Shizuo smirked faintly. He could feel his temper starting to flare a bit at the prospect of getting to use some of his strength without getting in trouble.

"But being your bodyguard would mean a lot of damn annoying people trying to get close to you. I hate people. What makes you so sure I won't just snap and kill someone?" He asked with a low growl in his throat.

Psyche looked at Shizuo briefly. "You don't give me the impression that you would kill someone for no reason."

Shizuo remained silent for a moment, looking at the little pop star. He was surprised by the guy's trust in him despite barely knowing him.

"Well... I'm not a murderer, that's true. But you really don't mind if I do whatever I want with those crazy fans of yours?" Shizuo asked, wanting to be sure Psyche was okay with such a thing.

Psyche looked at Shizuo. The prospect of having someone like him protecting him seemed to have a certain appeal.

"No, I wouldn't mind if you use force against them..." he said.

"But I have one condition," Shizuo said, crossing his arms.

I'll accept it anyway, but" what is it?" the black-haired asked.

Shizuo looked at the pop star.

"Don't expect me to be some kind of proper bodyguard. I won't dress all nice and fancy, and I won't be a babysitter," Shizuo stated bluntly.

He had no intention of being a regular bodyguard and playing by the rules. He was Shizuo Heiwajima, the monster of Ikebukuro, and he had his own way of dealing with things.

Psyche chuckled softly and smiled slightly. "Alright, I'm fine with that."

Shizuo smirked.

"That's good to hear," he said, straightening his back.

"One last thing I need to know before anything else," Shizuo added.

"Are you... alright with me being your bodyguard as I am right now?" Shizuo asked, referring to himself - the way the pop star had found him, still in his bartender suit and with no intention of changing.

Psyche nodded. He was completely fine with how Shizuo was dressed right now. "Your job is to protect me, not to stand next to me and look fancy."

Shizuo let out a small huff of amusement.

"You've got a point there. I'm not the fancy type," he admitted, a hint of satisfaction in his deep voice.

"Well, now that we've agreed on those terms, I guess you've got yourself a bodyguard. Shizuo Heiwajima is at your disposal, Psyche."

Shizuo then stretched his arms and cracked his neck, looking around. He had accepted the job, and now he was responsible for the little pop star's safety. He couldn't deny that he was looking forward to it, especially knowing he had the freedom to deal with those annoying fans however he wanted.

"So, when do I start?" Shizuo asked, looking down at Psyche.

"Right now if you want", Psyche said with a slight smile.

Shizuo eyes glinting with anticipation.

"Alright then. You're officially under my protection from now on. You can count on me to keep your annoying ass safe," Shizuo said, cracking his knuckles.

Psyche smiled at Shizuo, happy that he accepted the job. "Great, then follow me please..." He started to walk towards his apartment, putting his hands in his pockets.

Shizuo followed behind Psyche as requested, walking by his side. He noticed the glances from other people on the street, probably recognizing the pop star. Shizuo wasn't too bothered by it. After all, he was now the guy's bodyguard, and it was his job to ignore those gazes.

"So, where are we going?" He asked, looking around.

"First of all, home... I need to get some rest from all the sound recordings." Psyche responded and yawned softly as they walked towards his apartment .

Shizuo nodded in understanding as he listened to Psyche's explanation. He could understand how tiring it could be to record music all day.

"Yeah, I can imagine that you're exhausted after all that time in the recording studio," he replied, walking beside the pop star.

"So we're heading straight to your apartment. Got it."

They continued to walk along the street, Shizuo keeping an eye on the surroundings. As they passed by, people would still occasionally glance at them, but no one approached them, probably due to Shizuo's intimidating presence.

After a while, they finally reached Psyche's apartment building. Shizuo looked up and raised an eyebrow.

"This is where you live, huh?" He remarked, following Psyche inside.

"Uhm... Yes... The top floor is completely mine", he responded and blushed slightly. It was probably a bit uncomfortable for him to own such a huge apartment

Shizuo noted the faint blush on Psyche's cheeks, finding it slightly amusing. He smirked as they entered the building.

"Top floor, huh? That explains a lot," he said with a hint of sarcasm in his deep voice.

"I guess being famous has its perks."

Psyche nodded. "It does." He opened the door and led Shizuo inside. "Go make yourself comfortable, I think the last room on the left is still free. You can have it as long as you're my bodyguard.

Shizuo followed Psyche inside, looking around the spacious apartment. He raised an eyebrow at the fact that there was a free room available.

"Huh, you've got an extra room lying around? That's convenient," he commented before being given the suggestion to make himself at home.

"The room on the left, huh? Sounds good. I'll go check it out." Shizuo walked to the indicated room, peeking his head inside to have a quick look.

Psyche meanwhile took off his hoodie and placed his headphones around his neck before he headed zowards the living room where he collapsed on the sofa.

Shizuo examined the room quickly, noting that it was clean and decently furnished. He then returned to the living area, where he found Psyche had already collapsed onto the couch.

Shizuo stood there for a moment, watching the pop star on the sofa. He couldn't help but chuckle softly at the sight.

"You're really tired, aren't you?"

"I just need... to rest for a few minutes..." he started to prototest, before falling deeply asleep from exhaustion .

Shizuo watched as the pop star dozed off, fast asleep on the couch. He shook his head slightly, amused by the sight.

"Damn, falling asleep that easily. This guy really must be exhausted," he muttered under his breath.

Not wanting to disturb Psyche's much-needed rest, Shizuo decided to explore the apartment a bit. He walked around, checking the different rooms, and getting himself familiar with his surroundings.

After wandering around for a while, Shizuo looked back at the sleeping Psyche on the sofa. He thought about how to pass the time until Psyche would wake up. He decided to try and find something to eat.

Shizuo entered the kitchen and examined the various cabinets and the content of the refrigerator. He wasn't really sure what kind of foods pop stars usually ate, but he was determined to find something edible.

Shizuo searched through the cabinets and the pantry, but didn't find much. He frowned in disappointment.

"Damn, this guy doesn't have much," he muttered to himself. However, he didn't give up. He looked inside the refrigerator and spotted a few containers with seemingly delicious food.

"Jackpot..." Shizuo muttered to himself as he reached for the containers, hoping to find something decent to eat.

Shizuo carefully opened the containers, his eyes widened when he saw and smelled the food. It seemed to be some kind of Italian food, probably leftovers from a meal.

Shizuo's appetite was immediately sparked, and he realized that he hadn't eaten anything substantial all day. His stomach growled in response, clearly begging for something to eat.

Shizuo hesitated for a moment, wondering if he should wake up the sleeping pop star first, but his hunger won out. He grabbed a plate and began to warm up the food.

Shizuo's appetite started to get the better of him, and he impatiently waited for the food to be ready.

Finally, the microwave beeped, signaling that the food was done. Shizuo took the food out and sat down at the dining table. He didn't even bother putting it on a proper dish, just grabbing a fork and digging in.

Shizuo ate the food in no time, the taste completely satisfying his hunger. Once he was finished, he leaned back in his chair, feeling a slight sense of relief. He glanced over at the pop star sleeping on the sofa, still sound asleep, and he couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle.

"This guy sleeps like a log."

Shizuo sat there for a moment, staring at the pop star's sleeping form. He realized that he didn't know much about the guy. He was the famous singer known as Psyche, yes, but beyond some basic facts, Shizuo didn't know much else.

With that thought in mind, Shizuo decided to look through the apartment to find any possible information that could tell him more about the guy he was now supposed to protect.

Shizuo rummaged through Psyche's bedroom, looking around for anything interesting that could tell him more about the pop star. He scanned the books, magazines, and other items on the shelves, opening drawers, and searching for anything that could give him some insight into who Psyche was as a person.

As Shizuo continued his search, he stumbled across something unexpected. He found a folder tucked away in one of the drawers. Out of curiosity, he picked up the folder and opened it, revealing several photographs.

Shizuo's eyebrows raised as he looked through the photographs. They depicted Psyche as a child, a teenager, and even a few as a young adult. There were pictures of him with friends, family, and the press. Shizuo couldn't help but marvel at Psyche's younger appearance.

Shizuo continued to flip through the photographs, studying each one carefully. He started to notice something intriguing in the pictures of young Psyche. In several of them, the pop star's eyes had a strangely empty and melancholic look to them.

Shizuo focused on that specific detail, furrowing his brow. He couldn't quite put his finger on it, but something about those eyes seemed off. He continued flipping through the photographs, trying to find more clues and insights into Psyche's personality and past.

Shizuo's attention was drawn to a particular photo. It showed Psyche as a child, standing next to a woman who seemed to be his mother. Shizuo couldn't help but pause, noticing the strained look on the woman's face and a forced smile on young Psyche's.

Shizuo looked at the picture a bit more closely. The subtle signs of distress and unease in both their expressions were hard to miss. He couldn't help but wonder why.

"What happened to you in the past...?" Shizuo muttered to himself, putting the photograph back in the folder.

Psyche woke up and lookred where Shizuo was. He found Shizuo looking at the old photos of him. Psychr leaned against the door frame and yawned slightly.

"Long story... the short version is, my mom dragged me to all the auditions and competitions as a child. I had little interest in it back then..."

Shizuo was slightly startled by Psyche's sudden appearance, but he quickly composed himself. He looked back at the photograph he had been holding and then at Psyche.

"She made you do all that stuff... even when you didn't want to?" Shizuo asked, his voice tinged with a hint of sympathy.

The Popstar scratched the back of hid head before he spoke. "Uhm, yes. But I got used to it."

Shizuo let out a small sigh, still holding the photograph.

"I can imagine that wasn't easy for you... being forced to become something you didn't even want to be." he murmured, a hint of understanding in his deep voice.

"Oh, I actually enjoy it now..." Psyche responded with a slight smile.

Shizuo nodded, putting the photograph back in the folder.

"Yeah? So you like being famous?" He asked, closing the folder and placing it back in the drawer.

Psyche shook his head and looked at Shizuo. "I don't like being famous in the first place, I like being on stage and writing songs", he responded.

Shizuo listened to Psyche's response.

"I see... so it's the performance and music that you like, not the fame," he surmised, understanding the pop star's love for the stage and creativity.

Shizuo stayed silent for a moment, deep in thought. He couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration for Psyche's passion and dedication to his craft. Being forced into a life as a famous singer hadn't broken his spirit, but instead, he found joy in what he did.

Shizuo glanced at Psyche, who was now yawning and stretching lazily on the sofa. Shizuo smirked, realizing the guy was still exhausted from his hectic day.

Suddenly Psyche's phone rang. He looked briefly at the display and saw that his manager was trying to call him. Psyche accepted the call with a slight yawn.

Shizuo remained silent, watching as Psyche picked up the phone. He didn't interfere or interrupt, just listened to the conversation that was about to take place.

The conversation between Psyche and his manager was brief. From what Shizuo could hear, it seemed like the usual business talk. They discussed some schedules and deadlines for upcoming recordings and concerts.

Finally, the call ended, and Psyche hung up the phone. He took his phone aside and rummaged for some papers.

Shizuo uncrossed his arms, looking at Psyche.

"Was that your manager?" He asked, wondering if the call had anything important.

Psyche stretched a bit more on the sofa, yawning again.

"Yeah, he wanted to remind me of my schedule. I have several recording sessions and interviews lined up for the next few days... not to mention the concert rehearsals" he replied.

Shizuo frowned as he listened to Psyche's words. It seemed like a hectic schedule, with barely any time for rest.

"That's a pretty busy schedule you've got. How do you manage all that and still keep your sanity?" He asked, a bit concerned for the pop star's well-being.

"I lost my sanity a long time ago", he responded with a slight grin. "Until now I've always somehow managed it."

Shizuo couldn't help but snort in amusement.

"You're a weird one, you know that?" He commented, shaking his head.

"... How about you take some rest? You look like you're about to collapse," Shizuo said with a hint of concern in his deep voice.

"I just rested earlier..." He pouted faintly. "And you also gave me a song idea that I should write down quickly... so I have the missing track for the new album."

Shizuo raised an eyebrow, a hint of curiosity in his eyes.

"Oh? A song idea, huh? And I was the one who gave you the idea?" He said with a slight smirk, leaning against the wall.

Psyche nodded. "Yes. You asked about my childhood. And I think I have an idea..."

Shizuo's smirk widened slightly as he listened to Psyche's explanation.

"That's interesting. So you want to turn your childhood into a song?" He asked, his deep voice tinged with genuine curiosity.

"Among other things. I'm sure there are a lot of people out there who feel or have experienced this..."

He started to write down a text and then tried to sing it.

Hey, dad, look at me

Think back and talk to me

Did I grow up according to plan?

And do you think I′m wasting my time

Doing things I wanna do?

But it hurts when you disapprove all along

And now I try hard to make it

I just wanna make you proud

I'm never gonna be good enough for you

Can′t pretend that I'm all right

And you can't change me

′Cause we lost it all

Nothing lasts forever

I′m sorry I can't be perfect

Now it′s just too late and we can't go back

I′m sorry I can't be perfect

I try not to think

About the pain I feel inside

Did you know you used to be my hero?

All the days you spent with me

Now seem so far away

And it feels like you don′t care anymore

And now I try hard to make it

I just wanna make you proud

I'm never gonna be good enough for you

I can't stand another fight

And nothing′s alright

′Cause we lost it all

Nothing lasts forever

I'm sorry I can′t be perfect

Now it's just too late and we can′t go back

I'm sorry I can′t be perfect

Nothing's gonna change the things that you said

And nothing's gonna make this right again

Please don′t turn your back

I can′t believe it's all just a talk to you

But you don′t understand (you don't understand)

′Cause we lost it all

Nothing lasts forever

I'm sorry I can′t be perfect

Now it's just too late and we can't go back

I′m sorry I can′t be perfect

'Cause we lost it all

Nothing lasts forever

I′m sorry I can't be perfect

Now it′s just too late and we can't go back

I′m sorry I can't be perfect

(original by Simple Plan, Title: perfect )

Shizuo listened to the song in silence. The lyrics were raw, personal, and heartfelt, a glimpse into Psyche's own experiences and emotions.

As the last notes of the singing faded away, Shizuo remained quiet before speaking.

"That... That's quite a song..." he murmured, a mix of sympathy and respect in his deep voice.

Psyche smiled. "Thank you, Shizuo. I'm glad that you like it..."

Shizuo nodded, still a bit taken aback by the emotional depth of the song.

"You're really talented, you know that? You put a lot of emotion into your music..." Shizuo said, genuine praise in his gruff voice.

the Popstar chuckled softly. "well yes, maybe that's why everyone likes my songs."

Shizuo looked at him for a moment, his gaze softening slightly.

"You're not just singing for the fame and applause, right? You're putting more than just your voice into your songs." He asked, a hint of sincerity in his usually gruff tone.

Psyche nodded. "Yes, I am not just singing for fame or applause. I am putting my heart and soul into my music. This is how I express my feelings, and I hope that my music can touch someone's heart."

Shizuo couldn't help but respect Psyche's dedication to his music. In a world where fame and money were often the main motivations for many celebrities, it was refreshing to see someone who genuinely cared about the art and meaning behind their work.

"Seems like there are more sides to you than I thought. I'm starting to see why you're so popular," Shizuo said, his usual gruff voice softened.

Shizuo nodded. He found himself relating to the pop star's desire to make a meaningful impact through his music.

"I get it. You want your music to have a lasting effect, to make people feel... something." Shizuo said, his voice slightly softer than usual.

Shizuo was starting to see the person behind the famous figure. He realized that there was more to Psyche than the charming pop star the media made him out to be.

"You're not just some empty-headed pop star, are you?" Shizuo remarked with a hint of a smirk.

Psyche smiled at Shizuo's understanding, appreciating the fact that he was listening and trying to understand his perspective.

"Exactly. I want my songs to be more than just background noise. I want them to touch people's hearts and souls, to connect with them on a deeper level."

Shizuo chuckled slightly, feeling a newfound respect for the pop star.

"Well, that attitude's definitely rare in this line of work. Most pop stars just care about hitting the charts and making as much money as possible." Shizuo commented, crossing his arms.

"Well, I couldn't do it without money... unfortunately it has to be financially viable. But for me personally it doesn't matter what rank in the charts I'm on". he responded with a smile.

Shizuo nodded, accepting that money was necessary to make a living.

"Yeah, I get that. It's a business, after all." Shizuo said, understanding the realities of the industry.

"But still, the fact that you don't care about the charts and all that... it says something about you." Shizuo remarked, a hint of admiration in his voice.

Psyche chuckled softly and looked at his watch. "Looks like we have to go... I have to do some audio recordings and do an interview..."

Shizuo nodded, realizing that Psyche had a busy schedule to maintain.

"Yeah, I guess you're right. You've got a lot of things to do." He said, pushing himself away from the wall.

"Well, then lead the way. I'm your bodyguard now, after all. Can't let anything happen to you." Shizuo remarked, following Psyche.

Shizuo's mind was occupied with various thoughts as he followed Psyche to his recording studio. He was still trying to wrap his head around the fact that he was now a bodyguard for a famous pop star.

Still, he couldn't deny that there was something different about Psyche compared to other celebrities. The guy was surprisingly genuine and down-to-earth... not at all what Shizuo expected from someone in the spotlight.
