Hey everyone! I am so sorry that I haven't posted in so long. I'm taking my thesis this semester and it's my last semester, so stand by me please, but I will be trying very hard to get my chapters out as often as possible. If there is anything you would like to see or know more about, let me know and I will work it into the story somehow. Promise.
Thanks for reading! :)
As the sun rises on the sea's waves and the glints on the edge of a dragon's wings, the island is taking off, dragons moving and waking up, ready for a new day and the naps that will come. Like the dragons whose fire she holds, Bloom is waking with the rise of the sun, readying herself mentally for the day. Thankfully, she and Sky had not been last yesterday, though poor Timmy and Tecna had been, she and Meadow had a mommy daughter day planned. If her daughter really did take after her mother and did in fact possess a part of the dragon fire, she should be waking up herself. The simple power of the island always made it hard for Bloom to sleep in late.
When the small royal family had arrived in the early afternoon the day before, Meadow had immediately gone into their house on the island and made herself at home again. Ever since she was a baby, she had always felt at home on the island, as her mother has felt since her first trip to the island. The feel of the island's magic and the breath of life from the dragons, though sometimes frightening (when a dragon has a fit), has always given a relaxing feel to the beach.
Glancing at the alarm clock on her side of the bed, Bloom sees that it is just past 5:30 in the morning. She pushes the covers back and drops her feet to the floor of her home, slipping on her soft slippers and pulling down the hem of her nightdress. This early in the morning, without of the pull of the Dragon Fire, one should be asleep. As past her shoulder, her husband is asleep, and looking in the crib near the door so is her husband. Satisfied that she is the only one in her room awake, she leaves the room in search of her daughter.
Meadow is not where her mother would have thought. Obviously, not in her bed, Bloom looks in the kitchen, where Meadow is known to search for snacks in the morning, but she is not there either. Slightly nervous now, Bloom searches for clues of her daughter or her daughter's pixie. Finally, she sees the front door slightly ajar and looks out on the porch. Meadow is just beyond the porch, seated in the sand with Aaron, Stella's son. The sight nearly melts her heart. How could a mother not be happier to see her daughter being protected by the child of her own best friend, who is her own daughter's best friend?
At least we might not have messed up in their pairing. Bloom thinks, remembering the day she, Sky, Stella, and Brandon sat down to discuss the future. Stella had always hoped that Bloom would have a daughter that her son would marry, and Meadow's birth just one month prior had made Stella so excited. She suggested that, while it is should not be a normal arranged marriage, it should be the Winx equivalent of it. And, from that day on, the four decided that they would direct the situation between the two toward marriage. So far, so good, but one must remember that the children are still young.
Aaron turns to Meadow and asks her something, not that Bloom can hear what it is, but she can see that her daughter nods her head and smiles at the boy.
"Good morning, kids" says Bloom as she steps onto the porch. "How did you sleep?"
The two turn toward her, Aaron's body angling toward Meadow and Meadow's angling toward Aaron's. ""Morning Mom. The dragons woke me up." Meadow says just as Aaron replies.
"Morning Aunt Bloom. I slept ok."
"I know, baby girl. And I'm glad you slept well Aaron. Thank you for keeping Meadow company. Meadow, are you ready to go to the dragon awakening?"
"Yeah Mom. Let me just get some shoes." Meadow replies, then looks at Aaron. "Can he come too?"
Bloom glances at Aaron, but shakes her head despite her smile. "I really wish he could honey, but the dragons will only let us through because of our power, and he doesn't have a spark of the Dragon Fire. I'm sorry Aaron."
"It's okay, Aunt Bloom. Thanks for thinking of me Meadow, but I should get back to Mom and Dad and wake them up so we can eat. See you at the beach when you are done?"
Meadow smiles and him, stands up, dusting sand from her shorts, and nods her head. "See you at the beach."
