Morning came to the Outlands, the sun creeping over the horizon, the predator plants roaring awake as the warm light reached their leaves. A rare moment of peace spread across the harsh and wild lands, as the inhabitants steered from their slumber. But like many things in the Outlands, the peace did not last, as a loud scream pierced the heavens.
"WHO TOOK MY STUFF?!" Lavertus screamed, waking everybody in the lair. They curiously got to their feet, still tired from their impromptu wake-up call. "Huh?" Laval voiced first, the others yawning behind him, sleep still in their eyes. "What happened?" he asked, intrigued as to why Lavertus was yelling so early in the morning.
"My stuff! IT'S GONE! From my locked room over there!" Lavertus said hysterically pointing at the door, before growling at Eris while pointing at her. "WAS IT YOU?!" he yelled accusatorily, knowing the eagle's interest in that particular door. "Me?! I'd never steal! It must've been someone else! You ask, Razar? Those ravens are the biggest thieves around!" Eris said matter-of-factly, having one too many interactions with the black birds.
"Why thank you for the compliment my friend, but sadly I cannot take credit for this idea," Razar said flattered, not minding her words in the slight less, he knew what he was. Seeing that avenue turned down, Eris deflected to another suspect, "Then, then what about, Rinona? The new girl! What do we know about her?" she accused out of the blue, still unsure of what to make out of the rhino girl. "Hey! Why are you blaming me?!" Rinona responded outraged, annoyed that Eris would turn on her so suddenly.
Sensing the rising tension, Cragger stands up and rushes to Eris, "Woah, woah, woah! We're not blaming anyone until we find out what EXACTLY was stolen!" he said, both calming her down and suddenly asking what exactly was behind that mysterious locked door. "My stuff! That I keep in my locked room! That's all you need to know!" Lavertus said resolutely, knowing what the croc was trying to do, before going to the door leading to the outside. "So, I'm just gonna step out and calm down for a moment. When I return, I either want my stuff, or I want all of you gone!" he said in an ultimatum, before leaving angrily.
Alone at the lair, Laval took it upon himself to get to the bottom of this, "Razar, are you sure you didn't?!" he asked accusingly, knowing the raven all too well. "Yes! I am! But now that he makes a big fuss, I am intrigued, yes?" Razar answers curiously before he runs to the locked door and uses a fork-looking thing to lockpick it. Seeing what was happening, Laval rushed to stop him, "Hold on! We can't just break into..." he tried before Razar opened the door and gasped. "HOLY RAZOLY!" he yelled out as the others all came in and found a peculiar helmet on the floor. "No way! Is that what I think it is?" Cragger asked, equal parts excited and baffled. "This... looks like it belongs to..." Laval says cautiously, delicately picking up the helmet, "ShadoWind?!" he finally states in awe, the black helmet gleaming in his hands.
Meanwhile, deep in the Crocodile Swamp dungeon Sparacon and the spiders are held prisoner with Crooler standing by them. "All right, you eight-legged freaks! My mother asked me to interrogate you, so this is how this is gonna work. We can either work together and reach an understanding, or I can ask the big guy to do it for me." She explains calmly, reminding them of the massive Crunch eagerly waiting in the wings.
While she's talking, Sparcon realizes something and secretly uses his spider arm to unlock the lock holding them captive. "Now, I understand you guys. Believe me, I've been in your position before. You want the power to rule over all Chima's chi. But believe me, it never ends well. You think you'll be all-powerful, but all you are is alone and isolated when they all turn against you! So, I'm thinking... Collaboration. Perhaps we can find a way to see eye to eye, to eye, to eye-" she begins to explain before Plovar flies into her mouth.
"PLOVAR! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Crooler cried out, annoyed with the little bird. "Why Crooley-ooley! Did you forget our teeth cleaning appointment?" Plover merely stated casually. "I HAD NO APPOINTMENT!" Crooler points out irritably, so distracted that she fails to notice the spiders breaking free. "This is my standing engagement with Craggy-wag, BUT since he's off gallivanting with the boys, he suggested I help you," Plovar informed her, not seeing how this was an inconvenience to her, as she continued to work. "Will someone get this ridiculous bird out of my mouth?!" Crooler asks exasperated, when suddenly a spider grabs Plovar. "Thank you." she said before she realized what happened and struggled for words, "Wait... How did you get out of your chains?" she managed, before screaming while she was held onto.
Back outside Lavertus's lair, said lion had finally calmed down and was currently busy tinkering with a mysterious object under a tarp. Up above, the raven legend beast crows while flying past with Lavertus's golden chi. "There you are beast. I'm coming for ya." Lavertus said resolutely, knowing just who was stealing his things. He grabs a rolled-up suit and makes for the door before he is intersected by someone.
"Going somewhere?" asks Cragger smugly, Lavertus quickly hides the suit. "Uh... yeah!" he says nervously, trying to get away. "Don't forget your helmet," Laval adds, giving him the helmet. "Thanks!" he says, nearly putting on the helmet but stopping when realizing what was happening. "So you are, ShadoWind!" Laval cried out excitedly. "What?! No! Where did this come from?" Lavertus retorted, playing dump to the situation. "Your secret room?" Eris said proudly, raising her brow with a knowing look, she knew she was right to question that room. "Huh?! What were you doing in there?!" Lavertus said annoyed, angry that they were snooping around in his place. "Finding out, you're, ShadoWind!" Cragger responded excitedly, not believing that he was face-to-face with the mystery racer himself! Or that the lion that had been creeping him up for the past few days WAS said mystery rider.
"Me? I never even heard of that guy. Or girl! Could be a girl! Did you think of that?" Lavertus said suddenly, with mock indignation in his voice as he played the gender card. "No, it's a guy," Laval answered back flatly, not buying Lavertus's words, having heard ShadoWind before. "And everyone knows he lives in the Outlands, yes?" Razar added, a knowing look in his scheming eyes. "They do?... I mean! No! I can't be, ShadoWind!" Lavertus said surprised, not certain just how much they knew, before going back to denying who he was. "Right! Cause if you were, you'd need some kind of super challenging speedor track to practice on." Cragger states sarcastically, pointing towards the "front yard". "Exactly." he says, before realizing what he said and closing the door, "That doesn't prove anything," he says quickly. "You're also holding his clothes." Eris points out knowingly, smugly pointing at the bundle of clothes. "Oh, what?! These old rags?" he says spreading out the clothing. "And is that ShadoWind's speedor?!" Woriz asked excitedly, pointing out at the object he had been tampering with before.
"No! ShadoWind rides a completely different speedor now! I mean... I have no idea what you're talking about. I can't be ShadoWind! I'm just some lion living in the Outlands, who happens to have the same helmet." Lavertus starts casually, before backtracking and going back to denying things. "And clothes." Eris points out, "And speedor!" Woriz adds as he reveals the ShadoWind speedor underneath the tarp. "I told you! ShadoWind doesn't ride that one anymore," he told them again, falling for their trap, Woriz chuckling proudly at their success.
"I was just grabbing some parts of it for my new speedor. I mean! ShadoWind's speedor! I mean..." Lavertus finally sighs defeated, "Okay. Yes, there might be a slight chance, I'm perhaps possibly, sort of, maybe, this rider you call... ShadoWind." he says, putting on the helmet and admitting it with a chuckle. "Now if you don't mind, ShadoWind needs to chase after the real thief! I figured out it's not any of you by the way," he says nonchalantly, walking away from the group. "Wait, you can't just admit to being ShadoWind and then run off without helping us!" Laval declared out loud, practically begging him for help. "Why not?" Lavertus questions sardonically, wanting to know exactly why HE had to aid them.
"Well, because... You're our hero! How many times did you save us?" Laval said, trying to explain. "And my mother too!" Cragger added shortly. "Dude, Chima will be bogus city without you, ShadoWind. I mean, Lavertus. I mean... Dude." Gorzan tried to explain, tripping over his words. "Yeah! So why won't you help us now?" Laval asked, pleading for his help. "I HAVE been helping you. Remember the cupcakes?" Lavertus said nonchalantly as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "We need help saving LEGEND BEASTS! And my father, King Crominus." Cragger declares, tired of the old lion's shenanigans. "Never! And if you don't like it, you can all LEAVE! NOW GET LOST!" Lavertus cried out harshly, his temper flaring at the mention of the king, clearly some history between the two.
"What? You can't just kick us out!" Eris cried fearfully, and a little indignant at the statement. "Yeah dude, so not cool." Gorzan agreed, shaking his head in disapproval. "And there's more of US, than you!" Woriz finished hostile, glaring his way. Ever trying to be the peacekeeper, Laval stepped forward, "Look! There's no need for this. You've been very kind to us so far Lavertus, we'll go peacefully. But first, we need to race!" he declared confidently, gesturing at Lavertus. "Huh?" the old lion mumbled, not expecting this from the young prince.
"I mean, come on! You're ShadoWind, Chima's greatest racer ever! And we're some of your biggest fans." Laval continued, playing up to his ego. "Fans?" Lavertus said chuckling in embarrassment, "Really?" he questioned modestly, the flattery getting to him. "Can't expect us to just leave without spending some quality time on the speedor track with one of our favorite racing heroes!" Laval continued, laying on thickly, as he continued to sweet talk the older lion. "Me? A hero?" Lavertus wondered out loud, not sure how to react to his words, shyly tapping his hands together. "Yeah!" Laval declared excitedly, as he did think of him that way. "I have been anxious to try out my new, super speedor." Lavertus admitted genially, while also taking up his newest creation.
"And just to make it interesting, how about a small wager? We'll move on without another word," he says, much to the other's surprise and outcry. "But if we win, you have to help us save the legend beasts." He finishes with a smile, the bait in the water, now just waiting for the bite. Lavertus takes off his helmet with a smile, his competitor's nature intrigued, "hm..." he mumbled, thinking deeply about his proposal.
Out by his track, Laval prepares his speedor for the coming race, his friends watching over him. Increasingly more worried, Eris walked over to her friend's side, "Laval, you do realize this is, SHADOWIND! He never loses!" she told him with exasperation, not liking their chances of winning. Just then, Lavertus with his entire ShadoWind gear equipped rides to the side of Laval on top of his new speedor. Longer, faster, and double the power, this new more motorcycle-like speedor was a thing to behold.
"Better take a look at the front now because or you'll be seeing in this race," he begins as he drives forward, "is my backside!" he finishes, chuckling while driving away. Now more worried than ever, Cragger steps up, "Uh... How exactly are you going to beat him, Laval?" he asked, starting to lose faith in his buddy. "Oh! I'M not beating him. We ALL are!" Laval said smugly, grinning at his friends, a plan on his mind.
Later, at the starting line, Rinona begins the race and as soon as Lavertus's engine turns on, he takes off and leaves Laval to taste his dust. Laval coughs, but immediately goes after Lavertus when the dust clears. Going through some obstacles along the track, after Laval jumps a ramp, he meets Eris who is up ahead before he jumps another. "Take it from here, slider girl!" Laval says as he jumps away so Eris can take the wheel. "Ah!" Eris cries as she flies over the ramp with some help from Razar. Lavertus notices this, growling in annoyance as he revs his engine, determined to win. Up ahead, Eris spots Gorzan hanging from a branch, "Hey." he signals as she closes by. "Go, go, Gorzan!" she cheers as Gorzan jumps into the driver's seat from above and she flies out of the way.
Further up the road, Lavertus waits to continue for a quick second when he approaches a spinning obstacle, but Gorzan shows somewhat superiority by going right through it like it was nothing. Close by, Bladvic waits above a cave, preparing for his turn as Woriz helps. "Careful, that cave is pitch black!" the wolf warns him, having just come out of the cave. "No problem. I can do this time with my eyes closed. In fact..." Bladvic yawns and falls asleep, being dropped into the driver's seat that goes through the pitch-black teeth, snoring while driving through it to the exit. He does the same thing too floating on the creek's water, confusing Lavertus. Then Cragger is seen underneath the water riding the speedor at the bottom thanks to his crocodile swimming abilities. Lavertus is quick to think and hops stone to stone to get to the land on the other side, reaching it just the same time as Cragger does. "Hey, where'd you come from?!" he asked, nay demanded, as he got to the other side. "Sorry! But we fight as a team, and we race as a team!" Cragger answers back smugly, grinning as he rushes forward. "What?! Is that even allowed?!" Lavertus wonders aloud, following suit, as he notices Rogon now on the wheel. "Why not? Better look out though!" the rhino answers truthfully, before warning him of the obstacles ahead. The mysterious now revealed speedor racer is forced to stop when he comes across a spinning giant rock. Rogon instead rushes straight forwards, "AH!" he cries, punching the rock out of the way and allowing Lavertus to follow behind. Laval then takes back his rightful place on his speedor, Rogon grunting while he rolls away, but seems okay afterwards. Laval crosses the finish line, everyone cheering for him, but the victory goes to them all.
Arriving shortly afterward, Lavertus throws his helmet away angrily, "No fair! You cheated!" he complains, pointing an accusatory finger at the others. "Speedor race rules say NOTHING about midway substitutions!" Laval counters, pointing out the rules in a matter-of-fact way. "Yeah, 'cause no one's ever been able to pull it off before!" Woriz reveals gleefully, proud that they managed to do it! "Nice work, team dudes!" Gorzan congratulates them in his usual friendly manner.
"But... I lost. That never happens!" Lavertus said shocked, still in disbelief as to what had just happened. "Don't worry. It took EIGHT Of us to beat ONE of you! You're still the champ as far as I'm concerned." Laval tells him sincerely, reassuring the former mystery racer. "Working together, there's nothing we can't do!" Cragger adds proudly, putting an arm around his friends. "Exactly! So, ready to work together with us, Lavertus?" Laval states confidently, extending a hand to the old lion. Lavertus sighs in defeat but learns to accept it and nods to honor his end of the bargain.
Back in the Crocodile Swamp, some time had passed since Crooler had been asked to go to the dungeons. It should not have taken so long for her to talk to the spiders, even if they were resistant, Crunket was worried. Walking towards the dark halls that lead to the dungeons, she made haste through the twisting corridors ahead of her. "Your Highness is everything okay?" asks a raspy voice behind her. Turning, she saw the familiar presence of Acidicus slithering forward. "Acidicus! Everything is fine, I hope." She replied softly, surprised, and glad to see the old snake. "What brings you here?" she asked, curious as to the snake's presence in these halls. "Crooler has yet to return, I figured I could aid in persuading the situation with our prisoners," Acidicus said, showing his fangs, his intention clear. "Yes, it has been far too long, I too am going to check up on her. Though I would rather not have to resort to torturing the prisoners Acidicus!" she said in an exasperated tone, still glad for his company. "It is just a suggestion! We shall see if it is needed!" he adds in a playful tone, smirking at the croc as he slithers ahead of her. Crunket just rolls her eyes exasperatedly, before she follows after him.
Turning a curve, Acidicus four eyes shot up in surprise, "No!" he said simply before rushing forward. Intrigued and worried, Crunket followed suit, only to stop before the shocking scene. "Crunch!" she yelled surprised as she rushed forward to help. Crunch, the strongest crocodile in the swamps was being held captive by thousands of webs, covering him in a thick cocoon that not even he could break through. Acidicus was busy untangling his maw, needing to know what exactly had happened. "Crunch, are you alright? What happened?" Crunket asked the massive croc, gently holding his head up.
"Crunch ambushed! Spider ran off, took something. I tried to follow, they attacked. I fought, but webs too strong!" he said softly, exhausted from his struggles. "Crooler!" they both said to each other before Crunket hastily entered the dungeons while Acidicus worked to free the rest of Crunch. Opening the doors, she was both relieved and worried to find Crooler chained up to the wall. "Crooler! What happened here?!" she asked worried, while she went to free her daughter from the chains. "Mother! They got out of their chains and then they grabbed me. I said, "You're not gonna kidnap me!", then they took Plovar instead." Crooler explained hurriedly, glad to see her mother for a change. "Whatever would they want with him?" Crunket wondered aloud, confused as to what use the spiders could have for the bird.
Back in the Outlands, inside Spinlyn's beauty cave, Plovar is cornered by some spiders and terrified. "I hear, you're a master craftsman of the meld. Is this so?" asks the spider queen, inching in closer to the petrified bird who shrieks in fear. "Ah, my beauty's left you speechless." she says before looking at her reflection in a mirror, "Don't feel bad, it happens all the time." She said arrogantly, her spiders chuckling in agreement behind her. "But even someone this ravishing needs maintenance. And occasional repair!" she states, showing Plovar her somewhat healed tooth.
"AH! I mean... I-I think I can help." Plovar said freaked out but managed to calm down enough to talk. "Wonderful! And if you can't, well... Then I'll eat you," Spinlyn said wickedly, smiling at her catch. "AH!" Plovar lets out, nearly paralyzed in terror. "Nature. Yum yum, yes, yes?" Spinlyn said mockingly, making it clear what would happen should he fail her. Plovar merely gulped in fear, chattering his teeth as he prayed for salvation.
Meanwhile, out in the Outlands, the whole crew rides past the predator plants with Lavertus's guidance. "This way, everybody," he calls out, leading them through the treacherous terrain. To reach their destination, they need to ride through a landscape with nothing but rocks around. The ground is hard and there are pillars all around, with rocks placed on top of those pillars like a seesaw.
The rolling of everyone's wheels makes the ground shake and one pillar goes unstable. "Quiet, please, or else." Lavertus warns them before a giant rock falls from its pillar and makes a wave in the water blocked by a rocky barricade. Now aware of the dangers, the group continue their journey, watchful of their surroundings.
They would eventually make it to their destination, the scorpion caves. Inside the caves, a black and silver scorpion with yellow eyes wearing detailed armor with several tiny green diamonds marches forward. This is General Scolder, second in command of the scorpion army, second only to the scorpion king himself. He marches slowly through his giant group of scorpions, while the heroes are hiding in the distance.
From their hiding spot, they hear a distant crowing coming closer. "Look!" Lavertus says, drawing their attention to a massive black bird in the distance. "The raven beast!" Razar exclaims in excitement, watching his tribe's beast fly by. "With the golden chi he stole from me!" Lavertus reminded him, irritated by the bird. "Ah! The beast is a master criminal, who alludes his pursuer. This warms my thieving heart, yes?" Razar said proudly, staring at his beast with admiration.
"Except for one thing." he points out, showing the beast drops all the chi next to Scolder, "He's working for the scorpions!" he reveals to them, catching them all off-guard. "WHAT?! How'd that happen?!" Razar cries out distraught, unable to believe what he is hearing. Lavertus sighs before responding, "I fear this is all my fault." his head hangs low as he reveals his story.
"I wasn't always the mystery rider you know as ShadoWind. Not long ago, I was just an exiled lion, minding my own business in the Outlands. Not having to worry, except for the occasional snake attack! When suddenly, THEY showed up!" he tells them, remembering walking through the Outlands freely before being surrounded by members from the dark tribes.
"Bats, spiders, scorpions! No, thank you! The snakes were bad enough, but at least they kept to themselves! These guys were just looking for trouble! I needed to protect myself," he mentions, remembering winning a race in Chima and using it to reinforce his lair in the Outlands.
"So, I began racing for the golden chi. Since I was in exile, I had to hide who I was. The Golden Chi I won helped me build my gauntlet and my lair, to keep me safe." he explained to them, revealing why he did what he did. "I was storing them, so I could make higher walls around my place. Guess walls aren't enough anymore, not when these scorpions can control the mind of a legend beast."
"Ah! Impossible! We ravens are crooks, but we are not bad guys my friend!" stated a distressed Razar. "It's not the beast's fault; once they sting you the scorps control your mind. That's why I built this armour for the other legend beasts." Lavertus explained, informing the group of the dangerous capabilities the scorpions possess. "Mind control? Like when you use a persuader plant on someone, and they do whatever you say?" Razar wondered aloud, catching the attention of the others, and a look from Lavertus. "Huh? What are you talking about?" Cragger asked, the only one to question what the raven was talking about. "Oh! Nothing important, no need to worry about it! Anyway! I'm just glad I brought along my "secret weapon"!", the raven says nonchalantly before he pulls a full bag of something from his speedor.
"WHAT IS IT?!" Woriz asked, intrigued about what the crafty raven was up to. "Ah! It would not be a "secret" weapon if I told you what it was, yes?" he states playfully, a smug grin on his face. Woriz just growled while crossing his arms, not amused with the raven's antics. "Okay, Lavertus knows this cave, Razar and I will follow him in," ordered Laval. "The rest of you, follow me!" Cragger adds authoritatively, as the team split into their respective teams. Woriz starts up his speedor and the eight heroes charge into battle with a scream.
Down by the cavern entrance, Scolder prepares to confront the incoming attackers, "NO ONE GETS PAST US!" he bellows confidently, ordering his troops about. "Yes, general Scolder!" they replied as they got in position. Jumping up a ramp, Lavertus, Laval and Razar fly over the scorpion's heads and enter the cave. Got slightly off guard by this, Scolder comments, "Okay. NO ONE "ELSE" GETS PAST US!" he says as all the scorpions charge towards the rest.
While deeper inside the caves, Lavertus leads the Laval and Razar through the cavern's traitorous routes. "It's this way, I think." Lavertus lead them cautiously, trying not to get caught. They come upon a group of scorpions, crackling while they stand guard, causing the group to stop. "Uh... Any advice?" Laval asks nervously, unsure of how to move forward. "Yeah! Always take the "high" road." Lavertus says confidently, as he rides above the heads of the scorpions by riding on the ceiling, Laval and Razar following his example. Laval growls while riding above the scorpions and using his sword to block their tails.
Once to the other side, Lavertus and his group carry on while the rest of our heroes fight on. And though they get the upper hand, a scorpion manages to sting Bladvic from behind. "THAT STINGS! Uh oh," he screams, his eyes turn green. "Yes, you are under our control now foolish invader. ATTACK YOUR FRIENDS!" Scolder orders, taking advantage of the situation. Bladvic growls while zombie walking towards Cragger, but falls asleep and probably snaps out of it, just like they had against the hypnobrai in the past. "Ha! Even your scorpion venom can't keep that bear awake!" Cragger says before he pushes a multiple-legged scorpion out of the way and goes to battle Scolder. After a lengthy battle of blocking and attacking, Cragger ends up winning.
Meanwhile, inside Lavertus stops his speedor in front of a large room up ahead. "That way," he says silently, as they enter the room. Inside, a golden-plated scorpion stood in the center of the room. A regal set of armor laid upon his shoulder, denoting his position in the tribe. For this was Scorm, the scorpion king himself!
Picking up a golden orb, he walked over and spoke, "We shall honour the great scorpion in the sky, who dropped that mighty chi for us down into the gorge." he proclaimed with devotion, raising his view above. "Uh... Spinlyn the spider queen said it was the great spider in the sky who dropped us that chi." a simple scorpion warrior interrupted, drawing his king's attention. "And shouldn't we be using that golden chi the raven stole to start building our fortresses?" added another multi-legged Stomper Scorpion, suggesting a more tactical solution.
The two suddenly screamed as they were punished by being whipped from Scorm's tail. "Oh, I'm sorry. Did you say something, Scutter?! Scrug?" he scorned them both by name, daring them to interrupt him again. "Yeah, I was just saying-" Scutter, the multi-legged one tried again before being whipped again. Scorm wasn't known for his patience; in fact, he was as impatient as he was dramatic, evil, and short-tempered. Controlling his minions either with his hypnotic sting or the force of his unpleasant personality!
"Just use that golden chi and start sculpting. See the design?" Scorm ordered dismissively, with both subordinates getting some golden chi and using their power to continue building a giant stone-made scorpion with only its tail done. The heroes looking at them from their hiding spot, "THIS is why they steal the chi, yes? To build a big statue?!" Razar asked in disbelief, not being able to grasp the waste of power before him. "Just one of the many reasons why I tried to avoid them. That and the fact that they are very VERY dangerous!" Lavertus warned them before he and Laval screamed screaming in fright when Scutter managed to sneak past them and nearly stung them with his tail.
"KING SCORM! INVADERS! IN OUR CAVE!" he warned his king, sounding the alarm. "WHAT?! SQUISH THEM ALL!" Scorm ordered, as all the scorpions charged towards them. "RAZAR! NOW WOULD BE A GOOD TIME TO BRING OUT THAT SECRET WEAPON OF YOURS! WHATEVER IT IS!" Laval said in a panic, ushering his raven companion to add. "Yes, my friend!" Razar responds resolutely, as he shows some jars of paint, "Three jars!" he reveals proudly, finally showing off his "secret weapon".
"A couple of cans of paint?" Laval said in disbelief, not seeing how they could be of any use to them. "Yes, gold paint. I BURROWED it from Lavertus's lair." Razar clarifies, not getting how he couldn't understand their brilliance. "What?! We're not here to decorate! WE'RE HERE TO SAVE A LEGEND BEAST!" Laval yells out exasperated, only for Lavertus to interrupt. "Exactly, and ravens love gold.' He said, understanding what Razar was going for. With a mischievous grin, Razar opens a can of gold paint and spills the paint all over the scorpions.
Utterly confused at the action, the scorpions halted in their tracks, "Did you just, paint us?" Scutter asked them. "No, my friend, we have turned you into, "golden treasure!"," Razar responds with a knowing smile. "Aww, that's sweet, but we still have to squish you." answered the dimwitted Scrug innocently. When suddenly the raven legend beast started crowing loudly and stared at the scorpions who were covered in gold paint, flying in front of them with his greed taking out his mind control, crowing one more time before running towards the "golden treasure".
"WHAT'S HE DOING?!" Scutter wondered fearfully, watching the beast getting closer. "What a raven does best! Stealing all the gold!" Razar said manically, as the scorpions screamed while they were shaken around from inside the raven's beak. "Wow! Let's go for the gold!" Laval said awe-stroked at the scene before him before he gave Razar and Lavertus some more paint. Laval and Lavertus hop on their speedorz, while Razar cheers while boarding the raven legend beast. The beast crowing more while collecting more scorpions and placing them all in a giant pile. Laval splats some more paint on some more scorpions and the raven beast gladly takes them to the pile, the scorpions screaming in fear as he does it. "Very nice, my beast! First we steal, then we stash, yes?" Razar commends his beast as some more scorpions are put on the pile.
Meanwhile, Scorm looks on enraged, "Pathetic! You can't beat me even a little bit!" he cried arrogantly, posed to strike. The raven beast crows while flying, but is then stung, however, it immediately shakes the mind control away. "Ha! The one thing more powerful than your tail poison my friend, is the greed of a raven, yes?" Razar declares proudly, "And by the way, is that armour gold?" he asks smugly before turning towards the scorpion king. Scorm runs away screaming but is thrown to the top of the pile with a growl. The raven beast crowded in victory from atop them, looking for more treasure to take. "HIDE THAT GOLDEN CHI BEFORE THE RAVEN BEAST SEES IT!" Laval yelled out hurriedly. Lavertus rushes to his golden chi and wraps it in the great scorpion's drawing paper. But a scorpion shows up with a giant machine and shoots at them, causing them all to flee with everything they need. The tank chases them, knocking Razar's speedor to the side as he goes, forcing the heroes to leave the machine behind.
Outside, the rest of the group continues to fight away, with the rest of them coming out of the cave. "Here comes one golden opportunity!" Laval quipped contently as they jumped a ramp, spilling the rest of the paint on the remaining scorpions. The raven legend beast crows while flying after the scorpions who run away screaming back to the cave but are put in the pile. Scolder himself screamed while trying to avoid the giant bird but was still grabbed and placed atop a pile of his soldiers. "What a deal my friend! Throw them all on the treasure pile, yes?" Razar commanded gladly, the scorpions screaming while retreating into the cave as the heroes cheered.
Inside the scorpion caves, the scorpions continue fleeing in terror, running across an enraged Scorn atop his Scorpion Stinger tank. "A retreat?! GENERAL SCOLDER! HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN!" he demanded with a scream, enraged at the state of his army. "They're too fast! We can't stop 'em!" his second in command tried to explain, warry of his king's wrath.
"Yes... The invaders beat us because they were fast, and they had these speedy wheely things." Scorm relents, thinking about the events that had transpired. "They also had all that cool paint!" Scutter adds absentmindedly, "And some pretty cool weapons." Scrug commented as well before they both grunted when they were hit with Scorm's tail. Noticing Razar's discarded speedor, he walks over to it and nibbles on the wheel, "I recognize that flavor. I think we can make some of these. Get the spiders and bats! We need to return to the floating mountain." He said sinisterly, a plan already forming in his wicked mind.
Later that night, our heroes are celebrating with cupcakes safely inside the lair. "Only four more legend beasts to go!" Cragger says with a cheer, spirits high after the day's victory. "And now with the help of ShadoWind, there's no way we can't succeed!" Laval said, confident about their chances. At that moment Lavertus comes from his room and sighs with a smile, warming up to the kids.
Meanwhile, at Mount Cavora the bats screech while dropping off some troops on Mount Cavora. Lagravis and Longtooth look at what their enemies doing through a telescope with intent. "They're not stealing the chi?" Lagravis comments surprised, and confused as to what the crawlers were up to. "No sir, it looks like they're trying to chip off some of the mountain's tribe stone rocks!" Longtooth informs him, taking another look through the telescope to make sure. "But tribe stone rocks are only used for one thing... Speedor wheels." The lion king pondered intently, mind racing as he pondered their foe's next move.
But something was certain, no matter what they were up to, things were about to get a lot more complicated.
Author's Notes:
Hold on to your seatbelts, cause things are about to speed up! Lavertus is finally revealed and officially joined the group, which means our guide will be far more involved going forward. So not much longer until the group reaches the snake temple! I want to thank everyone who left a suggestion for the slither pit, it was a real help. Unfortunately, I have been feeling a little burned out recently, so I will be taking longer breaks between chapters, but I do not plan on canceling this story. I plan to continue until the end of the dark tribes before taking time for my other story, then finish up with the fire vs ice when the connection between Ninjago and the Wylderness is further explored. I have a lot of fun ideas that I'm eager to try out!
Like always, thank you for reading, and until next time!
