"What did you have in mind?" Zak asked.

"Just an experiment," Skye said carefully.

"He won't answer," Beckett said. She wasn't surprised when the investigator looked at her and they said at the same time, "Anais will."

Nodding Skye said, "Then I'll see what happens anyway." She turned her attention to the tablet in her hands and said while she typed, "I will investigate your murder Anais." As soon as she had entered the text the words find and Zak appeared on the screen and were said before the lead investigator was speaking.

"Does she want us to investigate?" Zak asked.

"I think she knows you saw her diary," Skye replied. "I'm going to need to look at it myself. But I could use the help."

"I would have to mention it to Brad," Beckett said since the investigator was looking at her.

"We would," Castle told her.

"Alright," Skye said. "Since it's a cold case we have carte blanche right?"

"To a degree," Beckett said. "But keep going, we'll talk to Brad in the morning."

"Alright, now back to questions," Skye said. "Anais," she said before she began typing. "Did you see who brought Duncan's body?"

Seeing the words, fear and away on the screen Mary told her wife, "She may have stayed upstairs because of that."

"I think she did," Skye said with a nod. "I guess you guys are lucky, how would you explain clues from a spirit in court?"

"We've found ways," Beckett murmured, hoping the camera wouldn't pick it up.

"I wouldn't worry," Jay said. "We do a lot of editing."

"Okay, then go back to speaking to Anais," Beckett said, not surprised when her husband was squeezing at her hand.

"I'd like to speak to Duncan actually," Skye said. "Anais left as soon as I mentioned him."

"Which would explain why it said away," Billy commented.

"And fear," Mary added. "The body being brought to where hers had been?"

"Good point," Zak said. "Would you ask Duncan if he knows who murdered him and Anais now that's he's deceased."

After she had typed the question, Skye said, "No response. Though to be honest that doesn't surprise me. Newly dead he's still adjusting to where he is."

"Will he be able to tell you anything?" Jay asked.

"Of course, in time though," Skye said. She hesitated and then said, "Also if he even saw his killer," not surprised when Beckett was the first to respond.

"What do you see?" she asked.

"He's favoring the back of his head," Skye explained. "But he's not letting me see anything of it. You'll have to let me know what happened to him; he needs to know." She then glanced around the tent and said with a sigh, "He's gone, everyone's gone."

"Do we need to wrap things up?" Zak asked.

"I think so," Skye said simply before she stood and left the tent.

"I'll go to her, she had two spirits with her," Mary said, getting up to leave as well.

"Do you need help again?" Castle asked while he and his wife were standing up.

"No," Zak said, "We'll be able to get this taken down quick."

Watching the men Beckett said, "You'll come back." She wasn't surprised when all four were looking at her and she said, "You might get something when she helps all three pass on."

Stopping, Zak said, "And we can see how the house feels after that point."

Nodding once Beckett responded, "You haven't had an investigation go full circle like that."

"It takes time," Jay said before he closed the box for the screen. He then said, "I think we should, we were talking about staying longer."

"You're sure Skye could solve Anais' murder?" Aaron asked.

"I'll do my best," the investigator said, having entered the tent. "With your help of course." Something came to her and she asked Beckett, "Can we film that investigation?"

"We'll ask Brad," she replied.

"Hopefully," Castle said, not surprised the four from the GAC crew were nodding in agreement before they moved to finish removing the items in the tent.

"I think that's them," Julia whispered to Mari from where they were standing in the hall that led to the garage.

"I hope so," the girl replied.

Turning to her friend Julia said, "You're cold?" When she saw Mari was nodding she hugged her and said, "Go back in the house."

"No! I want to know what happened too," Mari protested.

Though she wanted to speak, Julia whirled at the sound of the garage door opening and said, "What happened?"

"Girls," Beckett said, startled to find the two in their pajamas and robes in the hall. "Come inside it's freezing," she told them before her second oldest was speaking.

"I told Mari to go back inside, I just wanted to see what happened. And if you were okay," Julia said in a rush.

"And you?" Castle asked, entering behind his wife. They continued into the entry and he said, "And with what happened, to be honest we're not sure."

"How-" Julia started to ask with a frown.

"Brad didn't tell us, only the name of the victim," Beckett interrupted her, looking back to see the McDouglases and the four from Ghost Adventures were in the house. "And whatever else we find out we'll tell you tomorrow."

"I don't have to go to school," Julia said slowly.

"No, since you did stay up late," Beckett said, glancing at her husband when he didn't respond. "But you need to go to bed now."

"We're going ourselves," Skye commented.

"She's right, I want her to get as much rest as possible," Mary said firmly. She then looked at the four men with them and said, "Are you serious about investigating?"

"They are," Skye said with a smile since the men looked a little startled at her wife's tone. "Actually I could use the help."

"Me?" Jay asked, since he'd been looking at her. When the investigator merely nodded he said, "Just me."

"No, but I'm aware you're good with research, I could use some help with that," Skye explained.

"Are you all going to bed?" Castle asked after his wife had given him a pointed look.

"We are," Zak said. "So we'll see you in the morning."

After they'd said goodnight to the others, Skye let Mary lead her upstairs to their room watching while the girls were ushered down the hall to Julia's. Once they were inside she closed the door behind them and said to her wife, "I'm fine."

"I can tell," Mary said a little wryly. "But if you're going to investigate this case you'll need that rest. And if you're going to keep two spirits with you then you definitely need it."

Nodding Skye said, "Then we should get ready for bed." She wasn't surprised when her wife was agreeing with that before they were moving to change. Once they'd finished and were laying in bed in the dark she looked up at the ceiling, closing her eyes while her wife was laying close to her side.

Her dream came to her swiftly and Skye found herself in Briar Grove, running down the hall. The end of it, though she was well aware it was a wall in reality, was a mass of black shadows before she was trying her best to turn away. But her body was continuing, nearly flying towards it and she was ready to let out a scream when she heard a voice calling to her frantically.

"Rose! Rose wake up, please," Mary was begging her wife. When the investigator's eyes flew open she wasn't surprised to see the differently colored irises were unfocused for a moment. "It's me grá," she said tenderly, caressing Skye's hair gently. "You were having a nightmare," she explained when the investigator still looked confused.

"Yeah I was back at the manor," Skye replied while she sat up. Rubbing her face for a moment she said, "I was in the hallway upstairs and the end was black." Shaking her head she corrected herself saying, "Shadows, all in shadow. It has something to do with Anais' murder but I'm not sure what."

"Did the victim reach out to you at all too?" Mary asked, holding her breath for her wife's answer.

Shaking her head Skye said, "That was all Anais so don't worry."

"I can't help it," Mary replied, pressing her lips to the side of her wife's head. "Because I'm still worried that this is affecting you already."

"Of course it did," Skye said before sighing. She looked at her wife and said, "And it's going to continue until I can get everything wrapped up for Anais. Duncan is going to need to wait to see what the police find out." She wasn't surprised when her wife was wrapping her arms around her and hugging her tightly before she said, "We should go to sleep."

"No," Mary said.

"No?" Skye asked, startled at how vehemently her wife was speaking.

"I know what you're going to do," Mary replied, looking deeply into her wife's eyes.

"Do?" Skye said.

"Stop using just one word," Mary said in mock annoyance. "And yes, you're going to stay awake or try contacting Anais… or both."

Sighing Skye said, "I'm a little afraid of what I'm going to see."

"Then why don't we distract you?" Mary asked simply. At her wife's slow incline of her head she leaned into her and kissed her deeply before she was reaching for the shirt her wife had on.

"Wait," Skye said. "It's late."

"And you'll sleep better," Mary said firmly, watching her wife hesitating still before she was responded.

"Then this will be quick," Skye stated.

"No," Mary replied firmly before making her wife pull back slightly. She gently pulled the shirt Skye wore up over her head and once it was out of the way she wrapped her arms around her tightly so she could kiss her. She was relieved when her wife was responding to her and their tongues were tangling around each other gently before she ended it with Skye tugging at her shirt to her surprise before the investigator was murmuring against her lips.

"You're going to need to let me do the same for you," Skye said with a smile when her wife was looking at her with a startled expression on her face.

"You didn't think I was going to let you?" Mary asked. When her wife leaned into her and brushed her lips against hers she said, "Help me grá."

Unable to help smiling, Skye said, "As long as you do the same for me."

"I started this," Mary said, making her wife lay down. She reached for the pants her wife's legs were clad in and pulled them off, leaving her in her panties. "White?"

"Don't read anything into that," Skye said swiftly, reaching for them to remove them herself. "They were on top and I wanted to hurry." She was relieved when her wife nodded and assisted her before they were working on the rest of her clothes. She kissed Mary tenderly for a little and once they were parting again she was about to make the doctor lay down when she stopped her at the same time she spoke.

"Before you do anything," Mary said before she was making her wife lay down. "I think I had the idea for this first."

"You did," Skye replied, drawing her wife to her for another kiss. "But we're doing this together."

"Yes," Mary said firmly before she was shifting her hips slightly.

Breathing out heavily in pleasure as her clit was slightly rubbing against her wife's, Skye wrapped her arms around Mary and drew her to her for a kiss. While they began to make love she could feel the last of her anxiety from her nightmare disappearing, focusing on her wife and their pleasure completely.

Feeling something moving against him, Castle's eyes opened and he turned to his right. Seeing his wife was the one making the motion with a look of distress on her face, he sat up quickly and said, "Kate? Kate wake up," gently shaking her. He could just see her eyes opening a second later and he said, "You're okay."

"Now I am," Beckett replied after realizing what had happened. She felt her husband gently brushing her hair away from her face and she pushed herself up asking, "Turn on the light?"

"Sure," Castle said quickly. He slipped on his glasses once the light on his nightstand was on and said, "Do you want to talk about it?"

"I'm going to have to," Beckett said, rubbing at her arms. She wasn't surprised when he was wrapping his arms around her and she said, "I get the feeling you'd insist."

"I am," Castle said, kissing her temple gently.

Sighing Beckett said, "I was in the hallway of the manor; upstairs."

"Not the basement?" Castle asked in surprise.

"Let me finish," Beckett replied easily. She wasn't surprised when her husband murmured a sorry and she hugged him briefly before she said, "I got to the end, right before the stairs and I went through the wall."

"Through," Castle couldn't help saying. He wasn't surprised when his wife was nodding before he said, "That was it?"

Smiling briefly at how hopeful her husband's tone of voice had been, Beckett then became serious again and shook her head before she said, "I was falling, and for a while."

"I woke you up before then?" Castle asked. At her nod he hugged her a little tighter and said, "Wait, the basement?"

"That's where I knew I was going to end up falling," Beckett replied. She wasn't surprised when he was kissing the side of her head and said, "It wasn't so much how the hall looked though, more that I had the sensation that something was wrong."

"Do you think it was how Anais was feeling?" Castle inquired, pulling back to look at her. He wasn't surprised when she shrugged and he leaned down to brush his lips to hers quickly before he said, "Do you think you can sleep now?"

Hesitating for a moment, Beckett said carefully, "I don't want to really."

"Okay," Castle said. "Read?"

"Alright," Beckett said before she watched him moving to get off the bed. "Rick, wait." When he paused and turned back to her she said, "We should just sleep."

Looking at the clock on the nightstand he was standing by, Castle said, "It's almost six."

Leaning over, Beckett saw he was right and said, "We…"

"You can't sleep," Castle said, not surprised at her hesitation.

"I don't know if I want to," Beckett told him seriously.

Moving to get back on the bed next to her Castle said, "You're tired though."

"If you are then you can sleep," Beckett told him simply.

Shaking his head Castle said, "I'm not going to let you…" Trailing off he shook his head and said, "I should have held onto your hand earlier."

Smiling, Beckett told him, "I would have likely let go." She was a little startled when he suddenly turned to her, a serious expression on his face and said, "I really-"

"I wanted to say that you were acting really weird last night… this morning," Castle said, correcting himself.

"I know," Beckett said. "I was telling myself not to but that didn't work."

"I think Anais saw her opportunity for her body to be found," Castle said.

Smiling briefly, Beckett said, "And the vic's."

"Yeah," Castle said. He glanced out of the windows in front of their bed and said, "Are you sure you're not going to be able to sleep?"

"I am," Beckett said, moving to get off the bed. "So you can sleep."

"No," Castle said, reaching out to her swiftly and taking her wrist. He was gentle in that since he was making her move back to him so he could wrap his arms around her. Though he wasn't sure how she would react, he couldn't help himself and kissed her tenderly. Feeling her responding he felt immensely relieved and held her a little tighter before they were slowly pulling apart.

"Rick," Beckett began before she paused for a moment. "Do you think-"

"Yes," Castle said instantly.

Smiling in response to how fast he'd spoken, Beckett said, "Pervert."

"Hopefully that doesn't mean you changed your mind," Castle commented before he was capturing his wife's lips with his own. He felt her responding again but that time she was sliding her hands underneath the shirt he'd worn to bed. The feel of her touch made him groan and he was quick to stop both her and their kiss. Before she could protest he was carefully reaching for the bottom of her NYPD shirt, pulling it off of her. He kissed her tenderly before they were undressing each other in turn and as soon as they were naked he helped her lay back. "Kate," he said seriously while he gazed into her eyes.

Recalling something suddenly, Beckett said, "The door-"

"It's locked," Castle reassured her. He brushed his lips to hers and said, "I thought you might have a nightmare. I was hoping you wouldn't but…"

Beckett drew her husband to her and they were kissing again before she murmured against his lips, "It's alright, you can't really control those."

"Boy I wish I could," Castle said exaggeratedly, wanting to make her laugh or at the very least smile. When she was doing the former he felt a rush go through him and he kissed her again, doing his best not to do so too hard before he carefully pulled away. "Goddess," he breathed against her lips before he leaned down a little and kissed at her neck and collarbone.

Beckett wrapped her arms around his shoulders at the sensations he was producing inside her before he was moving to her breasts. When his lips brushed against her right mound her eyes nearly rolled back fully before she was making him stop just before he was responding in slight annoyance.

"You're-" Castle began.

Beckett pulled him to her lips for a kiss and was relieved when he was quick to respond. Their tongues were rolling around each other at first when she slipped hers into his mouth, but he soon after instigated a duel and she was fighting against him slightly before they had to breathe. "I… as much as I want to start," she said, panting a little. "I'm not as ready as you are."

"Too much?" Castle asked after hesitating for a moment, considering what she had said. At her nod he leaned down and brushed his lips to hers before he said, "Now?"

Unable to help laughing, Beckett nodded and took his kiss which was harder but swifter, not surprised when he moved down to her breasts. But the smile on her face soon after faded when she could feel him kissing around her mounds. When his mouth began to suckle at her nipples in turn she found herself shifting and she moved to wrap her legs around her husband. He pulled back a little after she had done that and she nodded to his questioning look. Taking his kiss she could feel him moving around above her until he pulled back from her lips to speak.

"Help me love," Castle said. He was pleased when she immediately let him go with her right hand and he took it as soon as he saw it. Kissing the palm he let her go to allow her to take his length in hand, making him groan a little in pleasure at the sudden shock of her touch. But he recovered quickly and they worked together so he could enter her, her legs and arms tightening around him as soon as he was enough inside her. Pressing a little firmly, he kept his eyes on his wife's face, enjoying the expression that was on it until their hips were firmly pressed together. "Am I getting any say in this?" he asked her.

"I think you need to," Beckett said with a brief smile. "Especially since I'm in the position I'm in right now," not surprised when he brushed her lips with his own before he spoke.

"I could change it," Castle replied. He wasn't that surprised when she shook her head and he kissed her gently while he began thrusting at the same time. Feeling the way she was gripping at his back in response he could feel an added rush of pleasure before he was moving away from her lips. "Kate…" he murmured, looking down at her and feeling another surge of joy in the expression on her face. He couldn't resist and he bowed his head, kissing at her breasts the best he could and hearing his wife's moans shortly after.

"Rick you're…" Beckett started to say before her husband was moving to kiss her on the lips. Though she'd wanted to finish, she didn't mind that being the interruption and she slid her fingers over his neck and to his hair. When she lightly scraped at his scalp she wasn't surprised when he slammed against her a little harder and they were both groaning in response before he pulled away enough to look into her eyes. "Do you… want me t-to stop?" she managed to ask him.

"No," Castle groaned before he was changing the angle of his hips. His next thrust into her he was delighting in her groan since he was brushing against her clit at the same time. That made him suddenly think of differing his pace and as he was sliding back slowly he felt her nails digging into his back.

"Rick, you… can't…" Beckett tried to say but he was moving faster to slide back inside of her and she tried to speak again but found she was unable to. Her husband was kissing her shortly after and she was responding to him hungrily before they were losing themselves in their rhythm. She did her best to move with him and was just able to manage it until she realized she was edging closer to her peak. She had no idea how long her husband had been moving within her, but she couldn't hold off her orgasm. Crying out her husband's name, her back was arched slightly in her ecstasy and she clung to Castle as hard as she could before she felt him joining her.

Calling his wife's name a few times, Castle soon moved to bury his face into her neck since the pleasure became too much for him to continue to speak. When he was still he realized she was too and he raised his head saying, "Better?"

"Yeah," Beckett said, groaning as he was withdrawing from her. She squeezed his shoulders at the way he'd moved so slowly and then said, "Should we get up?"

"Not yet," Castle said, groaning exaggeratedly when he was laying back. He wasn't surprised when she moved immediately to lay against his side and said, "We have time."

"We do," Beckett said before she was yawning.

"Maybe we should sleep," Castle told her since he was watching her.

Shaking her head Beckett said, "We do have to go to the station."

"With the little amount of sleep we got?" Castle replied. He wasn't surprised when she hesitated and he pressed his lips to her temple saying, "Just for a little."

"Alright," Beckett said, watching him take off his glasses and turn off the light on his nightstand. When he was laying down fully again she settled against his side and pressed a swift kiss against his cheek saying, "I love you Rick."

"Love you too Kate," Castle said. He leaned down slightly and took her lips in a gentle kiss before they were parting. "Get some sleep love," he then told her gently.

"You too," Beckett said, not surprised when her husband was giving her a swift kiss. They were shortly after closing their eyes and though she wasn't expecting it, she was shortly after falling asleep. She was relieved to soon find herself dreaming about herself and her husband in their intimacy while the thirty-first dawned outside their home.
