Preface: After my character's initial debut in Sailor Moon Defenders, I tried finding out how I can expand the character's growth a bit more. It took a couple of years, but eventually, I ended up coming up with this story.

For Context: This story coincides with the Defenders of the Earth series. Inspired by Marzena's story "Defenders of the Earth: This is Their Story", I created these chapters which would be set during certain points of the series, and the Defenders will be making at least one appearance during the story, hence the crossover.

Loose Ends Tied

Tori looked on as Methos led her and the others into the room where Richie was being held. The group looked on to see Duncan laying dead, impaled on a shard of debris.

"Oh, Duncan," Amanda shook her head before she removed the shard from his back, "There we go."

Tori walked over to Richie, who was sleeping peacefully, "He really is under a spell."

She held his hand, "Richie? Hold on. I have defeated Zorelda. I'm about to wake you up."

Then she leaned towards him, "This is like a fairy tale, except it's the maiden who wakes up her prince."

Tori kissed Richie. Moments later, Richie started stirring and he slowly woke up. He looked over at his fiance, "Tori?"

"Yes," Tori smiled at him, "Yes, it me, Richie. I won. You are free now."

"Tori," Richie smiled before he hugged her, "Oh, thank God."

"Welcome back," April told him.

Richie stretched, "Thanks. Where's Mac?"

Duncan gasped, reviving from his death. He looked around the room before asking, "Tori won?"

"Tori won," Amanda answered.

"And Mongo is safe once again," Katarina declared once again.

"And I didn't have to do much," Flash crossed his arms and rolled his eyes.

"I'm glad that worked out," Aura replied.

Richie looked at Methos, "It's good that you're back in one piece, Methos."

"Thank you," Methos replied, "and I am glad you are back and awake."

Richie chuckled, "Thanks. Man, I'm never going to live this down."

"What do you mean?" Jedda asked.

"My beautiful fiance had to kiss me to wake me up," Richie answered, "and it was like a fairy tale. Except…..instead of the prince waking up the maiden, it's the princess or…..maiden that wakes up her prince."

Everyone in the room shared a chuckle in response.

Duncan nodded at Richie with a small smile. Richie nodded at his teacher with a small smile. Tori could tell they were trying their best to make amends, but they still had a little bit before the bridges could fully be mended between student and teacher.

-Defenders-Chronicles-Highlander-

Duncan looked on as the heroes were all grouped outside the castle.

"Are you sure you are wanting to head back home?" Castra asked.

"Yeah," Duncan nodded, "We need to get back to our business back on Earth."

"What is going to happen with you guys now?" Methos asked.

"I will be back in charge of the castle," Krotan answered, "and I will be letting my mother and Katarina to reside in the castle with me."

Katarina and Zyna looked on in awe.

"It was my idea," Castra spoke up, "I thought it would be a great idea for Krotan to bond with his mother and sister, and Katarina should have the right to know about her family, even if she's not next in line to rule Mongo."

Zyna smiled, "I think that is thoughtful of you."

EARTH, PARIS

The Defenders were gathered with Richie, Tori, Amanda, Duncan and Methos at Maurice's restaurant.

"It is good to see you guys again," Maurice told his friends.

"Good to see you again too, Maurice," Duncan replied before he proceeded to introduce Maurice Lalonde to the Defenders of the Earth.

"Nice to meet you, Maurice," Flash shook his hand.

"Any friend of MacLeod's is a friend of mine," Maurice replied, "Let me guess: an engagement party?"

"Exactly," Flash answered, "Not only is it the engagement party for Richie and my niece Tori, but it's also a homecoming dinner for my daughter April."

"Wonderful," Maurice replied, "Let me know if you need anything."

He left the heroes to their celebration.

"Here's to the happily engaged couple!" Amanda made a toast to Richie and Tori.

"To Richie and Tori!" the other heroes, and even Maurice added in.

"Thanks," Richie and Tori replied in unison.

"And here's to my daughter for graduating the space academy," Flash made a toast to April.

"To April!" Maurice and the heroes added in.

"Thank you," April replied happily, "Man, I'm so glad that Richie and Tori made it back here with their heads intact."

"Isn't that the truth?" Richie grinned.

"So, when will you making wedding preparations?" Amanda asked.

"We'll get back to you on that," Tori answered.

"Definitely," Kshin suggested, "We could ask Joe for the music, and stuff."

"No," Duncan shook his head, "I wouldn't count on it."

"Oh yeah," Kshin replied, "You guys had the falling out."

"Oh, I have something for you," Amanda said before she cleared her throat. Duncan then handed Richie his new sword.

"This is your new sword," Duncan told his student, "Amanda went through the trouble to get it for you."

Richie took his new sword, "Wow. Thanks."

"It reminds me of the sword Graham Ashe used to wield," Duncan stated.

Tori and Richie shared a kiss.

"I think we should get some sleep so we can get ready to go home tomorrow," April suggested.

"What home?" Rick replied, "Zorelda destroyed it, remember?"

"Oh yeah," April shook her head.

"We're not completely homeless," Mandrake spoke up, "I have two locations we can use for Monitor. I have a place here in Paris in case MacLeod needs our help."

"Thanks," Duncan nodded, "I will make note of that."

"And I also have a place in New York we can also use for a new base as well," Mandrake added.

"New York?" Duncan shot up, "That's where Connor lives."

"Connor?" April glanced at the Highlander.

"Connor MacLeod," Duncan answered, "my cousin, fellow clansmen."

"Sir Lancelot," Richie couldn't help but to blurt out.

"Oh. Is he immortal too?" April asked.

"Yeah," Duncan nodded.

"We'll say hi to him for you if we ever come across him," Lothar replied.

Duncan nodded, "Good luck with that."

Author's Note: Season 4 is officially wrapped up! If you want to see the Season 5 episode "The End of Innocence" covered, I recommend reading the fanfiction "The Magic Within", which also covers the Justice League Dark movie. Season 5 will be coming soon, and it will be the final arc to this story.
