- Hello, folks...it's been quite some time. You'll have to forgive me for that but getting adjusted to my new surroundings has been a bit problematic. It's still strange to me that I'm living on my own in a home I've never known. I'll have to remain here for now though so my heart is going to miss the Great White North for some time.
- As some of you might've expected, my writing has greatly waned in the past few months with ideas and concepts. It's actually a wonder I managed to write this chapter out at all but I digress. This idea did come into mind from time to time but I never acted upon it. Hopefully I did some justice with it...but that's obviously up to you guys.
Take pity on a very tired man if this is not to your liking. Nevertheless, I hope you all like this!
...
In one of the gyms located at Avengers Tower, Sable was deadlocked in a training spar with one of the most capable hand to hand specialists on the team. Her head ducked to avoid a swift punch and she retaliated in kind with a left hook of her own.
Natasha blocked the punch with a small grin before she moved in and quickly threw the Queen to the ground with a classic but effective Judo move. Seeing her opponent lying prone on the mat, the redhead relaxed her guard as she believed she had won...only to be knocked down to the mat hard when Sable kicked at her legs with a powerful right sweep.
The Queen of Symkaria and Russian Spy slowly sat up and stared at each other with an intense gaze for a moment before they relaxed with a small grin.
"Shall we call it a tie again?" Natasha asked.
Sable nodded as she stood up and offered a hand. "I guess we are evenly matched...if the last two rounds were any indication."
The redhead took the Queen's hand and pulled herself up before they both walked towards a nearby bench where their towels and water bottles awaited.
"So how are things between you and the Spider?" Natasha inquired curiously as she sat down.
The thought of her beloved Peter brought a small but warm smile to Sable's face.
"Things couldn't be better, Ms. Romanoff...although it'd be nice if the Avengers didn't take him away from me so often." She said with mirth.
Natasha smirked at the latter half of her statement. "My sincerest apologies, your majesty...but your beloved Mr. Peter Parker is a valued member of the Avengers despite what he himself may believe."
Both ladies shared a small chuckle at that. It didn't really matter where he was...it seemed Spider-Man still found it difficult to accept any kind of praise.
That rare quality of humbleness was one of the many reasons Sable loved Peter and she knew the world owed him a debt many times over that could never be repaid.
Natasha simply looked on at Sable and the warm smile on her face...the cause of which being Peter Parker, her cherished boyfriend. It was still a bit unusual for her to believe that the Amazing Spider-Man and the Queen of Symkaria were together but at the same time, she could understand and appreciate why Sable loved Peter.
"I can see why you love Peter...he's quite a rare find amongst men." Natasha complimented.
Sable's eyes rose in curiousity. "...I take it that means your heart once felt affection for Spider-Man too?"
There was a moment of silence before the Black Widow answered such a blunt inquiry. She wasn't sure how to reply to that without setting off a small reaction of jealousy.
"Perhaps once..." She slowly began, "I'm not certain whether it ever ended or even if it was what I really felt at the time."
"I'm afraid I don't follow." Sable said, a little confused at her words.
"Let's just say that there was a time when I wasn't...myself and the only person I could trust was Spider-Man. That trust grew a bit more than I realized and somewhere along the way, that part of me began to fall for Peter Parker." Natasha explained with a small smirk.
Though she had long put it behind her, it was still nice to remember the brief moment of time when her life was actually normal. When "Nancy" was able to go about her day without any of Natasha's current problems.
Sable didn't say anything at first...her heart flared up a little in jealousy but it was quickly overtakened by the realization that her beloved Peter simply helped Natasha when she was in trouble. She couldn't blame the beautiful redhead for becoming enamored with her boyfriend in times of presumable extreme distress.
"Looks like you haven't completely gotten over him yet." Sable pointed out with a friendly grin, noting the smile on the redhead's face.
Natasha chuckled. "Maybe not...but I can see you're truly happy with Peter as he is with you. I'm more than content enough to call him my trusted friend and I wish you both all the best in your lives together."
The sincerity within her words made Sable smile with a small blush of embarrassment as her hand was gently placed on the Black Widow's shoulder.
"Thank you. Peter's the best thing that's ever happened to me." She whispered with a grateful heart.
Natasha nodded before her lips slowly turned into a playful smirk. "Of course you'll have to forgive me if I can't help but sneak a look at Peter every now and then."
"You wouldn't be the first superheroine to do so...seems like every female X-Men and Avenger I've met has flirted or checked out my boyfriend." Sable pointed out with a small smirk of her own.
The Russian redhead simply shrugged. "Can't really blame us now, can you? I mean Peter's amazing package, body, and ass...you've certainly made a lot of us really envious of you."
"Well, Peter's mine and mine alone." Sable said proudly, "I don't mind you taking the time to appreciate him with your eyes...just as long the only thing you do is look and nothing more."
Natasha dramatically sighed and placed her hands in a pleading fashion. "Oh...you're asking for the impossible. At least let me be able to pinch that firm butt of Peter's."
"Hmm...I don't know. Such a privilege is meant for my fingers only." Sable played along, her hand holding her chin in a thoughtful manner.
A second barely managed to pass before Natasha and Sable broke down into gentle laughter. They both thought Peter was sexy but the way they joked with each other just now was simply too funny.
"What's so funny, my fair but lethal ladies?" A new but familiar voice asked from above.
Sable and Natasha turned their heads and looked up to see the handsome face of Peter Parker staring at them with curious hazel eyes...doing so while hanging upside down by his webbing.
"Hello, Peter." The Black Widow greeted with a friendly grin.
Spider-Man let go of the strand of webbing and gracefully landed on his feet. "Hey, Natasha...so who won the practice fight between you and Sable?"
Sable lovingly kissed Peter before she answered his question. "It ended in a tie, love. Neither of us could get the upper hand over the other for all three bouts."
"Whoa...that's pretty impressive."
"I suppose..." Natasha said with a shrug, "So how did your debriefing go?"
Peter wrapped his arm around Sable's shoulder and sat down between the two ladies. "It was alright...I still can't believe I managed to save that little kid though. Tony and Hank kept saying it should've been impossible for me to reach her in time but-"
"Peter..." The Black Widow interrupted, "It doesn't matter what the odds may have been, what's important is that you saved her."
Though Natasha didn't participate in this mission, she heard about what happened with Peter and his miraculous heroic action. Needless to say, it was quite the monumental task to accomplish.
Sable was a little unclear with the specific details but she knew enough from what Natasha told her and she agreed...that her beloved Peter managed to save an innocent life under such extreme conditions was very impressive.
"She's right." The Queen of Symkaria said, her hand caressing Peter's cheek, "You saved an innocent and precious life...that's all that counts."
His fingers gently held onto her hand with a small smile. "It's the only thing that matters, I know. It's...just a little hard for me to believe I saved her and I still managed to kick the bad guy's ass."
"Your entire superhero career has been about pulling off the impossible...why should it be any different now?" Natasha asked with a soft smirk.
The Symkarian Queen chuckled. "She's got you there, Peter."
Spider-Man raised his hands in mock surrender. "Yeah, gang up on old Spidey here. But in all seriousness...thank you both. I'm just glad the kid's okay."
"You earned our praise and gratitude a long time ago." Sable said with a smile before she pressed her lips against Peter's again. Natasha decided to follow the Symkarian Queen's action and her lips gently kissed Peter's cheek.
When she pulled away, the Black Widow couldn't help but smirk at the look of surprise on his face and the playful glare Sable was giving her.
"What? I'm just showing my appreciation for him too."
Sable firmly snuggled herself into Peter's chest . "Didn't I say you could appreciate Peter with your eyes only?"
"I said I'd try." Natasha jokingly retorted, "...So how about another round of sparring but this time, it'll be us against your lover?"
That snapped Peter out of his slight shock. "Uh, what? The two of you against me?"
Sable thought about it for a second before her head nodded in agreement.
"...Why not?" She said with a shrug, "With Natasha and I fighting together, we might actually be able to get past that spider-sense of yours."
Knowing that arguing against this idea would be pointless, Peter hesitantly stood up with a hint of fear in his hazel eyes.
"Alright...let me just get the first aid first. I'm gonna need it if I'm sparring against the both of you at the same time."
Both ladies simply smirked dangerously to that. "Don't worry...we'll go easy on you, Peter."
...
- Looks like Peter's gonna get hurt a little, eh? I'm happy to be getting back to writing but there is a lot of catching up for me to do in this area. With spare time being so far and few, I take the moments to write whenever I can. My heart and body's been very tired lately though and so I must ask for your appreciated patience when it comes to any new stories I may release.
- With that aside, I truly hope you all enjoyed this and while it's been a while, reviews are always welcome whenever you're able. My utmost thanks for staying with me thus far.
