For 204, prompt: caring
89. Waiting
Ami is running late.
Taku is probably starving, or eaten all the rice in the cooker. Or-
She has learned not to think about the worst-case scenario. Ever since her worst thoughts were "you need to take care of Taku forever" instead of "just a little while", Ami has learned to keep herself not necessarily positive but driven.
Even after saving the world it makes her feel better.
"Ami!"
Shou's voice slows but doesn't stop her. He catches up with her, long legs and all. "Need help?"
"No," she lies, reflexively. She doesn't really, but it would be easier.
"So I can come along?"
Shou's voice is usually even. He's always been quiet, focused, determined, It's usually not towards her, not intensely like now. He's looking at her like he knows every thought in her skull and can answer them.
"I guess that'll be fine. Aren't your parents home?"
He snorts, a smirk playing at his mouth. "No."
"Yikes. Not bugging Tsurugi?"
"He's with Yuu tonight."
Ugh, his surgery is soon, isn't it? She'd nearly forgotten. "Then I don't mind."
He laughs and trails after her. "We can pick out a gift for Yuu together."
That helps. "Thanks, Sho."
"Mmhm."
