Once I came to my mother placed a glass of water in front of me telling me to drink. I slowly sat up. "Uh, thank you. Sorry about that. I only had a latte today." I whispered.

"That makes two of you," Dad whispered in Mom's direction. She nudged his ribs. I smiled at the familiar exchange. I pointed to the calculator and wallet, "Alexis, you left this at the library." I said, "Martha you dropped this when you were about to enter the building." Alexis' eyebrows shot up to her hairline, "How do you know my name?" She asked. I laughed, "Your name is on the calculator." Her suspicion grew: "Yeah, but how did you follow me, here? To my house. I got in a cab the minute I stepped out of the library. You weren't behind me."

Well. She got me there.

But I'm always quick on my feet,

"I asked the reference desk for your address. I gave her 5 bucks. I just wanted you to have your calculator. I'm assuming you have finals tomorrow?" I said, fixing my hair and checking if I had everything I came with. I looked at the time on my wrist and rolled my sleeve down as I made my way to the door. I began to apologize. "I have to go, sorry about the—," But I couldn't finish, I was physically stopped. By my mother. "Your watch, where did you get that?"

Oh, shit.

My grandpa's watch, her dad's watch, the one she's wearing right now.

"Kate, it's just a watch. Let h—" Dad started and Mom continued to stare daggers at me. Her hand began to pull on my arm. I snatched it away - something I never do in my timeline because I like to breathe. As I pulled my arm away my watch fell onto the floor. I dropped to the ground and picked up my watch before mom could.

"Your watch, where did you get it?" Mom asked. I rolled my eyes, which was not a good idea here or in my timeline. "Don't you dare roll your eyes. Where did you get it?" She asked again. Dad got closer to her, "Beckett, it's a standard watch, an Omega speed master." He said.

"I got it as a gift from my mother," I replied. "Honey, what's your name?" Grandma asked. "Lily, Lily Walter's. I have to go. I don't mean any harm. I just wanted to be nice and return your things. Thanks for the water." I finally left the loft and waited for the elevator. My heart was in my throat and I stepped into the elevator pressing the lobby button.

After a late lunch, I walked out to make my way to the park where I was tackled by a man who was now holding a gun to my temple. You have got to be kidding me.

I saw my uncles Espo and Ryan run towards us. "Get any closer and I'll pull the trigger." The man said. I rolled my eyes and stood there. My uncles were thinking hard about their next move. That is until we heard a safety click behind us. He turned us around to face, yes, my parents.

Seriously.

"Lily!?" Dad yelled. Mom still pointed the gun at the man who I assume is a murder suspect. "You are surrounded. Put the girl down." She said, he let me go and I slowly began to back away. "No, you're coming with us." Mom looked right at me and pointed to her car. I let out an exasperated sigh, dad was right, she's always been the boss.

"Why? He tackled me as he ran. I just left the Chinese place. There's no reason for -,"

"Car. Now." She said, I didn't think her voice could scare me like that here but I was wrong. I got into the back of her cruiser and waited for an impending disaster.

As we entered the precinct I couldn't help but feel a little happy. I have good memories of the 12th from my childhood. The smirk on my face fell when I made eye contact with my dad who was studying me. I chewed my bottom lip as I was escorted into an interrogation room. They left me there for 10 minutes. I knew they were looking at me on the other side of the glass. I flipped my hair from one side to the other and fought the urge to look at my phone. I began to think about Mark. Poor guy, he's probably in agony waiting for me.

There was a pad and paper on the table and I chose to review the Einstein-Hilbert Action with a cosmological constant.

"Is she… doing math?" Espo asked as he squinted at the screen displaying the top of Lily's head and her hand furiously scribbling on the paper.

"Also, why are we interrogating her?" Ryan turned to Castle who looked around for his girlfriend before he answered. "I'm honestly not sure. Beckett told her to get in the car. We had an interesting interaction with her earlier this afternoon." Espo continued to look at Lily. "Her watch looks exactly like Beckett's. She kinda looks a lot like her,"

He whispered. Beckett entered the viewing room. "Lily Walter's does not exist and I'm going to find out why she lied to us and why she happened to be in the same area as our murder suspect." Kate looked at the young girl still writing on the legal pad.

I heard the door of the interrogation room open and I looked up to see Mom and Dad enter. They looked so badass and I felt some pride in how mom sat down and never took her eyes away from mine. That is until she took the legal pad and looked at my work. The confusion on their faces was amusing. "It's theoretical physics, general relatively to be exact," I whispered. Mom's face softened for a slight second and she returned the legal pad. I ripped out my page and looked at them both, waiting.
