"Big Sis, can I have some vinegar?"

Brûlée startled, knocking her coffee all over the report she'd been writing in the process. Anana was staring up at her with wide, innocent eyes. That little girl could be awfully stealthy sometimes.

Brûlée took a deep breath, ignoring the ruin of her desk for the moment. "Of course, dear. What do you need it for?"

"Something I'm cooking."

Anana did not elaborate. Perhaps it's a surprise for someone, Brûlée thought. She looked to her desk; everything was already soaked anyway, and the papers would be less of a pain to dispose of once dry.

"Well, let's go get that for you."

"Paprika, I need bleach."

Paprika didn't look up from her book. "Hey, Auntie. Good to see you too, Auntie."

"Paprika, I need bleach," Anana repeated much less sweetly.

Paprika rolled her eyes and sighed, finally looking at her grandmother's precious baby. "What the hell do you need bleach for?"

"To clean."

"Since when do you do your own cleaning? Just use soap."

Anana pouted. "I need it for blood."

Paprika groaned. "Oh my god, I'm not dealing with this. Go bother literally anyone else."

Anana stalked off, muttering under her breath. Good riddance.

"Hey, do you know where the wine is?"

It took Portnoy longer than it probably should have to remember the little girl's name, considering she was apparently one of Big Mom's favorite children. "Aren't you a bit young for that, Anana?"

"I'm not going to drink it," Anana said, looking at him like he was an idiot.

"What are you going to use it for then?"

Anana let out the most put-upon sigh he'd ever heard from a seven-year-old. "Just help me find it."

Portnoy hesitated. He didn't spend enough time on Whole Cake Island itself to know where anything was, and he was already baking cupcakes for Big Mom's dinner. They were going to be ready soon, probably not leaving enough time to help Anana search for anything.

"I'm sorry, sweetheart, I don't know where it would be. I can help you find it after I finish making these for Mama, alright?"

Anana stomped her foot. "I don't have time for that! Just get someone else to do it and help me look!"

Wouldn't it make more sense for you to just ask someone else? Portnoy didn't want to risk getting in trouble for arguing with her, though, so he resigned himself to missing out on the opportunity to impress Big Mom and left to fetch someone to foist his baking off on as quickly as possible.

Pudding rushed towards the source of the sudden commotion—the quarters for the older grandchildren—praying she reached it before anything too disastrous happened. What she wouldn't give for a single boring day in this family...

"Someone needs to control that—" There was a horrible, wheezing cough, the voice so hoarse she couldn't even recognize who it was. "—fucking brat! She tried to—to—" More coughing.

"Someone air out that damn room before the gas spreads!" Cracker yelled. "And you, calm down."

"Calm down? Calm dow—" More coughing.

Stop trying to talk, idiot, Pudding thought wearily as she rounded the corner. The scene she encountered was thankfully not as bad as she expected.

Cracker was covering his nose and trying, in vain, to shoo away a crowd of siblings and nieces and nephews and in-laws who were crowded around Paprika's room. Paprika sat curled in on herself, breathing erratically. There was a foul chemical smell in the air that burned her eyes and nose.

"What happened here?" Pudding demanded loudly, drawing every eye to her.

Cracker sagged in relief. "Anana just went a little too far with a prank."

"She released some kind of gas in my room," Paprika wheezed.

"That's... a problem," Pudding said, rubbing her temples. "I'll see about redirecting her to something less... dangerous."

"That's a good idea," Cracker said, thinking deeply. "What about woodworking?"

"What about punishing her? She tried to kill me!"

"You two should leave the thinking to me," Pudding said tiredly. Mama would throw a fit if she heard about Anana being punished, no matter what she did. "Paprika, go stay in your brother's room until we get yours fixed up. Everyone who isn't going to help with that, please return to whatever you were doing before."

This was going to be a long day...

[AN: Portnoy is an NPC from One Piece Odyssey I swiped for this, but as I have yet to play that I have no idea what he's actually like. Paprika is supposed to be Katakuri's kid, but that never came up here.]
