While we are aware of difficulties in the Core and Non-Core regions, the fact remains we are an independent organisation based upon donations and seeking peaceful coexistence and exploration. We are also, painfully, aware of the dangers of piracy and other savagery in less lawful regions, considering the loss of our comrades three years previous. But I would further state the current increase in security forces feels more like a military garrison than a few mercenaries to see to our safety as is stated in the recent shift updates. This requires a significant allocation of precious funding that could be better spent on research and analysis systems, along with increased self-defence training and half the current defence turrets.
These are more than sufficient to see of any pirates, and anything larger is to be fled for; with armed guards and shuttles having no help to offer in such a scenario. This position has the support of the entire scientific team here at Site Four (attached), along with supporting signatures that use of funds towards such matters would be a sufficient help to massively increase our mission. For example our long-range system sensors indicate a major stellar storm, or celestial body beyond the Barrier that such improved systems would be able to analyse. This would be most helpful as we believe this sensor blob will impact the Barrier within four to seven standard years – potentially proving the Impact Barrier Theory. If we can allocate further funds, and be supplied superior equipment in the required timeframe, study of this phenomenon may be possible.

Report: Strange data collection behaviour observed from N Anor operatives in the field. Detailed genetic sampling is noted to be underway amongst multiple populations. Study and collection are significantly above stated requirements of the Rescue and Medical programmes of named entity. Owing to the loss of centralised databases, and the current status of conflict in the northern rim, we have reasons to believe this may indicate a significant possibility of elements of the northern galactic rim's resistance forces may be undertaking a biological warfare division or have already made progress towards creation of such a weapon as during the Fall.
As the named entity is nominally allied with Imperial interests, we require assistance in further, discreetly, investigating the matter. Owing to such a development being counter to be official and unofficial policy of the Empire, and ISA, we advise this matter be urgently investigated in case such a project is underway. This would be done prior to such an eventuality, or Force forbid, prior to a deployment of such a weapon. The situation is growing ever more chaotic with recent Republican advances, with reports of Orinda and Uba in their control proving a major exodus from any systems with available transportation. With the conflict extending into the 'Corridors' between the New Republic and Mandalorian territories increasingly, and raids by X-wings, the exodus currently is proving incredibly disorganised and chaotic. Simply put all our observations indicate an almost blind flight into any isolated systems, or towards the Unknown Regions by any elements within systems deemed 'enemies of the workers'. As can be obvious; this is, and will, place increasing strain of already overstretched inter-system transportation and haulage operations.
This is unlikely to improve, in fact it should worsen in coming months, as these vessels used for evacuation are unlikely to return to the general pool available. Those that flee are taking these vessels with them, oft packed with supplies, are very likely used as shelters in settling, or in a manner as to 'nomad' their way into territories deemed beyond New Republic, or Confederate, or Imperial, advances. The Confederate and Imperial avoidance are less common, but should be borne in mind as occasional, but the primary remains avoidance of New Republic advance with such numbers currently being in the millions, potentially billions.
Tracking of these impromptu colonisation fleet is to be avoided unfortunately, as mercenary forces, or rather former mercenary often enough, are often included in these flotillas of varying size. Hostile actions between groups has been observed, as well as purchases of old reactivations or new droid-controlled deep-colonisation efforts by some groups from Mygeeto as defensive production. This will, in the future, lead to potentially dangerous, if very interesting to study, lost colony models. Owing to the nature of the conflict, and our own status from the Core, what limited data that can be safely gathered will be gathered for the Department and University as a whole.
