Shizuo is tired from his day. He spent half the day with Tom and had to put up with the games of that damned bastard Izaya. On the way home he smoked a cigarette. He suddenly noticed someone trying to hide behind him and he rolled his eyes slightly and continued walking.
The person stared at Shizuo from below in awe, hoping that the big grumpy looking guy wouldn't betray him.
A few reporters ran past Shizuo, looking for the pop star they had been following.
"You can come out... Whoever was following you seems to be gone," Shizuo grumbled.
"T-Thank you for not betraying me," replied the smaller one.
"No problem..." replied the blonde, flicking the cigarette away and stomping it out before walking on.
The other man ran after him, visibly confused. "Um... don't you want anything in return? For helping me?"
Shizuo looked back over his shoulder at the young man who followed him and replied with a simple "Nope."
"O-okay... otherwise the people always expect something from me when they have to help me..." replied the black-haired man.
"Why did you hide behind me from the reporters anyway?" asked the taller one, lighting another cigarette.
Psyche giggled quietly and grinned mischievously at Shizuo. "In the dark and with the hood on, it's hard to recognize me. I'm Psyche. And I hid behind you to get rid of the reporters," the smaller one replied.
Shizuo raised an eyebrow and was surprised when the black-haired man revealed his name. Shizuo definitely knew that name, but he didn't expect the guy in front of him to be the famous singer.
"You're Psyche? I know some of your songs. I didn't expect you to be so small," he said bluntly.
Psyche pouted slightly. "Tch... size doesn't matter..."
Shizuo grinned, somewhat amused by the singer's reaction.
"Yes, you're right. But to be honest, I expected you to be taller," he replied with a slight shrug, took another drag of his cigarette and looked down at Psyche.
"Why were the reporters after you anyway? Don't you have bodyguards?" asked Shizuo.
"At least not sensible ones... They don't want to look after me 24/7. No matter how good the pay is," Psyche replied, rolling his eyes a little.
Shizuo sighed a little and began to get a better picture of the situation.
"You mean to tell me that you're a famous pop star, probably with a lot of annoying fans, and that you don't even have competent bodyguards to protect you or deal with those damn reporters?" Shizuo asked with slight annoyance in his deep, gruff voice.
"They think I should stop making such a fuss and just answer the reporters' questions," Psyche muttered.
Shizuo sighed again and ran his hand through his blonde hair. The little pop star's situation annoyed him.
"They're your damn bodyguards. They have a job, and they're not doing it right. And that's why you have to hide behind some guy on the street just to avoid the damn reporters," he said in his usual gruff tone.
Psyche looked at Shizuo. "Say, don't you want to take the job? You seem pretty scary to me."
Shizuo blinked, not quite expecting the pop star's suggestion, and stared at Psyche.
"You want me to be your bodyguard? Do you know how many idiots try to get close to you and stuff? I'm not cut out for that," he replied, shaking his head.
Shizuo wasn't sure if he could control his temper in the presence of so many people, especially when it came to the pop idol's crazy, obsessive fans.
Psyche looked at Shizuo with a pleading look. "Why not? You look really strong and dangerous... and that's exactly what I need to get rid of all the reporters and crazy fans who just don't understand a simple 'no'..."
Shizuo was surprised by the pleading look on the little singer's face. He hesitated for a moment and thought about it. Shizuo knew he could definitely protect the guy and deal with those damn reporters and fans, but there was one problem.
"What about your management? Do you think they'll just let any guy be your bodyguard? I'm pretty sure they'll be against it," he said, looking at Psyche.
Psyche looked at Shizuo thoughtfully, considering his words.
"I'll take care of it. You don't really have a say in my personal decisions anyway. So what do you say? Would you do it?"
He gave the blonde another pleading look.
Shizuo sighed. He had a feeling he wasn't going to win this game, not with the pop star giving him that damn cute, pleading look.
"Damn... well, fine. You win. I'll be your bodyguard," he said, somewhat reluctantly agreeing to be the singer's personal protector.
Psyche's face immediately lit up when Shizuo agreed. "Really? Great! I'm so happy!" He squealed and threw himself at the blonde to hug him.
Shizuo stiffened slightly as Psyche threw himself at him and hugged him. He wasn't used to such physical contact, especially from strangers, but he couldn't quite bring himself to push him away.
"Yeah, yeah. Just don't be too clingy, got it?" Shizuo grumbled.
