-Chapter 11: Stains and Apes-
During a normal day of training, Goku and Nejire were chasing each other by flying around. Ryukyu gently smiled at this playful bit of training, seeing how Goku is using his energy to allow himself a truly staggering burst of speed or when he uses it to turn on a dime. And while her normal flying speed is still slightly faster, his normal flying speed is almost matching her's. It seems like when the monkey-tailed teen witnesses something happening, his body starts to adapt to further improve his own latent abilities. However, soon, there was a phone call in the main office, requiring her to answer.
"I'll be right back. Continue your training," Ryukyu spoke before she left the two to their own devices.
"Jeez, Goku, you've improved so much over the last few days!" Nejire said with joy. "Your energy regulation's getting better, your flight is getting faster, even your Kamehameha's not draining you so badly! I guess that weird pair of boots, wristbands, and t-shirt paid off!"
"Heheh... I really got you and Ryukyu to thank for that, Nejire!" Goku replied, barely missing the speeding 3A student. "Though I hope I can reach your proficiency!"
"I'm almost certain you will," The bubbly girl remarked. "Though I should train some more so I won't end up biting your dust!"
The two soon land, an idea popping into Nejire's head.
"Actually, I had been meaning to ask, but what would happen if your Kamehameha and my Nejire Waves combined?" She was curious. Now Goku was curious.
"I'm... not sure...? Maybe we could try?" He asked.
"I don't see why not! Just aim up at that target!" she pointed to a target high above. Goku looks as he does his motions, a bright blue orb growing in his palms. Thanks to his training, unlike the Sports Festival, its existence didn't cause the earth to quiver, as she starts charging her Nejire Wave.
"Kamehame..." Goku yelled.
"Nejire..." Nejire yelled in conjunction.
"HAAAAA!" and "WAAAAAAVE!" echoed as the two fired their beams. At first, the two beams traveled in parallel, However, soon the Kamehameha slipped into the coils of the Nejire Wave, the power of the two piercing through the target... And subsequently going right through the wall like hot butter. The beam lost its power rapidly as it traveled further out, but the two felt incredibly pale, their eyes as wide as saucers.
"...Maybe it'll be for the best we never do that again." Goku was unnerved.
"Yeah... same," Nejire spoke in that same unnerved tone. However, soon enough, their superior has come back.
"We're needed over in Hosu," Ryukyu spoke. "Manual has been incapacitated, though Endeavor is in the area. Apparently, a third Hero was just riding through when their train got attacked, but I cannot ascertain as to who they are or their current condition, but we are to assume they are incapacitated."
"Wait, what's going on?" Goku asked, looking concerned.
"The League have attacked Hosu. And from what they are saying, there's three Villains refered to as 'Nomu'." Ryukyu clarified. However, Goku felt petrified upon hearing that there's more of those things.
"W...What...?" Goku silently said in disbelief. He still remembers the first Nomu that he fought all too well. The overwhelming strength, the beast's nigh invulnerable stature, coupled with its unreal regenerative properties. Most of all, he still remembers when it almost killed All Might with Kurogiri, not to mention how close he was himself to death. However, that wrath starts to bleed into his form, his eyes gaining a slight yellow iris again.
"Goku, what's wrong?" Nejire approached, only for that yellow iris to pierce her eyes with his teeth baring, startling her. With his willpower, he meditated as his wrath dissipates, though it took considerable effort to reign it in.
"I'm sorry, Nejire," Goku said, panting. "I... don't want my friend Iida to nearly die like All Might had with those things."
"I can understand why you feel that way, Goku," Ryukyu patted her student's shoulder. "However, we'll need to prioritize evacuating the ward over fighting those creatures. Endeavor is not one to give up fighting them. As long as we have a plan, everything will be alright. That is a promise I will not break."
"Yeah, that sounds good," the Saiyan started to calm down from the anger, though its embers were ready to burst forth at a moment's notice. Nejire smiled sadly.
"Goku... It'll be alright. Ryukyu-chan and I can do the heavy lifting!" She remarks as she looked at his tail. It went from twitching anger back to a gentle sway, before it wrapped itself around his waist, causing her to stiffle a giggle.
"Regardless, we'll give you an earpiece. If we see anything from the sky, we'll let you know. Otherwise, stay far away from the danger zone and help evacuate people," the Dragoon Heroine said, as she leaves the training grounds. "I know this may seem dangerous, but Hero work is inherently dangerous. And the main reason why I'm entrusting you with this task is not only because this will help in your training, I believe that you're ready to handle an evacuation."
Nejire follows shortly after, with Goku going to his bag to change into his Hero Costume. After equipping the Saiyan with an earpiece tuned to their frequency, the trio leave the agency building, heading off west via bullet train heading to the outskirts of Hosu.
Tomura looked at the carnage going on over in Hosu from the safety of his hideout. Totally pissed off at the rejection of his offer by Stain, Sensei had allowed him to release three Nomu into the city. The pale man scratched his neck, almost causing it to bleed over the anxious feeling he's gotten.
"People like Stain, they are useful for their ideologies. However, they aren't all that good as Villains. Care to explain to me why, my dear Shigaraki?" Sensei asked his pupil.
"That's got to be obvious... infuriatingly so. Those NPCs are so rooted to their ideologies that they will not break it, even if there's legendary awards at the end of the mission," Tomura replied.
"That's a well read answer, and you're correct. No matter what possible reward they could gain from it, if a person truly believes in their ideologies, they are as stiff as a mountain. And he just proved it, though he may help us even with this rejection."
"Wait, how?!" Shigaraki was frustrated. However, there was a smirk growing on the figure's face.
"Because of how he had impacted Hero Society as a whole, down to that fancy "Hero-Killer" title, those sheeple will believe him to be a part of our organization. He will bring us our query. You just need more patience and foresight, my boy," Sensei said, as calm as a breeze.
"I hadn't thought of it like that, Sensei..." the pale man pondered a bit. "What else should we do?"
"We'll just let the Heroes clean up the city, as they usually do. If they kill Stain, then they are shown as being no better than hypocrites with bleeding hearts. If the Nomu eliminates all our Hero friends, then it's a job well done. If those three die instead, then that's just more data to help them become better. We win no matter how they react, Tomura."
"Hope those useful mid-grade bosses can kill that pathetic swordsman before I get my hands on him again..."
Tenya Iida had the thought of Stain overwhelming him ever since he saw his brother, his inspiration, broken beyond repair by that monster. However, those red flags that Aizawa didn't catch immediately, Manual spotted them during a patrol.
"Hey, so why did you come all the way to Hosu? Considering your pedigree, you could have chosen anywhere else! Regardless, I'm glad you decided to conduct your work-study under me," Manual commented innocently, though his eyes told his student that he knows exactly why. "However, I could guess why. You're trying to hunt down the Hero Killer, aren't you?"
That line froze Tenya.
"I get it, Iida. When the news broke that Ingenium was maimed by him, it broke my heart. A fine gentleman such as him doesn't deserve such a grisly fate. But all the same, don't allow your personal grudges to make all your decisions. It was because of Rhode Island that Heroes were allowed to punish injustices instead of an unknown that could make or break society. I implore you, please do not chase after him. However, I'm not implying he should be allowed to roam free, because he should pay for his crimes. I'm just seriously worried because of that look in your eyes!"
"...I appreciate your concerns, Manual," Tenya replied in a hush tone. However, he cannot help this feeling of helplessness. That helplessness that his brother is going to be permanently out of commission due to Stain. That helplessness turned to vengeance. Soon, there were tremors and distant booms in the distance.
"What is up with today...?" Manual said to himself quietly. "Iida! On me! We're running to the scene!"
However, the wandering eyes of the younger Iida brother spotted a scene near an alleyway. He runs in, seeing another Hero -dressed in what seems to be Native American garbs- in the grip of the man in red and black.
"Such flashiness..." Stain looked at Tenya with a bored expression. "I'll deal with you soon. For now..." he brings a knife towards the Native American Hero. "You'll die for your sins."
"D-Damn it... I can't... move...!" Native sputtered. "You... bastard...!"
"Tsk tsk tsk. Such a dirty word for a Hero. But I suppose it fits that filth would use such words," Stain cooed. Tenya charges in, but the Villain simply lowered Native and when he swung his arm, it caught Tenya's head, knocking the boy down.
"What are you doing, kid? You know that the back alleys are a bad place for kids like you to end up," He spoke towards his opponent, getting up.
"A red scarf, armed to the teeth with blades... You're the Hero Killer, are you not?!" Tenya shot a glare at the vigilante, who noticed the formerly helmeted person was a teenager. "I have been pursuing you, but I haven't expected to see you so soon! I am-" Before the vengeful Iida can finish his sentence, his eyes see a katana pointed right at him.
"Hmph. Your eyes, I can tell that you're looking for vengeance. I will just give you this one warning, kid. Turn around, or else I will kill you." Stain looked at the teen.
"So, I'm just a 'kid' to you?" Tenya said with a dark tone. "Not even that much of a threat? Listen up now, criminal. I am the younger brother of a Hero you mercilessly maimed... A Hero even among his fellow Heroes! So remember this name, for what little time you have left. I am Ingenium! And I will be the one to take you down!"
Stain looked at the boy, before his gaze sharpened.
"So, you're that type of Hero, even as a kid, no different to that fake Hero... You will be culled for your selfishness."
Immediately, the duel commenced with a rapid approach against the teenager. Unfortunately for his opponent, Stain's regular experience with maiming and attacking Pros allowed him to land a powerful slash on the teen after dodging a counterattack. Tenya is soon found on the floor, with his enemy's katana embedded right in his left shoulder.
"So, you're not the only one of your miserable clan. And yet, you and your brother are pathetic, weak because you're both nothing more than posers," The words of Stain hissed with the venomous reproach of a cobra. The fallen Iida growls.
"Shut it, evildoer!" Tenya shot out. "You do not know my brother! He will likely never recover from the spinal injury you inflicted on him... He was my inspiration, a natural leader, a great Hero! He had rescued countless people, and taken down many crooks... There was no reason for you to cripple him... I'll kill you for what you've done!"
"...You should have saved him," Stain replied coldly, pulling a knife and pointing at Native. "And yet, you only think of yourself. Your brother, your need to kill me. You have shown me that you're the worst kind of worm to keep alive in this society." He continued, finally pulling his katana out and licking the blood, freezing his prey in place. "Look on the bright side, you will be a martyr for a better society."
"Shut up! I... don't care what you say..." Tenya responds, as he starts to tear up at his failures to avenge his crippled brother. "You're still... the criminal who maimed my brother!"
However, as the Hero Killer started to raise his sword to end this false Hero's life, a fist, coated with green energy, found its way hitting his cheek, sending him away from his query.
"Wha...? Midoriya...?" Tenya's eyes darted, seeing a serious looking Deku, who finally looks down at his fallen friend.
"Iida, I'm here to rescue you," Izuku responded, as he looks towards his opponent.
"B...But why...?" The blue-haired teen asked.
"Is it not obvious? Sixty percent of the Hero Killers' would-be targets are found in these dark back alleys. And some of his latest attempts happened near the Normal Hero Agency," His green-haired friend responded. "Can you move? We need to get out of the alley and get Pros between him and us!"
"I can't move... It has something to do with his Quirk!" Tenya responded.
Izuku looked around and spotted another potential victim, slumped against a brick wall. "Crap, if it was just Iida, I would have been able to grab him and run..."
"Midoriya, get out! This has nothing to do with you!" Tenya yelled out.
"I'll give you this, kid. Your quote to save your friend here is commendable. And it seems you want to help even that slumped over raven there. However, they've forfeited their lives the moment they tried to capture me. And if you force me to fight you, then the weaker of us will be culled," Stain was ready to fight again. His intense aura of bloodlust was soon apparent to Izuku. And yet... the green-haired Hero refused to leave them behind. As he recalled Goku's advise, he looked for any weak spots in Stain's fighting style, as the battle soon begins.
Fast approaching Hosu, the bullet train stops one stop away from its destination due to an order to not go into the ward itself. There is a lot of smoke in the central district.
"Alright, we're here." Ryukyu stood up, looking seriously at the smoke cloud. "Goku, be careful down there and do not hesitate to call me or Nejire-chan if you're in trouble or you see something. As for you, Nejire-chan, we're going to go towards the hot zone, and scout for anybody else in danger."
"You got it, Ryukyu-chan!" Nejire said, with a smile on her face to help steel herself to the war zone down there.
"Got it!" Goku replied and nodded.
"Hopefully, it's a situation that Endeavor has a handle on, but we'll be around if that isn't the case. We'll see you when we get the all-clear signal, okay?" Ryukyu spoke, before she turned into her dragon form and lifts off.
"We'll be back, Goku!" Nejire said as she flew up into the air with Ryukyu.
The Saiyan, now left alone, starts to go into the cityscape. The streets are deserted, as most of the area he was in had already evacuated. However, there were a few stragglers remaining, a particular instance being a horrified mother and a child petrified in fear.
"H-Huh...? Are you a Pro?" The mother asked the spiky haired teen, though the child was immediately excited.
"No, Mama! That's the funny monkey boy on TV!" He replied in an excited tone.
"Heheh... You're right about me, kid. C'mon, let's get you two to the nearest shelter. I know one a few blocks to the right of here that's out of the danger zone," Goku said calmly, turning towards the shelter. Grabbing onto the teenager's hand tightly with her grip on her son's hand already tight as it is, the mother follows him towards the shelter, guarded by two Police Force officers. Before the mom and child enters the shelter, she gives Goku a massive hug.
"Thank you so much! Thank you...! I was just out with my husband and son, when those monsters attacked...!" she started to sob. "I don't know where he went..."
"I'm sure Daddy is fine," the kid spoke, a little more confident. "I'm sure of it!"
"Hey, it's no problem. Just stay safe in there, alright? If I find him, I'll lead him back here," Goku affirmed his promise, as the two go into the shelter.
"Son Goku, was it? Ryukyu told me all about you before you three came in. Just be careful out there, and don't fight unless you absolutely must," The Police Force officer said.
"Personally, Son, I think he's a bit worried about arresting the Champion and the Hell your father would give us," the other officer joked slightly, to his partner's irritation. "However, all the same, stay safe out there on patrol."
"Will do, officers!" Goku affirmed with a smile before heading back out.
While he was out, a flying figure appeared high above him, with its eyes on the boy. It swiftly tried to pounce on him, though his ears picked up on the swoosh before he rolled out of its path. Goku, looking at the beast with anger, pushed a button on his earpiece.
"Ryukyu, Nejire-chan. One of the Nomu, a pale yellow creature with wings, tried to grab me for some reason," Goku said.
"Understood, I'll come towards your current position. You have my permission to use your Quirk to defend yourself if it tries to snatch you again, but keep your guard up for now," Ryukyu spoke through the device.
As Goku tracks the monster in the sky, ready to fight the beast if it lunges down again, it passes by the Full Moon. And unfortunately for the teen, he happened to get enough of a look to be petrified. The moon... He hadn't to worry about it for seven years...! No! Not like this...! His heart starts pounding with immense pressure, he starts to snarl. Before the beast even got a chance to lunge at Goku again, a truly loud roar echoes through the city, as the Great Ape comes to life again!
With the roar, Ryukyu was shocked when she saw what looked like to be a giant ape where she thought Goku's last position was.
"Nejire-chan, stay far away! There's a giant ape where Goku was last located!" Ryukyu told her intern in the earpiece as she hastens her approach.
"Ryukyu-chan!" Nejire tried to talk, though she couldn't get through.
The Flying Nomu, after looking at the Great Ape, tried to lunge towards the towering beast, but unfortunately, it was swatted to the ground with immense force, before being picked up by the wings. With the rage overwhelmingly boiling, the Great Ape breathed a blue flame onto the beasts back and attempted to rip the wings off, both dislocating them from their sockets. However, before it was able to even able to rip one wing off, there was a ferocious bite on its arm, causing it to roar in pain as it dropped the Nomu to the ground, the back is charred black as it weakly squeals in agony. It looks at its new opponent, but then hesitates to retaliate. This thing... Why is it familiar...?
"What is this thing...?!" Ryukyu thought as she bit down, and after hearing the great beast's roar, was shocked that it seemed to want to retaliate, yet for some reason, it didn't. However, upon seeing the beast's right ear, she can see the same communicator she gave to Goku, ridiculously tiny in comparison, but a crimson red with gold trims in a sea of brown, with islands of orange and blue. Before it could slap her down, she fled towards a larger building.
"Nejire-chan! The giant ape... It's Goku...!" Ryukyu spoke.
"What?! You can't be serious!" Nejire replied. "Why would Goku be a giant monkey?"
"I don't know what's happening or why he's a giant monkey, but I know he's not in the right state of mind right now. I'm going to keep him contained here until I know what to do to stop him!" The Dragon Heroine spoke, before she turned back to her human form and looked right at the Ape. "Goku! Please stop! I don't know how you turned, but you need to stop before anyone else gets hurt!" echoed throughout the empty cityscape.
The giant beast's rampage stopped, as it looked upon the woman with curiosity. It grabbed her with just one hand, causing her to squirm as she tried to escape its grasp. However, he wasn't hungry, and instead simply wanted to inspect her, looking at her figure and her pretty dress. A sniff of the woman revealed that she was lightly perfumed, just enough for a pleasant smell, it was quite familiar, as a matter of fact. Suddenly, it felt a few rapid-paced kicks that slightly hurts. Just enough it was annoyed enough to release the woman back on the roof to try and capture this tiny, flea-like thing kicking it. It did catch the thing eventually, and only allowed the man's head to pop up from its fist.
"Hmmph...! You're one tough Nomu, aren't you...?!" The old man coughed out.
"Gran Torino, this thing isn't a Nomu!" Ryukyu called out. "It's my student, or at least I think it's him..."
"Y'know, if you really are that Son I keep hearin' Deku yap about, you best release me!" Gran yelled.
Deku... What is 'Deku'...? Yet, this 'Deku' sounds so close to him...! He soon decides to put down the old man, himself a bit shocked that actually worked.
"So... If you're Son Goku, then why in tarnation are you... that?!" Torino tried to ask, and the ape simply pointed at the full moon.
"Wait, you can transform into this form because of the full moon...? Why didn't I know about this...?" Ryukyu spoke.
"He was ashamed of the transformation," A voice called out, as he leaped onto the rooftop, making sure to leap on his good leg. It was Yoroi... That old memory... It starts to discombobulate the ape! It starts to feel much more... calm, passive.
"Yoroi. I thought you were still recovering after the Hero Killer stabbed you in the thigh," Ryukyu spoke, a bit grim looking.
"Looks like you've seen better days. But how about you tell us exactly what you mean?" Torino was getting testy.
"He first transformed around eight years ago, when his mother and father were hiking in the forest. A lot of the forest and some of its inhabitants were unfortunately slain by the giant ape. However, I couldn't kill him, because I knew he was acting on his primal instinct. So I took off his tail, which turned the kid back into his normal form," Yoroi told, before he turns his eyes to the Ape. "As for you, Son Goku, I knew you were trying to train yourself so that you wouldn't destroy needlessly in that form back when you were 12. You have brought no dishonor upon yourself, for you were simply trying to make sure you couldn't bring ruination to those you held close. However, you have brought dishonor by using your Quirk today."
"He hasn't. He was threatened by getting snatched by the Winged Nomu. I gave him permission to use his Quirk to defend himself. I will attest to that."
"Hmph, if that's the case, Ryukyu, then I'll side with you," Torino affirmed. "Unlike that Midoriya boy, he ran right into the viper's pit! Said something about trying to save Iida..."
"Midoriya, Iida?!" the giant ape bellowed, shocking the Pros on the rooftops, the vibrations causing the three Heroes to shake. "Where?!"
"Woah, steady, Goku!" the Dragon Heroine called out, barely able to keep her footing. "I don't know. However..." she turns on her communicator. "Nejire-chan. Is there anything going on below you?"
"Actually, there is...! Right in a dark alley, next to the Normal Agency! I can see green electricity... and... ice?" Nejire replied.
"An alleyway near Manual's agency, green electricity, and ice..." Ryukyu repeats to herself out loud. The two Pros and Great Ape gasped.
"No... Those young students... They're in the same position Mochi-Mochi and I were in when we fought the Hero Killer...!" Yoroi revealed.
"Wait a minute, you're telling me that my intern is fighting the HERO KILLER?!" Gran was extraordinarily pale.
"Ice... Fire... Todoroki...!" The Great Ape mumbled loudly.
"Nejire-chan," Ryukyu said with authority. "It seems that a Todoroki with an ice Quirk and Gran Torino's intern is fighting the Hero Killer. We need to rescue them immediately, before they're killed. Gran, Goku, and I will come immediately, and under no circumstances should you attack the Hero Killer until we're at your location."
However, soon, the Great Ape starts to feel extraordinary pain on his feet! He bellows out in absolute pain, hopping around and trying to put out the fire on his feet. Down on the street below, an annoyed Endeavor was blasting the incapacitated Nomu with fire, and starting to burn the feet of the giant, furry Nomu.
"Endeavor! What are you doing?!" Ryukyu called out.
"Hmph, you've left one last Nomu remaining. Don't worry, I'll take care of it." Endeavor said as he bursts into flames. He tries to attack the Ape, but the enraged animal simply smacks him away, with a roar of rage, a dim blue light starting to illuminate its mouth.
"Goku!" Ryukyu called out. "Please, don't let your rage take hold of you!"
"It's too late, we got to stop them both!" Torino said. "You take Goku, I'll take Endeavor!"
"No." Yoroi unsheathed his katana. "I'll stop Endeavor. Save your intern before it's too late, Torino. As should you, Ryukyu."
"Mmm... You're about as stubborn as me, Yoroi. But I'll trust your judgement," The short old man replied, before he goes towards where he spots Nejire flying high above. As for the Samurai Hero himself, he leaps off the road and lands where Endeavor was about to go. The Hellfire Hero looked furious. In the background, Ryukyu's trying to calm the Ape down from his rage in her Dragon Form. The beast is trying to get closer to the thing that attacked it, but it was stopped by a surprisingly strong tackle, causing enough disorientation that it then spots the Samurai Hero in front of it.
"Get out of my way, old man," Endeavor threatened. However, barely a muscle twitched on Yoroi as he assumed as close to his normal sword stance as he could with his thigh aching in dull pain.
"You are being blinded by your arrogance yet again, Endeavor. For this giant ape is not this 'Nomu' you speak of. I will not let Mochi-Mochi grieve by you butchering his son," The Samurai's eyes gleamed with clarity and rage, as a Shadow Clone walks gently to the side, one eye glaring at him.
"That thing you're blocking me from is not Son Goku. I will give you one more warning, Yoroi. Out. Of. My. Way." The Hellfire Hero burned with intensity. Yet even this intimidation display does nothing.
"Will you truly risk having your own son chopped in half by the Hero Killer over this?! Your own flesh and blood?! If such is true and you try to go pass me, you will bring dishonor beyond dishonor!" The Samurai spat, causing Endeavor to flinch.
"W-Wha...? Shoto... is fighting... the Hero Killer...?" Endeavor himself looked absolutely petrified.
"Yes. According to the intel provided by Ryukyu's intern, there's been green lightning and ice flashing in an alleyway. Ten blocks away, near the Normal Agency. That ice is your son's, is it not?" Yokoi asked, keeping his glare at him.
"...Fine. You win this time, Yokoi. I won't kill this Nomu. However, it's not because I'm sparing that thing, it's because I am not going to let Shoto die this day," Endeavor sneered before he starts booking it away, using the levitating girl as a guide. The Samurai sighed in relief, as he sheathed his sword and his shadow returns.
"Son Goku." Yokoi yelled out to the Ape. It soon stopped as Ryukyu looked down, only seeing Yokoi standing in front of the melted asphalt that Endeavor created evaporating the Winged Nomu. "I've forced Endeavor to back off. However, please be careful about looking at the moon again. I should go back to the hospital, and while I expect the doctors to call me out on my actions today, I have no reason to suspect you of any wrongdoings." He soon exits the scene, hopping away on his good foot.
"Thank you... Yokoi..." The Ape said, a bit softer yet still booming.
"Goku..." Ryukyu looked right into the Great Ape's eyes. He seems to look sad. "Are you able to turn back to normal at will?"
"No... As long... Tail... or Moon... out, I am still... Great Ape," The Ape said. "Ryukyu, bite... off... Tail..."
"Are you crazy? Why should I harm you by biting off your tail?" the Dragon Heroine said, saddened.
"Bite off my tail... so I may be... normal..." The Ape continued, sounding closer to Goku.
"Goku, my dear... I'm afraid I must refuse your request. I do not want to harm you, even in your 'Great Ape' state. However, this is a brand new avenue of training. You're getting more and more of your mental faculties as this giant ape!" The Heroine tried to spin his current predicament in a more positive light, slowly flying towards Nejire. However, the giant ape was still morose.
"But Endeavor brings something up... I look too much like... a Nomu..." He speaks, as he tries as gently as possible to walk the streets. Despite how sticky the melted asphalt is, it barely even slows him down.
"Perhaps at first glance. But you have something that I know for certain the Nomu doesn't," she says. "Unlike you, the Nomu seem closer to that of a zombie. That is, they only accept the command of their perceived superior. You have control over all of your actions."
"Wait, how did you know about this...?" The ape asked.
"Police Force gave me advanced intelligence about these creatures, specifically using the one that had attacked the USJ as their basis. Due to all the Quirks these things have, their brains had undergone significant cognitive disintegration, removing the original body's personality and will, leaving only enough to command and to attack."
"Oh, wow...!" Goku was relieved. "Though... how can I prove I'm still me in this state...?"
"Just be as you've always been. A kind, gentle, but brave and fierce soul." Ryukyu smiled, and soon they approach the alleyway. As it turned out, the fight had ended with a victory for Midoriya and Todoroki. The Hero Killer was heavily restrained and kept under arm by Endeavor. He's fully unconscious, with an especially red fist imprint on the Hero Killer's left side of his head.
"IZUKU! SHOTO!" The giant ape bellowed out in joy, causing the poor boy to almost have a heart attack. The Police Force surrounding the alleyway opening were startled by the giant ape, a few trained their taser pistols at the giant monkey.
"What the Hell?! Another Nomu?!" Shoto got in front of the green-haired boy in a defensive pose.
"Calm down, whippersnappers! It's just Son! He's in a funny ape form," Torino was simply exhausted.
"Wait... What...?" Izuku looked at the giant monkey. He was weirdly bashful when his friend looked at him. "I can't believe it... the story was true, after all!"
"Hmph, as those numbskull Heroes had said, Shoto, apparently that giant ape thing is Son," Endeavor begrudgingly spoke.
"My apologies, Son," Shoto bowed in forgiveness immediately. The Ape can only chuckle at the bow. Yep, despite that giant, menacing look, only a Goku can make that chuckle. "It is Son, Father. His chuckle is a dead ringer..."
"Goku!" Nejire flew downwards towards the Ape, landing on his shoulder. "Jeez, you're so big when you're in this form! We might actually need a football stadium just for you to sleep in!"
"Unfortunately, Nejire-chan, this is going to cause a real big headache with the Police Force boys. I just hope they can understand," Ryukyu said, as she lands on the ground and turns back to normal. "Though having a few more hours of paperwork is nothing I can't do, I'm not certain what to do to accommodate him."
"That won't be a problem, Ryukyu," the Police Force Chief said. "We have a warehouse that we can house him in. However, I must request you come tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock to clarify what had just happened with this boy. We'll bring along True Man, so that we can get the full truth out of Torino, Yoroi, Endeavor, Manual, and you."
"That is acceptable, Chief," Ryukyu bows her head respectfully. "Thank you for your kindness."
"Think nothing of it." As he turned his head up to the giant ape. "Follow us, giant ape. We have a place for you to sleep."
And so, the night ended. The Great Ape came forth once again, the Hero Killer is behind bars, and the Nomu were eradicated by an overly eager firestarter.
During the Crisis, in a temporary hideout...
"My dear Shigaraki... What do you have to report to me at this late of time?" Sensei yawned.
"Sensei... We saw that brat transform into a giant monster," Shigaraki said, plain as day. This intrigued the man on the other side.
"What...? Can you describe whom transformed and what it looked like?" Sensei asked.
"We tried to nab that brat, Son Goku, right out from underneath that female dragon's nose. However, he suddenly stopped when he suddenly grew in size and turned into an giant monkey. That poor Winged Nomu was pretty much nothing more than a Level 1 Goblin because of it's actions! I hate that monkey...!" Shigaraki was starting to lose it.
"However, Master, we had noticed that the full moon was out earlier than normal. That may be a clue as to how that ape creature came to be," Kurogiri chimed in.
"Interesting... So this brat's Quirk grants him a gargantuan werewolf-like state, but he's a giant monkey instead...? I may see about getting the good Doctor to remove that part or to give it its own Quirk form. Regardless, this is vital information for our plans and I thank you for reporting this news to me, my dear Shigaraki."
"Hnng... You're welcome, Sensei..." Shigaraki belted out, as he soon loses communication with his Sensei. He scratches his neck in confusion, wondering what he's to do with a brat that can turn into a raid boss.
AN: Welp, I have a lot of explaining to do. The truth is, I did indeed go through with creating a Two Heroes section, and I was partially interesting in doing an OVA Chapter, namely the USJ-centric Rescue Training chapter. However, Two Heroes took priority. Though another thing is that I do want to rewrite a few parts from chapters, either I go through with what I did back in Chapter 3 and actually have "subchapters" with their own subtitles or just keep it to what I'll do now. I think the main thing I want to tackle is to rewrite/subsume Chapter 5, since it's barely 2000 words long, and it mostly exists to be a stopgap between the Battle Trials and the USJ Invasion. Now, a major thing I want your input on is if I should edit this chapter and have Goku actually lose the tail to Stain, or if he should keep it around for longer. The upcoming Chapter 14 might also need a rewrite, though it's because the timeline there's a bit messy, and I feel I should expand more on Mrs. Yaoyorozu and why you shouldn't mess with her.
