[Office of the Supreme Chancellor, Rebuilt Senate District, New Galactic City, Coruscant, Corusa Sector, The Core, New Republic]

The Master of Masks, the creature known to the wider public as the dark-skinned human female called 'Reva Sevander', the young, restorationist-progressionist Supreme Chancellor of the New Republic, sat at 'her' desk the view of Coruscant behind 'her'. Of course there was no 'her' in truth, for Masks were to be worn in the nature of the True Jedi to protect the New Republic and its citizens. Often enough from themselves and their fierce, primitive, and most importantly, dark, emotions. Emotions was the means to Fall. Of Jedi, of the Republic those Jedi had served, and failed, before the time of the Master of Masks. That time would never come again with the New Jedi Order in place to serve as True Jedi, cleansing the galaxy of the taint of the Dark Side.

"….unacceptable for these Imperialists to dare make such claims!"

Such as the understandable, and useful, emotions of the non-force entrusted such as Senator Ha'Nook of Glithnos, and older human female Senator high up in the Core People's Progression Party, and now Senior member of the Defence Committee. The creature known to the senators as Reva Sevander gave a firm nod, affixing a serious, offended, look upon her face and her in tone just as the three True Jedi in the room monitored and 'tweaked' the room where needed "I understand and share your concerns Senator Ha'Nook, and a full session of the Senate is to be scheduled to table this important matter. These claims are to be, firmly, rejected of course, but, unfortunately, military intervention is currently an unacceptable option with operations currently underway in restoring order and civilization to the galactic north"

Which was likely why the imperialist savages of the galactic south and east had chosen to do their posturing and false proclamations of inheritance. That it had occurred was unfortunate, but not entirely unexpected…save the more optimistic projections had placed such an alliance as several years down the line, or likely after the reintegration of the galactic North back into the Republic. Such events were predictable when facing down the thieves and darksiders that infested the galaxy at large; the Order could not rely upon their foes being fools after all. Such arrogance had led to the fall of not old the Old Order, but of the Republic that that Order had purported to serve.

In theory, yes, the Fleet could engage the Imperialists and their lackeys, but the Order's advisors, as well as NRN High Command, all agreed that such actions now would be overly ambitious. Potentially disastrous even should events spiral and the Confederacy and Hutts actively engage. Instead the preferred option was to continue restoring Republic control of the galactic north, followed by elimination of traitorous Confederate holdouts, and, after consolidation, beginning the reduction of rebel and traitor Imperialist and Federationist elements in the galaxy. Such would be the task of the lifetime of the Master of Masks potentially, even likely, but it was the Will of the Force, and the Destiny of the Core. Already the meagre gains of the restoration were bouncing back the economy, even on the less loyal worlds of the Big Three. Time. Time was needed.

"I understand Chancellor" Senator Ha'Nook voice, showing she did understand that, or signalled such feelings from her Force presence "But a forceful, even if diplomatic, response to such…lies and crude Rim thinking must be addressed to these upstarts and their so-called Empire!"

"Such a stance would require a more unified stance with the traitorous rebels of the Confederacy Senator, as you well know" the mask pointed out calmly, opting to push the needed galacto-political posture the Order demanded "While any agreements reached with illegitimate states as the Confederacy have no standing in Republic Law, nor should they, but for the interests of dealing with other foes some public acclamation would be necessary to pretend we hold such views"

Senator Ha'Nook gave a weary sigh and a nod "Acceptable Chancellor, but some legal documention will be required to confirm that status"

"Of course, this Office will gladly provide such, and the Republic Judiciary Reforms will ensure no more regressionist or overly conservative minded individuals will be allowed to override the will of the workers based upon ancient documents that are no longer relevant" the mask reassured the Senator, as reform of the Judiciary, by the mass appointment of young, politically active, judges served to remove one of the major blocks of reactionary anti-republican anti-revolutionary elements from the system. It was only the first, slow, long-term, moves towards reforming the entire Republic, starting with the Non-Core into the Utopia that it was always meant to be. One destroyed by the momentary setback of the Fall due to the scum and villainy that infested the galaxy beyond the civilized Core.

Senator Ha'Nook gave a firmer nod this time "Thank you Chancellor, though I would stress the need for pressing the Galactic Living Credit full reintroduction at the next setting to alleviate concerns at these Rim declarations"

The mask gave her own nod, firm, backed with a smile. The GLC would, of course, be pushed at the next opportunity as it was a sign of the needs of the lower and middle classes of the Core being met, and would undermine any opposition from less loyal worlds. None could object to the workers, and those unable to work, being grand a standard income…and those cogs in the machine, receiving such a stipend, would be brought to understand and serve the New Republic over time. All were cogs in the great machine of the Core, all parts of the greater whole of the Force, and such elements that opposed that…would be removed as the cancer they so clearly were. The time of the New Republic was here. Now, and forever…

[Senatorial Bar, Parliament of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Raxulon, Raxus Secundus, Raxus System, Tion Cluster, Tion Hegemony, Outer Rim Territories, Confederacy of Independent Systems]

Senator Mina Bonteri, stood, silently for now, amidst the erupting roars and shouts from the holo-screens filling the ever-chaotic Parliament building bar. The screens showed the Floor of Parliament as always, with even the Orbital Agriculture Sub-Committee at this late hour descending into a screaming, shouting, match on live holo-net. They were minor Senators, from 'restored' systems, as well as, like her own Onderon, on the border with dangerous enemies…enemies now seemingly united into one front. In vague, name only, sort of union for now, but a combination of rage, fear, and even mild panic was seeping through the corridors of power.

The Onderonian human reached up with a free hand, pinching the bridge of her nose to ease the building headache, then accepting the proffered drink from the serving droid. It had been just as unpleasant for much of the day, and being recalled, with it now being late at night here, was unpleasant as votes that were supposed to occur were no where near likely to happen now. Her own Democratic Unity Party's planned efforts…well, the legislation lined for the next voting dockets just weren't going to happen. Not when there was general anger, as well as a need to relitigate pre Civil War legislation as the Federationists and their new allies unilaterally declared the Confederacy itself to….not legally exist…

Ridiculous, but…causing a host of problems. Several of which would be with the implied devolution of Emergency Powers to the 'Military Authorities' in the Droid Pockets that…

"Senator Bonteri" a kind, friendly, feminine, and familiar voice came to Mina's ears "May I have a word?"

"Master Ti. Of course" Mina answered without looking around, the togruta female, former Jedi, and mouthpiece of the Silent Sith of the Neo-Sith Commonwealth…or the Mon Cala Union. Whatever name the manipulative, but rarely seen on Raxus, leader of the so-called Dark Council, wanted to use to avoid whatever legislation was proving troublesome at the moment. The worst part was that Mina felt the Parliament needed the damned Jedi and their Sith, for, loathe as she was to admit it, they were a hyperbrake on some of the stupider political efforts of the last decade "My private booth is available"

With a gesture the security guard, and droid, allowed her pass as the elegantly robed 'Jedi' walked just a step behind Mina, hands folded under sleeves, looking far more serene that Mina and others around her. She'd been expecting this sort of, public, outreach from the 'Coalition of Commonwealth Systems' as the political alliance called itself. Stepping in, and sitting down, she activated the privacy screens, while a quick, simple, check of the little artifact around her neck as an ornate amulet was there; something that, in theory and legend, offered some protection against the witchery of the Force. Just a touch, so as not to offend, then placed her drink upon the table.

"What position is your master taking"

Blunt was best here and now, and her head had no patience for extended flattery. Onderon was on the border of the Empire now after all, and felt even more exposed than yesterday. The other female seemed to take no offence, merely give a polite smile and a nod "As with your allies, our allies wish only for peace with the Trade Federation, and it's now allies to continue. We would rather the Mandalorian War end too of course, but, relevant for now…merely that events are not allowed to develop into dangerous directions"

Mina nodded, hands on the glass table "Then we are in alignment in that at the very least. But you have to be aware several existing legal, military, and various other frameworks are unended by the quorum. It is an effort at economic warfare against us"

"And to destabilise the situations of the Droid Army Pockets to their advantage of course" the 'Jedi' agreed with her serene manner "But, ultimately, such a stance is more acceptable when dealing with the increasing threat of the New Republic regime"

Mina sighed, shaking her head "If you are seeking to muster against any such entanglements, then be aware our support is there….but you will find little traction with the other opposition parties. Frankly, it is not hurting us electoral simply because of the location of our Sectors relative to certain borders, but, the matter has broadscale support across the majority of the Confederacy. Just as the madness with the Mandalorians does. Actively opposing diplomatic efforts from Coruscant that led, in theory at the least, would have proven difficult before the madness and insult that has just been thrown at us"

The hard part was that Mina's own relevance, from the heady days before and during the Civil War, had passed, and being dragged back into such…stupidity…again was something only duty ensured she saw too. They could not afford another war. Corellian Hells, they couldn't afford the war to reclaim systems they had now!

She sipped her drink, nodded to the 'Jedi' "But, we are open to negotiation if there is something that can be brought to the table…"
