Delrosario: No…but it really should be.
Monster King: Thanks!
Euphoria: I really like the idea of the orbiting attack! Unfortunately, Johnny already does the black hole thing, I feel like that's Tusk exclusive. Still a neat idea though!
Kosaku Valentine: Thank you! It's really nice hearing from you, it's been a while! As always, good luck on your own stories…
…and a certain Stand may be appearing soon.
Kasumi Kenshiro: With All Might..the best thing I can say is to expect anything.
Guest: Hi! Thanks for commenting on my story! I appreciate the criticism, and I may use a few of your ideas, although LTP is likely going to remain with just MHA and JJBA. Thank you for giving this story a chance!
Also, the Meta Liberation Army may not be entirely done…
Hey…so…remember what I said last year, how the story might be coming to an end?
…
…
YEAR THREE, everybody.
For starters, I would like to apologize for pulling a Horikoshi. Also for posting this a day later than the actual anniversary. When I said that, I didn't really account for how my schedule would suddenly become a whole lot busier. Unfortunately, it's been hard to find the time, energy, and motivation to write that I once had, but that doesn't mean I'm quitting anytime soon.
So I changed my upload schedule. Instead of rushing to get chapters out, I'm going to make them longer. Even though LTP chapters might not be as frequent, I'm going to try and make up for that by giving the chapters more content.
The next chapter is currently being worked on, and it has multiple fights, including Toshinori's first solo battle. I'm really excited to show you what I have for both his and Joseph's arcs, I feel like it translates pretty well into canon.
Of course, like the two other anniversary chapters, I'll be sharing some of my plans, and my thoughts on the story so far, and a few scenes that didn't make it into the story. So…without further ado…
All For One:
With recent events in the manga, like the revelation of his backstory…my opinion has changed on All For One.
Don't get me wrong, he's still pathetic, and (minor MHA manga spoiler) his ending confirms that. He is absolutely what would happen if you gave an incel power, Horikoshi managed to explain it in such a way that made him a great character to represent everything that the story MHA isn't.
Part of what made me end his story early in the first place was my frustration and personal bias towards certain characters. For a while, it really did seem like the manga was heading towards an uncharacteristically grim place…but I should have known that MHA simply was not that kind of story. Without spoiling too much for anime onlies, I want to discuss how he plays a role in LTP's future.
I'm not bringing him back. Why would I just up and remove the consequences Santana gave him at the end of the Villain War? However, with Horikoshi's recent delve into who AFO actually is…I may try to work him back into the plot to explore that.
That does not mean he's getting a comeback. However…his influence is still around…and perhaps certain characters aren't as dead as you think…
Character Deaths:
I have some deaths planned, but most of the cast will survive.
It's not that I have a weak stomach, it's more that I'm very particular about it. It's just not what I'm going for, because while JJBA has quite a few deaths…MHA does not, and this is a crossover that prioritizes both.
MHA's story would actively suffer if certain characters die, because it goes against the core themes of the series. Sure, you could say that the story "lacks stakes", but if those stakes go against what the story you're writing stands for…isn't it better to just have a happy ending?
Plus, even in JJBA, I can't name a single character that died without achieving something. Even Narancia, who was pretty much a shock value death, he inspired his team to go after Diavolo. Kakyoin figured out The World's ability and relayed that to Joseph, and I guarantee that Jotaro would've been unable to beat DIO if either of them died prematurely.
So, when it comes to the deaths of main heroes in LTP, it will only happen if:
The character has fulfilled their arc.
They do NOT die in vain.
Their death actually furthers the plot.
Unimportant side characters are fair game though. As long as I can do both series justice, I'm satisfied.
"Hey JoJo."
"Hm?" Johnny looked down to find his girlfriend looking up at him. "What is it?"
"Would you love me if I was a worm?"
"...are you asking me that question unironically?"
"Oh no, it's ironic. I'm just curious about your answer." Kyoka said, smirking.
"Well…it's no." Johnny said, and the musician stifled a laugh. "What else can I even say? If you were turned into a worm, you wouldn't even be you…just a…mindless little noodle."
"Pfffft!"
"What?! It's true! A worm's brain is only capable of registering pain and coordinating movements, they don't have memories or any sort of complex thought. They eat, and they move…that's it." Johnny responded. "So no, I wouldn't love you if you were a worm, I'd be horrified if you were a worm. It's basically a living death."
Kyoka grinned.
"Being horrified for me would mean that there is still love, no? Even if it is for a split second…you love the worm."
"No, I love the woman that the worm once was."
"But the worm is the woman, are you saying you'd immediately fall out of love with me because I'm now a worm?"
"Stop it!"
"Stop what?"
"Playing mind games!"
"Stop falling for them."
"No! Wait..uh…SHIT!"
Kyoka giggled, and buried her head into his chest. "Heheheh…you're so easy to tease."
"The perfect victim for someone like you, I know."
"You know I only do it because I think you're adorable when you're frustrated, right?"
"Bears can be cute, are you going to go around poking them too?"
"No, because they wouldn't enjoy it like you do." Kyoka playfully poked Johnny in the cheek with a jack. Johnny couldn't help but smile at that, because in the end it was true. He wouldn't sacrifice their banter for the world. "See?"
"Whatever…alright…maybe I would still love you if you were a worm." Johnny paused, and then looked over at her. " Would you love me?"
"No. Worms are gross."
"..."
"PFFFT! HAHAHAHAHA!" Kyoka broke out into gleeful laughter upon seeing the look on Johnny's face, kicking her feet up into the air. Johnny broke, and joined in, putting an arm around her as he chuckled to himself.
They both knew each other's real answer to that question anyway:
'Always.'
Fate:
Both series have Fate, although it isn't as big of a plotpoint in MHA.
A large part of my current chapters is defying Fate, despite JJBA's rules. Of course, in Parts 5 and 6, Fate was changed in specific ways. Giorno was fated to die to Diavolo, yet he activated Gold Experience Requiem instead…and in canon, Jolyne and the gang were born into better lives after the reset…and clearly Jotaro got the chance to be the father he would have liked to be.
I have already introduced the concept of defying Fate through Johnny's two closest allies…Gyro and Kyoka. While I initially kept Gyro alive because I felt Johnny's story would be empty without him going forward…it's a little different now. Why was Gyro the Zeppeli to seemingly break the cycle? Why was the simple act of Kyoka giving him a tuning harmonica enough to disrupt the Zeppeli Curse?
Of course, Gyro being Gyro, he joked about it being "love", but he wasn't entirely wrong…or right. To defy Fate in this universe requires something specific, and while I know people hate the "power of friendship", it does have something to do with it.
It's something that Kyoka represents in this story, which is why she was the one who unintentionally saved Gyro from his fate.
Izuku liked Morioh.
Honestly, if he wasn't aware of the fact that it used to be the stomping grounds of one of the deadliest serial killers to ever live, he'd probably consider it perfect. However…it was a hotspot for the supernatural…and that meant chaos was inevitable.
'Now Endeavor's here. He really only seems interested in training Todoroki…but there's so much I can learn from him!' Izuku sighed, and rolled up his sleeves to check on his arms. 'I need to learn how to work around THIS…'
"Looks pretty bad."
Izuku paused to see a woman standing in the graveyard by Tonio's restaurant, and her violet eyes were trained on his freshly scarred arm. She was wearing a hoodie that obscured her face, but her eyes were sharp, and focused.
'She could see the scars from up there? Are they really that visible?!'
"Er…yeah."
"...you're one of the kids that got hurt, right? Midoriya?"
Izuku blinked, and then scratched the back of his head. "Yeah, that's me. That guy that keeps getting hurt…"
"You mind if I ask a question?"
"I-I really have to go, my teacher is expecting me."
"It'll be quick."
There was something off about this encounter…almost as if this woman sought him out. Izuku mentally prepared himself for a fight as he responded. "Sure."
"How much blood can one person shed before they become irredeemable?"
Izuku paused. That was a genuine question…this woman legitimately wanted to hear his answer. To be honest, he wasn't exactly sure. It wasn't like he could redeem a mass murderer, but a wayward soul?
"Why do you ask?"
"...I'm on the fence about something."
"I'd say it depends on their situation." Izuku replied. "The context is what matters…and what they're willing to do to make up for their crimes."
The woman nodded, taking his words to heart. She tilted her head upward, revealing her face. She was beautiful, that much was plain…but also somber. Tired bags fell under her eyes, likely from being kept awake by nightmares. There was this lingering pain in those sharp eyes, one that drew Izuku forward, his natural instincts begging him to ask her name, to offer her what little help he could.
At that moment, he wanted to reach out to her…but something stopped him.
'That's…'
The woman was Lady Nagant, one of the Tartarus escapees that they were looking for. He had been advised against encountering her alone…and here he was, alone with a villain yet again.
Izuku was held back by fear, as memories of all the times he had put himself in danger crashed to the surface. Overhaul, Santana, the Necromancer…
Kars.
She was a killer, described to be especially deadly by Hawks. Said to be both cunning and ruthless…and here she was…and she looked like she desperately needed saving. This didn't look like a cold-blooded killer, but a woman haunted by her past.
Yet…she was dangerous, and the last time he threw himself into something without thinking…
That's when the mercenary gave him a gentle smile.
"Thank you, Midoriya. That helped more than you know."
Before he could reply, she disappeared amongst the tombstones, leaving him alone to process what had just happened.
The Tartarus Escapees:
With Nagant, Stain, and Muscular broken out of prison by Kars, things are going to heat up.
Nagant is a special case, because she is the person Jotaro has been talking to since Chapter 101. An old friend from high school, she actually has some insight to Jotaro's backstory before Part 3, so we'll get to explore why Jotaro became the way he was from 3-6.
Their relationship isn't romantic…yet…but Kaina is in a far worse place than he is. She's got innocent blood on her hands, and she's got a long way to go to pursue redemption for that.
Think of her arc as being similar to Kratos in the Norse God of War games. Kratos did terrible things in the original trilogy, but by the time of the Norse games he's much more compassionate, and filled with regret. Kaina may never truly be redeemed, but throughout her arc she's going to learn that it's okay to try and be happy. To live and be better than the ruthless killer the Public Safety Commission groomed her to be.
She'll meet Johnny soon…and I'm excited to dive into that.
Stain is back, and he's out for blood. He is still going to be the antihero he is in canon, but he was released into a hero society that's currently collapsing as a result of All Might's retirement, and a hero he despises currently in the number one spot. He's going to be a key villain in the Endeavor Agency Arc…and he may be involved with my version of the third movie.
Muscular…you already know what his deal is.
The New Stranger/ The Traitor/ King Cobra:
If you know the manga, the identity of the Traitor has not changed. The difference is that this version will be more active, and may have a few moments with the cast to make the reveal hurt a little more.
The New Stranger (if you hadn't figured out who he is), is a redo. He's a chance to do a certain antagonist justice, when I failed them previously. The Stranger is going to be one of the story's final villains, the nemesis of one particular character for the final battle. His relationship with the Traitor is going to be far different than what happens in the manga, as this character finally has a chance to show his real face.
King Cobra, formerly known as Glycon, is Katsuki's villain (since I kinda wrecked his canon one). King Cobra is supposed to represent everything that Katsuki was before his change of heart…and he may or may not be responsible for something tragic down the line.
"Is this the Morioh Protection Agency?" A green haired woman asked the front desk, currently being ran by Johnny. The former jockey gave her a bored look in response before responding.
"Yes."
"Can I speak to Josuke?"
Johnny raised an eyebrow, and examined the woman analytically. She was tall, conventionally attractive, and wore two buns on the side of her head. Judging by the bulge in her stomach, she was pregnant by at least seven months.
Wait.
"You're…calling my uncle by his first name?"
"Oh! You're Johnny! He gushes about you all the time…although he talks about your girlfriend a bit more."
"Uh…ouch."
"Is she around here?" The woman glanced around, but Johnny shook his head.
"Sleeping."
"Ah…" Her eyes followed Johnny's to her stomach, and she chuckled. "I see…he hasn't broken the news yet…yeah, I'm afraid this is exactly what you think it is."
"..."
"Um…I'm sorry, I can come back anothe-"
"UNCLE JOSUKE!" Johnny hollered. "YOUR GIRLFRIEND'S HERE!"
*CRASH!*
The sound of his uncle tripping over things in a panic was unmistakable, followed by annoyed grumbling that was clearly Kyoka being shaken from her nap, and Josuke burst through the door to find his nephew giving him what the Joestars called the "Kujo Stare."
"I…uh…" Josuke turned to the woman and gave her a sheepish grin, before turning to Johnny. "I was trying to find the right moment to tell you, and uh…then Endeavor happened and…"
"I'm sorry Josuke, I thought they knew." The woman said.
"No, it's alright…it was going to come out sooner or later. Johnny, this is Ka-"
The doors to the MPA flew open, and Endeavor stepped through.
'OF ALL THE TIMES!' Josuke thought to himself, almost tearing up his prized pompadour from the increased awkwardness. "Er…Endeavor! Wasn't expecting you this early!"
"I always arrive early. Who is this?"
"Er…my-"
"Client, I'm a client." The woman lied effortlessly. "I was just coming in to report a crime, but Crazy Diamond just assured me he already took care of it." She then bowed her head. "I'm afraid I'm a little overwhelmed, so I'll take my leave. Thank you for your hospitality, Mr. Higashikata."
"Thanks for stopping by." Josuke said, smiling at her. 'And thanks for that. The last thing I want is for Endeavor to know about this.'
Johnny was still giving his uncle a look, but he wasn't blind to the chemistry between his uncle and their "visitor." She covered for Josuke without missing a beat, made it completely believable too.
He didn't have time to worry about that now though.
As the number one hero walked past, he and Johnny locked eyes. They held eye contact for a second, and then Endeavor made his way into the meeting room.
The team up between the Morioh Protection Agency and the Endeavor Agency had officially begun.
Three years.
I would like to take some time to thank everyone. If it weren't for friends like DJH and Kosaku Valentine, I can tell you with absolute certainty that this story would've died during the Steel Ball Run arc.
I appreciate every single one of you, and I hope to continue to write a story you can all enjoy. See you all next chapter!
