Once the General left, Nyx returned to where Larten was. The news that he was leaving was making her very uneasy. If he leaves, how long would he be gone and would her needs be taken care of during his absence? She didn't know the tricks of feeding off humans when they are sleeping nor she wouldn't ask any of the normal workers if she could feed off of them.

Would he even come back?

The child knocks on the door before entering. Inside the room, the vampire was sitting on a chair in deep thought, only giving a grunt when she entered.

"Gavner's gone." She spoke, seeing something deeply troubled him.

"Yes," he muttered in response.

Nyx tilted her head at him. "Is something wrong?" She asked him as she closed the door and approached him.

Larten glanced over at her. Debating something internally before letting out a sigh. "As it turns out, there is. Something came up that requires my attention and I would need to leave the Cirque for a while." He said as he got up and went where his belongings were.

Nyx frowned, her hands hiding behind her back. She didn't want him to leave.

"You need to pack as well, my dear." He then spoke.

"Huh???" Nyx looked up at him. "I'm coming with?"

Larten went to grab something before turning to look at her. "I would prefer not to bring you with me but alas I cannot leave you here."

"O-oh." Nyx said. "But why? This is home. Why are we leaving home?" Well to her, it was home.

"Remember, we are vampires, not circus performers. This is a means of cover, not our home." He responded then seeing how she was. He scratched the scar on his face before turning away from her. "Bring Evra along. Knowing you, you need someone to look after you during the day, especially where we are going. I am sure you can convince him to come otherwise."

"Evra's coming?" Nyx has a surprised look. Big brother was coming! That did bring her some comfort that at least she won't be alone in a new place during the day. "When are we leaving?"

"As soon as possible, go and make haste. I shall inform Mr. Tall of our departure." He said.

Nyx then ran to Evra's tent and informed him of the plans.

"Hmm, I don't know." Evra said unsure. He did figure that he would be on babysitting duty. Not that he ever minded.

"Please?" Nyx asked, standing over the snake boy. He was on the ground with his arms crossed and acted grumpy.

Then peeked his eyes with a smirk. "Alright, I'm in!"

"Yay!" Nyx cheered, jumping on him and Evra laughed, catching her.

"I can use the vacation, maybe go swimming or go see a movie for the first time." He chuckled.

"What's a movie?" Nyx asked, puzzled even. Have not known much about modern comforts.

No matter, the two quickly gathered what they could carry, Nyx gave Hans Madam Octa.

"Make sure she gets some worms to eat, the big fat ones specifically, she loves them." Nyx said with a giggle, seeing how uncomfortable Hans was holding the cage.

"Uh yeah, gotcha." Hans nervously smiled, holding the cage at a length.

"My snake will be hibernating, make sure to check on it from time to time." Evra said to Cormac Limbs and Truska. Truska responded in her language and nodded her head.

"I am sorry this comes so suddenly, Hibernius." Larten said to the tall ringleader.

"Not at all. Do not worry about us." Mr. Tall said. He casted a look over to the child and back at him. "Will she be fine where she's going?"

Larten looked hesitant with that question. "I do not know if I am being perfectly honest. She has not had an incident for over a year but we shall see what fate has us in store."

It would be very bad if she goes feral where they were going.

"I'm sure things will go well. Be strong."

Nyx and Evra said goodbye to Lefty before the three ventured off from the Cirque.

"Got everything you need?" Evra asked.

"Yup." Nyx responded, adjusting to her fuzzy coat and the strap of her bag across her chest. She then went up to Larten. "So how do we get to where we're going? Are you going to carry Evra and flit and I'll follow?"

Larten let out a soft chuckle. "No, that will not be necessary."

"Then how will we travel?"

"Buses and trains." He responded. "There are no laws against vampires using public transportation."

"Oooooh okay." Nyx said with a hum.

"One more thing, where we are going, you must not draw attention to yourself. There will be other humans where we are going, that means, you cannot flit when you are around them. Do you understand me?" Larten asked, taking in the consideration that Nyx has only two speeds since the time he knows her - walk and flit, no normal running in between.

"Yes sir." She responded then.

Whatever that was in store for them as they traveled into the unknown, one thing for sure, by the end of this trip, it was going to make Nyx regret ever leaving the safety and comforts of The Cirque.
