"Welcome back everyone to the second half of this match. When we last left off Ash was in the lead with four Pokemon remaining in comparison to Hugh's three, as a result Ash will be starting this half of the match." Don George explained.
"Where is Rosa? She should be back by now." Elliot asked rhetorically looking around.
Elsewhere in the stadium
"Ash and Elliot were right about drinking that much water." Rosa sighed, walking back towards the arena when she saw two Team Plasma grunts, causing her to quickly duck into a side hall.
"Lord Ghetsis what are your orders?" The first asked.
"Prepare for our arrival." Ghetsis said.
"But sir, our king still has a chance of winning, he is in the final two." The second grunt said.
"Whether he wins or loses is of no concern to our plans." Ghetsis said. "As long as one of the dragons is out in the final match I could care less about this tournament."
"Yes Lord Ghetsis we will let the others know of the plan." The first grunt said.
"Oh no, I have to let Ash know what's happening." Rosa said, sneaking off once the coast was clear.
Back at the arena
"Larvesta I choose you!" Ash called out.
"Unfezant come on out!" Hugh exclaimed.
"Larvesta use Ember!"
"Unfezant use Aerial Ace!"
Unfezant dove across the battlefield, heading straight for Larvesta as the bug fired off a flurry of embers at the oncoming bird before being struck into the air.
"Larvesta use String Shot!"
"Unfezant circle back around with U Turn!"
Unfezant flew in circles, sending Larvesta on the wild ride with them before finally striking the bug and switching out for Simipour.
"Larvesta are you alright?" Ash asked, looking at the dazed bug.
"Laaar." Larvesta said, trying to shake off his dizziness.
"Simipour don't give them a chance to recover, use Rock Slide!"
Simipour slammed their hands on the ground, sending a series of rocks tumbling towards Larvesta, knocking the bug type out of the match.
"Larvesta is unable to battle, the winner is Simipour!" Don George declared.
"Great work Larvesta, take a long rest." Ash said. "Now come on out Deino! Use Bite!"
"Simipour use Surf!"
Simipour summoned a wave of water, sending it crashing down towards Deino as the small dragon pushed onward, biting down on the water types tail and refusing to let go.
"Simipour use Focus Blast!"
"Deino use Slam!"
Deino flung his head back and forth, slamming Simipour on the ground both times, keeping the water type from firing it's focus blast.
"Simipour use Acrobatics!"
"Use Slam again!"
Deino attempted to slam Simipour on the ground a third time, only for Simipour to use the momentum to his advantage, returning the favor and freeing himself from Deino's grip.
"Now Simipour use Focus Blast!"
"Use Dragon Breath!"
Deino let loose a blue flame from his mouth, pushing back against Simipour's focus blast for a bit before it eventually pushed through, striking Deino and sending him tumbling backwards.
"Oh no, I hope Deino is okay." Rosa said, finally returning to the seats.
"Where have you been?" Elliot asked.
"I got a bit sidetracked, and need to tell Ash some things once the match is done." Rosa admitted.
"Is everything alright?" Stephan asked.
"Honestly, I'm not sure anymore, but for now yes." Rosa admitted.
"Deino use Dragon Breath!"
"Simipour use Surf!"
Simipour let out another wave of water, crashing down on Deino, waterlogging the poor dragon.
"Deino is unable to battle, the winner is Simipour!" Don George declared.
"Deino might be strong, but he and Ash just don't have the time together to make it work." Elliot said, noting this was the dragons second loss.
"I'm sure they'll get better with time, it's not Deino's fault these are the finals." Rosa pointed out.
"Semifinals." Stephan reminded.
"Right, semi-finals." Rosa corrected herself.
"Alright, enough fooling around, Pikachu let's do this! Use Thunderbolt!"
Pikachu ran onto the battlefield, flipping into the air, sending out a bolt of electricity, firing it straight at Simipour, striking the water type.
"Simipour use Surf!"
"Pikachu use Quick Attack!"
Pikachu sped across the arena, dodging the tidal wave that came crashing towards him.
"Pikachu use Charge Beam!"
"Simipour use Acrobatics!"
Simipour leapt and flipped only to be struck by Pikachu's electrical beam attack, knocking him onto his back.
"Now Pikachu use Iron Tail!" Ash called out.
Pikachu leapt at the Simipour as the water type pushed himself up, only to be knocked back down and out instantly.
"Simipour is unable to battle, the winner is Pikachu!" Don George declared.
"Simipour you tied up the match, great work, now return!" Hugh declared. "Now come on out Emboar!"
"Pikachu switch out, it's your turn Dewott! Ash called out. "Use Razor Shell!"
"Emboar use Head Smash!"
Emboar rushed forward, mostly ignoring both of the scalchops striking him as he slammed into Dewott, sending the water type tumbling backwards.
"Dewott use Revenge!"
Dewott flipped over Emboar, slamming his tail down on the fire types back for decent damage.
"Emboar use Fire Blast!"
Dewott turned around only to be engulfed by flames, causing him to falter ever so slightly.
"Dewott!" Ash exclaimed.
"Dew!" Dewott said, pushing himself back up, rushing towards and grabbing his scalchops.
"Alright use Razor Shell!" Ash called out.
Dewott launched both of his scalchops at Emboar, striking and knocking the fire type off balance.
"Emboar use Scald!"
Emboar recovered, sending out a blast of burning water from his snout towards Dewott, pushing the water type back.
"Dewott use Revenge!"
Dewott rushed forward, slamming his tail into the side of Emboar as he grabbed his scalchops again.
"Come on Dewott, we need you to give your all." Rosa pleaded.
"His all might not be enough, even with type advantage Emboar has an advantage simply from being fully evolved." Stephan commented.
"So even with type advantage Ash might not be able to win?" Rosa asked.
"With Ash's history, anything is possible, even overcoming the odds against him." Elliot commented.
"Emboar use Hammer Arm!"
"Dewott use Revenge!" Ash called out.
Dewott blocked Emboar's arm slamming down on him with his two scalchops, digging him into the ground of the arena.
"Come on Dewott, after everything you've done, you can't loose like this!" Ash called out. "You beat the odds by surviving the sea and breaking free of your Pokeball, and then you beat the odds again by evolving all on your own, and then holding off against both Servine and Pignite, now beat the odds one more time and beat Emboar!"
"Dew. OTT!" Dewott exclaimed, leaping upwards, breaking free of the pressure of Emboars arm, and sending the boar onto his back.
"Was that revenge?" Elliot asked in shock at the power.
"No, that was Return." Rosa said with a smile. "Ash and Dewott are finally in full sync with each other."
"Dewott use Razor Shell!" Ash called out.
Dewott leapt into the air, slicing his scalchops down on Emboar with speed and precision.
"Emboar is unable to battle, the winner is Dewott!" Don George declared.
"You might have beaten Emboar, but we're not done yet!" Hugh said smugly.
"End this like it began. Dewott this is Pikachu's fight." Ash said, the electric type running back out as Dewott stood next to his trainer.
"Unfezant let's go!" Hugh called out.
"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"
"Unfezant use Giga Impact!"
Unfezant dove right at Pikachu, the electric type being struck and tumbling back before skidding to a stop on all fours before firing off a bolt of electricity at the temporarily stunned flying type.
"Pikachu use Charge Beam!"
Pikachu lined up his shot and firing a beam of electrical energy at the still recovering Unfezant, creating more static around the electric mouse.
"Unfezant use Aerial Ace!"
"Pikachu use Quick Attack!"
Pikachu and Unfezant raced across the arena, striking and bouncing off of each other.
"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!" Ash called out.
"Unfezant dodge it!"
Unfezant took to the air, flying off as Pikachu sent out a bolt of electricity, charged by the Charge Beams, striking through the bird Pokemon as it plummeted back to the ground.
"Unfezant is unable to battle, the winner is Ash and Pikachu!" Don George declared.
"Hugh." Ash said, seeing the boy shaking slightly.
"Well one of us had to loose, but I'm glad that out of everyone in this tournament it was at least you that I lost to." Hugh said. "Now don't go loosing tomorrows match."
"Wouldn't dream of it, let's meet up later to discuss our plans." Ash said.
"Sounds good." Hugh said with a smirk. "Team Plasma won't know what him them."
