HARRY POTTER AND THE CORELLIAN SECTOR

This is a crossover between Harry Potter and the Star Wars universe. I accept the three original Star Wars films, some of the prequels and most of Legends. The First Order and the three sequels are aberrations that will eventually be eradicated. This version of the story is mine, as are any OCs, I create, and is AUish. There's not much of Harry Potter in the story. I certainly don't own Harry Potter or the Star Wars Universe. They are the creations of JK Rowling and George Lucas, respectively.

Obi Wan talked to his Master Qui Gon Jinn.

"Master, I saw a Muun on the screen young Hydrus was looking at before we took off."

"He's an interesting boy. He pegged us right away. The handmaiden has taken him in hand. I expect she'll do the same for Anakim. I'm testing his midichlorian levels."

"The Council will not approve, Master. They will not let you apprentice another Jedi."

"Is that a way of telling me that they will not let you test for Mastery?"

"Yes, Master."

"You're more than ready, Obi Wan." Qui Gon Jinn placed a hand on Obi Wan's shoulder. "It will work out. You'll see."

Harry or Hydrus was talking with C3PO. The droid was moaning that it had no coating. It was naked and exposed. It was most humiliating. Harry tried English on the droid. It was not one of the six million forms of communication the droid knew. Anakin Skywalker had made both droids. What were the odds? Harry wondered that, too. The R2-D2 unit had been sold by Waldo. Harry suspected that would have been C3PO's fate, too.

Harry wandered about the ship. He needed to be alone. He could feel something or someone back under his scar. It was connected to the lightsaber he had caught in the Pit. Harry felt he was right in the middle of something. The Trade Federation had expected an easy victory. The Naboo had not surrendered. Two Jedi who had been sent to investigate, but investigate what? Who had ordered the Queen's yacht sabotaged? The Queen was certainly not what he expected a Queen to be. Perhaps Palpatine thought the same. Why was she pretending to be a handmaiden? No-one paid any attention to her. She could move where she wanted. Talk with whomever she wanted. A good strategy. It had one glaring weakness that she could not act without revealing herself. If he could spot that the handmaiden was Queen Padme Amidala, others could too. Captain Panaka of the Royal Guard would already know.

In the films he'd watched, Luke Skywalker's parents had been Queen Padme Amidala who had died at childbirth and Anakin Skywalker who became Palpatine's apprentice, Lord Vader or rather Darth Vader. What made Palpatine think he could trust a Skywalker? C3PO and R2-D2 were Luke's droids. Were the Skywalkers a force using family? The Jedi had been destroyed, almost, (how many times had that happened?) all those who would not turn, apart from Yoda, of unknown race, and over 900 years old. And Obi Wan, who lived on Tatooine. Both were living in the bubble created by Dark Jedi who had died there or Sith. Harry was not sure if Dark Jedi and Sith were synonymous. The movies used the terms interchangeably.

Harry had interrogated the ship computers. It would take about 8 days to travel nearly 15000 light years from Naboo to Coruscant. Tatooine was over 22 and a half days from Coruscant and just under 69000 light years. Galactic history had not been something Harry had studied. Corellian history, he had. Corellia had a monarchy until 100 years previously. They had ruled since the founding of the Galactic Republic 25000 years earlier. They had been defended by the force users of Corellia, the Green Knights. They had been eradicated and the Diktats had taken over. The Dynasty had been that of the House of Solo. They ruled alone. The Bel-Iblis had been one of the Houses that had risen against the Solo dynasty. The Solo family had not been wiped out, though, as Maken San Solo's coup proved. They were still considered dangerous.

Harry's attempt to find solitude were thwarted when he found the 'handmaiden' Padme in his cabin.

"Hydrus?" Padme began. "Just who are you? You spoke in a language a protocol droid does not recognise and you definitely do not know Galactic Republic history."

"Padme, I am 7 years old. I am Corellian, which means I learn about my planet and my family history before that of the Galaxy. My brother has been thrown into the deep end of Republic politics. He's a Senator with 4 years less experience than any Senator Corellia has ever sent before. He's gaps in his knowledge, too.

I believe the Senate needs to remove the Special Interest groups that currently have seats. I believe any attempt to remove the Trade Federation from Naboo will fail. The other Special Interests will act to defend them. They all have to go."

"That does not answer my question about that language," Padme said.

"We all have our secrets," Harry answered. "Even handmaidens to a Queen."

"I do wish you'd trust me, Hydrus," Padme said.

"How's this for trust? Every time I hear that Gungan talk, I want to introduce him to the nearest airlock."

"The Queen wishes to use him in her speech to the Senate to show that Naboo is unified."

"Once he speaks and says 'mesa exile' that stratagem goes out the airlock."

Padme laughed. "There is that. I'll leave you to your studies." She left. Harry pondered what she had said. Trying English on that droid had been a mistake.

"Okay, person in my head, you and I need to talk, now."

"I'm a Jedi, or was," a female voice in his head said. "I lived 3962 years ago. The Jedi Order split again and the Mandaloreans joined the Sith in a surprise attack on Coruscant. The Jedi Temple was destroyed. I worked there and got many documents dealing with the Order's History out.

I was sent on a mission to the Sith controlled world of Tatooine. I got discovered and pursued. I fell into the Pit and died. I refused to go into the Force and stayed. I forgot my name. I felt so angry."

"Anger from a Jedi. These Jedi do not do emotions," Harry said. "Do the Jedi split or fall often?"

"Split and fall. They are the first targets in war. Over 2500 years before the Republic was formed, 12 Jedi turned dark and went to Korriban, home to the Red Sith."

"Was one named Skywalker," Harry interrupted.

"Yes, why is that important? Then about 5000 years ago there was another split and the Order got almost wiped out. It was rebuilt and nearly died again during the Great Hyperspace War. Korriban was destroyed, again. The Sith were not all destroyed, however, and attacked again in the year I died. I do not know anything about what happened after."

"Did the Sith do anything useful?" Harry asked.

"According to our records, the exiles created a plague that targeted the Rakatans, a particularly unpleasant race of beings and drove them from what would become Republican space."

"That's useful," Harry agreed. "Your tone indicates that you do not believe your records."

"They are the enemies of the Jedi. To believe they did anything for the Jedi is untenable in our Order."

"I shall ask the Jedi Master about the Jedi Order History in the morning. There are two Skywalkers in the party. That's why I asked."

"Ask him about the Code the Jedi follow. "

"Okay."

Harry then got to his studies. The Corellian economy had crashed with the fall of the monarchy. The recession had now lasted a century with no end in sight. Harry wondered if the texts had it the wrong way round. The economy crashed, the monarchy had been ended and the recession had lasted ever since, made more sense to Harry. What else could have caused the support for the monarchy to plummet, except for a collapse of the economy?

Harry was trying to answer, if the rebuilding of the planetary battle fleet would trigger a restoration of the economy. That was not a question he was in a position to answer. He knew how much it would cost and how long it would take to build. The economic models provided mixed answers as to how the economy would respond to the stimulus.

Harry turned his attention to his magical studies. He enjoyed that. It brought him closer to his parents. Harry didn't know his magic was not supposed to be strong or strong enough to do proper magic.

Next morning, according to Harry's internal body clock, Harry did his morning ablutions, had breakfast and then went into the main concourse. Everybody else was already there.

"Morning, all," Harry said. He sat.

"Master Jedi, I'd like to know more about your Order."

"Ask away, Hydrus," the Jedi Master answered.

"How was the Jedi Order founded?"

"We came into being on the planet Ossus about 25000 years ago."

"And before?"

We started on Tython, a deep core world. We were the Jeda'ii. The planet had two moons, Ashla and Bogan. We divided into two factions. The Ashla were Light and the Bogan were Dark. Eventually the Light prevailed, but the planet became less than ideal for life. We have not been back permanently, since."

"Where did the Bogan go?"

"No idea. We haven't seen them since," the Jedi Master said.

"Deeper Core then," Harry suggested.

"It's possible," Obi Wan interjected.

"What about the Mandalorean War?" Harry asked.

"That was 3962 years ago. The Jedi Temple was destroyed. Coruscant was occupied briefly by the Dark Jedi and Sith. Ulic-Qel Droma lead the Dark Jedi; he was a warlord in the Empress Teta system. Exar Kar lead the Sith from the area around a moon of Yavin 4. The Mandalorens were lead by Mandalore the Indomitable. The Republic won and destroyed Korriban again. We thought the Sith were done. We went to the Empress Teta system and found no trace of any Dark Jedi."

"How many Jedi did you send to the Empress Teta system?"

"We sent a Jedi Knight."

"One guy against a planet that had lots of Dark Jedi. Should have sent a fleet's worth." Harry was contemptuous. Qui Gon Jinn ignored Harry's outburst.

"300 years later the Sith struck again. They took Coruscant and held it for like 30 years. The Treaty of Coruscant gave us Coruscant again, but established a Sith Empire. There was a Cold War for around 1200 years before the Sith attacked again. Another surprise attack. Another near wipeout of the Jedi Order. Once more Coruscant fell.

2241 years ago, the Republic tottered on the brink of total collapse. Jarga the Hutt had been Jedi Grandmaster for 200 years. He acted to save the Republic. He became Supreme Chancellor. For 1000 years, he and the Order held the Republic together. Jedi owned worlds and established dynasties. For the most part, Jedi worlds were recently liberated from the Sith. After Jarga died, a civilian Supreme Chancellor was elected. He was the direct ancestor of our current Supreme Chancellor Valorum. The Jedi Order maintained a 50% stake in running the Republic. The Sith were destroyed at the Battle of the Light as were most of the Jedi who had gone to war. A Corellian, Lord Beretheon and one other Jedi Lord, survived The Ruusan Reformation restructured the Republic and the Jedi Order. I follow the Old Code, not the one introduced at that time."

"What is the new Code?" Harry asked.

Qui Gon Jinn recited the new Code. The voice in his skull exploded.

"The cowards who would not go to war and the celibates introduced a milksop version of the Code." Harry decided to name his voice, Krista. She seemed to like it.

"About 400 years ago a Sith revealed himself and told us about the Sith Law of the Two instituted by Darth Bane. The other Sith killed him, we presume and went hidden again. A Darth by the name of Jinn revealed the Rule of the Two to us just over a century ago."

"Are Sith and Dark Jedi synonymous?

"No. The Dark Jedi want Jedi recruits. The Sith want to exterminate us." Obi Wan looked shocked. Qui Gon Jinn looked at him, like he should have known that.

"The Council holds that there are no Sith in existence." It was clear that Qui Gon Jinn did not share the Jedi Council's opinion.

Harry was shown how to use a blaster. He shot Jar Jar Binks dead, by accident. (Sorry to anyone who likes the character. ) Well, not really by accident. There was something off about Jar Jar Binks. At least, to Harry. Harry was able to say/indicate that it was an accident to everyone else. Jar Jar Binks was sent out the airlock.

"Perhaps, Hydrus, you should keep away from blasters. Until, you've learnt how to use them properly," The Queen said.

"Good idea," Harry, readily, agreed. Shmi Skywalker, who did not miss much, noticed Harry making the blaster safe, before putting it down. So much for killing Jar Jar Binks being an accident.

"Who did I run into on Tatooine?" Harry asked. He did not point out the obvious that Tatooine was not en route to Coruscant.

"That was a Dathomir male. They are rare off Dathomir."

"He seemed to know who we all were." Harry was pretending to be the dead Hydrus. Perhaps the Sith had a hand in the ruination of Corellia and wanted Hydrus to stay dead. Harry was already assuming that the man on Tatooine was a Sith.

"We got away. That's what matters," Qui Gon Jinn said. Harry did not think he was right. The Jedi Master knew more than he was saying. Next time, Harry met him, the Sith would die.

Harry had to exercise with the Jedi lightsaber. He had to keep the voice in his head happy. He chatted to Shmi about her life on Tatooine. Anakin used the training helmet to start his Jedi training. The Naboo three kept themselves to themselves. Harry reckoned they were planning their strategy with the Senate.

Harry wrote up his answer to rebuilding the Corellian battlefleet. He said he'd do it, but the outcome was by no means certain. He did say the economic models all agreed that the recession would be over. The next ten years should see economic damage from over a century of decline repaired.

The trip to Coruscant was a good one. Not quite the happy team they'd been before Harry had killed Jar Jar Binks, but trust was being rebuilt, slowly. Harry got to work the blaster, properly.

Queen Amidala was attacked as she left the yacht. The Jedi got one each of the 4 mercenaries who attacked them. Panaka shot another one and Harry killed one. Palpatine remained uninjured and did not flinch. Of course, he set it up. Unfortunately, Harry could not 'accidentally' kill the Senator. Harry knew he was a Sith Lord and there was no way Harry was ready to face one of those.

Shmi, the Naboo three and the droids went off with Palpatine to the Naboo Senatorial suite. The Jedi examined the corpses. They and Anakin and Harry went off to meet the Jedi. Anakin measured 27000 midichlorinates. That was very high. Obi Wan expressed shock that it was that high. Harry kept silent about his measurement. Didn't mean he wasn't thinking it and the voice in his head, heard him.

Harry felt extremely nervous about standing before the Jedi Council. Anakin looked supremely confident. The boy was too old to be taken as a trainee. Harry thought Anakin was in for a disappointment.

The Jedi Council Grandmaster Yoda was speaking. He had mentioned that he was over 800 years old. Harry wondered why he had never bothered learning how to speak in complete sentences. His mouth was about to bypass his brain. Somehow, Harry kept silent.

Anakin would not be trained as a Jedi. Obi Wan Kenobi was not going to be given his Mastery trails and Qui Gon Jinn would not be appointed to the Council after the retirement of one of its members. That was too much for Harry.

"I am Hydrus Bel Iblis, brother to Garm Bel Iblis, the Senator from Corellia. Anakin is a Skywalker. His count is 27000. So what if he is nine and you start training at 6. Anakin will catch up, quickly. Obi Wan is more than ready for his Mastery trials. You would be wise to have the advice of Qui Gon Jinn available to you on your Council.

Grandmaster Yoda has lead the Council for over 800 years. Grandmaster Jarga the Hutt he is not. He kept the Republic together, when all others had lost heart. You've no idea what species Yoda is and he cannot speak in formed sentences. He's kept the milksop Code and prohibited Jedi from marrying.

I got chased all over the sky by a Sith Apprentice on Tatooine. There is a Sith Lord on Coruscant. The Sith can hide themselves from you. Your complacency is misplaced. This incident on Naboo is the move to place the Sith Lord into the Chancellorship. Whatever that Lord plans will not be for your benefit."

A messenger chose that moment to enter. Mace Windu laughed.

"Your brother has come to take you away. He has more sense than you do. What do you feel for the Jedi Order, now?"

"Contempt," Harry said. He turned and stormed out of the Jedi Council Chamber.

All Garm said was, "Hello, Brother. Causing trouble, I see."

There was ice between the two brothers on the walk and flight back to the Corellian Senatorial suite. Once inside, Garm spoke.

"I'm wrathful with you, little brother. I am negotiating with them to send Jedi to restart the Green Knights and you go and insult them in their own Council Chamber. You used the money I sent with you to buy a slave who was not worth a tenth of what you paid."

"Shmi is a Skywalker."

"Is a that supposed to mean something?" Garm asked.

"Back before the Galactic Republic was formed, the Light Jedi split. 12 of them defected to the Sith. One was a Skywalker."

"You think the Skywalkers are Sith?"

"Yeah, at least some of the time."

"Do the Jedi know?"

"They should, Garm, they should. They've been lead for over 800 years by this little green thing and follow a far inferior Code."

"Yoda is a powerful and very well-respected Jedi."

"Call me primitive, Garm, but I like to know where someone comes from before entrusting such a responsibility to someone whom no-one knows where he's from."

"You did not have to insult him. Makes my job more difficult."

"Your job is difficult?" Harry smirked as he said this. "Here's the report on rebuilding the battlefleet."

Garm leafed through 20 pages of text. "Why paper, Hydrus? No-one uses paper anymore."

"Call me old fashioned," Harry said. "Naboo wants the Senate to act. I think they'll move to remove the Supreme Chancellor. I think we should remove the special interest Senators from the Senate. The Trade Federation can act with impunity, because of their presence in the Senate. All the Special Interest groups will vote with them."

"You might be small, little brother, but you think big. I'll have you with me, when I attend the Senate. Just remember you cannot speak, Hydrus."

"Okay, Garm."

The brothers ate together. As they did, news came through that a pirate captain named Relok had taken 3 of the inhabited worlds in the deep core system of Ghandahar. There went any chance that the Judicial Fleet would be sent against the Trade Federation in Naboo.

The Corellian delegation was not happy that they were being lead by a teenager and his even younger brother. Tomorrow's Senate meeting would reveal a great deal.

The Senate was convened and Valorum opened the Session.

The Ghandahar Senator was on his feet demanding the fleet was sent to their aid. Valorum demurred, stating that the Naboo delegation had called the Session into Order. The Naboo delegation demanded that the Trade Federation withdrew its forces from Naboo and paid damages. Valorum started by saying that would happen, until one of the allied Senators of the Trade Federation pointed out that the Senate could only empower a Commission.

Harry nudged Garm. Garm rose to speak.

"Supreme Chancellor, how long would this Commission take to report back?"

"Two years," Valorum said. Corellia still held the floor.

"That is longer than Corellia believes it should take, but the real problem is the presence of the Special Interest Senators and their employees holding Senate seats from worlds. Corellia moves that all Special Interest Senators be removed from this Senate and their employees prohibited from holding Senate seats from individual worlds."

"Seconded." The Naboo Senator had spoken. Palpatine must believe the motion would fail. There followed several hours of debate. When the vote was taken the overwhelming majority amongst Senators from Worlds managed to scrape the majority vote needed to remove the Special Interest Senators from the Senate.

Valorum was pleased to make the motion a Bill and then an Act. Other Bills stripping Special Interest of tax breaks and rights over Sectors were removed were debated and the Bills became Acts. Tax cases against those Special Interests could now proceed.

Senator Palpatine raised a glass of something in the Corellian delegation's direction. Garm inclined his head. Palpatine would have another opportunity to seize power later. Probably more than one. The failure of the Judicial fleet against Relok might be enough. Valorum would stack the Commission with people who disliked the Trade Federation. If they did not rule against them and be able to enforce its decision, Valorum would fall.

Valorum had secretly sent the Jedi Council member Sifo-Dyas to negotiate with the Pyke Syndicate. He wanted their aid in fighting the Black Sun syndicate and not launch a gang war on Coruscant. They were the most powerful criminal organisation outside of the Hutt cartels. Valorum would send his aid, Silman, with the Jedi. Harry knew nothing about this.

Sifo-Dyas gave up his Council seat and departed with Silman, without talking with his good friend Count Dooku, who was busy managing affairs on his world. It was one he owned, by inheritance and this was creating strains in his being a Jedi.

Harry's rant before the Jedi Council had tipped the balance. Sifo-Dyas had used his last speech before the Jedi Council to cause votes in favour of Qui Gon Jinn becoming a Council member. Kenobi getting his trails and Anakin becoming a Jedi. He also persuaded the Council to allow Jedi to marry and to own worlds. His visions had suggested Jedi not controlling their own navies and armies as a cause of their losing a war against an enemy that was cloaked as to its identity. Sifo-Dyas saw Harry as the vindication of his visions. Sifo-Dyas packed his stuff and left for Oba Diah with Silman.

Harry and Garm were eating an evening meal.

"Garm, I need you to do two things. The first is to find out if any prominent Muun have died this year or recently and who they are or were."

"That's an easy one, Hydrus."

"Perhaps, the next one will cause you more trouble, brother. A Toydarian slaver by the name of Waldo has a junkyard on Tatooine. He's got 6 YT1000, a YT1300 and a couple of Rendili built ships – a Frigate and a Destroyer. I'd like for you to buy them, get them fixed up and crewed."

"That's considerably more challenging. I'd have to go and deal with this personally. I'm a Senator."

"You go deal with it and I'll be the acting Senator. We need to get the battlefleet rebuilding started as soon as possible. You have to go back to Corellia to get that started, anyway."

"Leave you in charge?"

"Why not? You've a tutor here. I can use it, instead. Besides, I know you. You want to get away for a short while. You're a General, Hero of Corellia. You need to keep your name before the Corellian people, doing things."

"Quoting my own words back at me, is a low blow, brother. Okay, I'll do it. Don't give away Corellia, whilst I am gone."

Harry smirked. Garm looked the happiest Harry had seen him since he got to Coruscant.

Harry was now the youngest ever acting Senator. In the next session, Harry swore the Oath of Loyalty to the Republic. He listened to the debates as they progressed. He voted as the Delegation indicated. He thought Garm would have voted the same way. He laughed as one Senator argued why his world should keep getting subsidies. The Senator attacked him, for being 7. Harry indicated that he'd like to reply. Valorum allowed this.

"The Senator attacks me for being 7. He was that age once. Perhaps he was idealistic. The Senate is not trying to stop all subsidies. It would like enough money to increase the size of the Judicial Fleet so we won't get held to ransom by the fleet of a pirate Captain. Last session, the Senate voted to rid itself of the Special Interest Senators. This session, it should vote to end all subsidies. And remove corrupt Senators. I heard many on Naboo say that the Senate would not defend them, because the Senate is corrupt. My brother is not corrupt. It makes my blood boil to see him tainted by the allegation. The Republic has nothing that can take on a Lucrehulk and the Trade Federation knows this. I am sure the major shipyards of the Republic are just waiting to build ships that can. They're just waiting for the Senate to order their construction and the money to pay them."

"Seconded," the Chandrilla Senator, Mon Mothma, said to support Harry's motion. The Senate proceeded to remove every Senator who had proven to be corrupt. That included the Ghandahar Senator. Information to that effect was sent to the Admiral in charge of the Judicial Fleet. This changed things. It explained why there had been little information given other than a pirate had attacked.

Harry did not get to know what the former Senator revealed under questioning. He did get to meet the Senator from Muunilinst. Harry did learn that the only Muun of note to die was Hego Demask. Harry saw how much he had left. He had no heirs, at least no family. Harry's comment that someone was now very, very rich drew a laugh. His comment that the other bankers must be very worried drew a scowl. Harry knew that Palpatine was the man who had inherited the money. Demask was the previous Sith Lord. Harry was able to find out where the man had died. A trip there was on the cards. Provided Garm secured their little fleet.

Palpatine was working to control the crime syndicates in the Republic. He had control of its bankers. Palpatine was also left wondering how a seven-year-old boy could change the Jedi Order and deliver the Senate from those who most damaged its influence in just two sessions. There was now going to be a peaceful solution to the Ghandahar Crisis. Palpatine could not send Darth Maul to keep it going. He would have to pull Maul from his attempt to make himself head of all crime on Coruscant and send him to Naboo, just to make sure the Trade Federation did not get any ideas, above their station. If things did not go his way, he could be elected into office by the Senate, in four years. Would that not be something? The fools voting in their destroyer.

Garm Bel Iblis was en route to Corellia. He'd take back a team to evaluate each of the ships that Hydrus had mentioned. He'd also drop off the plan to rebuild the fleet with the new Diktat. He'd set in motion a plan to destroy the San Solo family for their murder of Hydrus. Whilst he was in flight two things happened, before he arrived at Corellia.

San Solo, Maken was arguing with the leader of the Pyke Syndicate supplied mercenaries. Maken was saying that Hydrus was alive and a hero. The leader was assuring Maken that they had killed him as per their contract. Maken was accusing them of being soft and refusing to kill children. The mercenaries proceeded to kill Maken and all his family, including young Thrackan. The mercenaries then left Corellia.

Maken's heir was Jonash Solo, who worked in the shipyards under the name of Ovan. His wife was named Jaina. The electors then chose Jonash as the next Diktak. When Garm entered the Diktak's palace, he was shocked to find Jonash Solo standing before him. Garm handed him the report Harry had written. Jonash sat at his desk and read it.

"I can get this worked up properly and present it. This is something that we can do. It's good work, Garm Bel Iblis."

"Thank you, Diktat. The Senate voted all the Special Interest Senators out and arrested all the corrupt Senators. This something to be welcomed. The Jedi Council agreed to take my request to help us restart the Green Knights 'under consideration'."

"Who have left as acting Senator?"

"My brother."

"Who is 7?"

"He's the author of that report you just praised. He's also behind the actions the Senate has taken in its last two sessions."

"He's a bright boy. Without his re-emergence I would not be sitting in this chair. I'd be in Shadow of my Cousin."

Not for the first time, Garm wondered what other changes directly or indirectly the boy who had turned up in his garden would have on the Galaxy at large. Garm had meetings set up to recruit the skeleton crews to man the fleet he'd buy, if the surveys they did came back positive. Garm suspected that Hydrus wanted to use them to supply Naboo with food and weapons. It was no way near as easy as the holomovies made out.

On Naboo, the droid army had occupied all of the human settlements, not just those that were part of the Kingdom of Naboo. The mining reports stated that there was none of the mineral that the report that the Trade Federation had paid serious money for. The Viceroy, Nate Gunray, ordered a full planetary survey done. If there was something here, the Trade Federation would extract it. Searching the estate of the Naboo Senator had found nothing at all. Palpatine clearly did not use it. Invading Naboo for actions of the Senator had yielded nothing. Thus far.

The presence of the Sith Darth Maul was also something Nate Gunray did not want bandied about. Having Sith connections was something else that could turn people against the Trade Federation. It would definitely trigger a response from the Jedi. That, the Viceroy, definitely did not want. Letting the Jedi know there was a Sith on Naboo was a way to distance the Trade Federation from them. If the Jedi did not deal with the Sith, Nate Gunray was well aware that he was signing his own death warrant.

In the Senate, Hydrus announced that Corellia could not support a Bill in its current form that despite being good for Corellia was significantly bad for 4 worlds in the Corellian Sector. Hydrus was reminding Senators that they served their Sector and not just the planet that was the homeworld. The Bill was defeated in its current form. Members of the Delegation that had ties with the group back in Corellia that would have benefitted greatly notified their paymasters. Those paymasters took the view that something had to be done about Hydrus Bel Iblis.
