Chapter 14
It took a few minutes for Rell to remember what had happened; he seemed dazed, almost passed out a couple of times. Ari laid next to Rell and would lick the side of his face when he close his eyes for longer that a couple of seconds,
"Are you ready to talk about what happened?" Mishka questioned
"We had been traveling north for several hours, when there was a fallen tree that was just out of place. I asked Sully if he knew what possibly could have happened to it, he said that something had to have hit it, that it was not cut down and it didn't fall on its own. After talking to Sully for a few minutes Little Lu asked if it was a type of a bird, Sully looked at the metal construction and explained to Little Lu that it was a plane, not a bird. It was when Sully spun around and shouted that it was Copperfire's plane. He ran down to see if Copperfire was alive, to my surprise he was. He was barely breathing, before passing out for a brief period. He noticed there were hozen that were patrolling the area. I order Sully to keep the plane from exploding on and the rest of us, Little Lu to keep Glimsparke alive as Amber and I readied for battle. We managed to fend them off until Sully could get Glimsparke out of the plane without hurting him further," Rell coughed
"Alright I think that is enough out of you," Mishka hushed as Rell coughed heavier to where he started to cough up blood,
"Both Amber and Rell fight very well. They managed to kill several as Sully dragged Byte and I out," The gnome spoke
"Byte?" I questioned looking down at the gnome
"Yea, my dog," The gnome bubbled as he pointed towards a large shell. I continued to look by the shell until I saw a rusted green, spiked dog. It seemed to be powered off or asleep, some parts of the animal looked to be constructed quickly. The dog was just organic looking enough to look like an actual dog. The metal patchwork was impressive, the metal was formed to fit the wiring and engine that powered the dog. The green paint seemed to be fading and chipped, The spikes were sticking out of the dogs back. They looked like a table saw blade.
"Rell you need your rest, Sully can tell Manlan what happened next," Amber chimed in as Rell coughed some more trying to protest.
"Sully, tell me what happened next?" Manlan questioned
"Well we were still heading north when we came across a clearing Rell asked if I could make him an axe. I asked if he needed a wood-cutting axe or a people-killing axe?"Sully started as he chuckled
"Sully stay focused," Manlan growled
"Oh, right umm, Rell gave orders to try to find the White Pawn or just a sign Amber found a perch and told me to shine a light and she killed whatever the light was shining on there. I had a rifle scope in my pocket, it would have to do. So I started with the north shrine. There were many tigers but no sign of Anduin. I made my way over to the South West shrine. There was no sign of Anduin either, But there was a raccoon that wanted to be my friend so I called him Gizmo but Amber killed him!" Sully told
"I said I was sorry about the damn raccoon!" Amber shout at Sully
"The raccoon was cute!" the gnome shouted from his makeshift workstation
"Another Raccoon befriended me later and I called him Socks, and quickly carried on before Amber could kill him too. I scouted the rest of the shrines but found nothing so I quickly ran back over to camp. When I came back over the hill there was a shout. I sounded like Rell, I quickly made my way over the hill to see a Hozen stabbing him. I had the scope in my hand so I shined it on the hozen. When the hozen was dead I quickly checked on Rell to make sure he was okay," Sully ended with sniffle
"I can tell you what happened next Mr. Star," a voice bubbled, it was a white and blue striped Jinyu
"Please do," Manlan said with a stern voice
"Rell survived the attack, but wasn't doing very well. Amber made the motion to stop so Rell can rest when I noticed a pandaren hut. I explained that the pandaren where allies and whoever lived in the hut could possibly help. So Sully and I went up to the hut but the sign was not very welcoming. But Sully persisted that the sign was not going to keep him and the raccoon away," The stripped Jinyu started
"His name was Socks!" Sully cried as he leaned on Ari
"Right S-o-cks, when we got closer to the hut I started to see small jade statues. They seemed lifelike, when I was browsing the status one coat my eye. Sully I believed called it an Orc? He seemed very disturbed by the creature. When a female pandaren came out of the hut. She seemed very happy to see us, she was very confused on what Sully was. When he started to explain what he was. She smiled, but it was twisted and when I put two-and-two-together, it was two late. We ran before she turned us into jade,"
"Sadly Sock didn't make it," The gnome grumbled as he twisted some parts together.
"The loss of the raccoon is the least of our worries. Our biggest concern is that petrified orc… and what its presence means to our mission. I can tell you the rest of the story," Amber said. For some reason I started to grow nervous on hearing that the horde had a possibility of being here on this island. I could feel my heart drop just thinking on just who the Horde would hurt just to get what they want
"We both are all ears Amber," Manlan chatted as Amber sigh as she looked at the gnome
"Glimsparke you want to help me tell the story," Amber called
"Would I, yes I would love to!" Glimsparke cheered as he scrambled over
"Okay I'll start, we made camp in the mountains. Little Lu watched over Rell as Glimsparke and Sully made their way to the Hozen village. I set up my sniper rifle on one smaller mountain, I had to strain my eyes just trying to read Sully lips. Thanks to Glimsparke he gestured towards the Hozen who were stationed outside the village. I started to take out the guards as they made their way to the huts," Amber started as she looked down at Glimsparke
"Oh, is it my turn? Uhh, we started to plant explosive barrels around the surrounding huts. Sully started to grumble some profanity as we laid the barrels down. I rushed through my bag to find the walking explosive that I had conjured up just for the Hozen. I planted a few of those around the huts and parts of the village as I saw orcs talking to a very large hozen. I could not quite catch what they were saying. I made a note on who they looked like then I made a quick run towards Sully and was dancing. I told him that we needed to get going. Amber covered our escape," Glimsparke grinned. As he turned around to walk back to what he was working on.
"Alright you, time for bed," Manlan chimed
"Excuse me, what about the orc or the hozen there's still plenty of thing that need to be done," I protested
"And it is almost 10 o'clock at night and you need sleep," Manlan disclosed as he looked at the sky.
"I need sleep," I addressed
"Yes, you do you are exhausted I can see it," Manlan added
"I'm not tired," I growled
"Yes, you are, you are so exhausted. You can barely keep your eyes open," Manlan soothed as he gently grabbed my shoulder to turn me around
"Oh no, I-" I was about to say when I yawned mid sentence. Ari wagged his tail as he saw Manlan and I walk but to our bags,
"See even Ari I tired," Manlan prompted as he pointed down where Ari was laying down.
"I hate you," I yawned as I took out my bedroll
"Yea, I'm aware," Manlan chuckled as he pulled out another pillow. He handed it up almost like to offer it to me
"No thank you I have one," I said sleepily, Ari stood up to move around me. Manlan nodded as he placed the pillow back in his bag. Ari flopped down with a sigh and slowly closed his eyes. I slipped into my bedroll, and I hesitated as I closed my eyes as well.
