and your friends meeting up at a McDonald's for a job well done. And UA will make sure to put all of you through the wringer, so that you all will be the best possible selves you all can be." He then showcased a truly horrifying grin. It was one that would preclude a schadenfreude.
"That is the truth of Plus Ultra. Now, let's begin our test."
And so, the Quirk Apprehension Test begins. The first event was the Fifty Meter Dash. With Izuku, he can only feel despair as he remembers what will happen when he uses his Quirk. For Goku, however, it was an eye-opener for all kinds of Quirks and techniques!
Tenya and a frog girl start the proceedings, with a robot holding a blank gun at the end and sensors in his body. On the first firing, Tenya speeds through the dash, earning a 3.04 second record. For the frog girl, identified as Asui Tsuyu by the robot, she has a respectable 5.58 seconds, while she simply ribbits.
"Taking like a fish to water. Good. Uraraka, Ojiro, you're up next," Aizawa said, not very impressed.
Uraraka and Ojiro readied themselves. She touches her own clothing and shoes, and the two race forward. However, she lagged behind the thick tailed teen, whose giant tail allowed him to rhythmically leap across the finish line in 5.72 seconds, with her finishing in 7.15 seconds.
Next up was the race between the pretty boy teen and the pink girl, who go by Yuga Aoyama and Mina Ashido.
"This will be a magnificant race, non?" The pretty boy spoke. "It'll be my magnificent plan that'll blow everyone out of the water!"
"Don't underestimate my Acid, pretty boy!" The pink girl hyped herself up. As soon as the robot shot, there was a laser blast from his naval, while the girl used her own acid to skate on. It was neck and neck, though, with both of them having passed the line at 5.5 seconds.
Next up, it was Goku, before he glances over to see his opponent. To his surprise, it was Momo Yaoyorozu. In turn, she was surprised to see him.
"So, just like old times, eh, Yaoyorozu?" Goku asked.
"What an odd coincidence... Son, was it?" Yaoyorozu replied, before she shook it off. "We'll get to pleasantries after our tests."
As soon as the blank fired, Goku was fired up, running as fast as he can, Momo Creating herself a motorized scooter to try to catch up, but she couldn't break the lead. He gotten a time of 3.14 seconds, with his opponent having a time of 3.71 seconds.
The two-haired student, Shoto Todoroki, faced off against the grape-haired student, Minoru Mineta. With a freezing cold wave allowing him to skate, he had achieved a time of 4.14 seconds, while his opponent has a measly 6.96 second time. In essence, Shoto's technique beats out Mina's version by a second and a half.
Next up was a race between the girl with earjacks, Kyoka Jiro, and a multi-armed man, Mezo Shoji. Despite the latter's size, he was shockingly fast, being able to pull out with a 6.32 second time. Jiro was only able to get a 6.64 second time.
Third to last was a race between the bird-headed guy who goes by Fumikage Tokoyami, and the red-haired guy, Ejiro Kirishima. Though slower by a fair margin, Tokoyami finished his race in 5.80 seconds, with Kirishima taking 6.75 seconds.
Second to Final was a marked race between Izuku Midoriya and Katsuki Bakugou. The race ends with an bang, with the blonde beating out the icy student's time by only 0.01 seconds. For Midoriya, however, he only got a time of 7.02.
During this entire time, Aizawa had been laser focused on three students: Izuku Midoriya, Shoto Todoroki, and Son Goku. For Midoriya, he knows that he is much faster than what he's showcasing. He saw his Entrance Exam performance. For Shoto, he noted that he's not using his second half for some irrational reason. As for Goku, he noted something unusual on that one's person: His wristbands and anklets have weights in them. He had entirely forgotten about Toru Hagakure and Koji Koda's race. Though seeing the both of them near the bottom rung with a 7.11 and a 7.04, he shrugged.
The other events start to showcase some of the more unique abilities of Class 1A. In the Grip Strength test, Shoji was able to squeeze out a 540 kg result, Koji able to get a deceptively strong 323 kg result. And while a lot of the 1A group were still only getting within the ranges of 74-201 kg range, Midoriya has only a 54 kg result, Mineta about 44 kg, and Goku a whopping 481 kg. With the Standing Long Jump, despite his weights, Goku was still able to jump past the sandbox, however, he had left a very small crater where he landed due to his weights, though he also was interested in seeing Aoyama's Laser and Bakugou's explosions, specifically how they were used to propel themselves. Sadly, Midoriya's jump still only kept him in the sandbox. The Side Jumps afterwards continued to show results for Aizawa that was an emerging pattern: Shoto was holding himself back deliberately, Goku was holding himself back because of his gear that he knows must be fitted with weights, and Midoriya was holding himself back because his Quirk is self-destructive. Those latter two, he will nip in the bud soon, but his most immediate bud was Midoriya.
Finally, in comes Throwing, right in the middle of the test. It went in sequential order, Katsuki pitching second. A wind up and an explosion, he cursed himself as he saw that his baseball was only 705.2 meters out. Normally, such a record would be impressive for a First-Year, but this year had just started and it's barely even normal. Yaoyorozu used a cannon to fire her pitch, and it did land further ahead, at about 1.2 km. With the creative use of his Engines, Tenya used angular momentum to cast his ball 521.5 meters away. However, it was time for Midoriya's turn.
At first, he tries to use his entire arm, crackling with red cracks, only for Aizawa to stop him with his Erase Quirk.
"Izuku Midoriya, your Quirk is powerful, but it's useless if you need to be rescued because you break your body after a single use. You will not be a hero like that," He glares as he uses one wrap of his Cloth to bring him closer.
The students looked anxiously at Izuku, while Goku looked at him with hope in his eyes. All Might spied from afar, also turning a similar pale. Soon, Aizawa released Midoriya and blinks to deactivate his Quirk.
"Your Quirk is back. Now, pitch the ball again, and this time, make sure you can move. Otherwise, you will have no potential."
The next pitch by the green-haired kid went off much better, as he used his Quirk in his fingertip to reach a Hero-like record of 705.3 meters, pleasantly surprising the Eraser Hero.
"That's a Hero record!" Ochako said with excitement. His monkey-tailed friend was beaming with joy, and much of the student body was happy to see that Izuku had been able to control his Quirk to limit the damage on himself.
"I can still move, Aizawa-sensei!" Izuku declared. Despite his rough exterior, Aizawa can't help but show a smile for this particular problem child. Even he's got some potential, it seems like!
Aside from Katsuki attempting an attack on him and getting wrapped up in his teacher's Capture Cloth, the rest of the pitches come to an end and the scattered remaining exercises came to an end, with Goku patting Izuku on his back, alongside Ochako and Tenya assuring him he did well. The final three tests, with little surprise, Goku dominated. Pull-ups, Sit-ups, and plenty of juice made sure of that one.
"That concludes our Quirk Apprehension Test. I'll show you the results soon. However, before I do so, I had neglected to state that the expulsion threat was a lie, a logical ruse to make sure you gave it your all." Aizawa said, a humongous, shit-eating grin emitting from this perpetually tired frame.
Everyone aside from Momo looked flabbergasted and relieved at the deception.
"It should have been obvious from the start," Momo said, a bit annoyed. "However, I can't argue with the results of spouting such a falsehood."
He showcases the results to the body. Midoriya was dead last, and Goku scored first due to his sheer strength and agility making him well-rounded. Momo Yaoyorozu, with a second place score, looked at Goku in curiosity. Before she thought any deeper, she looked at Aizawa as he started to speak again.
"However, I will not accept anybody holding back. Especially you two, Shoto Todoroki and Son Goku," Aizawa glared at the red and white-haired kid. Shoto simply looked elsewhere, not concerned about his opinions. Goku felt himself scratching the back of his head and giggling, while the rest of the class looked shocked at him.
"Specifically, your wristbands and anklets, Son. Whatever they are, they only limit your movements. Take them off, and do the first five tests again," Aizawa commanded.
"Oh, you noticed my weighted clothing?" Goku said rather casually. Wait, weighted clothing? Thought everyone else. the first to go was his gym jacket, revealing a plain blue undershirt. However, it took a while for Goku to take off the shirt. Needless to say, they were not ready to see how well-developed Goku's muscles were, though that thought was smashed when his shirt made the ground crack!
"Wait, you had an entire weighted undershirt on, as well...?" Aizawa was perplexed. Why in the love of all things holy was Goku wearing weights on him?!
"I'll get those, Son," Midoriya offered, but when he grabbed the shirt, he paled even more as he can barely budge the shirt. "W-What the-?!" With enough effort, he was able to barely lift the shirt with both arms. "I-It feels like I'm carrying twenty-five kilograms!" The class gasped. Why is Goku wearing twenty-five kilograms on his shirt alone?! Uraraka decided to help her friend, using her Uravity to nullify the weight.
Goku then slipped off his wristbands, each making small thuds as well, finally taking off his anklets. Before he can even think of giving them to Midoriya, she used Uravity on them as well, as she's startled. The wristbands and anklets all weighed in at a combined sixty kilograms. While the full gear was less than what he wore before the Entrance Exam, it would be enough to still train constantly.
"Goku-kun, if what I'm feeling is true, you are wearing eighty-five kilograms worth of weights on you!" Uraraka said, with her classmates gasping yet again.
"Yep!" Goku simply replied, as he starts stretching again. "I wanted to train myself even more, so my dad got me weighted clothing!" He explained, Aizawa was too flabbergasted to even think about nullifying Uravity, before the clothes were set away from the grounds and releasing them. "Alright, Mr. Aizawa, let's do this!"
Event 1. Goku's time, pre-weights: 3.14 seconds. Post-weights: 2.45 seconds.
Event 2. Goku's weight, pre-weights: 481 kg. Post-weights: 718 kg.
Event 3. Goku's distance was well and truly beyond the sandbox, about ten meters away. Before, there was a meter between the box and the crater Goku made.
Event 4. Goku's side-jumps went from 16 jumps/second up to 31 jumps/second.
Event 5. Goku's throw, pre-weights: 1.4km. post-weights: 2km on the dot.
Needless to say, no one was prepared to have seen his performance. Even the powerhouses, like Katsuki and Shoto, broke in a cold sweat. Not even Aizawa had anything to say, he was genuinely shocked with this one. What snapped him out was a student asking a question.
"Will this mean we have to wear weighted clothing like Son?" Kirishima asked. "It seemed whatever that did made him manly!"
"No, Kirishima. You do not have to wear weighted clothing like Son, at least not this year," Aizawa responded immediately. "Though I might decide to make it a punishment. Midoriya, take this slip, you'll need to see Recovery Girl for that finger. The rest of you are free to go, your curriculum is on my desk, except for Son Goku. I need to talk with you, out here." Everyone left, Midoriya having to take the ticket. Goku was face-to-face, alone and confused.
"What's the problem, Aizawa-sensei?" the monkey-tailed teen asks.
"...Are you absolutely certain this weighted clothing stuff isn't a punishment? Why do you even do that to yourself?" Aizawa said.
"It's genuinely just how I train myself, Aizawa-sensei!" Goku said, though he only has a stink eye response. "I started around eight, I think. My father didn't want me to do Vigilante work-"
"Wait... You were a Vigilante when you were eight?!" Aizawa was surprised, but then the puzzle pieces fell into place. Now that he's got a better look, that hair should have been a dead ringer. And then a trademark grin came back. "Oh, Kid Kong, isn't it? You really were a problem child in your time."
"I learned my lesson from that phase, and to help exhaust more of my energy so I can grow stronger, my father got me a set of weighted clothing to wear for as long as I felt comfortable with, as long as I took my baths. At first, it didn't do any good since I struggled with all the weights, but then, I could wear it for days on end. Even in my sleep, I could wear it and function like everyone else!" What Goku was saying was the truth, and that simply confounded his teacher even more.
"...Unbelievable." Aizawa sighed, he simply had enough. "Son, please stop hold yourself back in front of your classmates. It will discourage them, and they may take it personally against you. And while you feel comfortable with those weights, I don't want you torturing yourself just to get stronger, since it's just irrational to destroy your body like that. I'll excuse you, but please consider our discussion from now on. I want you to give it your all, but I do not want you to destroy yourself."
"Alright, Aizawa-sensei, I'll keep what you said in mind," Goku grabs his weighted clothing, barely even recognizing the weights before making his way back, but he was shocked when he was stopped by All Might himself when he entered the school.
"I am honored to finally meet you in the flesh, Young Son Goku. I had seen how you did in Aizawa-sensei's impromptu orientation, and I see that my predictions on your potential were not unfounded! Actually... They've exceeded even my own lofty expectations! Weighted clothing to train yourself every moment, I just hope you've given your body a proper rest! Regardless, even you can go beyond still!" The No. 1 Hero belted out a laugh.
Goku was starstruck, but he soon was on his way back to 1-A as the No. 1 Hero went outside, probably to speak to Mr. Aizawa, his grin lessening since that threat wasn't a lie, at least that's what the First Years of last year said.
The students of 1A were talking, messing around and being teenagers when Goku came in. Silence took hold, as they looked at him. Many were in shock and awe with how he's able to keep up with them by his pure physical might, while Katsuki was staring daggers at him, and Momo and Shoto looked at him with a stoic expression on their faces, though with the former having a betrayed interest in her classmate. As for Shoto, it looked more like he wants to stop Goku from destroying himself, that "weighted clothing" skit sounds too much like what his father would do.
"His speed is absolutely crazy!" "Even that weird glare thing Aizawa did didn't scare Son! He must be fearless!" "Of course, it's the same guy that scored 135 points at the Entrance Exam, he's a manly kind of man!"
He isn't really the type to talk that much, though the acknowledging waves were enough for now. After sitting down and looking over the curriculum for this school year, the bell rings. Was it really the end of the first day of school? Time seriously flew by.
Goku, Ochako, and Tenya see Izuki heading towards them, the former two waving happily while the latter has a finger wrapped up.
"Hey Son-san, Uraraka-san, Iida-san!" Izuku said, pretty happy, but having his index finger tied to his middle finger, along with a small lipstick mark where Recovery Girl kissed him.
"Deku-kun!" Ochako blurted out, a bit worried about his broken finger. "Is your finger okay?"
"How is your finger, Midoriya-kun?" Tenya also asked.
"Oh, it'll be fine, but I need to get better at managing my Quirk..." The green-haired teen's expression soured a little upon saying those words, feeling disappointed.
"Hmm? Oh yeah, now that you mentioned it, you broke your arm and your legs because you couldn't use your Quirk effectively in the Entrance Exam!" Goku chimed in, unashamedly as he didn't think in the moment on how his classmate would respond.
"Y-yeah..." Izuku said in a hushed voice, retreating himself inside his uniform. Of course, Tenya didn't look too amused at Goku's lack of tact, especially with that weighted clothing stunt.
"It reminds me when I trained as a kid! My martial arts teachers often talked about managing my power so that I could fight on par with the other kids and some of the adults in the class! Otherwise, it'll be as easy as smashing an egg!" He spoke rather lightly.
"Fight on par with adults, otherwise they'll be smashed like eggs?!" Goku's two friends said in shock, Tenya's face was pale at the prospect, of this tiny Goku easily breaking an adult's body because he couldn't control himself.
The green-haired kid was thinking about power control, but how...? It seemed binary how his power worked, either he can go full tilt or not at all, like a light switch! What if... he treated it more like a light slider, or perhaps a microwave with some kind of treat in there? If he trains a little, he can find his safe limits! He internalizes Goku's comment about power management, as he hopes he can find his own limits tonight, or else he'll be significantly disadvantaged against everyone. Goku, however, seemed to be on a whole other level.
"Ah, that's why you were able to take apart these robots during the Entrance Exam with ease, Son-kun!" Tenya exclaimed, having shaken off the horror and trying to find a way back into the conversation. "Well, that and your... unusual training regimen."
"Yep! But seriously, there were so many cool abilities I saw! Like your floaty touch, Uraraka! Your fast legs, Iida! Bakugou's Explosions! Aoyama's lasers! And that Todoroki guy's ice was like no other!" Goku gushed over.
"I-It makes sense, Todoroki was recommended by Endeavor, the No. 2 Hero," Midoriya mused, before he started to mutter himself on all the Quirks he saw, "...so many notes to take, so little time...!"
"Oh! I can't wait until we get to fight, it'll be so much fun! You all better be ready, because I won't have my weighted clothing on anymore!" Goku said, his child-like giddy getting him excited to think about the fights with his classmates. They aren't just low hanging Villains with lame Quirks, they were people with powerful Quirks! There's something within him that flared, that thing craving more fights, and a lot of his classmates have that spirit!
"See ya tomorrow, Iida-kun! Goku-kun! Deku-kun!" Ochako said as she left.
"Goodbye for now, Uraraka-kun, Son-kun, and Midoriya-kun!" Tenya bowed before he left.
"I'll see you tomorrow, Uraraka-san and Iida-san! And I'll consider what you said, Son-san!" Midoriya chimed, as he left.
"See ya later!" Goku bluntly yelled to his friends, before he went home. Despite the scoldings of Mr. Aizawa, his first day went fantastic, and he had such a fantastical story to tell to his parents, happy that Goku had taken well to the school life, and a little worried about the weighted clothing kerfuffle. However, that was an easy fix: simply don't have them on school grounds. And while Goku was not very happy, he does admit that he's gotta stop holding himself back unreasonably.
AN: For a lot of this part, a good chunk of the story would likely stay the same, just replacing Sato with Goku. However, Sato is still in UA, he's just in Class 1-B. Unfortunately, Mineta has more importance tied to him in the early game than Sugarman, so it was easy enough to replace the poor stronk sugarlover. Not to worry, his delicious ass cakes will still be here.
