Chapter 33: Lesson in rescue.

Once again, the 1A students were arriving to the USJ complex. Some of them were still shaking from the recent attack. Thankfully, this time All Might and Snipe were present, so everyone felt at ease.

"Still feels like we are back too soon, kero."

"Fear not, young Asui! The villains will not be able to sabotage our communications again, so it's unlikely they'll try their chances here." Yagi proclaimed. "Back to you, Thirteen."

The Space themed hero was wearing a visually identical suit, so it was hard to tell how well her body took the fight. Her posture and voices at least suggested she was fine.

"Yes, thank you. As you know, students, the Unforeseen Simulation Joint is a facility designed to emulate various natural disasters. Floods, fires, earthquakes, you name it. Today all of you will work as a team in each of the zones to rescue civilians. They will be represented by other students who partake for extra credit. Do not worry, they have quirks to help them survive the specific environments we put them in, so they aren't in actual danger. We will evaluate your time management, teamwork and decision making skills. Questions?"

No one bothered raising hands.

"Excellent! Let us begin."

The first zone contained a dozen "drowning" civilians and some that were stuck on a broken boat. Half of students simply swam to the rescue, but others managed to use quirks: Todoroki made ice bridges, Momo created a raft, Izuku and Fumikage used their extra pairs of hands to grab more people. Despite not actually being a cat, Killer Queen wasn't a fan of WATER.

"I hate swimming!" Bakugo screamed as he carried someone on his back.

Next was the Downpour zone, where "victims" were trying to get their belongings from the area. It was a pretty easy area to manage. Katsuki finally managed to show off his new suit that protected him from humidity and stored sweat in the gauntlets.

"Ha! I won't fall for this crap again!"

The Mountain zone was full of pitfalls so teens with enhanced mobility such as Tsuyu and Shoto got to shine the most. The blond was pissed that civilians refused to ride him when he was going to fly on blasts. "Safety concerns" as they called it.

Landslide zone was supposed to be extremely unstable, so quiet and carefulness were the most important aspects. Jirou and Shouji were the stars of this show due to their hearing thriving in such environment.

Conflagration zone was Todoroki's and Yaomomo's time to shine, since their quirks were perfect for dealing with fire and protecting people from smoke.

Finally, the Ruins zone was said to be another straightforward assignment, but as soon as students entered, they got bombarded by blasts of golden energy from above.

"Hi!" A girl with long blue hair waved at them. "So, I'm supposed to be a villain and kill you, so don't take this personally, ok?" She sent another attack.

"Who the hell is she?" Ochako wondered.

"She is Nejire Hado, from the 3rd year of heroics course. I guess her inclusion is another logical ruse."

"Fucking hobo and his fucking ruses!" Katsuki was displeased.

"She's too fast!" Shouji tried shooting the girl who playfully dodged the bullets.

"Wow, nice guns? Are they your only ones? How often do you clean them? Are you allowed to carry them…"

"Shut up!" Explosive kid flew towards the Nejire to blast her away, only to be dodged and shot instead.

"She's too much! Todoroki-kun, please cover us!"

"On it." The dual haired boy made hid his class inside an ice dome.

"Now, we need to plan..."

Smack!

Lemillion emerged from the ground and hit the icy teen in the stomach, causing him to collapse on the ground.

"Surprise!" He disappeared from sight, barely passing through Shouji's arms.

"Everyone, move!" Izuku screamed. "Togata-senpai can't see us when he is underground, so he has to make a prediction."

"Underground?" Kyoka stood still due to not understanding the situation. Big mistake, as she was Mirio's next target.

"Careful, you might hurt someone." The blond taunted Bakugo before hiding from an explosion underneath the earth.

"This guy doesn't have ranged attacks." The devil reminded his host. "I bet he's prioritizing those who do."

"I see."

"See what, Deku-kun?"

"Killer Queen!"

The cat quirk flew from green head's body and poked Momo's suit on the belly.

"What the hell are you doing, Midoriya?!" Mezou pulled the girl away.

"I turned her suit into a trap. Don't worry, it won't hurt her."

Izuku's prediction proved to be wrong. Togata's next target was in fact Bakugo. Ash blonde couldn't even block the fist coming towards him since it just phased through the arms. The next attack happened as expected. As soon as Lemillion tried hitting Momo, skin on his fist got blown up from the explosion. To genius's surprise, she was indeed unharmed. A pummeling session from his kouhai Mezou left Mirio unconscious. Midoriya turned senpai's leg into a bomb just in case and Momo made bandages to stop the blood.

"Now we just need to handle the flying menace." Izuku claimed.

"But what about the civilians?" Tsuyu countered.

"I'll… I'll handle the flying bitch." Bakugo panted as he tried to stand up.

"Language!" Iida raised his fist.

"Are you sure, Kacchan? She might be too mobile for you."

"Shut up, Four Eyes. Look, even if I can't hit her, I can still stall her. Get those extras out of the area."

"Okay. Everyone, move!"

There was a third "villain" waiting for the class. He was wearing a white cloak with tons of stashes. Half of his face was obstructed.

"Why doesn't he wear shoes? Don't his feet hurt?" DIO wondered.

"It's probably related to his quirk."

"Surrender, villain!" Momo screamed into a megaphone. "You are outnumbered and outmatched."

The faux villain said nothing in return.

"Let's just stop him and keep going." Shoto launched an ice barrage towards the man.

The villain's arms turned into wings as he jumped to fly away from the attack. As he moved closer to the group, his wings got replaced by 10 tentacles. 5 on each limb. He managed to grab all 10 students in his field of view by the neck, choking them slightly.

"Blow this stupid thing away!"

"Sure."

The transformer's toes also turned into tentacles to restrain Killer Queen's arms and Dark Shadow, as well as prevent to the giant from overpowering the restraints.

"Damn, he is strong. If only I could manipulate time right now."

The villain suddenly let go of everyone as he tried to grab something behind him. Judging by the sounds, someone or something was choking him. But there wasn't anyone behind him.

"Everyone! Rush this guy while Tooru keeps him busy."

"No need." Todoroki launched another ice attack that covered the aggressor. Hagakure barely managed to jump away at the last second.

"Yaomomo, who is this?"

"Amajiki Tamaki, another 3rd year."

"Let's hope this was the last of them."

After finally subduing the villains and rescuing civilians, 1A got to properly greet the "Big 3" of UA. Mirio was an inspiration towards greatness, Nejire was a soul of any company (and a headache according to the peanut gallery) and Amajiki was too socially awkward to talk to anyone besides those two. Izuku made sure to ask transformer and the fly girl about their quirks. Then he also had to answer a ton of questions about himself, much to his annoyance.

"Damn, am I really that irritating?"

"Yes."

"Probably."

"Most likely."
