Lucy didn't know Natsu had a brother. The underworld is full of secrets and usually it was not that hard to learn about someone when you had all the right connections but even with all the digging she had done on the rosy-haired don, she was surprised to hear he was not an only child.
But seeing how a man with jet black hair came out of the sedans parked out front, Lucy was a bit skeptical, eyeing the nervous don who was so out of it, he had dressed themselves in record time. She didn't think anyone or anything could make Natsu seem stressed but seeing how it was his brother of all things, she wondered what could be so wrong with him that he made Natsu act all squirrelly.
"Stay here."
"What? Why?" Lucy furrowed her brows, seeing how Natsu was running his hand through his hair.
"You don't want to be around him or be acquainted with him."
"Don't be silly, he's my brother-in-law."
"I'm serious." Natsu gave her a look to show he wasn't playing around but knowing how this man was, he took everything serious unseriously and so taking his word was a bit hard.
Especially since she's also a bit sexually frustrated and a bit pissed they got interrupted just when they were about to seal the deal.
"I think I can manage." Lucy gave him a tight-lipped smile, patting him on the shoulder before walking out the room.
"Lucy, wait!"
"Catch up or fall behind," she was rummaging through her purse, looking for the pesky little lipstick that always liked to disappear into the abyss of her bags.
"Lucy, seriously." His hand clamped down on her arm and she froze, turning to eye him. "He's not like the others. He's not like me. You have to be careful around him."
Lucy scoffed, jerking his hand off her arm before pulling out the tube of lipstick. "Do you know who I am and what I do for work?" She brought it to her lips, wanting to reapply to look a bit more presentable and not look like she was almost nearly fucked but as soon as the tip came to her lip, Natsu grabbed her wrist once again.
She glared at him, seeing how he was glaring right back at her and she yelped when he yanked her forward.
With his large hands on either side of her head, his mouth was hot on hers once again as he kissed her with such fever. She made a noise from the back of her throat but it was much easier to melt into him when all this sexual tension had been growing since day one.
Her lipstick was discarded somewhere on the floor as she heard the plastic drop but she was too focused on Natsu's mouth on hers as his tongue slid into her open mouth. Her arms came to wrap around his shoulders, holding him close against her own body while she felt one hand slide down her back before grabbing a handful of her behind.
She groaned into his mouth, tangling her fingers in his hair and tugging on it.
Her back bumped against the wall out in the hallway as Natsu spun her around and pushed her, continuing to silence her with his mouth and hands.
"My, my, look what we have here."
Lucy froze in her spot as her lips came apart from Natsu's. Alarm bells were ringing in her head as she could see the cold glare Natsu was holding while he kept her shielded between his body and wall, a small shiver rushed down her spine at the silky smooth voice that came behind her husband.
She tried to push him away but he tensed up, forcing his body to keep her caged and hidden. "Get off," she hissed at him but he ignored her, squeezing her hips as a warning.
"Brother," Natsu spat out over his shoulder. "I didn't realize you were already out of prison."
"Really? You weren't counting down the days like I was?"
Lucy could feel Natsu's anger seeping out of him and as she watched his jaw muscles jump with how hard he was clenching his teeth, she felt hot, sweat pricking at her hairline while she stared at him. Her chest heaved with her breaths and her cheeks felt hot at the close proximity the two had but she was oddly worried about him.
She had never seen him so angry and stressed out like this and she wondered why his brother was such a sensitive topic for him. Clearly the two had not seen each other in a long amount of time and he was in prison for a while but what had to happen for their relationship to be so sour?
Without realizing, Lucy's hand had moved on its own and she didn't even know she was reaching for him till she felt his skin brush against her fingertips.
It surprised the both of them as Natsu whipped his head back to look at her, eyes dancing with confusion yet somewhat glee.
She could feel her face heating up when he looked at her and she quickly retracted her hand, feeling embarrassed while her gaze fell to the ground between them.
"Are you going to introduce me to the woman you're hiding against the wall or continue to be rude?"
Natsu's soft curse under his breath made her feel even more worried. He leaned in, whispering close to her, "try not to get us killed." Before pulling back to have her even more confused and worried.
Finally having the room to see, Lucy turned to see the same wild haired one standing at the foot of the stairs with two men dressed in black right behind him. From this angle, she could see the similarities of the two where he had the same sharp eyes and same nose but Ignia was a bit taller and darker than Natsu was. His build was more lean than muscular and his hair was red, looking like a flame on top of his head.
Straightening the front of her dress, Lucy cleared her throat and offered a small smile, taking a step forward where she was aware Natsu took with her, hovering over her as if he was some kind of pest.
"Lucy Heart—Dragneel." She corrected last minute, a pinched smile coming to her lips while he continued to stare at her. "Natsu and I got married a couple months ago. It's nice to finally meet and be acquainted with my brother-in-law."
"Ah, so this is the wife I have been hearing about," a smile spread across his face. "I'm Ignia, Natsu's brother. It is nice to know that someone as beautiful and fierce as you has joined the family. I hope Natsu hasn't been too much of a bother towards you."
"He one hundred percent has." Lucy smiled right back and she heard the soft growl coming from beside her making her smile even bigger.
"I wasn't aware you were going to be returning here." Natsu's gruff voice echoed and they turned to face the fuming don.
"Of course I would return here. This is the Dragneel-Tartaros main home."
"Well, it's Lucy's and my home, now, so I would be happy to find other accommodations for you, brother."
"Nonsense," Lucy waved him off, making Natsu turn and look at her with a sharp look. "This house is plenty big for the three of us. No reason to send him to another place when he came all this way."
Natsu opened his mouth to retort back but Lucy didn't give him the chance to, turning back to smile at the red-haired Dragneel. "Please, Natsu was just getting the house ready. Settle down and we can chat some more during dinner."
"Lucy—" she heard Natsu growl beside her but she ignored him, continuing to keep her eyes on Ignia.
Without caring about his own brother, Ignia just stared at Lucy before a wicked smile spread across his lips and he nodded.
"Sounds great, Lucy. Thank you for being so kind unlike my brother here," his eyes darted over to her husband before looking back at her. "I shall meet you two for dinner."
Once Ignia had brushed past the two and left, Natsu turned to face his wife, glaring at her and looking almost scary in her eyes. She had never seen Natsu look so angry and never at her so it piqued her interest enough to where she stared at him, eyebrows raised.
"I hope you're happy," he spat out, the clench of his jaw making his muscles pop. "You just signed a death wish."
Seeing how Natsu spun on his heel and disappeared down the hall, Lucy could only wonder if she truly did or not.
Truthfully, Lucy felt a bit bad about going behind Natsu's back and inviting his brother to stay with them. She was sure Natsu and Ignia didn't have the best relationship considering how Natsu acted. She wasn't even sure if it was something worth mentioning since Natsu was so pissed off she had yet to see him again.
She pretended as if it didn't bother her but it really did. How could her husband treat her this way? Right before they actually did it, too? She was feeling a bit bad and used so she spent the rest of the day trying to track her husband down but no matter what, he had disappeared.
Which wasn't the smartest since his brother was still at the house but seeing how no cars had left, Natsu had to be at the property.
It gave her a chance to tour the place on her own and she was pleased to see all her belongings this time around made it to the estate. The home itself was large and polished but lacked decor or personality. The grounds were highly surveillanced so nobody could get in or out without detection. And the place was nice enough that she did not mind it, especially the noise since that was always what kept her up at night.
The estate wasn't looking too bad and as she stood on the balcony of her own bedroom wrapped in a robe, she was starting to warm up to the place.
Surely she had never dreamt she would be standing in enemy territory like she was currently, she had started to believe that Natsu may not be her enemy anymore.
The land was vast and the grass was trimmed nicely with bright green turf. The gardens needed a little bit of attention but they had plenty of room to grow. Somehow, Lucy even started to imagine little kids running around the yard, screaming for joy and playfully chasing one another. She wondered, what type of life would her kids live considering the line of work she does? Would she want them to join in the family fun? Would she send them off abroad so they could be safe?
The idea of having kids overwhelmed the blonde don, especially since that meant she would have to reproduce with Natsu of all people.
Did he really want her to carry his kids? Why did he want only her to?
Images of them nearly sealing the deal earlier flooded her mind and Lucy scowled at the ground, feeling her cheeks grow hot.
How could he just leave her high and dry like that? Why did Ignia rattle him so much he had grown so uncomfortable and so protective all of a sudden?
What has the Dragneel brother done?
"My lady," a soft knock behind her caught her attention and she turned to see one of the Tartaros men standing at the door. "Dinner is about ready if you would like to head down."
Lucy simply nodded her response before she came back inside to change into her dinner attire.
Who knows if Natsu would be there but if Ignia was, he for sure would be. He didn't even seem to want her to be introduced to such a man, for what reasons, she had none. She thought about digging into Ignia but seeing how he wasn't even linked or traced back to Natsu's seemed odd enough.
She didn't know if it was worth asking about, especially with tensions so high, but she filed it away for a later date.
For now, she had a hot date with not one but two Dragneel men and she was feeling pretty good about herself.
Her heels clicked against the marble flooring with every step. Her incredibly long heels gave her an extra four inches and with her long white dress flowing behind her, Lucy felt like a princess. Her skirt wasn't long nor tight but enough to hug her curves and flow down her legs to her knees. The strapless thing barely held up with the weight of her massive breasts but she made it work, the curls of her golden hair framing her pale face. She strutted down to the dining room where the double doors opened for her to be greeted with a spread of all sorts of dishes.
And the delicious sight of her husband and brother-in-law, sitting at the table and Natsu looking a second away from flinging his steak knife into Ignia's chest.
"Lucy, it's so great of you to join us." Ignia's smile bloomed across his face in a way Natsu's darkened.
"Sorry to keep you two waiting," her eyes flickered over to her husband where she watched his eyes drag down her figure before he leaned back against his seat. His dark eyes were pinned on her figure and she didn't know if he looked pissed or hungry.
Maybe both.
She offered a smile while she took her seat beside her husband, having one of them drag the chair out and then pushing her in. She flicked her napkin off her plate in front of her, dragging the cloth to her lap while ignoring Natsu's burning gaze on the side of her face.
The silence was loud and she was unsure why they were staring at her like that. Natsu always had a staring problem but Ignia's stare made her a bit uncomfortable, especially since he was smiling right at her from across the table.
Her eyes darted over to see Natsu's hands clenched in his lap and other than his jaw muscles jumping from time to time, he looked pretty normal.
Dinner started pretty quickly with dishes being prepared and served. The silence continued to linger as clanks of glass plates and utensils were heard. It wasn't too awkward but the tension was thick, leaving Lucy feeling a bit hot.
"So, dear sister-in-law," Ignia's voice finally cut through the silence, making her pause in her own cutting of her steak. "Natsu tells me you're actually the head don of Fairy Tail."
"Ah, yes, I am," Lucy offered a small smile. "We have come to an agreement and of course sealed the deal with marriage to continue on our success until the future. I was unaware Natsu had a brother."
"Natsu always liked to play pretend," Ignia stated with a smile to his lips, his eyes turning to face his brother who refused to look at him.
Natsu stabbed at his plate a little too hard, the screech of his fork scraping against the surface.
"So what landed you in prison for all these years?"
"I am sure you're well aware of our family business," Lucy nodded while she popped a cherry tomato into her mouth. "Let's just say it may have gotten out of hand."
Natsu scoffed under his breath but that was all he did in response making Lucy frown and glare at him from the corner of her eyes. He seemed to ignore her too, shoving more food into his mouth than anything.
"I must say, I am impressed with how Natsu has won you over. You are obviously not even in the same league as he is."
"Watch it." Natsu hissed from across the table but it only seemed to amuse Ignia from across the table.
"Oh brother, you do not have to be so possessive of your wife. I am simply trying to form a relationship with my dear sister-in-law."
Natsu rolled his eyes while Lucy let out a small huff, trying to catch his eye to silently tell him to stop but he seemed to know what her intentions were since he continued to avoid her eyes.
"You see, Lucy," the blonde turned to face Ignia again as he took a sip from his drink before setting the glass back down. "I have served my time and been locked away for nearly a whole decade… I am, what they say, a changed man." A wicked grin spread across his lips and Natsu scoffed under his breath again. "While this is the life that I was given and I am sure every one of us knows that you cannot just leave the underworld… I am prepared to do what I need to do to help bring success to Tartaros and now, Fairy Tail."
"Oh, well," Lucy felt awkward as she was unsure what to say. "That is.. good to hear? A lot has changed in the last ten years and I do not know what your expectations are, I am sure we can all sit down and figure out ways where you can fit in."
"For being a don at such a young age, I am sure you know a thing or two about success, eh?" Ignia winked at the blonde.
Lucy just offered a smile his way, bringing her napkin to her lips to dab at the corners. "Of course. I would be more than happy to get you up to date on anything."
The rest of dinner went smoother than Lucy thought it would and of course Natsu had disappeared once it was over. He barely said a word to her or even looked at her but if he wanted to play this game then she'll play. She loves to play games and if he thinks she would fold first then he was wrong. Dead wrong.
Ignia obviously didn't seem too bad of a person and who was she to judge if someone was bad or not? They were in the goddamn underworld where rules and morality didn't really matter so whatever Ignia did didn't bother her so much. She may need someone like Ignia actually since he looked pretty ruthless.
Is Natsu for once going to leave her alone, knowing she was in the same place as he was? For some reason, that idea alone disappointed her and while she was full and sated from dinner, she was annoyed her husband was deciding to throw this little child play at her. Why was it that when she finally wanted him like he did, he went and acted like this? Why is it that she wants him so bad?
But it seemed as if Natsu needed some time to recover from this sudden appearance and if that was what he needed to get his shit together then so be it.
She was an adult as much as he was and she had shit to do.
He knew where to find her.
Natsu had a scowl on his face, squinting through the dark tint to see where they were going. His hands continued to run across his hair in a nervous manner but he would never voice or show it, especially since he was in a car with his brother.
He didn't know what the hell Ignia wanted or what he had been doing in the last ten years but he knew it couldn't be good.
While Ignia continued to have contact with the outside world during his sentence (which was the dumbest idea ever), Natsu didn't really stay in contact. Unless it was knowing about what he was doing, he didn't care. Especially since he continued to push capital into their accounts, Ignia was doing him a deed behind bars. A double deed since his ass was arrested and forced to stay behind bars.
And now that Ignia, his older brother and a menace to society, was back in town, Natsu had to make sure to watch over both his shoulders, now.
"How much longer?" Natsu hissed at his brother who just calmly sat in his seat across from him.
"I can see you are still impatient as always."
"I've had a long day and I didn't think you would drag me out of the house at eight o'clock at night."
"Who cares what time it is?" He shrugged nonchalantly. "Is it because of Lucy?"
"Keep her name out of your mouth," he spat, glaring at the smiling man.
"Oho, Natsu, I didn't know you could have such a side to you."
"Shut the fuck up," the rosy-haired one clicked his tongue in disapproval, twisting his head to stare at the dark tint. "Now, where the fuck are we going?"
"We'll be there soon enough. Patience, Natsu. Isn't that what dad always told us?"
Natsu clenched his teeth and his fists, feeling the tension and muscles jump in his body. He just wanted to lunge over and strangle this man who talked about his father so nonchalantly. If it wasn't for him, if it wasn't for his stupidity and his arrogance, maybe their father would have still been here.
Deciding it was best to keep his mouth shut and not result in a bloody war, Natsu remained silent for the entire car ride. He didn't know where he was going but he just hoped he was home before midnight.
He had yet to speak to Lucy since they got into it this morning and he was hoping he could just get this shit over with and talk to her. If she just understood his worries and caution, maybe she would be on his side rather than being such a brat and trying to go against him on everything. He couldn't lie though, it was hot as fuck and just the thought of almost taking her in his office this morning made his dick hard.
He's had such a thing for the Heartfillia don that it hurt him more than she knew, keeping his balls so blue and his imagination running so wild.
But this time around, he cursed Ignia for being such a terrible cockblock because once he got home, he was sure he was going to make Lucy scream all night long till Ignia had enough.
He was already looking into different accommodations, anyway. It wouldn't hurt to give Ignia a little bit of a push out the door.
By the time the car had come to a halt, Natsu was rock solid and he was nearly groaning out in pain. That blonde bimbo had not left his mind and she was not making anything easy for him.
Filing out of the blacked out sedan, Natsu glared up at a warehouse that had on dingy dim light on the very top of the roof. The building itself was an older one, sitting in the middle of nowhere with nothing but pitch black for miles. It was secluded and he faintly remembered coming here when he was much younger but nothing more than that.
"What are we doing here?"
"I know that I just came home today but I wanted to show you my operations. This is one of the warehouses I used while I was behind bars to exchange information and items. I also just got a huge delivery of cocaine from the south and since you are more aware of what is going on right now, I would like to see what your thoughts are on how to distribute."
Natsu eyed Ignia as he walked towards the warehouse, seeing how the two men that came with them lingered by the car. He watched him punch in numbers on the lock before unlocking the door, yanking the door open where dust and dirt began to swirl around in a pile.
Ignia turned to face him, offering him a grin. "Coming, brother?"
Watching him disappear into the place, Natsu cursed under his breath before he followed him inside. Their men remained outside, keeping guard, but it didn't matter too much anyway since he had a gun on him and he was trained in combat.
The warehouse was dark and dusty, making Natsu cough and wave his hand out in front of him. The light soon turned on, illuminating the inside of the place just enough for him to see it looked like any normal warehouse. With all sorts of equipment that looked abandoned, they were all parked on the corners of the place with cobwebs and dirt scattered all over them. Cargo boxes with regular cardboard ones piled away with all sorts of wooden crates stood by.
Natsu cocked his head to the side, staring at them before he heard his brother call for him. Following the sound of his voice, Natsu came behind the crates and walked down a very dim and narrow corridor in the back.
"Ignia?" He called out, finding a set of stairs towards the end of the corridor for him to go down the creaky steps.
"Down here!"
Letting out a huff, Natsu stomped down the stairs, watching his head as the ceiling began to fall down lower. He waved away all the dust and cobwebs that would stick to him and as he cursed while he fought off the annoying noise, he came down to the cellar where there was nothing but cement floor, a tool table, chairs, and darkness surrounding the space.
"Ignia?" The rosy-haired don called out, squinting against the air. "Where—?"
A loud clunk and what felt like a thousand needles piercing through his skull shot through his body till black began to surround his vision, forcing him to lose consciousness.
The blurry sight of a black figure standing over him was the last thing he saw.
The next time he gained consciousness, Natsu woke up with a gasp, inhaling deeply where pain shot through his chest and down to his gut. He tried to reach for his chest but when he felt his hands being held back, he twisted in his spot to realize he had been tied up. His vision was still hazy, leaving him squinting and panting through the pain and as he tried to take in his surroundings, the familiar smell of copper and musk filled his nostrils.
"Ignia..!" He rasped out, calling out for his brother. "What the fuck…" He hacked out, coughing up slightly where he spat out a mixture of blood, dirt, and spit.
His head was pounding and his chest felt tight, his eyes slowly coming back into focus where he stared down at his tied up feet against the wooden legs of his chair. His hands were tied behind his back, tight and truthfully a bit painfully, but it didn't compare to the pulse he felt on his skull.
He let out a low groan, turning his head to blink up at the single dusty light bulb that was barely visible above his head.
"Ignia!" His voice rose, remembering that his brother was the reason why he was here. "Where are you?!"
Loud clunks and metal scraping was heard before a large cellar door opened and three figures approached. Natsu grimaced at the light coming in, feeling hazy and dehydrated as he stared.
Clenching his teeth to help with the pain and also the fact that he was beyond pissed that he had been caught in one of his stupid traps, Natsu could only glare at the smirking face of his brother who approached him so casually. As if he wasn't tied up to a chair and Most likely bleeding.
"What is the meaning of this, Ignia? Do you realize I can get you killed?!" Natsu roared, trying to rip out of his bindings but only making him bounce around. "Untie me right now!" He barked but when the two men beside Ignia didn't move but stood there staring blankly, he began to grow even angrier.
Natsu turned his attention to the red-haired one, baring his teeth and shooting him his most menacing sneer. "I fucking knew you weren't trustworthy from the start. How low could you get? Sneaking your baby brother away and having to come up from behind and whack him?"
All the air nearly escaped from his lungs when Ignia suddenly kicked him in the chest, forcing him to choke and take the hit.
"Baby brother?" Ignia laughed, his foot still planted on the chest of the don. "We don't even share the same blood so how could we be brothers?"
Natsu scowled at him, gritting his teeth. "Don't pull that bullshit, again."
"No, you stop pulling that bullshit," Ignia's smirk slipped from his lips to turn into a sneer. "To think scum like you who don't even carry the blood of the Dragneel's claim the throne and act as if this is his empire… you are not worthy of such a title! That should have been mine! I should have been the one to take the throne, not you!"
Natsu laughed out loud making Ignia reel back and glare at him. "This shit, again? Really? I would tell you to take it up with dad but someone fucking killed him!"
Blood poured out of his split lip as Ignia socked him in the jaw. The feel of his fist landing against his cheek hurt and pain shot down his body but Nastu merely gritted his teeth and spat out the blood that began to fill his mouth.
"So, what? This was your generous plan? Kidnap me, kill me, and then take over the throne?"
"And let you go scott free?" Ignia scoffed as he twirled his fist in a circle. "No fucking chance. You deserve to rot away and be forgotten. Not like anyone will miss you, I don't even think that wife of yours likes you that much anyways. I'm sure she would be happy to know you skipped town on her."
At the mention of his wife, Natsu's eyes darkened and he bared his teeth at his smirking brother. Watching him from the corners of his eyes, he followed his figure, seeing how Ignia was circling him like a predator. He let out a hiss when he felt Ignia grab at his hair and yank his head back, hot searing pain washing over him and down his back.
"If I killed you now, it would be such a waste. I want you to know what it's like to stare at the same four walls, locked in the same old dusty place, and just rot away but you want to know what the difference is?" Ignia snickered in his ear, yanking on his hair harder. "I got released. I'm free. You? You won't. You'll just perish away here, forgotten about and slowly going crazy… you'll start to hallucinate after a week of no food or water and by the second you'll want to blow your own brains out. You'll be begging me to kill you but guess what? I won't."
Natsu felt as if a bucket of ice water was thrown on him, his entire body growing rigid. The reality of what was happening was hitting him and he didn't know what he was going to do. Ignia really was going to leave him here to die. To rot away and serve a sentence he didn't deserve.
His heart was pounding behind his chest and Natsu fought against the restraints while the laughter of his brother tinkered in his ear. He cried out when Ignia yanked his head back to punch him in the face again, tossing his head to the side.
"I waited for this day the moment I was put away! I dreamt about returning the favor, Natsu! And it never tasted sweeter!" He was cackling while throwing punch after punch. "Once you die and end up seeing dad in hell," he grabbed the front of his shirt, holding him up. "Tell him how much I fucking hate him."
And then everything went black.
