Chapter 1

You wake up as the doorbell rings, groaning as you get out of bed. You reach towards the door and lightly fumble down the stairs. The doorbell rings again just before you open it. Rolling your eyes, you open it and find your friend Alyssa standing there with candy. She doesn't wait for an invite and barges in. She kicks the door closed behind her and drags you into the kitchen, where she lays out the feast of sugary treats. It was your birthday, but as always, your parents couldn't care less and had gone out for some time alone. She sighs before saying, "We need a party." You begin to shake your head but her phone is already in her hand. You groan, "My parents would kill me." With a pleading look.

"Alright then. But I'm taking you to lunch." You smile brightly as you write out a note for your parents, explaining who you're with and slightly calling them out for being assholes on your birthday. You each grab a pack of candy and head for Alyssa's car. You get in the passenger seat and soon you two are in front of a fast food place. She grabs your hand as you walk inside and make your order, then finds a place to sit. You yawn, you didn't get much sleep and passed out in the early hours of the morning. You unwrap a piece of chocolate as the workers bring you your food. You grab it and take a bite, pleased that you won't be alone on your birthday after all.

You two finish your food and drive back to your house, your parent's car is in the driveway. You and Alyssa look at each other and race to the door. Even though your parents didn't pay much attention to you, they didn't want you leaving the house. They were waiting and the moment you stepped inside, your face was met with a slap. You back up slightly to get away and look at your mom. "Where the hell have you been?!", she said angrily "We were worried sick!" You went silent for a moment as Alyssa said, "You two weren't doing anything other than leaving her alone so I took her to lunch." Your mom glared at her. Alyssa crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow.

"M-maybe you should go..." You look at Alyssa apologetically as she nods slightly. She turned around and closed the door, and you heard her footsteps leave the front porch. "Go to your room, don't leave it for any reason." You paid no attention to her as you walked up the stairs and locked your door. You plop on your bed and sigh, hugging your pillow. Alyssa was the only true friend you had, but you parents wouldn't let you hang out with her. This feeling is terrible, you want it to go away. You throw the pillow to the side and grab your notebook, hoping to draw and pass the time.

Chapter 2

You didn't realize How long you had been drawing until you felt hungry. You looked at the time, 10 pm already. You looked through a drawer and couldn't find any food. Guess you would have to sneak out tonight, no way you were going to starve. The house was quiet and as you walked to the closet for a jacket and some shoes, the floor creaked softly. You slipped the clothes on and crept to the window. There was a tree you could climb for a better landing than just jumping. The rough branches of the tree hit your hands as you jump out the window and grip the tree. You scale down towards the ground and let go.

Your feet hit the ground hard as you run away from your house to avoid being caught sooner. You slow as you come towards a convenience store and walk inside. The cashier smiles at you as you walk by. You grab a few protein bars and some water, walking to the front of the store. You pay and she says the normal 'Have a good night'. You nod back and continue walking out the front doors. You sit on a step near the back of the store and eat a little of what you bought. You hope Alyssa isn't scared off by how your parents act, you couldn't bear to lose her. You see someone out of the corner of your eye, and ignore them until they walk closer.

You stand up and the figure grabs your arm, pulling you into the darkness. You look under his hood with the little streetlight available and see he has a huge smile cut across his face, blood dripping down his cheeks. ou back up as he pulls a knife from his hoodie pocket. He grabs your arm and tries to push you towards a wall but you spin him around onto the ground. He groans and grabs your ankle, making you stumble. He raises the knife and quickly brings it down into your shoulder. He pulls it out and runs away. Coward. Blood leaks from your shoulder as you shakily get up.

You hold onto the brick wall as you push yourself up from the ground. You hold the wound with your other hand and walk a few steps. You're already light-headed and your vision is blurry. You mumble as you take small steps towards the store. Luckily, the cashier is closing up and sees you. She rushes to your side and pulls out her phone, calling the police. You listen to her talking as you see the figure watching from around the corner, he puts his finger over his mouth, almost as if signaling you to stay quiet. You allow your head to roll over to the side, too tired to pay more attention to the boy. The last thing you saw before passing out was flashing lights, and the mysterious boy running off into the distance.

Chapter 3

You wake up, bright lights shining into your eyes. You squint, looking to the side where your friend Alyssa is sitting in a chair, sleeping. You hear footsteps outside the door and a nurse walks in, and when she sees you awake, smiles at you. You roll your head to face the left of the room, taking in your surroundings. You had a pounding headache and didn't quite remember what happened last night. That boy... who was he? You didn't have the energy yet to figure it out, but as soon as you did, you would figure it out. The nurse walks over to you and checks your shoulder, it hurt but you didn't say anything to her. "You'll be able to leave soon, your parents are on the way."

Damn it. Your parents, how could you have forgotten? They wouldn't be happy to find out you snuck out, but they couldn't blame you. They wouldn't have let you out of your room, and you needed food. How would they react when they find out you had gotten stabbed? You sigh, just as Alyssa wakes up. She jumps up and runs over to you. She grabs your hand and pulls you up out of the hospital bed. "Come on, we need to leave before your parents get here!" She helps you stand as you swing your legs over the side of the bed. You wobble a little bit but manage to take a few steps and slide on your shoes. You grab your jacket and soon, you and Alyssa are out in the hallway of a large hospital.

The nurse sees you two walking to the stairs and tries to stop you from going any farther, You push past and run down the stairs as fast as you can without passing out. You and your friend race out the doors and to her car, narrowly missing the security guards. She starts her car and in no time, you two are in front of your house. "Pack a bag and hurry back out, you're leaving this place!" You jog inside and close the door behind you, skipping up the stairs into your room. You open the closet door and grab an old duffel bag that had been stuffed in the back for who knows how long. You stuff a few pairs of jeans, a t-shirt, and a sweatshirt into it as you close the door.

You make a move for the door but someone is standing in your way. His hood is down this time so you can see his face in all the horror it presents. You both stare at each other, maybe only for the fact he has no eyelids. You take a step towards the door but he holds you back. You push his hand off of you and try to barge past him. He opens the door for you and jumps out the window. You grab your phone charger, hygiene stuff, and extra money. You run down the stairs and into the kitchen, grabbing whatever food is within reach. You swing the duffel bag over your shoulder and walk into the front, where the boy is waiting.

Chapter 4

The boy grabbed your arm. "Don't get in the car with her." His look was stern as you cowered under his harsh grip. "You'll regret it." You shook him off and pushed past him, wondering what he was talking about. You make it to the car and climb in quickly. You gesture for Alyssa to start driving before your parents come home. You leaned your head against the seat and sighed. The boy stood there, knife in hand. Before you turned the corner, you saw him enter your house once more. It wasn't your problem anymore, you were leaving your o controlling parents.

The road has less traffic as the sun goes down. You suggest stopping at a hotel but Alyssa says she has a tent. "It will be fun!" You nod, even though you weren't quite sure how 'fun' laying in the dirt would be. She parks the car somewhere in the forest and you grab the sleeping bags. You turn on your phone, but there's no internet. What if something happened? You turned to find Alyssa but she and the car were gone. You internally curse yourself. Was she planning to just ghost you? You sigh, thankfully you remember the way out. It was getting dark though, you had to take your chances and just sleep here tonight.

You take out your sleeping bag and lay it on the ground you lie down staring up at the night sky questioning what you did to Alyssa to make her leave you in the middle of the forest as a night of sleep overcomes you, your eyes flutter shut falling into a deep peaceful sleep...

Chapter 5

You wake up with a start, unable to remember what you were dreaming about. You look at your surroundings, taking it in, memories of last night flooding back. You left your home and were now stuck in a forest. Not very exciting. You get out of the sleeping bag and roll it up, propping it up against a nearby tree. You sigh, looking up at the sky, not quite lit yet. You take the chance and start walking towards the large maze of trees surrounding your vision. You brush the trunks as you hike past, looking up at the branches making a canopy across the sky. You continue looking for a road while you keep your ears open, hoping to hear a car pass.

A flash of white passes your view. You stand up quickly and look around the forest. You don't see anything so you take a deep breath, going onward. You come to a clearing, and realize you walked in a circle. Groaning, you roll your eyes. Really? I'm so unlucky. You see a person in the foliage above you, and when you look up, nothing is there. You shake your head- you can't lose focus. You pick a different direction and briskly move through the trees, determined to get the hell out of this place. Oh yeah, and Alyssa? When you find her, she will rue the day she dumped you in the wild.

You collapse on the mossy soil. Was he gone? You couldn't tell, but you couldn't keep calm either way. You hide in a bush as you listen for anything; something to give him away. That weird boy had followed you. Why won't he leave me alone? I should have stayed home... You slowly drag yourself to your feet, hoping to start running. He had stabbed your gut. What was he doing anyway; hadn't he just warned you about Alyssa? Does he just want to kill you? Amid your thoughts, you forgot to listen. Pain drives through your mind as you crumble to the floor, looking up at the bloody smile that haunts your sleep. "My name is Jeff, by the way." He said in a husky voice. You hate that voice. No, you hate Jeff's voice. He throws the rock to the side, picking you up. You black out as he carries you off.

Chapter 6

It was dark. Your head ached slightly, and your memory was foggy. You tried moving around a little, to see if you could get up. Looking to the side, you saw Jeff. The door was open and he was standing there. He smiled, blood dripping down his face onto his hoodie. You stared at him, feeling the cold floor as you shifted backward. He moved his head to the side and extended his hand. With a shaking limb, you grab it, feeling the rough material of his hoodie. He pulled you up and you noticed a sharp pain in your side, immediately grabbing it. You look down at your hand and with a shudder realize blood covers it. You look at Jeff with wide eyes.

He rolled his eyes. "Look, you woke up when we were in my car." he sighed. He picked you up and carried you to the door, smirking, "You put up a good fight, so I had to stab you and make you stop." You looked away. You were not sure where you were, and you were now stuck with Jeff. What happened to Alyssa? You tried to push her out of your memory, but no matter how hard you tried, she stayed there. Burning into your mind. You looked around the room a little more as Jeff set you down in the kitchen. It wasn't the cleanest place, but it was better than the forest. He set down a Tylenol bottle and a glass of water for your aching side. You gave a little smile and took the items. The cold water filled your throat as you swallowed the small pill. The world around you was slightly blurry as you shook yourself awake, gulping down more water. "Woah sweetheart, take it easy." Jeff sighed. The chair next to you dragged on the floor as he rested his arms on the table looking at you.

You returned the favor. Deciding to focus on something else, looking down at your hands, you think of your parents. They were assholes, sure, but you missed them. Those two were the only family you had and you weren't content with being alone with someone you barely knew. Actually, no. You didn't know Jeff, because the only time you spent time with him was when he stabbed you. Shit. A ringing sound came from the counter and the chair was tugged on the floor as Jeff moved towards it, picking it up and listening for a moment. He sighed and put it down, moving his head to look at you. His shoes tapped on the floor as his arms wrapped around your frame. "I've got to go darling, but I'll be back to spend some time with you." You felt a hand raise your jaw to make you meet his eyes. "Stay in the house." With that, Jeff walked down the hallway and the front door creaked as his footsteps left the house.

You looked through the pantry for some food to eat and found it mostly bare. You rolled your eyes. You grabbed the water he had given you a few minutes ago and decided to look around the house for cameras and to learn about the good hiding spots. After all, if you were going to leave, you needed a plan. You ventured up the hallway into a room, that was messy and disorganized, you assumed it belonged to Jeff. His bed wasn't made, his clothes were everywhere, and you could see stuff falling out of his closet. You made a mental note to clean this later.

Only A Memory

(WARNING: Blood (Obviously) Forced kissing (Nothing beyond that) Swearing)

You ventured upstairs and saw all the windows were boarded up. That made this complicated, you could no longer jump out at any given time. You look in the closet, and nothing is in it. Looking at the boards, you went back downstairs. The Garage was locked, like the front door. Nothing has proved to be helpful in your situation. You sat down, feeling helpless. You didn't want to stay here forever, away from your family and all you've ever known. Sure, you had dysfunctional parents, but it was better than nothing. It's certainly better than being with an insane killer.

The floors creaked as you walked through the halls, trying to find comfort in this place. Most of the doors led to nothing except boarded windows and broken glass. The place was in shambles. You heard a noise from the other side of the hallway. 'How weird. No one should be here.' You peered out around from the corner and saw Alyssa. She started walking your way, so you jumped out to scare her. She jumped back and brandished a knife. Seeing it was you, she sighed. "You scared the shit out of me." You chuckled and rolled your eyes.

"Consider it some payback for... LEAVING ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WOODS?" You replied, waving your arms around to amplify your point. "I'm sorry." Alyssa said, "I have to get you out of here, he'll be coming back soon!" She led you back around to the room she broke in through. You jumped out onto the roof first, fighting to keep your balance as some tiles were missing and slipping out from under your feet. Edging around the side, and checking that Alyssa was still with you, you gathered your courage and jumped down.

You rolled onto your side. Alyssa leaped down and held out her hand. You took it, and then you both took in your surroundings. Alyssa's car was parked about a mile away. "Couldn't park it in front. If he came back, he would know." It was logical, you knew, but annoying all the same.

Leaves crunched under your feet as trees went by in a blur. Alyssa...where was she now? You didn't have time to go back after he showed up. Weaving around fallen trees and branches, you risked a look over your shoulder only to see Jeff on your trail. 'I thought I lost him back there...' Nevertheless, you wouldn't be giving up. The ground grew to a slope making you lose some speed. Trying to lose him desperately, you leaped back down the hill, tumbling head over heels. Jeff did the same thing, managing to grab your leg and dig his knife into it. You cried out in pain and kicked at him, warm blood gushing out of your leg as you did so. He tore his knife out and stood up to tackle you completely. You tried to stand but felt a wave of dizziness- and fell to your knees.

Pain ripped through your head as your hair was pulled out. He chuckled and put the blade to your neck. "My patience isn't limitless darling~" You struggled against his grip as he forced his lips to yours, knee dug into your gut. He pulled back and picked you up only to slam you into a tree. Shaking in fear, you looked up to meet his angry eyes. He gently caressed your face, smiling softly.

"If only you hadn't been so difficult."

Cold steel met with your skin for the last time that night, your blood leaking onto his hoodie as he ran you through.
