Past Weeks…
Most of Jason's time was spent training and coming up with even the smallest of things he could turn to their advantage. He looked at the armor he took from Humanity's Defense. It was immune to small arms damage while being resistant to rifle and shotgun ammo.
It was also lightweight, maneuverable, and seemed like it'd be good against melee attacks. Jason dyed a set black and blue while resolving to ship most to the World Army, should they make it past this crisis. As for vehicles, he picked out a truck and outfitted it with a few surprises.
Jason's House: Evening…
Jason had been doing some training in his armor when there was a rumbling. "What was that?"
He rode the elevator up to the main part of his home. Just before heading outside, he noticed the windows were cracked. That was a good indicator this wasn't an earthquake. He moved outside and looked around for anything out of the ordinary.
As he scanned the horizon, the soldier noticed that houses in town had their windows broken. Upon looking up, he spotted a giant green hand in the sky which was pointing at them. Jason immediately ran back inside to get his truck for this occasion.
Beach House: Beach
Jason parked before getting out and having his helmet retract. "What's the situation?"
"A ship arrived in our atmosphere." Garnet informed.
"Peridot?"
"We don't know." Pearl replied. "We can only guess yes."
Jason got out a sniper rifle and used its scope to look at what was coming. "Other than its green, I see no other discernible marks to indicate it's her."
"Regardless, we still need to engage." Garnet stated. "Are the light cannons ready?"
"Guys!" Steven was running towards them with his dad. "Did you see that thing in the sky?"
"It's a ship, so we have to assume it's Peridot." Pearl told him.
"Lapis said she'll be coming with advanced weapons and reinforcements." Garnet reminded.
"Thanks Lapis." Jason thought fondly.
"It's happening…" Greg stated in disbelief.
"I want to see." Steven walked over to the telescope and peered through it. "Woah."
Garnet looked toward Jason with a determined expression. "Ready the light cannons."
Jason pulled out his phone and activated it. With a whir, the Quartizine Trio moved out from under the deck of the beach house while Amethyst pushed out the fourth one.
"Steven, light them up." Garnet signaled.
"If every pork shop were perfect…" Steven spoke into a walkie talkie. "…we wouldn't have hot dogs."
The cannons fired their payload straight towards the ship, the blasts looking like bright versions of Rose.
"That's the signal to activate them!?" Jason asked incredulously.
"One no one would be able to figure out." Garnet answered.
The hand reoriented itself to show its palm, and to everyone's dismay, the attack achieved nothing even though it hit dead on. The hand then went back to pointing as though nothing had happened.
"No effect." Garnet stated grimly.
"What now?" Greg asked.
"My turn." Jason opened the back of his truck, taking out a rocket launcher, RPG, and missile launcher. "Pearl! Garnet!" He tossed them the RPG and missile launcher, which they easily caught. "Arm up."
"You sure this'll work?" Garnet asked, aiming her RPG at the ship.
She may not be privy to using conventional firearms, but Jason made sure to at least show her the ins and outs of explosive weaponry. Turns out, she does like the explosions they bring.
"No, but if there's one area humanity might beat out the archaic gem tech on earth, it's in explosive yield." Jason declared. "Ready!" The three of them looked at the ship. "Aim!" The lock-on signal turned green and tracked the target. "Fire!" The explosives fired off towards the ship, which opens its palm again, and they explode against it. "Status?"
"They only managed to splinter the hull." Garnet answered as she looked through the telescope. "I don't see any other change in its descent."
"Damn it." Jason cursed.
"We'll have to take them head on." Garnet informed. "The whole town might be in danger."
"I better make a call." Steven pulled out his phone. "Time for some political favors."
Looking over his shoulder, Jason saw he was calling the mayor. "You have the mayor's number?"
"Yeah." Steven nodded. "After I helped him out last time, we traded numbers. If he needs some inspirational speeches, or I need some favors, we can call each other."
"Okay, just tell him to work with the people my father sent." Jason stated.
Steven nodded before the mayor picked up. "Mayor Dewey…"
Jason spotted Pearl and Greg running to the temple. "What are they…"
"Jason." Garnet planted a hand on his shoulder.
From the way she placed it, and how she talked, the soldier got an uneasy feeling. "How come I get the sense you're going to ask me to do something I won't particularly like?"
"Steven's going to call for an evacuation of the town…" Garnet began.
"I know. What are…" Jason stopped as Greg and Pearl came back from the temple.
This time, they both have a ton of stuff with them, but what got his attention was the cheeseburger backpack slung over Greg's shoulder.
"That's Steven's backpack." Jason looked to the fusion. "Steven's not…"
"Yes, and I want you to go with him." Garnet stated firmly. "I know you don't want to. Not after all the preparation and planning you did for this; however, you and I both know this isn't the most well-defended place on earth."
Jason stared at the maroon gem before sighing reluctantly. "I know."
"That's why we can't have Steven here." Garnet reasoned. "It would be too dangerous for him, and we still don't know exactly who we'll be up against." She looked towards the ship. "That's where you come in."
Garnet removed her visor and turned to Jason, resulting in them looking one another in the eyes.
"I can stay with my friends or go with Steven to fight another day should they fail." Jason thought. "We could throw everything we have at them right now and try to stop them before they get too far. That means we'd be working on the information that is given in the moment.
Information that would be nearly useless for us to use or take advantage of. If I go with Steven, our forces will be split. I might lose some friends, but I'd be able protect Steven. We could make for base since that's the best defended place of Earth.
Plus, they're always gathering information. With that, we could prepare and learn from the enemy. I can only choose one, and only one option is logical." Jason spotted Mayor Dewey coming into town, accompanied by military jeeps. "What do you need?"
"Get Steven out of here." Garnet stated. "Protect him and come up with a better plan should we fail."
Those were Garnet's words to the soldier just before Steven noticed his backpack. "Is that my luggage?"
Pearl and Greg looked at one another uncertainly before the later spoke up. "Who wants to tell him?"
"I'm no good with this stuff!" Amethyst exclaimed, turning away from them.
Jason took a deep breath. "Steven, I know you don't think the gems trust you. You think they see you as some kid, but I've been around long enough. The truth is, we all rely on you. You inspire and bind us. You remind them why they promised to protect this planet."
"Now, you need to be that for all of them." Garnet handed him his megaphone, nodding to the panicking people. "Protect them like your mother once did. It's your destiny."
Steven looked up at her firmly. "I won't disappoint you."
The two hybrids loaded up and drove away.
Outside Beach City: Later…
Jason was driving right behind Greg's van; however, military jeeps brought up the rear, took point, and were spaced throughout the convoy as they lead the way out of the city. As Jason drove, he could feel tears welling up in his eyes.
He hated leaving the others behind, hated turning tail. Logically speaking, this gave Steven and Jason the best chance to protect Earth. Even with that being the case, the soldier's gut was all twisted over this.
"Please be alright you three." Jason thought, not wanting to lose anyone.
The further they got from Beach City, the more that feeling was accentuated. Suddenly, Greg's van swerved as a familiar pink bubble launched out of the van. Rather than come to a stop, Jason took the truck offroad after Steven before coming to a stop near him.
"Steven!" Jason yelled, jumping out and running over to the boy only to see Greg there as well.
"…I have to go back. I must!" Steven declared, Jason crouching beside him. "They don't have my shield. Do you understand?"
Greg looked at him for a moment before he smiled. "Yeah, okay. Just be careful, or I'm going to run fresh out of family." He then looked at the older hybrid. "Take care of him…will you?"
Jason nodded. "I wouldn't have it any other way."
A couple of soldiers came to the edge of the road. "Mr. West, we're sorry for the slow reaction, but it's a mess up here. Are you and the other hybrid, okay?"
"We're fine soldier." Jason declared firmly. "Get the convoy back on the road and keep them safe. I'm going back to fight for our planet with my brother."
"Understood sir!"
The soldiers took off to assist the people in getting things moving.
"Thanks Jason." Steven looked at his father. "Stay with everyone and help keep them safe. We'll figure out some way to get back to Beach City." Before Jason could speak about his truck, Lion suddenly appeared and put a paw on the kid's head. "Oh, this'll work!"
"Where did you come from?" Jason questioned.
Lion merely sniffed in his direction.
Steven got on Lion's back but looked confused when he noticed Jason wasn't joining him. "What's wrong?"
"You got your ride…" Jason walked back to his truck. "…while I got mine. Besides, since we're going back, I might as well come with a present for our new arrivals."
Jason unhooked the tarp to reveal an automatic chain gun.
"What is that?!" Greg asked, surprised at the massive weapon.
"An automatic chain gun equipped with incendiary rounds and bolted onto the back of this truck for stability." Jason answered.
"W-what are you going to do with that?" Greg asked hesitantly.
"Defend our home." Jason jumped down and hopped back into the driver's seat. "Let's go Steven!"
The kid nodded with a determined expression. "See you later everyone!"
Lion and Jason took off, not bothering to hear what everyone had to say.
After a few seconds of driving alongside Steven and Lion, the kid pulled out his phone. "Hey, Connie, it's Steven. Just seeing what you were up to. Don't know if you knew, but there's some crazy stuff going on with a giant space hand, and we all might die. Uh, I guess call me back when you get this. Talk to you soon! Bye!"
Once Steven hung up the phone, Lion opened a portal that the two of them jumped through. Since Jason couldn't follow, he got back onto the road and sped off for the temple while grabbing out his phone. He dialed his dad's number.
"Jason!" Tye exclaimed.
"Listen, I don't have a lot of time, and I need to focus up." Jason stated quickly. "I know you might have heard from the men that Steven and I were driving to base; however, that's not happening. We're heading back to fight with the Crystal Gems. I just want to say, thank you for everything. I know it couldn't have been easy, and I love you."
"Jason, I would not trade our time together for anything." Tye responded. "No matter what I had to do to keep you safe, it was worth it because I love you. Now, you be sure to make those invading gems pay for thinking they can come to Earth uninvited."
"You got it." Jason declared firmly before hanging up.
Beach
Steven arrived atop Lion to see Garnet and Opal, the latter taking aim with her bow.
"Fire!" Garnet ordered.
Without missing a beat, Opal let loose her flurry of arrows. They impacted the ship only to end up achieving nothing.
"Stay here." Steven dismounted Lion. "If something happens, Dad will need a new son."
Garnet and Opal watched as the ship continued down to the planet's surface.
Garnet sighed sadly. "At least Steven and Jason are safe."
"Hey guys!" Unfortunately for her, they didn't listen.
"Steven!" Garnet cried out in surprise.
The surprise of seeing Steven caused Opal to fluctuate and separate.
"How are you here? You can't be here! You must leave now!" Pearl frantically yelled.
"But…" Steven began.
A new sound suddenly accompanied the slowly landing ship, except it was coming from behind them. Everyone turned to see Jason's truck speed around the side of the temple before racing straight to where the others were.
Before he got too close, the soldier hit the brakes and turned his vehicle to the side, drifting the rest of the way to them. Without a word, he slung an assault shotgun onto his back and climbed out of the driver seat before getting in the back.
"GET DOWN!" Jason yelled.
He aimed his chain gun while the gem covered Steven with their bodies. The soldier then pulled the trigger. The bullets fired were enough to leaves dents in the ship. While more effective than the light canons, that still all the chain gun could accomplish.
"Didn't work." Jason muttered frustrated.
He was hoping that the proximity of the ship would allow the bullets to do more.
"You guys came back!" Amethyst shouted with a smile.
"What are you doing!?" Pearl yelled. "Get out of here!"
"Sorry Pearl, but we aren't leaving your three to fight alone!" Jason yelled defiantly. "I was a fool to think the alternative was the best choice. To hell with logic."
"Yeah!" Steven yelled out in agreement.
"It's too late anyways!" Garnet exclaimed. "Just stay behind us!"
The ship finally landed above the water with its palm facing upwards and the fingers on the beach. The force of the ship coming in from the atmosphere and hitting the ground kicked up a massive cloud of dust. The air that followed pushed everyone back to the truck.
"Good, now I won't have to worry about friendly fire." Jason thought.
A ball of some kind rolled up the palm to the index finger and stopped before dissipating to reveal three people. Two of them were familiar, but the tallest was a complete unknown. Jason felt uneasy looking at her, but he kept his sight trained on them.
"That's them, alright." Peridot came into view. "They're the ones who keep breaking my machines."
The tall, unknown figure walked past Peridot. "This is it?"
"Jasper, they keep interfering with my work!" Peridot complained.
Jasper sighed. "Looks like another waste of my time." Jason moved his fingers to the trigger, ready to fire. "Hey, get over here!"
Jason's eyes widened as she grabbed the third person from behind he,r revealing it to be Lapis. The soldier reluctantly moved his fingers off the trigger. Lapis roughly jerked her arm out of Jasper's grip only to gasp upon seeing Steven and Jason.
"Lapis!" Steven exclaimed.
"This is their base?" Jasper asked.
"Yes…" Lapis looked away in disappointment.
"You need to leave immediately!" Garnet commanded.
"Yeah, step off!" Amethyst added.
"This is not a gem-controlled planet!" Pearl finished.
Peridot and Jasper, taking Lapis with them, disregarded their words to jump onto the beach.
"And neither of you saw Rose Quartz?" Jasper addressed the gems with her. "What a shame. I'd hoped to meet her. I was looking forward to beating her to the ground. Now, this is all that's left of her army. A lost, defective Pearl, a puny, overcooked runt, and that shameless display?" She then glanced at Steven. "What is that?"
The Crystal Gems bared their weapons in preparation after she pointed out Steven.
"It calls itself Steven." Peridot informed.
"He's just a human!" Lapis spoke up. "He isn't a threat at all! He's not one of them!"
"I know what a human is." Jasper sneered before looking at the soldier. "What about that one?"
Jason took aim at her and growled out in frustration. The Homeworld gems looked on in surprise. Seeing what he was about to do, Lapis began to move away from Jasper.
"My name is Jason." The soldier declared ruthlessly.
Jasper seemed to take a small interest in this, like a human might with an ant before waving it off. "Whatever." She addressed Peridot before walking towards the ship. "You don't need me for this. Just blast them with the ship."
"LAPIS MOVE!" Jason yelled.
Lapis ended up heading his words and got well away from Jasper before Jason opened fire. Jasper turned around in surprise before the sand and dust kicked up. They created a smokescreen effect on Jasper and Peridot, but the soldier just keeps unloading.
The other Crystal Gems backed up behind him as the rounds kept coming. Eventually, his ammo ran out, leaving the barrel red hot. The dust settled, and no one saw anything at first. Then, a loud stomp impacted the ground.
Any remaining dust and sand was scattered as Jasper sent out a shockwave in all directions. She stood at full height with an annoyed look on her face. Her body was scuffed while black marks adorned most of it.
Peridot poked her head out from behind Jasper with a look of surprise. "What was that!?"
"Fa!" Jasper scoffed and stretched her neck from side-to-side. "Nothing." She gave a snarky smile. "That all you got?"
With a cold sneer, Jason reached down and picked up another rocket launcher before taking aim. "No." He braced himself. "Further back Lapis!"
He then fired as the water gem heeded his warning. Peridot quickly moved, but Jasper remained rooted to her spot defiantly as the rocket hit. In a loud explosion, a bright ball of fire engulfed the area where she was standing, blowing a gust of wind outwards in all directions.
Soon, the blast dissipated leaving behind a plume of smoke that wouldn't last long after. All was silent as everyone waited to see how effective the attack was. Suddenly, a big rock came hurtling his way. Jason lunged off the truck as the rock took off his chain gun.
"Alright enough of this!" Peridot called out.
The Crystal Gems looked on as Peridot stood in front of Jasper with a shimmering, lime green shield in front of her. One of her hand's fingers was opened and extended to make the shield in the first place. It slowly cracked before shattering all together.
Jasper sneered. "Blast them already." The green gem tried to get her controls set back up after the shattering of her shield temporarily disabled them. "NOW!"
Peridot flinched at the outburst and stared at her commanding officer. The next moment her controls were back online, so she activated the ship.
"Fine." She grumbled from being ordered so harshly.
The ship lifted its index finger, taking aim in their direction and started charging power.
"Steven, Jason! Get out of here!" Garnet ordered.
"No!" Steven yelled, answering for them.
"I won't let you risk your lives!" Garnet declared.
"But this is my home, and you're all my family!" Steven yelled passionately, getting his gem to glow while the cannon started increasing in power. "I-I'm a Crystal Gem too!"
Steven moved in front of the group.
"Steven!" Jason yelled.
He tried to grab him; however, the light forced him to cover his eyes. Steven jumped in front of the blast. This caught Jasper's attention since Steven just summoned his shield. Unlike previous times he's pulled it out, this one was by far the biggest.
"Steven…" Jason breathed in awe before said shield began to fold in on itself making Steven collapse from the exertion. "Steven!" He moved and knelt by his side. "Are you alright?"
"Yeah, yeah I am." Steven managed as he catches his breath.
Jason smiled at him. "Nice job."
Steven gave him a tired smile as the soldier helped him stand. "Thanks."
"You!" Jasper was staring at the kid. "You have the power of Rose Quartz!"
"Now do you believe I needed an escort?" Peridot asked.
"Fire a barrage! Widespread!" Jasper ordered.
Peridot complied and input some more commands on her screen. Jason pushed Steven as a beam fired out of the finger of the ship and moved along the ground behind them. At first, there was nothing, but it was a delayed effect as the line exploded.
"Rose, why do you look like that?" Jasper began making her way to them. "Why are you weak?"
Jason pulled out his assault shotgun. "Stay back!"
"You think you can stop me?" Jasper questioned.
"Don't hurt him!" Lapis demanded.
"You knew about this!?" Jasper yelled.
"It wasn't relevant to the mission!" Lapis exclaimed.
The angry gem wasn't having it. "Forget about the mission!"
"What!?" Peridot asked in surprise.
"Yellow Diamond needs to see this…thing." Jasper menacingly stated as she walked up to them.
Jason fired off a shot, stopping her in her tracks. Both stared each other down until Jasper looked at the spot where the bullet hit. The projectile was completely flattened against her skin, and it simply fell to the ground with a light thud making her smirk.
Jasper started advancing again, so Jason opened fire in a futile attempt to stop her. She ended up close enough to dash forward and kick Jason away. He rolled along the sand before hitting the ground near Amethyst and Pearl.
"Jason!" Steven cried out.
Jasper reached down to grab Steven. "Come here you."
"Uh…" Steven stated uneasily.
Garnet pulled herself out of the sand behind Steven and charged Jasper with an angry look.
Jasper smiled. "Oh good."
She pulled out her gem weapon, which was a hammer-like helmet that encompasses her head. She used it to headbutt Garnet's gauntlet strike, creating a powerful shockwave which pushed back Garnet, Steven, and Jasper.
"Steven, run!" Garnet ordered while charging back in.
"Priming Gem Destabilizer." Jasper declared, pulling out an electrical wand.
The quartz thrust the wand straight into Garnet's chest, shocking her for a second. Then, bright yellow lines appeared all over and continued to grow as pieces of her body started to detach. As she fell backward, Garnet's visor fell.
Steven and Jason looked on in horror, with the memory of Pearl being slain by her hologram running through the latter's mind vividly. The difference between that incident and this one was this time being no mere accident.
"You took out my friend's body." Jason let his full ruthlessness out as it mixed with rage ,unlike anything he's felt before. "GARNNNEEEEETTTT!"
Jason ran full sprint towards Jasper after picking up his shotgun. He opened fire, aiming squarely at her head. When his gun ran out of ammo, he threw it at the gem, making her grunt a little. When she recovered from the apparently useless hit, Jason was already lunging at her.
He let his electricity flow at its maximum through his muscles before landing a strong punch. Rather than her head, he hit Jasper's arms, as she'd managed to block, sending her skidding back. Jason pressed the attack, going low for a tackle.
The action surprised her and put the gem off-balance. The soldier gritted his teeth as he suplexed the gem into the ground behind him. Jasper was quick to recover and got to her feet before socking the hybrid. Jason stumbled back from the hit and Jasper rushed him.
The gem reared back her head and brought her gem weapon down, only giving Jason enough time to cross his arms in defense. The force and weight of her attack forced the hybrid to one knee. Jasper then kicked him away from her and Steven.
"Jason!" Steven cried as his brother figure was knocked well past Pearl and Amethyst.
"I was there, you know." Jasper walked towards Steven. "At the first war for this garbage planet. I fought against your armies. I respected your tactics. But this?" She picked the helpless kid up by his shirt. "This is sick!"
"Unhand him!" Pearl yelled, she and Amethyst charging towards Jasper.
"I don't get what you're planning Rose but look! Your base is taken!" Jasper waved to the temple. "Your armies are in ruin!" She waved to the rapidly closing duo of gem. "You have failed!"
She removed her helmet before bringing her head back. At that moment, water splashed Pearl and Amethyst as a figure moved past them. Jason slammed an open palm into Jasper, forcing her to let go of Steven.
She was sent sailing through the air for a moment before landing roughly on her back and sliding for a few feet. Jasper groaned as she got into a crouching position and looked at Jason with hatred. The soldier stood tall before his friends with water moving around his body.
"STAY AWAY FROM MY BROTHER!" Jason yelled defiantly.
He summoned his five blades and let them orbit while Pearl and Amethyst joined him. His intended opponent recognized the weapons.
"It can't be!" Jasper summoned her weapon immediately. "There's no way! Though, you have lighting and the water…the swords!"
"What?" Jason asked.
"You can't be them! They told me they were worthless! That you were shattered!" She clenched and unclenched her fists harshly. "You're supposed to be two. If you are them, why are you here with them!?"
Amethyst, Pearl, and Lapis were just as confused as Jason. When the soldier looked behind him at his brother, Steven shrugged in confusion.
"Wait, she doesn't want me." It suddenly clicked for the soldier. "She must know something about my gems Lapis didn't." His eyes widened. "Look out!"
He pushed his arms out to knock Pearl and Amethyst away. Almost immediately after, volts of electricity shot through his body. The remaining Crystal Gems and Lapis stared on in horror as Jason fell to the sand and convulsed.
Sparks were shooting off his body as everyone looked to Peridot standing behind Jasper with her right limb enhancer glove transformed into a sort of shock blaster. Her fingers moved back to attach to the sides of her glove.
"Well, that's one problem dealt with." Jasper looked pleased. "Time for the rest."
Despite their best efforts, Jasper knocked the rest out quickly, and that was the sight which greeted Jason as he bolted to a sitting position. Electricity from the weapon discharged harmlessly into the ground as it moved through him.
"No!" Jason thought angrily.
Jasper turned her attention to him, and the two of them stared each other down. Just as he was getting back up, the gem rushed in and snatched him by the throat.
"Was that it?" Jasper brought him close to her face. "Is that everything you could possibly throw at me? After everything you were made to be, the blessings you were given, this is it?"
Jason didn't care that he suddenly had water powers, and he most certainly didn't care he could never have trained with them before. All he cared about right now was defeating this gem. To get the best chance at that, he had to apply a little science with his lighting and water.
Jason let the two mix, which immediately proved to be a horrible idea. His body wasn't used to this. It had no prior mapping to make this work. Quite frankly, Jason didn't care, even as pain started to rack his body.
He just summoned all his strength in that moment and planted his feet against Jasper hard. The water and electricity boosted his power. The gem let him go as she was knocked back once more. This time, Jason stood as water and electricity flowed around him fiercely.
He brought the helmet down and called his swords back, coating them in his elements. Right now, right here he'd act as the super soldier and force these Homeworld Gems off his planet…no matter the cost to his body.
"Oh, now this is getting better." Jasper chuckled. "Finally, a challenge." She formed her helmet. "Let's go then!"
They both charged, and when they collided open palm to fist, sand was blown away as they formed a crater. Jasper moved to headbutt Jason, but he lunged back before sending in his swords to collide with her helmet. Jasper was sent skidding back from the impact.
Jason then pushed the attack, slamming open palms into the gem and forcing her to slide back from each hit. Jasper eventually slammed into the finger tip of the ship before looking down at her torso, which had been heavily singed by the water enhanced lighting.
She smirked before charging her opponent. Jason sent his swords flying at her, but Jasper either deflected them or dodged as she got close. They met open palm to fist rapidly. Eventually, Jasper saw the opening she needed and slammed her fist into Jason's gut.
His swords came back around, but the gem grabbed the hybrid before lunging to the left avoiding them. She then slammed his body into the ground. Jason planted his hands and managed to spin, freeing himself. He then sprung off his hands, planting his feet into the gem's stomach.
Jasper skid back again before drawing the gem destabilizer. Now, Jason had to contend with that mixed into his opponent's attacks. He was afforded more than enough time to take in the weapon, giving him the opportunity to dodge it well.
Jasper did manage to slam a fist down on the super soldier's head, but he just used that by going low. From there, he lunged into the gem taking her to the ground. He got above her and began laying into the gem with powerful strikes while collecting every sword just above him.
Jasper eventually managed to get her arms up, blocking a strike. Jason used this opportunity to vault off the arm revealing the swords dangling above. They came down fast, but Jasper just managed to roll to the right avoiding it.
By now, Jason's breathing was haggard under the helmet. His body was sweating, and it wasn't completely from the battle. Slapping together his electricity with the newly discovered water in such a way wasn't doing him any favors.
Just as Jasper began to charge him, the water and electricity vanished. Jason fell to his hands and knees while retracting the helmet. This was because he had to throw up bile and blood. His face was pale, and his body ached all over.
Lapis looked on in concern. "Jason…"
Jason heard her voice and looked up, meeting her eyes before looking down at the sand. Lapis didn't understand what was wrong with him, but someone she truly cared about looked like he was in a lot of pain.
"Well, you certainly gave me a challenge, but just like all the rest, you failed." Jasper declared.
She booted him in the face hard enough that the weakened hybrid was knocked unconscious.
dindagangleader14: Yep, here is the first part of the final of season 1
