- How we doing, folks? I'm back with another update. Hard to believe the amazing growth of the views and likes this story's been getting but I'm not one to complain...my utmost thanks to all of you who have stuck with this so far.
- This chapter was a bit risky to put out, mostly because I didn't really have a set idea for it. I just kept writing and writing until I got something good...I hope. My writing ability usually fluctuates from somewhat decent to dreadfully terrible and that depends on my state of mind at the moment.
On the bright side, Peter Parker's back as the one true Spider-Man! I know it's a month late but I've been gone a while and when I finally heard the news, I was happy as hell and I still am.
Kudos to Peter for taking back his rightful place and without further ado, please enjoy this next chapter!
...
"Checkmate!"
Spider-Man sighed as the young blonde girl toppled the king piece on his side of the chessboard. From the corner of his eye, Peter could see Susan Richards and Sable fondly chuckling as they watched the adorable sight of her prodigal daughter playing with her surrogate uncle.
"I win again...3 to 2 matches." Valeria said with a proud smile.
Peter playfully rolled his eyes behind his mask before he took the young girl into his arms, much to Valeria's delight...not she openly expressed it but it showed in the form of a quiet yet clear enough squeal.
"Congratulations, my fair lady. Your strategies were flawless as usual."
"Indeed...but you are by far the most challenging opponent I've ever faced." Valeria praised, giggling when Peter touched the tip of her nose.
Sue giggled along as Spider-Man placed her daughter into her arms.
"Alright, sweetie. It's time for bed. You said one last game and then you'd go to sleep."
Valeria cutely pouted before yawning. "But I'm not tired."
Sable and Peter looked on in amusement as Sue gave her daughter an I'm-not-convinced-look.
"Ok, mother." She reluctantly conceded before reaching out for her webslinging uncle again. Sable and Sue shared a grin...it was just so cute the way Valeria interacted with Spider-Man.
The small blonde girl kissed Peter's masked cheek. "Goodnight, Uncle Spider. Promise you'll play me in another match the next time you visit?"
Spider-Man ruffled Valeria's hair, earning an approving smile from the young girl. "I promise...sleep well, Princess."
Valeria nodded and finally allowed her fluttering eyes to close as Spider-Man handed her back to Sue. Susan quickly thanked him before she made her way towards her daughter's bedroom to put her to bed.
"She's quite the girl...a genius yet still so childish at the same time." Sable said.
He chuckled at that. "Yeah, just don't let her hear you say that. Valeria likes to think of herself as an adult woman."
She sat herself down on Peter's lap with a smirk. "That's not surprising...but Sue and I agree on one thing that we noticed about your game with her."
"Hm? What's that?"
Sable pulled off his mask and affectionately kissed Peter's lips.
"...You'd make an excellent father one day. That's what we truly believe." She whispered, reluctantly pulling back her face.
Peter only responded to that with a blush and a sheepish grin, much to the delight of his royal girlfriend who only giggled at his adorable behavior.
"Ah, You really think so?" He managed to ask.
Sable warmly smiled. "Without a doubt...Hope and Arana really love having you as their mentor. You seem to know just the right things to say whenever they're feeling down and those two are always smiling in your presence."
Peter moved his hand through her soft silver hair. "Arana and Hope love you as well. They're always telling me about how beautiful of a Queen you are and they really enjoy the little stories you tell them about us...of course whenever I ask them about it, they don't say a word."
"Don't worry..." She smirked, "I usually just describe some of the endearing qualities you possess that they may not know about."
"Such as?"
Sable leaned into his ear. "Oh, just things like your amazing skills in making love to me..."
Peter immediately felt like his face was on fire. "Wait, what?"
"R-relax," She said, trying very hard to stifle her laughter. "I was just kidding. I wouldn't tell them anything about that now...maybe when they're older."
"...Oh."
Her expression immediately turned serious as she cupped his cheeks.
"But the way you make me feel everytime we have sex...oh god, you have no idea how difficult it is for me to resist the urge to jump you everyday, Peter." She seductively whispered with a grin.
Peter leaned in with a sly smile and passionately kissed Sable's lips. Smiling at the romantic gesture, she kissed Peter back with just as much love, her arms wrapped tightly but comfortably around his neck. The pleasant feeling of Peter's tongue wrestling with her own made Sable moan even more loudly out of pleasure with every passing second.
They were completely unaware that there was one other person in the room until...
"Ahem!"
Sable and Peter jumped at the sound of the voice as they slowly parted their lips and turned their heads to see Susan Richards looking at them with a coy smirk on her face.
"Well, I'm glad to see that your love for each other is as strong as ever." She joked, sitting down beside Peter.
Peter and Sable only blushed even further at that, prompting Sue to chuckle a bit more before she decided to take pity on them.
"But in all seriousness, I'm very happy for you, Ms. Sablinova...Peter knows how to keep the love in your relationship alive."
Sable and Peter noticed her voice carried a small tone of...envy when she spoke.
"...Is something wrong, Mrs. Richards?" She placed a gentle hand on her shoulder.
She managed to force a smile. "It's nothing...it's just been so long since the last time Reed kissed me like that."
Peter immediately knew what Susan was referring to. She often confided in him about her thoughts regarding her failing marriage with Reed Richards. It was difficult for him to understand how Reed could be one of the most brilliant scientific minds alive but when it came to cherishing the simpler but important things in life...well, Sue described him as a blind fool.
Sable didn't know what happened but she quickly understood the reasons for Susan's envy...it seemed the romance in her marriage to Mr. Fantastic was dwindling at a rapid rate.
"You want me to talk to Reed for you?" Peter offered.
Sue shook her head. "No, it's fine. Although, I'll have to confront Reed about this sooner and later and when I do...it'd mean a lot to me if you were there."
"Of course...I'm always here to help."
"As am I." Sable added, "I know it's not any of our business but there's anything I can do...just ask."
Susan gave her a grateful smile. "I will, Ms. Sablinova. Thank you."
It was silent for a few moments before the Invisible Woman decided to speak up again.
"So..." She said, "I hear you're both currently training Hope and Arana in how to be better superheroines."
Peter nodded. "Yeah...they know to pick things up fast though. It won't be long before there's nothing left for me to teach them."
"It's true." Sable proudly added, "They work hard in practicing the skills we've taught them whenever they're in the field...I suspect it's partly because they really want to impress their favourite superhero."
That caught Spider-Man's attention. "Wait, you mean me?"
"Yep...like I mentioned earlier, Hope and Arana really love having the world's greatest superhero as their mentor." The Symkarian Queen said with a smirk.
Susan giggled along with Sable at the bashful expression on Peter's face. He still wasn't used to hearing praise on a regular basis if the dark red on his cheeks was any indication.
"Heh, never thought I'd be a teacher for anyone but I'm glad I am...Arana and Hope are the best students I could ever ask for." Spider-Man stated with a proud smile.
Grinning at his words, both ladies leaned in closer and pecked a kiss on both sides of Peter's face...Sable's kiss stemming out of love while the Invisible Woman's kiss was one of friendly appreciation and support.
"W-wha?" Peter stammered, surprised at the sudden affectionate gesture from both ladies.
Sue smirked as she rested her head on his shoulder. "Just our way of showing our appreciation for you, Peter..."
"Appreciation? For what?"
"For doing such an amazing job of teaching the next generation of superheroines." Sable said, snuggling herself into Peter's chest with a content smile.
Peter remained speechless for a moment as he wrapped an arm around their shoulders.
"Would you mind teaching Valeria and Franklin as well when they're older?" Susan asked, enjoying the warmth of Spider-Man's arm around her body. "They really look up to you...even more so than their own father."
"If I'm still alive by then..." He joked with a morbid chuckle.
That comment earned Spider-Man a quick but painful jab to the sides from both Sue and Sable.
"Ow! Ok, I was just kidding. I'll be more than happy to teach them, just let me know when they're ready." Peter replied, wincing at the scary glares directed his way.
Sable and Susan maintained their glares for a few more seconds before they sighed and relaxed themselves back into Peter's arms. They were going to have to do something about his bad habit of underestimating how important he truly was...especially to them.
But for now, they all just wanted to enjoy this rare quiet evening for as long as it would last.
...
- Now I know some of you might see the latter half as Sue having some feelings for Peter and you can look at it that way if you want...but it's really more of close friends lending a supporting shoulder to each other when it's needed.
- In regards to my new story with Peter...I ask for your continued patience because crossovers are outside my normal realms of writing and I'm doing my best to get it decently written. Until then, I hope you've enjoyed this and reviews are still encouraged. Till next time, friends!
