Chapter 9: Hey Shigaraki, Dabi
After the kid passed out, Shigaraki flopped down onto his back. After doing all that fighting he was exhausted. He had decayed a lot of people too, so his hands were starting to cramp up.
It had been awhile since Shigaraki had pushed himself so hard. He knew the reason he had though was because he didn't want any of his comrades to die.
Shigaraki would also prefer that if anyone was to kill the hero brat, that it would be him.
He would also appreciate it if the League never did anymore kidnapping missions, like, Ever.
From the ground, Shigaraki complained,
"Dabi, we are never doing something like this again"
With a small laugh, Dabi replied, "I don't plan on it"
"Good good. How was the kid before we got here?" Shigaraki questioned.
"Eh..I'm pretty sure he was in and out of it the entire time, but he was able to tell when I was about to collapse. Pretty sure he whispered 'Just rest' and 'Don't give up' before you guys got here"
Shigaraki sighed, "Then I'm going to assume that the brat didn't know who we were till the end"
"Probably not"
"Shiggy! Shiggy! Did you guys save Izu-kun?" Toga questioned as she bounded over to the two.
"Yeah, we did," Shigaraki replied.
"Yes!" Toga squealed.
Compress exclaimed "That was quite the battle" as he walked over to the group.
"One hell of a battle! Super easy!" Twice said happily.
Shigaraki slowly sat up, grumbling the entire time about kids being brats. When he was fully sat up, Shigaraki saw that the rest of the League was now standing around him and Dabi.
"Tomura Shigaraki, I believe we have completed our mission, yes?" Kurogiri questioned.
"Yeah, we have. Our next course of action is patching the kid up though, he looks horrible" Shigaraki replied.
"Aw! But I think he looks really pretty covered in his blood!" Toga complained.
Dabi sighed, "Crazy, if we don't patch him up he will probably die from blood loss"
"Oh..I didn't know that," Toga said cheekily.
Of course she didn't, Shigaraki and Dabi thought.
"Kurogiri, make a warpgate back to the bar" Shigaraki ordered.
"Of course, Tomura Shigaraki" Kurogiri complied.
Shigaraki slowly got up off the ground, and turned to see if Dabi needed any help. Apparently he didn't though since he was already standing up with the kid in his arms.
He then turned to where Kurogiri was making the warp portal and motioned everybody through. Once everyone was through, Shigaraki took one last look at the battlefield, and then walked through the portal.
When the League walked through, they all ended up back in the bar. Most of the members collapsed onto the furniture from exhaustion, while others started to clean themselves up.
"Hey Spinner," Shigaraki called out, "Can you get the med kit to stitch the kid up?"
Spinner got up from where he was sitting and replied, "Sure"
He might not look it, but believe it or not, Spinner was there go to doctor. He was the one who was always patching up the members of the League when they got hurt on missions.
This was because before Spinner had joined the League, he had gotten his medical degree. Even though Spinner had passed, no hospitals would take him because of his appearance, so Shigaraki saw that Spinner enjoyed taking care of them.
While it was good to have a certified doctor, Shigaraki also deemed it very important that the heroes didn't find out about who patched them up. If they did, they would immediately eliminate that person so the League couldn't patch themselves up very well if they had a fatal injury.
Shigaraki would much rather have a certified doctor patch them up rather than one of their crazy members, after all.
Walking back into the room Spinner called out, "Dabi, can you softly place the kid on the couch?"
Dabi replied, "Sure"
Dabi slowly hefted the kid onto the couch that Spinner had asked him to place him on. He then backed up and sat off to the side to watch Spinner patch the kid up.
Spinner slowly took the kid's shirt off to get a closer look at the bullet wound but stopped halfway. Shigaraki and Dabi being the closest to the kid, had seen exactly why Spinner had suddenly stopped taking the kid's shirt off.
Just from looking at the kid's chest and stomach, they could see a multitude of scars and burns.
Snapping out of his shock, Spinner slowly continued to take the kids shirt off the rest of the way.
When he had, the three that could see the kid could only gasp. There were even more burn marks on his shoulders and neck than there were on his stomach.
All the burns were in the shape of a Starburst, and were relatively small. The worst of the burns though had to be the one on the kids neck.
That burn started at the kid's shoulder and went up to the nape of his neck. You could tell by just looking at it that it had to have hurt when the kid got it.
When Dabi saw the burns, he wasn't very happy, having his fair share of experience dealing with the burns all over his body, he knew it had to hurt.
Dabi also knew that the burns had to have come from someone else, considering that the kid didn't have any sort of fire or heating quirk. That meant that someone had attacked the kid and inflicted a nasty burn onto his neck.
The scar didn't look like something that could be gained in hero training either, so that meant the kid had received the burn before entering high school.
That did not paint a pretty picture.
When Spinner saw the burns, he immediately knew something was wrong. The burns were all placed in random spots along the kids body, but the one thing in common with them all was the fact that the burns were all precisely made.
Based on the shapes of the burns and the color, Spinner could tell that the burns were placed onto the kids body on purpose, and whoever had done it knew exactly what they were doing.
The person knew exactly how much heat they could get away with when they were burning the kid, and they knew exactly where to place them to avoid suspicion.
And wasn't that concerning.
When Shigaraki saw the burn, he felt the urge to destroy something. Sure, people gain scars throughout life, but no child should have that many scars on them at that age.
Even a hero in training shouldn't have that many injuries. They were supposed to learn how to reduce the amount of injury they gave themselves, so the scars hadn't come from the kid himself.
That meant that someone else had inflicted the scars upon the kids body, and it was probably from before he went to U.A.
Shigaraki wasn't an expert on burn injuries, but he knew enough to know that those burns were quite old. Like the person that had done it stopped so they wouldn't get caught.
Shigaraki didn't like it at all.
After he was able to get over the shock of the amount of scars that the kid wore, Spinner slowly got to work tending to the kid's shoulder. Luckily whatever the kid had been shot with wasn't in his shoulder, so Spinner only had to worry about stitching and cleaning it up.
Grabbing the alcohol wipes, Spinner slowly started to wipe all the dried blood off the kids shoulder. Once he was done with that, Spinner picked up the stitching needle and started putting in the stitches.
Surprisingly during the whole stitching up process the kid didn't make a sound or move once. Shigaraki and Dabi thought that it was weird, but decided to leave it alone till later.
Once Spinner finished up the stitches, he switched over to wrapping the kids head up in some bandages. The kid's head wasn't really damaged, but he definitely had been hit hard based on how loopy he was previously. It was better safe than sorry.
When Spinner was done, he got up and started putting the medical supplies away while talking to Shigaraki,
"He's all patched up boss. Now it's just up to him to wake up"
Shigaraki replied, "Thanks Spinner"
Spinner nodded, and walked out of the bar to go put the medical kit away.
After watching Spinner walk away, Dabi asked Shigaraki, "We keepin the quirk cancelin cuffs on him?"
Shigaraki hummed, then got up and walked over to the kid.
"I suppose the chain connecting them doesn't need to be there, but we'll keep the actual cancelors on as a precaution"
Shigaraki then reached out and destroyed the chain connecting the two cuffs. All that was left were the two rings on either side of the kid's wrist. At least that way the kid would be a little more comfortable, especially with his shoulder.
Shigaraki figured it was probably annoying to have your hands cuffed in front of you when your shoulder was injured. He knew from experience what it felt like to be shot by a gun after all.
He then walked back over to his seat at the bar, and sat back down.
Shigaraki watched as Dabi slowly placed the kids arms down so they were down at his side. He then proceeded to watch Dabi sit on the edge of the couch right by the kids head.
Was he protective of the kid now?
It seemed Toga also noticed the action, because she called out, "Hey Dabi, any reason you're sitting on the edge of the couch instead of somewhere else?"
Dabi scowled, and replied, "No, do you have a problem with where I sit crazy?"
"Nope. Just wondering is all," Toga replied as she went back to polishing her knives.
Dabi totally wasn't just sitting there because he had protective big brother urges for the kid now.
Nope.
Absolutely not.
He did not care what happened to the kid at all.
"You know Dabi, if you're protective of the brat now you could just say so" Shigaraki supplied with a smirk.
Dabi thinned his eyes and replied back, "I am not protective of the kid"
Sarcastically, Shigaraki said, "Yeah, and I don't have two eyes"
"I'm serious," Dabi snipped back.
"Sure sure, whatever you say burnt bacon" Shigaraki said with a sly grin on his face.
Dabi immediately stood up and growled, "Oh you wanna go crusty?"
Shigaraki stood up as well, replying, "Maybe I do Dabi"
"Then let's go you crusty-"
"Is this normal here?"
Silence.
Whatever noise that was previously being made in the bar immediately ceased. Everyone slowly turned their heads towards the sound, and saw an awake Izuku Midoriya.
With a bright smile and small wave, the kid said, "Hey Shigaraki, Dabi"
The collective thought now circling through the League's head was…
What the hell?
