86. Retribution
There's no consequence for being the antichrist in the digital world.
Kizuna raised a Lucemon (and ninety thousand other digimon for the record) but only Omegamon and Lucemon had something consistent to say. They struck up conversations, defied the people trying to kill them, among other things. But mostly they asked a lot of questions.
"There have been humans before," Lucemon says once. "Called by us, by gods. But this time, you came because you could."
Kizuna thinks it's more because her friends were nosy, but either is fine.
"You're still here," Omegamon says kindly. "With us! For the future. You can do it!"
Kizuna doesn't reply to this. She doesn't think she could.
It's easy to think the impossible is possible when you're not the one making it there.
