Hey guys it sure has been a while. I hope everyone has been well. My health has been all over the place and I'm starting to feel okay enough to sit at a desk for a few hours. That and moving. It was a 2 week drive... one I wasn't supposed to do but circumstances demanded I drive. I'm not sure how scheduling is going to be, but I have NOT abandoned this story. Unfortunately, just so that I don't overwhelm myself too much, the chapters will be a bit shorter. I'll do my best to have natural stopping points but it might get choppy. I'm not sure yet. I'm going to do my best to not have you all wait as long as you have for this chapter as it's been damn near 6 months. That said, I hope you enjoy the chapter.
After Clara and the kids left, the Doctor set the Tardis off to drift in space. Klary watched as the Doctor made his way under the console. Most likely to mess with something that didn't need to be touched. With a small smile his way, the brunette went off to her room. A nap most definitely needed after the last few adventures. By her calculations, the last she slept was just before her attempted murder. She shook the thought off. Not something she wanted to dwell on. Even though she knew any adventure with the blonde would be less than pleasant.
Klary sat by the window. Fingers clawed into the armrest. Her eyes closed as she tried to calm her erratic heartbeat. The noise around her not helping. Rose sat between her and Toby. The blonde's angry voice cut through the noise. Klary remained silent. No amount of reassurance would help. Not with how much the blonde disliked her. Instead she worked to calm herself. Eyes remained closed as she tried to think positively.
"We've lost the funnel! Gravity collapse!"
"What does that mean?"
"We can't escape. We're headed straight for the black hole!"
"It's the planet. The planet's moving," Rose gasped. "It's falling."
Opposite of Klary, Toby's face was covered in symbols. Eyes red. Face twisted in a snarl. "I am the rage."
"It's Toby. Zach, do something."
"And the bile and the ferocity!"
"Just do something!"
"I am the Prince and the Fall and the enemy. I am the sin and the fear and the darkness."
"It's him! It's him! It's him!"
"Stay where you are. The ship's not stable!" Toby breathed fire in reply. "What is he? What the hell is he?" Klary felt her buckle slack. Eyes snapped open. Arms too heavy to move. Fear coursed through her. Paralyzing.
"I shall never die. The thought of me is forever. In the bleeding hearts of men, in their vanity and obsession and lust-" Rose leaned over and picked up the bolt gun from where she dropped it. "Nothing shall ever destroy me. Nothing!"
"Got to hell!" She shot out the front screen and unfastened his belt. As he was sucked out, so was Klary. Her eyes widened as she met Rose's gaze. Fear and anger burned within them. But there was also something else. Triumph. Her heart stopped at the teenager's grin. Before she could move her gaze, she was overcome by darkness.
The lost girl, so far away from home. One unwanted by those she held dear. Dead. No one mourned you. Not then. Not now. A footprint in the sand. Gone and forgotten. You are nothing.
A scream ripped through the room. Body stiff. Arms wrapped around her. The echo of a heartbeat. A soothing voice. Words she couldn't understand. Slowly Klary calmed. Face wet with tears she hadn't realised she'd shed. Eyes opened, her eyes met the Doctor's. His filled with concern. Before he could utter a word, Klary ducked her head. Face nuzzled into his chest.
"Where were you before?"
Klary shook her head. Although there was no way he could do anything about it, she didn't want him to think terribly of a past companion. Yet the Doctor refused to let it go.
"Wherever it was, bothered you more than I've seen in a while."
"I'm fine."
The Doctor let out a huff. "Did you forget I know you? Tell me. It can't be that bad."
"You wouldn't be able to do anything about it."
"Does it matter? Just tell me where you were."
"I-" she sighed. Pushed herself away from him. Fiddled with her hands as she refused to meet his gaze. "I had come from your first adventure with R-Rose."
He was silent for a moment. No doubt thinking of what happened during that adventure. "And before that?"
"The impossible planet." Eyes flitted to his face and saw her words hadn't registered. "They called it Kroptor. The adventure with the devil and the Ood."
"Ahh. What happened that affected you? Rose said you vanished on the base before everyone escaped."
Klary's head snapped up. A sneer on her lips. "What! She said I left?"
Confusion marred his features. "Is that not what happened?"
Fury burned through her at the knowledge. Klary pushed herself off the bed. Paced the room as she tried to sort through her anger. "No. That's not what happened."
"Then tell me what did."
Klary cut her eyes to him. Fists clenched. "Before I do, tell me what happened the next time I was there."
His brows furrowed. "I mentioned it was a good thing you left when you had and…"
"And what?" Klary flinched at the sound of her voice. It was sharper than she anticipated.
"You got angry. Barely spoke to me most of the adventure. I didn't understand what was wrong. What I did wrong." He ran a hand through his hair. "It seems as if what I was told isn't what happened."
"Damn straight. That- You saw me directly after, it was when we first picked her-" she couldn't bring herself to repeat the blonde's name, "-up. I was screaming. You asked me what was wrong. What did I say? Once we sent her off to bed?"
"Someone tried to kill you. You were sucked out into…" his voice dropped. His expression blank. "She didn't? Tell me exactly what happened." Klary shook her head. She didn't want to say more. "Klary, love, please tell me."
"I can't," it came out as a sob. Instead she moved towards him. Tentatively, she gripped his hands and pulled them to her temples.
"Do you know what you're asking me to do?" She nodded. With a sigh, the Doctor kissed her forehead and entered her mind. It seemed like an eternity before he was out. Anger plain in his eyes. "How could she- Why didn't you tell me?"
"She was your companion. She was your first since the war."
"To hell with that, Klary! She tried to kill you. If not for the particles, you would be dead." She went to reply but the Doctor continued on. "And I believed her story. If she weren't stuck in the parallel world…"
"I knew how special she was to you."
"Special? Klary, Rose was a companion. You're my bloody wife!"
"Wife?!"
"Dammit." He took a breath. "Yes. You are my wife. You have been my wife since before the Time War. That's all I will say. Rose… none of my companions are as important than you. Damn them all. If something like this happens again, you are to tell me immediately. Do you understand me?"
"Bu-"
"Do you understand?" Klary nodded. "I need a verbal response."
"Yes."
"Good. Now, next time you see that incarnation of me, you are going to tell him to look out for her. For anything that she could do. If it's this, you are to tell him what happened."
"And have you kick her out the Tardis? I can't. Unfortunately, she's important. All that shit you lived through, her popping back up, it needs to happen."
"Then you need to be clear that she remains. I don't care. Either you do it or I do."
Klary stared after him as he stood and stormed from the room. "Fuck."
Klary hadn't left. She'd remained with Eleven for two weeks. By far the longest. Neither had left the Tardis. The Doctor had spent most of his time working through his frustration. While Klary spent her time in the library. She'd found some of her favourite books and was making her way through them. Her current read a childhood favourite, Castaways of the Flying Dutchman. She was curled on the sofa, a blanket wrapped around her and the next two books on the end table when the Doctor found her. He stood at the doorway, took her in for a moment before he went to sit beside her. Placing her legs atop him.
Klary glanced at him before she grabbed a placeholder and closed the book. "Is everything okay?"
"Let's go somewhere."
"Are we picking up Clara?"
"No. This is just us. Think of it as a date."
"Oh. All right." She stood, giving the Time Lord a small smile before she left for her room.
Fifteen minutes later, Klary was met the Doctor in the console room. He stood before the monitor, a thoughtful expression on his face. Deep in thought, she realised he hadn't noticed her appearance. She quickly moved to his side, wrapped her arms around his waist. "Looks like you're thinking hard."
"I was thinking of the perfect place and I have it in mind." He instantly set the coordinates. Klary moving to hold onto the railing.
"And where are we going?"
"Luneria."
"Never heard of it."
"Not even from the show?"
"Nope. It's brand new for me."
"Perfect." The Tardis landed and the Doctor faced her.
"Tell me about it?"
" It's a beautiful place with three moons that shine brightly in the night sky. There are golden statues of those who first inhabited the planet, and the weather is quite marvelous, staying at a constant eighty degrees throughout the two hundred and fifty day year. It's in the Sepelous quadrant, part of the Matenia constellations. Women are revered, considered goddesses and such. They hold the highest positions actually. Think of Amazonian women but with the ability to do so much more, such as magic and advanced technology. You see, in many cultures, the moon is related to women, even on Earth, it is called La Luna. The inhabitants happen to be quite friendly to visitors and they hold some of the best shops and food in the quadrant."
"So shopping and food. I'm game."
"Figured you would be. Now, let's go."
The couple's first stop was to the shops. The Doctor let Klary have full reign, buying her whatever she touched. Even when she asked him not to. He was spoiling her, something she wasn't used to. Back in her universe, she paid for everything herself. Rarely relying on anyone else. The times she did, Klary always repaid them. She hated to be indebted to anyone. Although the Doctor made it very clear that notion should be the furthest from her mind. That if anything, she had done so much for him that this was him paying her back. She had rolled her eyes at him. Said that he gave her a home. That whatever he was paying back, he already had. In the end, they agreed to disagree.
At some point, the Klary had wondered off, wanting to get something for the Doctor and his companions. As she entered one of the trinket boutiques, Klary was grabbed and dragged into an alley. As she fought back, she heard a voice she hadn't in a while. "Jenny?"
"Hi mum."
"What are you doing here?"
"Thought I'd pop by and mum-nap you. I haven't seen you in a while."
"Last I saw you was when you gave me the phone."
"Which you haven't used. But I'm glad you're okay."
Klary shrugged. She wasn't really. Sleeping beside the Doctor kept the nightmares away, but she was still sorting through the trauma of almost being killed. "Eh."
"Well, next time you see her, I'll be there. Not that dad knows who I am, but still. It'll be fun."
"Look forward to it. But we can't exactly leave. The Doctor w-"
"Dad's busy. Besides, we have a thirty minute window. That's enough time for us to go and come back. Trust me." With a sigh, Klary acquiesced. With a smile, Jenny input the coordinates in her vortex manipulator and the two were off.
Klary groaned as they landed. Head spinning as she gathered herself. Finally able to open her eyes without nausea, she took in her surroundings. It was another alley. She raised a brow at Jenny but the younger woman just smiled and grabbed her hand. Pulled her along until they reached a bar. Brows furrowed, Klary allowed it. Eyes widening when she was pulled to a table with two very familiar people.
"Ray! I see Jen's managed to get you here!" The man stood and engulfed her in a hug. Pulling away, he scrutinised her. "You haven't met me yet, have you?"
"I mean, in the future."
"So you haven't. How early is this for you?"
"Quit hogging her." The voice of the curly haired blonde cut in. Pulled her from the man and into a hug.
"Haven't met you either, Riv."
"I know. I remember your hair when we first met."
"I change my hair? Interesting. But anyways, what's this supposed to be?"
"This is us cheering you up," Jenny said as she wrapped an arm around Klary. "We all know what that skank did. This was the only opportunity we had so close to it happening."
Tears welled. "You guys…"
"Nope. No crying. We're drinking." Jack went to the bar and grabbed shots. "We're going to get you drunk and send you back to your man."
"You're the worst."
"We're the best. Now start drinking."
And drunk they got. The quartet went shot for shot, thankfully without the hyper-vodka. Although Jack did want to know if she cracked open her bottle. When she told him she hadn't the time, he promised they would open it up his first night on the Tardis. Agreeing, Klary, grabbed the drink in front of Jenny and downed it.
"I know I haven't officially met you both, but you were both my favourites! It was so fun watching you guys and now I get to know you and it's fan-fucking-tastic!"
Jack and River chuckled, the latter moving the other shots away from her. "We love you too, Ray. How drunk are you?"
"Not drunk enough. You want to send me back shitfaced and shitfaced I will be. Riv, hand them over."
"We said drunk, not shitfaced. Besides, any drunker and the Doctor will have our hides."
"Our? You know dad will instantly know I grabbed her."
"When does he realise you pop up? You know for story's sake?"
"Titanic. I pop in and out from that point on."
"Oooh. Fun. I love the titanic. It hit the iceberg on my birthday, you know. If it sank a bit faster, it would have done so on my birthday too but I still count it."
"We know," River deadpanned. "You begged the Doctor to bring you as a birthday present."
"Nice to know."
Jenny glanced down at her vortex manipulator. A grimace spread on her face. "We have to go. We might be a little late."
"No worries. I'll bat my eyelashes. No trouble for my baby girl."
"Now we know you're really drunk," Jack laughed as he stood. "It was great to see you, Ray. Call me whenever you need someone to talk to. Unlike someone, I'm not in prison."
"As if Stormcage really holds me. Call whenever."
"Come on, Mum." With a final hug, the mother/daughter duo returned to the alley and travelled back to Luneria.
Once there, Jenny made sure Klary was safe in the shop and vanished. Not long after she left, the Doctor popped up, head on a swivel as he looked for Klary. She spotted him first, a wide smile pulling on her lips as she rushed towards him and jumped onto his back. The two collapsed onto the ground.
"Are you drunk?"
Klary gave him a secret smile as she shook her head. "Just happy to see you. Look at what I found!" Standing, she pulled him towards the shop. Pointing out a few trinkets she wanted for the Ponds and Martha.
Items purchased, the couple went off to grab food. Apparently the place they chose was known for its chocolate. They had chocolate everything. Klary ended up trying as many chocolate drinks she could as well as their signature dish. It was all delicious. Definitely worth a return.
Returning to the Tardis, she was absolutely stuffed and just as drunk as she was when she left the trio, if not a bit more so. In her room, Klary thanked the ship as a pair of pyjamas appeared on the bed. As she pulled on the shirt, the door opened and the Doctor walked in. Stopped in his tracks as he noticed her half clothed form. Foregoing the shorts, Klary moved towards the Doctor. A sultry smile on her lips. Reaching him, her fingers tugged on his bowtie, pulling him close.
"Hey Doc?" Her voice low. Eyes hooded as she raised on her toes. Lips brushing against his ear. Her other hand at the top of his trousers. Fiddling with the clasp. She felt a shiver run through him. His breath hitched. "Ever had drunk sex?
Thanks for reading. I hope you like the chapter. I decided to finally do an original adventure as a comeback as it was a tad easier lol. Sorry if it's kinda dialogue heavy. I was going with the flow for the most part. But we got Klary officially telling the Doctor what happened and him letting the cat out of the bag. How do we all feel about that? It was definitely more of a feel good chapter as baby girl's been through it. Like I said, I was just going wherever it too me sooooo... yeah. Let me know your thoughts!
AliceCullen3: I'm so glad you loved it 3
savethemadscientist: Thank you so much. I love seeing your comments. The move went well. Honestly, it just took forever to kind of get our feet.
