A couple of minutes have passed since Lincoln arrived in the world of Pokemon, specifically in a place called Wedgehurst. Lincoln already knows how he got here, since earlier he had made a deal with an all-powerful being in order to save his father from serious jail time, his family home, and his family from ruin.
All Lincoln had to do was go on various quests throughout different worlds of the Multiverse to make it happen, but the problem was he didn't know what these quests were. Lincoln figured that the celestial would not make this easy, which would just make it all the more entertaining for the person who did all of this in the first place. Lincoln couldn't complain since now because of his actions, his father and family were going to be okay. He didn't know if they were going to be okay without him, but he was sure they were going to persevere.
... After all... Louds are strong!
"Okay, so what exactly am I supposed to do here."said Lincoln before he felt the surge of information going to his head.
Suddenly, he knew all a lot about this place, including the mysterious creatures called Pokemon. The information was a bit overwhelming at first, giving Lincoln a headache. But it quickly dissipated a few seconds later as he realized what this place was. Pokémon were basically powerful creatures that could use the powers of nature like fire, water, grass, electricity, etc. If that wasn't crazy enough, apparently, humans of this world can capture and train these pokémon creatures for a competitive battle. Well, part of him feels like this is something that should be illegal. The other part feels like different worlds and different customs. Plus, according to the information in his head, Pokemon was completely cool with it... So whatever!
"I wonder what I need to do in this world in order to move on to the next one. The sooner I complete these quests, the sooner I can see my family again. Now all I need is a Pokemon, but how on Earth am I going to get one?"Lincoln inquired to himself.
He wasn't particularly fast... He wasn't particularly strong... He was at least the second smartest when it came to the Loud family... Arguably... But how were his street smarts going to get him out of this mess.
That is when he spotted a Pokemon nearby on the route he was taking to Wedgehurst.
The Pokemon in question is an insectoid Pokémon. It has five body segments and is covered in sensitive setae that it uses to collect information about its environment. The dorsal half of its ovular head is a dark blue, and the ventral half is beige. The Pokemon's large, reflective eyes resemble glasses. It has a small mouth and eyebrow-like markings that give it a perpetually surprised expression.
"You look a lot like my friend Clyde."Lincoln couldn't help but say to himself as he went over to look at the Pokemon that reminded him of his best friend.
A couple of moments later, Lincoln was standing in front of the pokémon and wondered what it was called.
"Ah, a Blipbug. Rare of them to be here at route 1."said someone behind Lincoln.
Lincoln immediately recognized it as an older woman's voice. So he turned around to see an old woman wearing a yellow dress and lab coat approaching him. She appeared to be of advanced age, based on the fact she was using some kind of sophisticated walking stick to move around.
"Ah, I didn't mean to startle you. I was just surprised to see a Blipbug out in the open. Usually it's hard to find them here on route 1."said the old woman, apologizing for startling Lincoln.
"Ah, no.. I'm sorry for being so jumpy. I'm just not used to people sticking up behind me."said Lincoln, as the last person who snuck behind him put him in this mess.
"Oh, where are my manners. Please allow me to introduce myself. I am Professor Magnolia, the local researcher of the mysterious creatures called Pokemon of this region. Would you be so kind as to tell me your name?"inquired Professor Magnolia with a smile.
"My name is Lincoln, Lincoln Loud. I'm actually in the process of trying to become a Pokemon trainer, and I want to make that Blipbug my first Pokemon."spoke Lincoln, looking over at the bug type Pokemon when he said that.
"Well I happen to have a free pokeball with me. Why don't you throw it at that Blipbug and see if you can successfully capture it."said Professor Magnolia, who pulled out a device known as a pokeball and handed it over to Lincoln.
Lincoln at first didn't know what this device was until he looked back into the memories the celestial put into him. That's what he realized that this device was what Pokemon trainers, the people who capture and train Pokemon, used to hold their Pokemon. Lincoln then looked back at the bug type Pokemon and took a deep breath.
"I'm not good at catching or throwing, but let's see how I do."said Lincoln before throwing the pokeball at the bug type Pokemon.
Blipbug was busy eating what appeared to be grass before it noticed the poké ball flying towards it. A few moments later, it was hit in the head by said pokeball before it bounced off and opened up. As soon as the pokeball opened up, it quickly absorbed the pokémon inside. Blipbug was completely absorbed inside before the pokeball closed itself shut and fell to the floor.
Lincoln at Professor Magnolia looked on with anticipation as the pokeball containing the bug type Pokemon began wiggling.
A couple of moments later, the pokeball stop wiggling in a click sound was clearly heard.
"Congratulations, Lincoln Loud. You have just successfully captured a Blipbug."said Professor Magnolia, causing Lincoln to smile as he ran over and picked up the pokeball containing his new pokémon.
"Yes!"shouted Lincoln with joy, glad that he had a new pokémon to call friend.
After all, he didn't want to go on this journey alone.
"Do you have a place to stay? I noticed that you don't seem to be well prepared for someone going on there, Pokemon Journey."said Professor Magnolia, noticing that Lincoln didn't have a backpack or anything to carry things he would need.
"Um... No. In fact, I kind of went on this journey I'll prepare."said Lincoln, deciding then and there to lie as he doubted Professor Magnolia whatever believe the truth in a million years.
Who in their right mind would believe that he was from another world and that he was sending on this journey by an all-powerful being called a celestial? Lincoln knew that would probably land him in what this world would consider a psych ward. And that is the last thing he wanted!
"Oh my, well that is quite a problem. Okay, young man, would you mind a company me home."said Professor Magnolia, surprising Lincoln a bit.
"You're just going to let me live at your house? But you literally just meet me."said Lincoln, wondering if this professor lady had any ulterior motives.
"When you see someone in need, you help them. That's just the right thing to do. That's what my fellow colleague, Professor Kukui of Alola, taught me a long time ago. Seeing as you don't have anywhere else to go, and you appear to be ill-prepared for your journey, the best course of action as a Pokemon professor is to help you out."said Professor Magnolia with a warm smile.
Lincoln almost felt like he was going to tear up at that moment but stopped himself.
This is the first time an adult has shown him some kindness in a while... And he really appreciated it
"Thank you."simply said Lincoln before the professor motions for him to follow her.
About half an hour later, they arrived at a house near the lake on a place called Route 2. Lincoln was amazed by what he saw, and he quickly let out his Blipbug out of its pokeball so he could get to know it better.
"According to my Pokedex, that Blipbug is a male and he has the compound eyes ability. The only movie he knows is struggle bug, but he will eventually learn more moves as he evolves into his next two stages. I suggest you two get to know each other, since I have a feeling you will be the best of friends for a long time."said Professor Magnolia before leaving Lincoln alone with his first Pokemon.
"Um... Hey. I know I caught you out of the blue, and you're probably surprised by what I did. But I have my reasons for adding you to my team. Mainly because you remind me of my best friend, Clyde McBride. You would love to meet him, and hopefully, you will meet him one day. But first, I need your power to help me go through this world and see what it has to offer. I need your help, so do you mind coming along with me?"inquired Lincoln, hoping but the bug type Pokemon would willingly join him in his journey.
"Bug bug bug?"said the bug type Pokemon, looking at the human who caught him with a curious look on his face.
He didn't know what it was about this human, but he had a feeling that this human could be trusted. He wasn't like the other humans who he ran into during their journeys. He was different. There was just something about his aura that screamed different... and Blipbug appeared to like it.
So a couple seconds later, the bug type pokémon jumped on Lincoln's shoulder before he began nuzzling his cheek.
"I guess that means you will come along with me willingly. Welcome to the team, Blipbug."said Lincoln before noticing something going on outside.
He quickly ran outside to see some kind of bird like Pokemon messing with the professor's garden.
The bird like Pokemon in question is a small, birdlike Pokémon that is primarily dark blue, including its wings, tail, back, and part of its head. The lower part of its body and chest is yellow, and it has a plume of black feathers that begins from under its wings to its face, from which a few tufts protrude over its head, giving it a mask-like appearance. It has red eyes with white markings under them. It has small gray legs and feet, each with two toes on the front and one on the back.
"Hey, leave the professor's garden alone!"said Lincoln, who didn't want the professor, is precious vegetables to be taken by this nuisance.
"Rookidee!"said the tiny Bird Pokemon, who did not look happy by the fact that it was interrupted.
"Uh-oh..."said Lincoln before the bird pokémon began chasing him around the garden.
Lincoln was careful not to step on any of the vegetables or flowers, but that was easier said than done with a bird like creature pecking at him every so often.
"Hey, leave me alone!"shouted Lincoln, but the tiny Bird Pokemon would not relent.
Eventually, Blipbug used a struggle bug against the tiny bird Pokemon, pushing it back.
The pokémon calling itself Rookidee did not look happy that it was attacked, so it suddenly began causing it beak to begin glowing before it flew over at Lincoln and his Pokemon.
Lincoln immediately ducked on pure instinct, avoiding getting hit as the tiny bird pokémon hit the stone wall behind it, causing it to stagger before it fell onto the floor.
"Um... Are you okay?"inquired Lincoln, who was not expecting the tiny Bird Pokemon to charge in head first without thinking.
"Well, this is a rare opportunity. Why don't you catch that Pokemon."said Professor Magnolia while walking over to Lincoln.
She then handed him another pokeball.
"Well... Opportunities like this don't come every day."said Lincoln to himself before he kneeled down and placed the pokeball next to the Pokemon called Rookidee.
The pokeball he held immediately opened up and absorbed Rookidee inside. Once the tiny Bird Pokemon had been successfully captured, the pokeball closed up and began wiggling in Lincoln's hand.
A few seconds past before a click sound was clearly heard. This indicated that the tiny Bird Pokemon had been successfully captured.
"Congratulations, Lincoln Loud. You have just successfully captured a Rookidee. According to my Pokedex, this flying type Pokemon is male, and he has a keen eye ability. That means his accuracy will never be lowered."said Professor Magnolia Lincoln, release the tiny Bird Pokemon from the Pokemon to look at it.
"Rookidee..."said the tiny bird Pokemon, wondering what happened before remembering that he hit a wall and he had been captured.
"I know this is a lot for you, but I'm expecting great things from you from now on. You lost by yourself mostly, but at the end of the day, I still won. So I expect the best from you. And hopefully, we'll grow strong together."said Lincoln with a warm smile on his face.
Rookidee appeared annoyed at first before accepting his defeat and jumping on Lincoln's other shoulder.
With Blipbug and Rookidee on both shoulders, Lincoln looked up to the sky just as the sun was beginning to set. This officially marked the first day off his quest.
"Wait for me, family. I'll be home soon."said Lincoln with a determined look on his face, ready to face whatever this celestial had to throw at him.
