Our heroes have arrived at their destination safely with the Olympic Flame and the Phryges accompanying them. After resting for a day, they got up and resumed tehir journey. They first visited the Cathedral of Saint-Etienne, one of the tallest cathedrals in France. They paid their respects there before resuming their journey, in order to receive blessings along the way. When they are done, they had lunch at Place de Louis, where they booked a one-way trip to Saint Dizier just in case they need t resume their journey.
When they visited the Musée La Cour d'Or, our heroes learned history here about the French history before it became a republic. Its parts were once ruled by the Gallo-Romans, with details explained from the medieval through the Renaissance until the republic days of France. There was also the fine arts section where it shows the paintings of Renaissance and even architectural structures of ancient times of yore.
"Never knew that your heritage is so rich, Madeline! And you guys are great in knowing that history too!" Pepito complimented.
"Thanks, your culture is worth exploring too! It never hurts to learn different cultures and gain respect from one another!" Asterix replied back. "Now then, let's go for another destination!
Just when they were about to leave, a villainous man in a racing suit approached them in a dastardly manner along with his dog. His dog was an unidentified breed, yet still evil like his master.
"Aren't you supposed to be on the racetrack today? Why did you skip the race?" asked Papa Smurf asked.
"The name is Dick Dastardly, one of the most really rotten villains ever! And this is Muttley, and don't mess with him because he can bite! You all filthy goody-two shoes better hand over that Olympic Flame so me and Muttley are gonna beat you the punch!" proclaimed the villain with a dastardly whiplash.
"Pfft, not when we beat you in a race! We bet that you will definitely lose this one!" Pepito snapped back.
"Oh yeah?!" Dick Dastardly was infuriated. "Then we shall see who gets to reach the German Gate! The losers have to hand over the Olympic Flame to the winner! See you at the finish line, dumbheads!"
Boss – Dick Dastardly and Muttley
The heroes and the Phryges boarded an empty bus, and they raced after Dick Dastardly and Muttley. Dick Dastardly and Muttley threw multiple objects at them in order to obstruct or slow them down. Madeline told one of the Phryges to come up with something to outsmart Dick Dastardly, so the Phryges gestured Pepito and Olivia to join in their plan to stop Dick Dastardly from winning.
"You're too slow, bratty bozos! Once I reach the finish line, the Olympic Flame will be ours!" Dick Datsradly taunted.
"Can't we apply the speed yet?" asked Smurfette.
"Not when we have to stop them or make their plans backfire!" Papa Smurf replied back. Gaulois was driving with full concentration and he had to reach the finish line before Dick Dastardly does so.
Before they could reach the German Gate at the finish line, Dick Dastardly and Muttley were full of glee about their plan going to work successfully, since they have installed a booby trap earlier at hand. However, they were in shock when they saw their booby trap being undone and saw their vehicle slipped off by grease, causing them to ram into explosive crates set by them, exploding.
"Drat, drat and double drat! Muttley! You filthy flea-bitten hound! This is all your fault!" Dick Datsrdly yelled. Muttley snickered while Dastardly fumbled while flying off into the sky with a twinkle.
"Cock-a-doodle-doo! Sacre bleu to those two!" Gaulois taunted as he reached the German Gate. Pepito, Olivia and the Phryges came out unscathed, revealing a magnet with tacks on it.
"Wait a second, how did you guys do it?" asked Papa Smurf.
"Tell them." asked Gaulois.
"At first glance, we knew that Dick Dastardly was a mean cheater. He never plays nice and wants to win everything! During the race, we knew he would cheat so we called Pepito and his friends to help. We found out that he was using tacks to flatten the tires, so we used a magnet to stop his evil plans! That leaves only the grease, and we even moved the explosive crates to the area where they will crash into!" Pepito explained.
"Pepito, you are a genius!" Getafix complimented.
"Thanks, they call me a prankster which is on the good side for everything! I used to be a bad hat before, but I changed my heart thanks to Madeline! She was the one who helped me, so I have to thank her too!"
"Aww…. thanks, Pepito!" Madeline was blushing.
Saint Dizier looks to be where our heroes are headed towards along with the Phryges, with new experiences awaiting them in the eastern French region.
