:)

It all started when Team RWBY were just settling in for the night.

It took them hours of fighting and sneaking around but they eventually managed to make their way through the residential district of the abandoned city and settle down inside one of the apartments. Ever the gentleman and the veteran, Doctor Oobleck again volunteered to secure the premises while they settle down for the night

Aside from a brief kerfuffle when they were preparing dinner, things were actually looking pretty good! Heck, they even managed to cook for a full meal instead of satisfying themselves with beef jerkys!

Ruby giggled as she saw Yang burped after gulping down a burger.

"Damn, how did you even pack the ingredients for these bad boys?" Yang asked as she licked her fingers clean only to have Weiss smile smugly at her.

"While you were busy packing Ember Cilica's ammo, I was busy storing ingredients for a proper meal with Ice Dust to freeze them."

Weiss happily then took out a small pack of frozen burger patties to Yang and Ruby's amazement.

"Woaaahhh! How did you know we would even be able to cook them in the field?!" Ruby squealed as she tried to look around Weiss' pack to see if she had sweets in there.

Weiss huffed, swatting Ruby's hands away from her with a smile on her face as she answered.

"That would be because of Blake."

"Hmm?" Blake looked up from frowning at her Scroll to stare questioningly at them.

Ruby tilted her head at that.

"What's up, Blake? Anything bad?" She asked but Blake only shook her head at that.

"Nothing, just trying to see if we can get a signal from this height." Blake answered, looking at the window showing the night sky.

"Huh, right." Ruby looked out too, if she actually looked over the edge she would probably see four or five floors below them.

It wasn't so strange to hope that a signal, no matter how faint, would be able to reach them but Ruby thinks one would need a lot of luck to get a signal this deep into Mountain Glenn. Judging by Blake's face however, she was having no such luck.

"Why are you even looking for a signal?" Yang raised an eyebrow and Ruby will admit, she was also curious.

Blake however only froze for a moment at that before looking away from them and pretending to look as relaxed as possible.

"Nothing." She says but Ruby looked flatly as Blake's cat ears twitched.

"Your ears are twitching." Weiss pointed out with wide eyes and Blake instantly hunched down embarrassedly at that.

"Weiss!"

"What?! It is!" Weiss cried out as Yang laughed loudly at that.

"Looks like Blakey's hiding something. Expecting something, partner? A message from a certain boyfriend, perhaps?"

Blake paused for a moment before giving all of them a knowing smirk.

"Girlfriend actually."

"What?" Yang blinked and even Ruby looked at Blake with wide eyes at that.

Blake however only gave them a smug smile.

"I told Pyrrha they could use our room if she sends me videos."

"You what?!" Ruby asked loudly.

"Videos?!" Yang confirmed with wide eyes.

"In our room?!" And Weiss shrieked in mortification.

Blake shrugged away every single one of their questions.

"What? No one was going to use it. The least I could do was give them some space."

"Even so, you should have consulted us first!" Weiss shot back as Ruby nodded vigorously in agreement.

It seems like despite joining Jaune's harem, Weiss wasn't a lost cause!

Blake however only raises an eyebrow at Ruby's partner.

"Alright, I admit I should've warned all of you but look me in the eye and tell me you wouldn't appreciate it if Pyrrha and I helped you get some alone time with Jaune."

Weiss sputtered weakly at that but Ruby only frowned as the topic started to drift towards Jaune.

"So they're in our room right now?"

She made Jaune promise not to use their room for those kinds of stuff anymore but she doubted he'd follow through with it when Pyrrha manages to pull him there alone.

"Probably." Blake shrugged, confirming Ruby's fears as she sighs resignedly.

"What do you think they're doing?" Yang asked knowingly with a smile on her face.

Before anyone else could answer however, Ruby puts a stop to it by clapping her hands.

"Nope! We are not going to talk about Jaune right now! This week is about us! Not Jaune!" She finishes with a forceful smile on her face as her team cringed at that,

Looking at each other abashedly before turning back to Ruby's brittle smile, it was Yang who broke the silence first.

"Right, sorry." Yang apologized repentantly as Weiss cleared her throat awkwardly.

"Ahem. We were talking about how Blake is able to cook in the field?" Weiss asked, making Ruby nod in satisfaction as her team changed the subject.

"Oh, that. Well…..I've had a lot of experience camping out in the field before I got to Beacon." Blake perks up at that before hunching down embarrassedly.

Ruby sighed internally at that as the rest of her team looked at the Cat Faunus before Yang snorted loudly.

"Who knew that Blake's misspent youth as a terrorist-"

"Ahem." Blake coughed goodnaturedly with a small blush on her face.

"-I'm sorry, is armed political activist the appropriate term?" Yang teased, getting everyone to laugh as Blake nodded amusedly.

"It is."

"Alright then, who knew your experience as an armed political activist would be so helpful?" Yang continued and Ruby smiled as her team continued the conversation.

Blake hummed before tilting towards Weiss with a knowing smile on her face.

"Well, it turns out you learn quite a few things when you frequently have to camp out in the wild and fight for your own survival as well as against an evil megacorporation."

"Hey! It's not evil!" Weiss gasped only for Blake to raise an eyebrow at her.

"Really? Not even a little bit?"

Weiss paused for a moment before nodding embarrassedly with a flush on her face.

"Okay, maybe it is a little bit evil."

"Aha! Admission from a Schnee! I have never accomplished more in my life than I did today." Blake pointed triumphantly as Weiss waved her hands defensively.

"But I promise you Blake! I will change it! I will change the SDC for the better!"

Blake laughed softly, dropping her hand and looking at Weiss with a small smile on her face.

"I take it back. Getting you to promise that is the best thing I have ever done in my entire life."

"Thank you, Blake."

"You're welcome, Weiss."

Ruby smiled widely at that.

This! This was what she wanted to happen!

Just one day in the field and her team was already coming closer together! Heck! She didn't even need Jaune for it to happen!

Little did Ruby know however that think of the devil and he shall appear.

"Really? I would've thought your crowning achievement would be bagging both Jaune and Pyrrha in the same night, Blake." Yang teased as Ruby's smile fell at that.

Why?! Why did she have to bring him up again?! Now all they were going to talk about was Jaune again!

Blake choked on air with wide eyes and Weiss eeped with her hands on her face as Ruby shrieked instantly.

"Yang!" Ruby chided instinctively, her facing taking on a healthy flush of its own.

Her sister however only shrugged casually at her rebuke.

"Okay, I know I said sorry last time but come on!" Yang whined before continuing with a smile towards Blake and Weiss. "I'm sure we were all thinking about it."

"I wasn't until you brought it up!" Weiss shrieked in denial but there was no hiding the blush on her face.

"Of course you were, you got bagged too after all." Yang waggled her eyebrows, getting Weiss to squeak in embarrassment even as Ruby scowled in annoyance.

"Argh! Enough! It's Jaune this and Jaune that again!"

"Relax, sis, it's just girl talk." Yang rolled her eyes at that but Ruby only grumbled as she crossed her arms under her chest.

"Girl talk, really? You are going to go with that?" Ruby asked flatly.

"Yup." Yang smirked however, popping the p and getting Ruby's eye to twitch.

"Well, can't we talk about something else then?"

"Come on, Ruby, we're four hot babes chilling out in the wild and you don't want to have a little bit of girl talk?" Yang grinned even as Ruby looked at her flatly.

"Nope."

"Bu-"

"Nope."

"Oh come on!" Yang threw her hands up at that and Ruby smirked at her sister's frustration. "Just look at Blake and Weiss! This is the perfect time to have girl talk!"

Ruby's smile falls at that and she turns to the rest of her team who were blushing and looking awkwardly away from her.

"Really?! Now?!" Ruby shook her head incredulously as Weiss embarrassedly cleared her throat.

"I mean…all we'd need to do is paint our nails, try on new clothes, and talk about a cute boy." She called back hesitantly and Ruby could only groan as her palm meets her face.

"And while we can only do one of those, I think it is enough. Besides, what else can we talk about?" Blake added with a smile on her face.

"Literally anything!" Ruby threw her hands up at that exasperatedly.

Her team however seems to have united behind her back and took one look at each other before opening their mouths at the same time.

"""No."""

"URGH! You guys are hopeless!"

Her team only laughed loudly at that even as Blake nodded at Yang. "And yes, Yang. To answer your previous question, my relationship with Jaune and Pyrrha started as an accident so I still think getting Weiss to admit her family's company is evil and needs to change is my crowning achievement."

"Yeah, yeah, but that's not what I want to talk about." Yang rolled her eyes before suddenly looking at Blake intensely. "I want to talk about Jaune."

"What about him?" Blake raised an eyebrow and even Weiss looked curiously as Ruby grumbled to herself how it really was becoming just about Jaune all over again. Still, if this conversation gets her team closer, Ruby was willing to let it pass considering she was already open to joining them in it.

Yang's question however threw them for a loop.

"I want to know how he is in the sack."

The term flew right over Ruby's head as she froze but that was not the case for Blake and Weiss.

"What?!" Weis shrieked embarrassedly while Blake raised an eyebrow.

"Forward, aren't we?"

Yang however only scoffed at that.

"Let's not kid ourselves. There is a high chance that sooner or later, we are all going to be pole sisters."

"P-Pole sisters?!" Ruby's eyes widened and just like that, the innuendos clear themselves in her head.

Sex. They were talking about sex.

Yang must have seen her expression because a cheshire grin grows on her face as she leans towards Ruby.

"It's when we've both had the same man." Yang whispered loudly as the image crystallized inside Ruby's head.

Glurk! Glurkh! Glug!

Instead of it being Weiss with Blake and Pyrrha, it was with Ruby and Yang kneeling in front of Jaune. Using their mouths to pleasure him before she and her sister-

Ruby immediately shrieked and waved her hands defensively.

"Nope! Nope! Nope! I don't want to think about it!"

Her face flushed as she shook her head to try and get the image out of her mind.

She might be open to it now but hearing it and imagining it with her sister was a bridge too far.

A harem, she could take, but what her imagination was leading her into was too close to incest! Incest was not wincest in her opinion!

Her salvation however comes from the most unlikeliest of sources.

Doctor Oobleck slid in with Zwei in tow.

"Premises are clear! Who wants to take first watch?!"

Ruby's hand was already shooting up before anyone else could reply.

"I do, I do!" She yelled, rushing outside and pulling Zwei with her without waiting for anyone's reply.

Ruby heard the laughter from inside the room just as she rushed into the hallway of the abandoned apartment.

"Make sure to make a commotion if something goes wrong as you sweep the surroundings!" Doctor Oobleck called out but Ruby nodded embarrassedly as she continued on.

And so it was with Zwei hot on her heels and a healthy flush on her face did Ruby Rose escape from her sister's teasing.

If only she knew what she was running into then perhaps she would've opted to stay and let herself cool down with her team.

Because by the time she cooled down, Ruby Rose was already outside looking for fresh air. And once she was outside, it was only a matter of time before she encountered an enemy she had forgotten about.

"I don't get it, Zwei! Is sex really that good?!" She whispered loudly, Zwei's reply to that however was to bark and run away.

Ruby's eyes widened and she immediately rushed to follow.

"Zwei!" She calls out, only for Zwei to urinate on one of the ruins. "What are you doing?! This is a wasteland! You literally could've done that anywhere! You didn't need to run off." She hissed angrily.

As Ruby leaned down to chastise Zwei however, he barks and her eyes widened as she heard a sound she did not expect to hear.

BARK!

"What was that?!"

"It's probably nothing."

Voices!

"Do you really want to bet on that?"

"Fine, let's go check it out."

And they were coming closer!

Before she knew it, Ruby was already scooping Zwei and diving into cover as the sounds came right around the corner.

Her heart beat rapidly as she found cover behind a partially-destroyed wall.

She tried to take a peek and the world froze as she saw a glint of white.

The White Fang!

Ruby immediately dove back into cover before they could see her. She was ashamed to say that in the midst of everything that happened between her team and Jaune, Ruby almost forgot about the White Fang. Well, they were certainly reminding her of their existence tonight.

"See, there's nothing here, man!" One of them called out but the other one only nervously shuffled before sighing resignedly.

"I don't know, man. I guess I'm just worried another Huntsman might come at us like last time."

Ruby's eyes widened at that. Another Huntsman?! Could it be Uncle Qrow?!

Her heart stops however at their next words.

"Then they'll be killed just like the last one."

The words pierced through her head as her heart beat rapidly and her breath came shallowly. The world muffled all of its sound as Ruby lost all hearing as memories flashed through her mind while one single world boomed inside her.

Uncle Qrow, throwing her into the air with a smile on both of their faces.

Killed.

Uncle Qrow, sneakily trying to feed her cookies with a grin on his face.

Killed.

Uncle Qrow, excitedly teaching her how to wield a scythe with a proud smile on his face.

Killed.

Uncle Qrow…..killed?

Just like her mother-

NO!

No, no, no!

Crescent Rose flew out in a heartbeat and Ruby stood up with her face full of fury. She freezes however when she finds no one there.

"What?"

Was she hallucinating?

Whine…

Zwei whined piteously by her feet however and Ruby sees him pointing towards the street corner. Did she….did she have breakdown and let time pass her?

She felt Zwei nuzzle firmly beside her but Ruby didn't really notice as one thought ran through her mind.

Uncle Qrow was supposed to look for bad guys. The White Fang were bad guys. They killed-

Ruby shook her head at that before sternly looking at Zwei.

"Zwei, go to Yang."

Zwei whined loudly but Ruby only shook her head.

"Go to Yang, okay? I'm going to follow them so you follow me with backup, okay?" She knelt, scratching the corgi's cheek as she looked into its beady black eyes.

Some might doubt her sanity in trying to order a dog to do something but Ruby knew what she was doing. She's seen her dad order Zwei to cull the Grimm back in Patch with the dog obeying obediently before coming home with a Beowulf's head still in its mouth.

Say what you will about Zwei but he knew what he was doing. He just didn't care to listen sometimes. Luckily, this was not one of those times. This time, Zwei listens faithfully albeit reluctantly.

Ruby nods as the dog immediately ran towards where they came from. She looks at it in satisfaction for quite some time before her gaze hardens and she turns towards the direction the White Fang scouts must have gone.

By the time Ruby Rose found the scouts, she was already falling into one of the sinkholes and straight into the tunnels the White Fang were using.

Silver eyes met brown ones behind a white mask and Ruby acted before the other could.

BANG!

Deery rushed to put on some clothes as the shouting outside their shared room got louder.

Her heart thundered through her chest as she remembered the last time a Huntsman got into the tunnels.

Grimm almost overran them as their backlines got decimated from the inside. It took Adam Taurus working together with Roman Torchwick and his partner to get the situation under control and even then, by the way Perry told it, it was a close damn thing.

Oh Gods, Perry!

She glanced to see him almost fully dressed and only required to put a shirt on before a sudden knock pounded through their door.

"Perry! Hurry up! Adam is calling us to our battle stations!" LT called out loudly.

"Coming!" Perry shouted back as they heard LT begin to stomp away.

He turned towards her then and time seemed to stand still as they locked eyes with one another.

They weren't in love per se. Their relationship was built on the physical comforts they could provide for one another yet despite that, they truly cared for each other. They were friends and lovers and this might be the last time they would see each other again.

They must have had the same thought because they launched towards each other into a searing kiss as they held on tightly. Her bare chest molded against his as they insistently kissed each other. Tears pricked Deery's eyes as eventually, duty calls and they separated from one another.

"Be safe." She whispers, thumping her forehead into his neck as she did her best to memorize his scent, his warmth, and his strength.

"You too, Deery." Perry replied, tightening his hold over her before nodding to himself.

They separate from one another and Deery turns around to wear her bra as Perry opens the door to rush outside.

Privacy was a luxury they could seldom ill-afford so Deery was unaffected despite the throng of people rushing past their shared room.

Finally dressing herself, she rushes out and follows the mass of her brothers and sisters in arms.

Ever since the Huntsman managed to sneak in, Adam and LT have managed to develop contingency plans in case such a scenario happens once again.

Like it or not, the moment their base gets found a second time means that their location was already compromised. The White Fang can only react one way once their base gets found out.

Evacuate and bug out.

In this case, the contingency plan was going to be an evacuation using the train they commandeered in Mt. Glenn.

The tracks would lead to Vale but if they time it right then they can certainly stop just before entering the city proper and use one of the dug out access tunnels to escape.

Eventually, she and her comrades come upon a busy section of the tunnel containing almost all of their equipment and their currently most important asset, the train. Voices called out orders, feet stomped hurriedly, and metal clanged against each other as everyone tried to do their part.

Deery immediately used her hands to carry the remaining cargo into the large train in front of her before a voice jolted her out of her thoughts.

"Get that cargo into the train!" Richard Bullson, their stand-in strategist, pointed as he directed more hands to her own station before pulling her closer. "Deery! I need you to organize the healers, cooks, and quartermasters into the front compartments! No one gets left behind!"

"R-Right!" She nods with wide eyes before getting pushed to the front of a group of people.

"Good girl." Richard patted her before stomping away with orders shooting off of his lips. "Now someone get a message to the patrol groups! Everyone not here right now will have to regroup at Point Bravo!"

Point Bravo, a location just outside of Vale where their fighters would have to converge at a later time in case they had to scatter. It was also where Perry had to go to if he doesn't manage to board the train with her.

Deery followed Richard with her eyes for a second before seeing Perry leading a group of fighters into the tunnels.

Her breath gets caught in her throat before she gulps it down as she turns her head back only to see women and elderly people waiting for her orders.

Gods, what was she going to do?! Before she could even speak however, a shrill voice cuts through the busy section.

"News from the tunnels!"

Her head snaps towards one of their radio stations just as an operator delivers the news.

"More Huntresses! It's a full team led by an older man!"

Screams shouted out at that as fear shoots up Deery's spine even as she shakily leads her group forward. "Alright everyone! Get your emergency kits ready and gather at Carriages 4 and 5! Nobody gets left behind!"

By the Gods! A full team! One Huntsman almost brought down their operation! What could a team led by what could only be a veteran do to them?!

Oh Gods, just what could they do to Perry?!

The last thing Perry expected to meet with a team of recruits inside the tunnels was a little girl wielding a scythe bigger than her body.

Said little girl however was strong and fast enough to blow past them.

He thought they had the advantage with their numbers, size, and the darkness around them but the little girl only burst into petals and the next thing Perry knew, he was being blown into the tunnel walls.

His eyes widened as he somersaulted in mid-air while his team experienced the same thing.

How?! They didn't even manage to slow her down! He was supposed to slow them down to give time for their comrades to evacuate and here he was, already failing!

His breath rushed out of his chest and his eyes lost focus as he felt the back of his head hit something hard. Darkness dominated his vision for a moment but it was only a matter of time before he started to come to.

Dazed as he was, he was thankful his Aura was unlocked. If it wasn't for it absorbing the blow, Perry suspects he'd still be asleep or worse, dead. The same could not be said for his team however.

While pained groans sounded from some of them, Perry could already see others lying still. Whether they were dead or not, he did not know. He was much more worried by what he was suddenly hearing. He heard footsteps coming from deeper into the tunnel.

Before he could even get his feet under him however, three women with a cat Faunus on the lead and an older man behind them were already rushing past him.

They didn't even look at them!

Perry's eyes widened at that and he tried his best to put his arms under him.

No, no, no!

That must've been the team they were warned about! How?! Just how were they so fast?! Sadly, Perry also knew the answer to that. They were just too damn strong!

"Fuck!" He growled as he struggled to follow them.

It was about a five minute run from here to the rallying station where the train was at but for those trained in Aura, it was way less than that. Perry did not know how to enhance himself efficiently yet but he didn't have the luxury to train right now.

He only did his best as he called out to the rest of his injured comrades to follow him.

"Get up! Do you want them to kill our brothers and sisters?!"

That must've lit a fire under them because Perry heard shouts coming in from behind him even as he rushed forward.

By the time they reached the station however, the train was already starting to move away.

"Wait!" Perry shouted as he saw the Huntresses leap on top of it but it was too late.

They were too slow and the train too far away with the Huntresses already moving from carriage to carriage on top of it.

Perry despaired at that, until of course, a hand landed on his shoulder. He immediately shoved the hands away only for him to look apologetically at his comrade who was heaving breathlessly.

"Pa….Paladins!" A finger pointed towards a certain cargo container and Perry's jaw dropped because there they were, Paladins.

A whole cargo of them. Enough for everyone who managed to follow him back.

Perry laughed hysterically. Richard must not have had enough time to load them.

Adam's weapons, brought by Roman Torchwick, piloted by soldiers of the White Fang, the Paladin was supposed to be their answer to the Huntsmen problem and in this situation? They certainly were.

"Go, go, go! We are leaving!" Perry shouted excitedly, already running towards the Paladins and waving his arms to his comrades behind him.

As he jumped on the cockpit of one and booted it up, Perry smiled.

Maybe things weren't so bad after all.

Oh if only he knew what was going to happen, Perry never would've thought that. He would've still done what he did of course but he would've been a lot more prepared to do so if he only knew what they were going to bring to the heart of Vale.

"AHHHHHH!"

Blake looked worriedly as she saw a White Fang soldier fall from the train. Her team however only continued on.

"Ruby! Slow down!"

She heard Yang call out as they saw their fierce leader on the carriage in front of them but Ruby only turned towards them and shouted words that chilled her to the bone.

"They killed Uncle Qrow!"

"WHAT?!" Yang called out as the air whipped her hair behind her.

"They said they killed Uncle Qrow!"

Even from here, she saw the tears pricking Ruby's eyes before they were carried by the rushing wind.

"Alright then, let's go." Yang replied resolutely, stepping forward even as Blake and Weiss looked at each other hesitantly.

"Yang! It might not be true!" Blake shouted but Yang only shook her head.

"Might be, might not be, we'll only get our answers if we ask them."

Blake nodded slowly at that. If she was being honest with herself. She didn't want to fight the White Fang. Despite how bad the White Fang was being right now, Blake already opted to leave them to the authorities.

If it was up to her, she would've already pulled her team out and have Doctor Oobleck call Headmaster Ozpin or the authorities the moment they found their presence.

But it was not up to her.

"Blake, we should go." Weiss called out, nodding towards Yang who was walking forward steadily while Ruby waited for them.

She was just about to step forward herself when Zwei barked behind her.

She turned around only to see Doctor Oobleck looking behind them.

"You girls go ahead. It seems we have some persistent people on our hands over here."

Blake's eyes widened as she saw multiple Paladins chasing after the train.

Damn.

Blake remembers just how hard it was to fight one of those things when Roman rampaged in the middle of Vale. They even had to team up with JNPR and even then, Roman still managed to wreak havoc on the populace.

Imagine what one could do with squads of them.

Even Doctor Oobleck looked serious as he assessed the situation.

"Are you going to be okay, Professor?" Weiss asked worriedly, coming to the same thoughts as Blake but Doctor Oobleck only shakes his head at them.

"It's Doctor, Ms. Schnee, and it is not a question of am I going to be okay or not. It's a question of are we going to accomplish our mission or suffer the consequences."

"Mission, sir?" Blake blinked at that.

This was obviously far from the mission they were given but Doctor Oobleck only nods gravely.

"Yes, these tracks lead directly to the heart of Vale. The way was obviously blocked off during the Fall of Mountain Glenn but can we take the chance that the White Fang did not begin to clear it? What do you think would happen if this train suddenly crashes through the thin barriers remaining?"

Chaos. Death. Destruction.

Blake gasped loudly at that and Doctor Oobleck turned towards them with an intense look in his eye.

"Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to stop this train no matter the cost."

""We accept."" Blake and Weiss say at the same time just as Yang turned towards them.

"Let's go, slowpokes!"

Blake gives Doctor Oobleck one last nod as she and Weiss push against the wind and regroup with Yang and Ruby.

"What took you so long?" Ruby grumbled but Blake only answered calmly as they all knelt on top of one of the carriages.

"New mission from Doctor Oobleck. Stop this train from reaching Vale no matter the cost."

"Vale?" Yang asked with wide eyes as Weiss nodded at her.

"According to him, the tracks lead to the heart of Vale. We cannot let whatever they are carrying get there."

"Great, that's what we were going to do in the first place." Ruby answered before frowning. "Wait? What are they carrying again?"

Weiss shrugged and Blake took the initiative to point at the hatch on top of the carriage they were standing on. As they opened it however, they all blinked at the object inside the carriage.

"That…appears to be a bomb." Weiss notes as Yang rolls her eyes.

"You don't say."

Blake only nodded palely at that and it is Ruby who takes control of the team again as she firmly closes the hatch.

"Alright, team! We head to the front and hit the-"

BOOM!

An explosion rocked the train and Team RWBY looked back to see Doctor Oobleck fighting multiple Paladins with Zwei as they detached the carriage they were standing on.

The girls all screamed only to breathe a sigh of relief as they jumped on to another carriage attached to the train. The relief is short-lived however when the Paladins follow to do battle once again.

The situation however turns for worse when the carriage now behind the Paladins explodes.

BOOM!

"They're armed?!" Weiss shrieked as Blake nodded slowly in horror.

"Apparently."

There's been two explosions already and worse yet, Blake could already see black masses rushing past the explosions towards the Paladins.

"Grimm." She calls out, pointing at the back of the Paladins. She doubts her team could actually see them but the terror in her voice was obvious.

Grimm plus a train punching through Vale? It was a recipe for disaster.

"Double time! We need to get to the front and hit the brakes as soon as possible!" Ruby shouted and there was no questioning her orders.

Team RWBY rushed on top of the carriages, dodging bullets and kicking off White Fang grunts when they had to. Blake's heart hurt for her former comrades but this was what they needed to do.

Save Vale.

By the time they reached the front portion of the train, there were only three carriages between them. These carriages were different however. They looked to be connected into one long tube with only small gaps between them.

If they wanted to get to the engine room and hit the brakes, they actually had to enter through here.

As they climb down however, Blake is surprised to see what stares at her from Carriage 4.

"People. They are carrying people." She mutters and her team turns towards her to see the Faunus inside the carriage pointing frantically at them. Whoever they were, they didn't look like the people one would usually put in combat. That doesn't seem to stop them from trying however as they brandished knives, scalpels, and guns towards her team with glares on their faces.

Blake gulped nervously, turning back to her team as Weiss pulled her through Carriage 3.

"Don't worry, Blake. We'll keep them safe too." Weiss whispers as Blake nodded shakily while Yang locked the door behind them.

"There, no one should be able to follow us now." Yang called out, putting her hands on her hips but Ruby only frowned at them.

"Don't you think it's strange that there's no one here to guard this section of the train."

"Maybe they were all back there?" Yang shrugged but Blake only shook her head at that.

"No, those looked like the cooks, the medics, people you don't generally send out to fight." She answered even as Weiss pats her shoulder comfortingly.

"Maybe they ran out of people to fight us?"

"Maybe but maybe they are also in the next section over there." Blake nodded, staring at the door in front of them to Carriage 2.

Ruby nodded, stepping forward resolutely before walking forward and putting a hand on the door.

"Alright team, ready?"

"Ready!" Yang called out and Blake was just about to join in when Weiss hands over something to her.

Dust.

"Just in case you need them." Weiss smiled and they both looked at Ruby who was smiling at them.

""READY!"" They called out and Ruby opened the door to…..nothing.

"Huh? Still no guards? I kinda expected we'd have a boss level fight by now." Ruby scratched her head as Weiss paled at that.

"Please don't jinx us."

"No, I swear I think I saw Roman board the train earlier!" Ruby added and Blake raised an eyebrow at that.

"You're telling us that now?"

Ruby cringed embarrassedly at that. "It never came out?"

"Well, whether he did or didn't, I'm sure there's someone there to drive this thing." Yang snorted, pointing to the door leading to Carriage 1, the Engine Room.

Blake looked toward her team at that, their faces getting serious at Yang's words. As disappointed as they were at the emptiness of Carriage 2, Carriage 1 had to have someone inside it.

And it had someone indeed.

As Ruby pulls the door open just like before, Blake freezes at the man who stares at her.

"Hello, Blake."

Adam Taurus stood there together with LT, Roman Torchwick, and Neopolitan.

Fuck.
