Sitting at Bobbin's Basket's sundae bar, Jaune was staring at bottom of his fifth empty glass of a Hot Fudge Malt. From a vintage 1951 Victrola full of discs was track B24 playing 'Walking The Floor' by ET.
"You left me, and you went away
You said that you'd be back in just a day
You've broken your promise, and you've left me here alone
I don't know why you did, dear, but I do know that you're gone," great the first verse again.
"I'm walking the floor over you
I can't sleep a wink, that is true
I'm hoping and I'm praying as my heart breaks right in two
Walking the floor over you," what's the purpose of this again.
Great that guitar solo again.
"Aw, pick it out, Smitty!"
"Recovering from a heartache?" brought his attention onto Winston sitting beside him.
"Can't have a heartache if no girl wants you," replied Jaune.
"Then who's the girl ignoring you?" asked Winston studying the five empty glasses
"Weiss," stirring his sixth Hot Fudge Malt, "besides how did you know I'm being ignored?"
Motioning towards the Victrola, "Only a man with a heartache over a girl would be listening to that song."
"It must be on a loop. It's been playing since I've been here sitting trying to keep from thinking about going after boys."
"Why?"
"I've got seven sisters. My parents' chances of getting grandkids are good."
"Are any of them into guys that treat them right?"
"Crap, they are into women being better companions then men."
"Seems continuing the Arc bloodline falls on your shoulders."
"The lien I spent hasn't helped me to know if Weiss wants me."
"Does she seem a million miles away when she walks by you and you don't know what to say? That's when you got to make a move and you better make it now" holding up his right fist "Don't be afraid, cause love will show you how," holding up his index finger, "First step: Ask her out and treat her like a lady," holding up his middle finger, "Second step: Tell her she's the one you're dreaming of," holding up his third finger, "Third step: Take her in your arms and never let her go," placing his hand on Jaune's shoulder, "If you don't know by now step by step you'll win her love."
"Did this work with your girlfriend?"
Bringing his eyebrows up in confusion, "My girlfriend?"
"That blonde that motorboated me."
"My team leader."
"She's your team leader? I thought she was into open relationship."
"Only if she gets her attention."
"Like how she places your hands…"
"She's an impulsive woman besides does Pyrrha let you place your hands on her body?"
"She's not my type."
"Then what's your type?"
"Ahmmmm."
Staring at the soda jerk, "Like a root beer float while his brain thaws from brain freeze."
Ringing of the bell brought Jaune's attention towards the entrance causing him to pull the hood over his head. Noticing Jaune trying to withdraw under his black hood, Winston turned towards his head front of the store and noticed Team CRDL trying to look cool and heading towards them.
Slapping Jaune's back, "Look's like my buddy is buying," remarked Cardin.
"Not tonight," said Winston bringing Cardin's attention onto him.
"Can I ask why?"
Stirring his float, "You can ask," finishing his float in one gulp, "He's going with me to The Blue Oyster Cult," getting up.
"And what's at this Blue Oyster Cult?"
"Time of one's life," grabbing Jaune's arm, "and all you have to do is walk down this alleyway on Howell Street until you come to a The Blue Oyster Cult in blue neon encircled by a red oval and step through the door under the sign," dragging Jaune towards the exit.
Outside the ice cream shoppe, Winston released his grip on Jaune's arm.
Rubbing his arm, "Thanks," pulling back his hoodie, "So are we going to this Blue Oyster Cult?"
"No. I'm taking back you to the hostel until your team arrives."
At Follicu Laire, a restaurant in which tea, coffee, cakes and sandwiches are served along with topics, cooking and eating, Blake filled up her tray with dirty dishes. Wiping the table clean, she lifted up the tray.
Carrying the tray towards the trash dispenser, "Nice letting her cat ears breathe once in a while," thought Blake scrapping cake into the trash dispenser.
Arranging the plates for the jet of hot water to spray the remaining icing off, she placed the silverware with the handles down into the silverware holders. Placing the tray onto the conveyer belt for the dishwasher, her ears caught, "Guess, who just grace us with her presence?"
"Who?" asked some of the faunus waitresses.
"The Dust Princess herself."
"Let's give her a proper faunus welcome."
Thunderous clapping brought eyeballs onto a group of clapping waitresses marching from the backroom.
Surrounding Weiss and Ying's table, "We're so happy for the heir apparent of tyrants, land barons to grace our abode," they sung.
"Even though we aren't welcome at her abode.
She graced our abode.
Since we aren't welcome
She's not welcome
Now leave."
The clapping stopped. With their arms crossed, they stared at Weiss.
Studying the circle faunus waitresses, "I like to order," said Weiss gripping her menu.
Like judges, they stared at her.
Tapping the fingers of her left hand, "Like to see your manager."
Stepping from behind the 'Only Staff Past This Door' sign, the manager stepped between two waitresses.
"Yes."
"Like to lodge a complaint about your waitresses being disruptive."
"Only disruption I see is you."
"And how am I a disruption?"
"By being sitting at this table."
Looking at the other customers, "There's humans being served here."
"We prefer them over you," remarked the manager.
Squirting her eyes, Weiss stood up and walked out with Ying.
