Chapter 6
Anduin and I became good friends over the span of five years. I got to know him more for who he was and found him to be a boy who has a big heart. He was a little stand-offish after Jaina ratted him out though. I didn't blame him. She was kinda intense. That was five years ago, and now I'm being asked to accompany him on a scouting exhibition. Alduin looks small in front of my x-military father, he seems to be sweating a little too. My fathers from Gilneas, known for the Worgen outbreak. My father was attacked by an infected man and contracted the virus. The virus turned part of his genetics into wolf genetics. Turning him half man half wolf as well for many others as well with their King. My father was also known for his temper. When he was working in the Kings guard. He retired when my brother was born but he'd do some job for the King because he was the one he could trust with the task. He also trained the champion of Gilneas. I can understand how you can be nervous. But over the years he has worked on his temper.
"You want my daughter to do what?" my dad growled .
"I would like your daughter to come with me on a scouting mission," He seemed to be tripping over his words and then continued "I promise it's only for a few weeks" I looked up at my father to see nothing but a scowl on his face. I looked back at Anduin to see a mixture of fear and hope on his face. My dad made eye contact with Aduin with a scowl that seemed to make Aduin shiver a little . My father crossed his arms almost like putting a wall between me and Aduin.
"James, you know that I would not put her in danger. I trust the kid. He's a good boy." said Sully standing up to my dad.
"Sully I know you trust the kid but I don't" growled my father. My mother and I gently touched his arms trying to calm him down. He huffed and uncrossed his arms to put them on his hips. He looked at the floor with a sigh then looked at me.
"I want you back home after the boat leaves and take Ari with you" My father mumbled as he patted my back. I smiled as I gave my father a hug and I told him thank you. I walked out of the house with Aduin, Sully and the Spymaster.
"So am I supposed to call you "The Pickle" or can I call you Sully"? I asked, trying to break the tension, as I looked at him.
The Dwarf laughed and I assumed I could call him Sully. Sully was a dwarf with long, brown hair along with a long beard. I have known him since I was six. Long story short, he helped me find my way back home after I got lost. The Spymaster was a different story. I have not met him yet. He looked familiar but I could not put my finger on who he was. He was a night elf with dark hair and dark skin with bright blue eyes. I nodded as I motioned towards Ari to follow and started to make our way into the city.
Stormwind is the capital of all the races in the Alliance also known as the city of stone. It was built hundreds of years ago when the alliance was formed. All races agreed on a King to make the big decisions for the Alliance, like expanding their power per say, which was the Wrynn family at the moment. Varian Wrynn is the current King of Stormwind, who was Anduin's Dad, and is a "respectable" King. He was a brown haired man with a short temper but he was good to his people. He had an arranged marriage with Aduins mother, Tiffin. She was a blonde-haired, blue eyed woman known for her gentle nature, her love of art, and the love for her kingdom and the world.
We walked through the giant gates then we were graded with statues of a dwarf, what looks like a paladin, a wizard, and an elf huntress. At the very end that looks down the pathway is a moral of the first King.
"So do you mind if I ask you why you call him Ari?"Aduin questioned trying to make conversation
"It means eagle in Old Norse and I also liked how it sounded." I answered
"I see jötunn If you were going for a Norse name." Aduin exclaimed
"He's not that big" I playfully replied
"He's five years old, he should be dead!" Aduin screeched
"Sweyn Dire Wolves can live longer than normal wolves. He's going to get bigger" I sighed, scratching Ari on the noise. I smiled at Ari as he head butted my hip. Sully looked at Ari with a nervous expression because Ari was about as tall as he is. We walked through town through so many stores and a couple bakeries. There were a few clusters of people that we walked by. I could feel people's eyes all over us. Then I started to hear whispering.I felt uncomfortable with how much people were looking at me. I could feel the judgment coming off of the people we walked by. I smiled as Air and Sully stood between me and the people we walked passed.
"Are you okay? You look nervous…" Aduin muttered as he passed a hand on my shoulder. I nodded
"Just don't understand how you can walk with so many people watching you." I sighed
"I've grown used to it over the years" Aduin added
"I could never" I said as I lightly pushed him over, he chuckled.
"Hey now, play nice over there" Sully scowled trying to sound serious. I rolled my eyes then started to pick on Sully.
