Chapter 1: Going to the Mattress Factory
One seasonably cool third Saturday of November 2024, I met up with my childhood friends Sarah, James, and Henri along with some of my other best friends Carly Shay and Spencer Puckett, as well as Carly's stepdad, Freddie Benson, at the Mattress Factory. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. We jammed out to Kate Bush, NSYNC, and the Pop2Kountdown featuring the year 2001 with the #1 song being Mary J. Blige's "Family Affair". We explored all 3 buildings in the Mattress Factory and enjoyed them very much. "Do you think that it is fun to try new things, Mr. Benson?" Henri asked. "Yes, definitely, Henri," Mr. Benson replied. "I have never been to the Mattress Factory before, either," Henri stated. "Can we play Monopoly together once you get home?" "Absolutely," Mr. Benson replied. "I love that game along with charades, Corn Hole, and Murder in the Dark Game." "Are you up for a movie when we get home, Spencer?" James asked. "Sure, James," Spencer replied. "What would you like to watch?" "The original Spider-Man movie from 2002," James replied. "Although, I have to tell you that when Phillis was my girlfriend, she would never care for these types of movies. No wonder we didn't last very long, huh?" "So, big sis, are you enjoying the Mattress Factory so far?" Carly asked. "Big sis?" Sarah asked. "You have never called me that before." "Sarah, what do you think of the Mattress Factory and my passion for arts and crafts?" Carly asked. "I think that it is fun, Carly," Sarah replied. "I also really like the spa and makeover theme. How would you feel about having the activity in Sharpsburg next summer instead of Moon Township?" "It would be more convenient," I stated. "But, that is still months away from now, so I wouldn't worry about it right now." "Can you think of something that involves arts and crafts and a spa and makeover at the same time?" Carly asked. "We could make face masks and painting your nails is considered to be art," Sarah suggested. "We could make hair accessories and it would be fun to make your own make-up." "I tried it for my first time as a freshman in high school," Carly stated, "along with tie dying." "Not just in the summer, but any time of year, any kind of weather, whether it be spring, summer, fall, or winter," I happily pointed out. "That's right, Angel," Sarah told me. Pretty soon, it was time for all of us to go home. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
