"Lunch hour. I literally thought that it would never come." Muttering to herself; Lori Loud casually approached one of the tables, she usually sat at during this time of day.
Already sitting at the table, enjoying the lunches that they have brought from home. Are two of Lori's friends; Roger and Carol Pingrey, the latter being a more interesting case as Carol had once been Lori's longtime rival.
Ever since Lori was a young girl in the Blue Bell girl scouts. Carol had always one up her on everything from: selling the most cookies, beating her on the laser tag challenge in the annual Astonishing Quest, winning the most votes on where to go on field trips, to even getting the most likes on her Internet posts. It was just so literally frustrating.
Their rivalry had only ended, when she gave Lori some much needed comfort after a week has past since that fateful day. The day when her siblings got taken away.
She can remember it as clearly as looking at her own hand. She had just returned to school, after taking a couple days off to grieve. She had mostly kept to herself, not talking to anyone or really paying attention in class as all she can think of were her siblings that she would never see again.
The heavy emotions eventually got the best of her; so when the next bell rang. She took off to the restroom and stayed in there for who knows how long as she bawled her eyes out in a stall.
She knew that a few people had came in while she was crying, but they left her well enough alone for it wasn't any of their business. But in some twist of irony, Carol had entered the restroom to fix up her hair, when Lori's cries gained her attention.
Seeing only her feet underneath the stall. Carol had a moment to think about what to do. Lori was her rival! She was captain of the golf team, her hair was absolutely perfect, and she has ten siblings that looked up to her, well; four as of now.
Carol was an only child. The only sibling-like member in her overall family was her little cousin Charlie. Other than her; Carol utterly has no idea on what it's like to have siblings, but she does know that Lori's family has been sadly struck with a very major blow, and that Lori is in deep pain at this very moment.
She just couldn't let Lori suffer through this horrible pain alone. So despite their rivalry, she steps on up to the stall door and gently knocked on it, where she calls on Lori's name.
Recognizing Carol's voice all too well. Lori simply wasn't in the mood to deal with her long time rival at that very moment and promptly told her to leave her alone.
Ignoring the adderall harshness in her voice, Carol doesn't leave. Instead; she goes into the neighboring stall and gently talked to her.
Before Lori knew it. She was telling Carol everything that her family has suffered through after the horrible incident. She told her about her mother completely breaking down, her father unable to leave from his chair; as he thought about on how he has lost several of his kids from both of his very own restaurants.
Her remaining siblings weren't much better. Leni for instance is very certain that their missing siblings were just simply lost, so she took it upon herself to print out several missing posters as well as a bunch of online posts in order for people to not only find them, but also bring them back home.
Lisa had began to not only preserve all kinds of life in the house, but has also been busy collecting on any type of DNA samples of their missing siblings. She doesn't know why, and she very much didn't want to know.
Poor Lilly doesn't understand on why some of her siblings weren't around the house anymore. The youngest member of the Loud's had found herself searching everywhere in the house for any sign of their presences, but sadly couldn't; as the only traces of them she ever found were their abandon stuff.
Then finally there was Luna. Oh Lord! She can not even begin to explain on how the incident has dramatically changed her once very chill younger sister into a completely different person.
As she explained all of this, Carol listened carefully; giving her some much needed comforting words. Which inadvertently paved the way to the strong friendship that they now share today.
Spotting her approach, Carol welcomes her with a small wave. "Hey Lori. Can you believe class today? I thought it would never end."
"Tell me about it." Sitting across from her friends, Lori gently places down her tray of food with a audible sigh for they just had to have a substitute teacher today in fourth period with the most slow, boring voice tone. He heavily reminded her on how those pixies talked on the Fairy Oddparents. "I thought that I was literally going to fall asleep back there."
"And did you see his hairstyle? It looked like his beard was completely combed over his head." Roger chimed in; while mimicking on what the beard looked like with his hand.
"Good thing that's finally over. Now we can finally chill and talk with each other; until the next class." Carol very hoped that their regular teacher was in today. She couldn't handle another class like that, she'll completely die from boredom.
"True that." Lori agreed before then looking down at the lunches Carol and Roger have brought in. "Nice salad by the way."
"Thanks. I'm trying to watch my cholesterol." Carol's been having too much of it lately, so to fix this. She's been having more healthier options.
"That little salad doesn't even compare to my delicious sweet and sour chicken." Showing off his Chinese food to the two of them. Roger has been waiting to eat these leftovers ever since he came home from the local Chinese restaurant yesterday.
Looking to both of her friends foods. Lori is slightly jealous, when she looked back down to her own food and only saw meatloaf with mash potatoes on the side. "You guys have literally upstaged me with the food today."
"Oh yeah. Meatloaf Mondays are just the worst." To Roger; it absolutely seemed that the cooks always have them a bit too mushy, which is exactly why he started bringing food from home on Monday's.
"Just my luck to forget about Meatloaf Mondays." Lori commented as she started cutting up her meatloaf.
Eating a piece of her salad, Carol is the one to begin their annual lunch hour chat. "So; how was your guy's weekend?"
"It was fun. I went to Gus's and got a brand new high score on Dance, Dance Revolution. Walked around the park for a bit, then hung out at the mall." Wasn't very an eventful weekend, but that was okay with Roger.
"Better than mine. I got stuck with helping my parents clean out the garage." As a person with a slight fear of spiders. Carol wasn't at all fond on seeing their webs or the icky things when she got to a certain section. "So what about you Lori? What did you do this weekend?"
"I mostly chatted with Bobby for literally the whole weekend." She answered before eating a piece of meatloaf, earning a few ohs from her friends.
"We know that you had a great time then." Carol exclaimed with a wink; as Lori can't last a day without mentioning her boyfriend, and she can't blame her for Bobby was such a nice guy. It's a rather big shame that he had to move away.
"It sure was." Lori sighed with a great amount of love in her eyes. "He told me about all the updates that he did to his family's store. As well as telling me some stories about what's he's been doing at his new school; along with the current gossip of his family. You should've heard on what his two cousins did last Friday." She laughed.
"I'm very impressed that you're managing to maintain a good relationship. Despite the current distance between you two." Long distance relationships rarely hold together, but yet; both Lori and Bobby are doing just fine. Hopefully when Roger gets into a relationship, he'll have that strong bond to.
"It's not easy, but are love is very strong." Lori can't begin to explain about all the problems of video chatting. The Wi-Fi suddenly cutting out for no reason, there's also sometimes lag, not to mention interruptions from both of their families.
"Speaking of Great Lake City. Have you guys heard about the new restaurant coming soon?" Carol now addressed.
"What new restaurant?" Lori didn't hear anything about an upcoming restaurant from Bobby.
"Apparently it's this big project that's supposed to bring in a ton of families. I think it's going to be very much like Gus's?"
"That's going to be cool. A bigger restaurant is going to have a lot more arcade games." Roger wished that he can go there when it opens; as a big arcade is always fun.
"Well; when it does eventually open. I'm sure that Bobby is going to tell me all about it." As with the younger children in the family. They are bound to go there, especially if it is going to be such a big deal like Carol is proclaiming it to be.
"You definitely gotta tell us all about it, when he does." Roger would just love to learn more about this new restaurant.
"I definitely will, when Bobby eventually tells me that is." She has no doubts that this arcade theme restaurant is going to be a rather big deal for both kids and gamers alike, but just as long it wasn't anything like her dad's old restaurant, it would be just fine with her.
"Oh yeah." Carol then perked up. "I gotta an awesome story to share with you guys."
"Let's hear it." Roger said for he's always eager to hear a juicy story.
"Alright, so this morning." Carol began as she told her tale about this morning's events, in which Roger and Lori listened very closely, getting quite intrigued as she got further and further along with the story.
Carol was just on the part with the coffee machine leaking, when Lori slightly cast her eyes behind her and looked towards Luna; sitting alone at a table with her gaze directly on the Moon Goats, more specifically at Sam Sharp.
Slightly frowning in sympathy for her younger sister. Lori could just see the faint love hearts floating above her head like a bunch of bubbles.
She so wanted to go on up to Sam and ask her out, or at least join the band. But alas couldn't. Her mood swings are seriously holding her back on doing so; all it took was just one thing to completely set her off and she can just kiss them and Sam goodbye.
If only there was just some way to help her. Lori would do it in a instant for Luna doesn't deserve to be alone with the love of her life not knowing about her true feelings.
Holding in a sigh, Lori then slightly turned her gaze on over to Leni happily chatting away to her friends: Becky, Jackee and Mande.
It's very fortunate that Leni has friends to be with during her time of need. It's most likely the reason why she gotten back to her old self quicker than expected.
"And that's when my dad rushed out of the house." Carol finished.
"That was a very interesting story. Wasn't it Lori?" Roger asked.
"Yes. A very good story." Lori replied with a smile as she couldn't just let Carol know that she wasn't even listening to her. That would be very rude.
The three friends then go back to their lunches. They have just finished up their food, when the bell rang. Signalling to everyone that lunch hour was over and to get back to class.
"Well. Time for math class." Roger chimed with a bit of dread as he doesn't do so well with math. Especially if it's algebra.
"Look on the bright side. At least the day is almost over." Lori remarked as they headed for the trash cans to dump off all their waste before leaving the cafeteria, where they all separate for their individual classes and won't be seeing each other, until the very end of the school day.
Heading for her gym class amongst the large crowds of high school. Lori couldn't help but think of something that has happened to her during the summer. Something that's very strange, defies everything she knows of the world, and had her thinking that she was actually in one of those dreams where you think that you're awake, but actually aren't.
"Come. Find. Us."
Those were the exact words her dead sister Lucy had told her on that night. The first one in their family to face an untimely death in the hands of that evil man; before he went after four more of her sisters along with her only brother.
She had been standing in the backyard at the dead of night, wearing the same puppet mask that the old security puppet used to wear at Fredbear's. But then; she was gone as quickly as she appeared by floating back into the darkness, leaving Lori all frighten and very confused over on what she had just experienced.
She really couldn't remember anything else that had happened after that; besides waking up in her bed the very next morning, completely silent with the uneasiness over the possibility of seeing her little sister's ghost.
Was it real though? She didn't know and if it was, why was Lucy wearing that puppet mask? Sure; they had found that old puppet having its arms wrapped protectively around her dead body, but that wasn't even a real mask. It was just a plastic cover to hide the robotic circuitry.
Another thing that very deeply puzzled her is her sister's ominous message.
"Come find us."
What did she exactly mean by we? The only explanation for it was over on what Bobby had said about her siblings ghosts haunting Freddy's. She couldn't believe it though, it was too impossible to think of such a thing, and even if it was true. How come they never came to see them? She knows that it's a common ghost thing to stick around where you died at, but she has read somewhere that ghosts can wander to places where they have frequently hang about at in life.
She also couldn't accept that not only were they killed, but also that their spirits were trapped in internal suffering in a place that once brought them all joy.
But of course now that she was thinking about this terrible possibility. She just as quickly shook her head to get all these horrible thoughts out of her mind.
Just why did this have to happen to her? All these terrible thoughts were going to be driving her insane yet. Perhaps the upcoming gym class would get them all out of her mind for the time being.
Turning towards the open doors of the gymnasium, she literally hoped that they weren't going to be doing the rope today.
Fortunately they weren't doing the rope. Instead; they were stuck with doing the pacer aptitude test.
For the entire class, they ran back and forth with people dropping out like flies as they eventually couldn't catch their breaths, and had to quit to the bleachers for a much needed rest.
Lori has done very well on her part by actually getting up to lap 35; before her body simply couldn't handle running any much longer.
Retreating to the top of the bleachers, she leaned herself back against the wall, silently watching the remaining students run back and forth like ping pongs. Oh gosh! How tired and out of breath she was. She was literally going to be needing a cool drink down at the water fountain after all this.
Shutting her eyes for just a brief second, she listens to the beeps of the test, the pounding of footsteps running against the floor, the faint music from someone sneaking in their phone during class. It was the typical sounds, she came to expect during these pacer tests, but what didn't belong here was the faint static sound in her ears.
It sounded like a old radio as it's wavelengths both grew and shrunk. She began wondering if someone was playing this sound on their phone.
Opening her eyes to check on whoever was doing it. She widens them in shock for instead of the gymnasium, she was looking down at the main area of Freddy's through the eyes of Freddy Fazbear himself.
She can see the floor where kids would've gather around the stage, the very familiar tables and booths. They were just like how she remembered them, except the room was dark with a slight grey light, instead of it being all lit up and colorful as she once remembered it.
Slowly turning her head to her left with a mechanical whine, Chica comes into her view, looking out to the empty room. Slowly turning to the right, Bonnie is in the same pose; all the while. The cold atmosphere of the building made its presence very well known with some kind of weird sounds echoing in her ears.
Looking back in front of her, the sound turns into a mechanical roar as her vision gets glitching like a camera before her it suddenly went blank with the words IT'S ME; repeatedly flashing in front of her eyes.
"Lori?"
Jumping in fright, Lori accidentally bumps her head against the wall, earning a burst of pain to go through her as she placed a hand on the spot she just struck. "Ouch"
Rubbing the sore spot, she takes a look forward where the pacer test is now over as everyone sat on the bleachers either catching their breaths or talking among their friends, while at the far end of the gymnasium; the gym teacher is looking over his notes on the clipboard.
"You kinda dozed off there Lori." Janet commented.
Blinking some more to confirm her surroundings were real. Lori slowly turned to her as she continued to rub her head. "I guess the pacer test tired me out more than I thought." She joked.
"I know how you feel. My legs are totally burning right now." Janet just hated the pacer test. She simply wasn't a runner, she was in fact a swimmer at heart.
"I'm so literally ready to head on home for the day." After such a weird dream like that. Lori can use some time to herself.
"Too bad we only have a few more periods left before the final bell rings."
"Yeah. Real bummer." Leaning back again, Lori this time doesn't close her eyes as she turns to face the ticking clock that seemed to move very slowly.
Just why did she have to suffer through this?
Finishing his work for the day. Lynn Sr. collected all of his things into his open briefcase as he sat up from his desk.
Putting in the last of his things, he leaves his office space, says goodbye to several of his coworkers, then entered the elevator; where he stands there with a monotone look as the elevator slowly went down to ground level.
This was his everyday life. A everyday guy working in a boring everyday I.T. job, where he sits behind a desk, clicking on the computer or writing on some paperwork like a lone worker ant in a everyday colony.
Here; there was no room for creativity, especially when it came down to the topic of cooking. The very thing Lynn loved to do the most as it was so rewarding to create something wonderful out from scratch. There is also the wonderful sound of something baking in the oven, the sizzling on the stove, and the mixing of several ingredients that always gives him joy.
The only time he can feel that immense joy was when he's cooking for his family. Unlike in the glory days, when he used to cook delicious foods to the joyful customers that came down to his restaurants.
He can just remember hearing the joyful laughter of children, their parents chatting amongst each other as the sounds of both games and the animatronic band happily sang in the background.
Those were the days, but they were sadly over now. His dreams of being a chef is in ruins as after the combination of both the closures of his restaurants and the tragic disappearance of his kids. Lynn just couldn't be a chef anymore, he had lost all motivation.
It was just a good thing that his old boss offered him his old job back, otherwise; Lynn could've become a lazy lump parked on the couch. He may not like his I.T. job, but it did keep him busy and most importantly provide for his remaining kids.
But now that his shift is over. He can now go on down to the coffee shop for a quick cup and listen to some good old cowbell music on the radio; before picking up Rita from her job at the dentist's office.
Hearing the usual ding of the elevator stopping, Lynn walks on out shortly after the elevator doors opened. Exiting out of the building, he passes by Mrs. Jones; the front desk secretary, who wished him a good day. "See you tomorrow Mr. Loud."
"Have a good evening Mrs. Jones." Stepping out into the now cloudy day. Lynn wastes no time on pulling out his car keys as he comes into the side parking lot, where his beautiful van is waiting for him.
He just places them in the slot, when the window reflection of someone approaching causes him to turn around and face the stranger; which turned out to be a guy with a cowbell shirt on, and a full fledge beard and mustache combo.
"Good afternoon. Are you Lynn Loud by any chance?" He asked him.
"Yes. How can I help you?" Lynn asked with a bit of hesitance for what could this guy want? Hopefully it's not another business guy as the last one he ran into had sold him a cruddy radio that only picked up static.
"I heard you like cowbells. Am I correct on that Mr. Loud?" The stranger questioned.
"I don't like to toot my own horn, but I am a bit of a cowbell pro." He bragged, while proudly rubbing his chest.
"Then your in luck my friend. You just won free tickets to the upcoming Cowbella Music Festival!" Pulling out a pair of tickets. The stranger beholds them to Lynn, who practically held in a excited scream for he's been trying to reserve those tickets for weeks. This has to be his lucky day.
"Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! This is the greatest surprise ever!" He could just cry from how happy he was feeling right now.
"Yep. And all you need to do to receive these tickets is to sign this contract to make sure that it's you. For legal reasons you know." He shrugged while presenting Lynn with a series of legal papers.
"Totally understandable pal. Cowbella is a very elegant place." Taking the papers with excitement, Lynn happily writes down his name on every line that he's supposed to sign on before finally handing the bundle of papers back to the awaiting stranger. "There you go my good man."
"Much appreciated Mr. Loud." Handing him the tickets in exchange, the stranger made darn sure that everything is in order before tipping his head down to Mr. Loud, who's way too busy on gushing over the tickets to even notice. "Pleasure doing business with you."
"Oh man. I can't wait to tell Kotaro about getting free tickets to Cowbella! We're going to have to polish up our cowbells for such a special occasion." He could even use that new one that Bobby had given him. With this overall excitement, Lynn practically leaped into Vanzilla and drove off to meet up with Kotaro over the wonderful news.
Standing there, silently watching him until he was completely out of sight. Vic smiled in delight as he pulls off his disguise for that had worked out better than what he had originally thought.
Now that he has that total buffoon's signature. All rights to Freddy's now fully belongs to him, which means he can finally proceed on finishing up the new restaurant and open it for business, with the Louds unable to do anything about it.
Emerging out from underneath a car to meet him, Gilly sits obediently next to his master, flickering his tongue in delight.
"Yep Gilly. He's a full time sucker. Now let's get out of here before he finds out that those tickets are fake." Picking up his pet with great care, Vic makes quick haste to his awaiting car.
By the time Lynn finds out about the fake tickets. He'll be safely back in the city, preparing for the big opening of the new Freddy Fazbear's Pizza.
