Part 3

A/N :Thanks for all the support. It seems like you guys as well are torn between the two. I think I'll go Naruto x Yugao as they've already met and trying to fit in shizune now would be troublesome but I'll try to do both.

3 months since the last chapter.

"And I'd like to thank Neko and her team for their brilliant work in the mist, they did a great job out there. Everyone is excused." The captain concluded as Yugao quickly sent a full squad report and unpacked her weapons from the mission into her Locker(look I don't know what it is).

As soon as she closed it, she met the gaze of one her friends and squad mates, Anko Mitarashi. "what do you want Anko?" she asked her teammate as soon as she noticed her gaze. Anko was really a tough one for her, she was weird, creepy and stubborn but she was one hell of a good agent.

"Oh nothing! You wanna come hang out with us tonight" however she was quickly shot down the idea. As she began to walk way however Anko wasn't going down easy this time.

"Come on Kurenai will be there" she added to try and persuade the purple haired kunoichi into joining her. She thought for a moment it hard worked as Yugao stopped for moment as if to think about.

"oh well…" Anko mentally fist pumped the air as she thought she'd finally gotten her. "Oh well tell her I said high" Yugao said as she began walking away.

"Hey you know you never hangout with us anymore" Anko told her making her stop dead in her tracks. "well we're always on missions and we don't have a lot of free time".

She just received a sigh, "we don't need a lot of time, just a few hours to eat you know?" Yugao suddenly felt bad. Anko was right she hadn't been a good friend the past few months, she'd been blowing them off and that wasn't really what a good friend should do. But it wasn't as if it was her fault, she had to go make sure Naruto was alright because she was his guard.

"I'm sorry I've been busy with something else" she in her apologetic voice as she turned to face her friend. She really hoped Anko and Kurenai didn't start to dislike her because of that.

"yeah we figured" Kurenai responded from behind her. Yugao turned around to greet her friend. She had long black hair and red beautiful eyes. The three girls decided to catch up a little as they made it out of HQ.

"So Yugao you coming or not?" Anko asked as they were just about to leave into the main street. This was probably the only time they could successfully persuade her to join them.

'I really want to go but I have to go see him first, It's been a month but I can't keep doing this to them.' The two of them stared at their friend who remain silent, they waited passionately hoping that she wouldn't blow them off again however they'd understand it seemed like whatever was keeping her away was really important.

"Okay let's go" she answered making Anko over excited as she pounced on her burying her head in her chest. Kurenai had to pull off Anko from Yugao but she also had a smile plastered all over her face.

"Sorry guess I was too excited" Anko apologised and all three of them went towards (That restaurant were team Asuma used to eat at a lot, forgotten the name)

Meanwhile with Naruto

The Blonde was currently dodging a bunch of shuriken being thrown at him by Kakashi. He found himself flipping, ducking and rolling to avoid them, in addition he was supposed to close the distance between him and Silver haired Cyclops to 10 yards without taking damage from any of the kunai.

The blonde had been at it since 12pm which was about 4 hours ago but he still hadn't closed down the space. He was about 15 yards away from the Cyclops he just needed to close another 5. He dodged the final 2 kunai as he leaped at Kakashi nearing to the 10 yard marker that lay on that ground. The blonde could feel his body drawing ever closer, "Hey watch out!" as soon as he heard that he leaped to side and watched as Shuriken impaled the ground.

'That was a close one' Kakashi said to himself as he watched the blonde move out of the way, 'His senses are dulling he must be tired' he told himself as he looked in the direction of the stranger who warned the blonde.

"Sasuke! Why'd you interrupt their training" Itachi said as he lightly bonked his head, "come on go apologise". Itachi and Sasuke drew closer they noticed Kakashi immediately noticed Itachi, he'd grown taller since they last met though.

"My my Itachi what do I owe the pleasure?" he asked in his former teammate in his regular tone.

"Good to see you too captain" Itachi greeted back.

"please no Captain here, I'm not in the Anbu anymore" he said as he glanced back to see Sasuke helping up Naruto.

"It seems like they're acquainted" Kakashi said as he turned back to face the Uchiha prodigy, who nodded confirming his question. "Quite a few times actually" he responded as he vague memories of the two beating up bullies, well Naruto's bullies flashed his mind.

"oh I see" Kakashi replied as he noticed the look the Uchiha was giving him. He didn't want it publicly known that he was training the blonde that's why he chose the outskirt of the village but it seemed that wasn't their personal training ground like he thought. Not that Itachi would tell anyway

"So I take it you were coming to train Sasuke?" Itachi nodded. "But it seems like you beat me to the chase" he smiled as he stared at the blonde, he was one of the only shinobi who knew the truth about him due to the simple fact he was about 6 years old when he and his mother would go see Naruto's mother.

Naruto was helped up by Sasuke who threw him a faint smile. "In the end you always need me to save your ass" Naruto was soon able to stand on his feet and throw a glare at the Uchiha, "Heh, that's the only time!"

"What about 3 weeks ago?" the Uchiha asked with a bit of smug behind his voice. "what happened 3 weeks ago" both Itachi and Kakashi asked at the same time. It must have been less than a month ago when He saw the Blonde being chased by some genin.

'Not again' he mentally sighed as he followed after the blonde. Naruto who was being chased manoeuvred between all carts and what not leading them into a the end where he proceeded to take on all 4 of them. The Uchiha watched as the blonde incapacitated two of them simultaneously by leaping off each of them into a kick.

However he wasn't so lucky to avoid the third guy who grabbed him out of the air and slammed him into the ground.

"You dobe need help?" Naruto looked up to see Sasuke leaning unto the wall with a smug look on his face.

"tch…Only this time" he said as he backed away from the from the genin leaving him in the middle the of the alley.

"What's this another one has come to play?" he said as he walked towards the uchiha. He noticed the Uchiha start weaving some hand signs as he drew closer.

"Oh what's this? The brat is weaving hand signs. Ohhhhh don't hurt me" he mocked as he began laughing. He noticed the Uchiha's smug look didn't clear from his face.

'Fire style: fire ball jutsu' the genin watched as the fire ball occupied the whole alley and began to head towards him, he turned around in attempt to run out of the end of the alley however when he looked up he saw the blonde with a foxy grin on his face.

'Earth style : earth wall jutsu' he watched as the only root for escape for him was blocked. A little scream was heard as the two left the genin in the alley. Of course the fire ball didn't kill him some 'minor' burns here and there.

Back to the present

"Tch, fine and that too"

"I didn't know Naruto had the earth affinity captain"

"He has all but fire and lightning" Kakashi told his former teammate before walking up to the two of them.

"It seems like the two of you are quite the duo" they both looked up to see the silver haired Cyclops in front of them.

"yeah we're kinda awesome but I'm better" they both stated in unison making them glare at each other. "no, it's me" "like hell sasuke, it's me".

"Both of you be silent, We could settle this in a more professional way. You'll both be eligible to join the academy in 1 year"

The two boys nodded in agreement. "So you'll both spar in 1 year time, right before you enter the academy"

The two stared at each other before jumping into battle stances, "or we could go right now" sasuke suggested. "any settle it here and now" Naruto finished.

"I think we should follow Kakashi's lead on this" Itachi added making the two drop their stances. "I guess you're right Itachi it would give us both enough time to learn and train" the blonde added to which Sasuke agreed. Kakashi's face looked like he'd just experience heartbreak even though no one could tell from under the mask.

"Well then Itachi we'll be taking our leave then" Kakashi said even though he received whining the blonde. He knew the blonde was more exhausted than usual but he wouldn't give up.

"See you later Captain" Itachi waved while Sasuke glared at Naruto before bidding farewell "Later dobe"

"Well then Sasuke let's get to training" Itachi said as his little brother beamed with excitement.

4 Hours later

Yugao looked at the time on her watch and immediately received stares from her two friends. "What?" she asked a bit nervously as they stared at her for long periods without saying anything.

"Tell us! Who's the boy?" Anko asked Yugao which caused her to blush. "what do you mean? There's no boy" Anko frowned at her before giving her a large grin. "so then it's a man?" Yugao nodded before fully processing the question as soon as she realised her face turned red.

"It's Kakashi isn't it!" Anko asked but she was surprised to see a deadpan look on Yugao's face. "Why would it be him? I've never even seen him under mask before"

"So you don't deny it being an older man huh?" Kurenai asked as she continued to consume her food.

"Look there's no man or boy okay, just work" Anko threw a sarcastic defeated sigh at her. "Ok I believe you" Anko said so sarcastically the 3 began laughing.

"Well see you guys later" Yugao waved her friends off before heading to her own home. 'by now he'd be asleep' she said following with a sigh. 'I guess we could talk tomorrow' she said as she continued to walk towards her home.

But to the contrary the blonde was not asleep. He'd just woken up from another nightmare. Naruto had been having nightmares at least thrice a week since he refused to the open to open the seal for the fox

2 months ago

"Do you hear me Naruto" the blonde nodded slowly probably in fear but of the fox and it's actions or tone Kakashi used to address him.

"Captain you're scaring him, can't you be nice?" she said as she cradled the trembling blonde pulling him closer to chest. Kakashi let out a defeated sigh, she was right he could have handled that better no he should have handled that better.

"I'm sorry Naruto" Kakashi apologised as he patted the blonde's hair. "You know what would make him forgive you captain?" Yugao asked letting him let out a heavy sigh. "Ramen?" he asked receiving nods from the both of them he went out to get some.

That night the three of them ate ramen and shared a bunch of laughs, it was almost good enough of a night to make Naruto forget. Almost was a key word though, as soon as the blonde had fallen asleep in Yugao's arms he woke up in a familiar place.

"Naruto, you're back" the fox snarled. "I think it's about time you took off the seal".

"No" he responded.

"what?" the fox growled. "You better remove it or else!"

"Or else what" the blonde asked with some confidence in his voice. "You can't do anything as long as you're sealed behind those bars"

The fox sent out an evil chuckle. "Is that what you think? You will regret this boy! Once I get control I will make you suffer"

"and how will you do that" the blonde wished he'd never asked this question two months ago.

"Let me show you"

The fox proceeded to show blonde different type of ways in which he'd kill Yugao and Kakashi and even Sasuke.

The blonde could feel his dinner planning to come out.

"and all it takes is one loss of control" the fox grinned as the blonde continued watch in horror.

Back to the present

Since then you could say the Blonde really never slept well again. And with Yugao gone for 1 month to have no one to cling on and made it worse. He began to get less than 3 hours of sleep and even those 3 hours were plagued by screams.

So there the blonde in the dark sits trembling, hugging his knees with tears threatening to fall out. He tried to concentrate on some jutsus but kept dozing off. The bags under his eyes much more visible, albeit no one noticed not even Kakashi noticed them. Naruto thought that was better as Kakashi would probably force him to sleep or rest, not that he didn't need it this was his 3rd sleepless night.

He noticed the door open and his tearful gaze met the gaze of the only person he could have hoped to seen that evening. "Yugao-san" he weakly called out.

"Naruto? What are you doing up at this time?" she asked as she dropped her bag beside the door and moved to the trembling boy.

"Naruto? Are you okay?" she asked as he drew closer and closer noticing the tears in his eyes as they rolled down his cheeks.

She pulled him into a hug as he sobbed into her chest. She passed her fingers through his golden locks, "Hey Naruto, what's wrong?" she asked as he pulled the blond to look at his face, she immediately noticed the bags under his eyes.

"Naruto have you been sleeping?" she asked in a soft tenderly voice, the blonde sobs began to slowly reduce.

"No" he responded.

Why not" she asked as soon as she did the sobs returned, she cursed herself. " You can tell me Naruto, I'm here for you"

The blonde began to explain what transpired that night, hearing that the blonde had been silently going through all this alone made her angry but also sad.

"Naruto, those aren't real. They're like a genjutsu, not real" she cooed into his ear. "but then how do I get rid of them" he asked as her as now she cradled him like before in the bed.

"You have to go there and show him who's boss, it's not his body and it's yours, It's your mind Naruto. Don't let him control it" he softly nodded as he faced in front of her.

"I believe I you okay?" she said as she placed a tender kiss on his neck causing the blonde to let out a purr that made her giggle.

"Good night Naruto-kun"

"Good night Yugao-san"

And for the first time in a while, the blonde had a peaceful sleep
