The way things went
The System of Lylat and its Planets had seen many conflicts throughout its history, some minor some greater.
The ones that had the greatest impact on Lylat are those which shaped everyone into who they are today, but in order to see things from the right angle and understand, one has to start a few years prior.
When all started...
The I lylat War
Lylat year 3512-3513
The First Lylat war befell the System years after Dr. Andross had been banished.
He had, in his lust for power, conducted experiments on Corneria a planet with a peaceful prospering society.
After a heated discussion with general Pepper who had repeatedly ordered him stop with his experiment's
and terminate his documentations of them, Dr. Andross had snapped and in his insane fit he released an experimental weapon which caused an Explosion within Corneria City in which hundreds of Civilians of were killed.
As punishment for taking no heed to the warnings
of the Planets ruling council, and the destruction, bloodshed and grief his actions had caused, he was sent to trial. The Council found him guilty of
first-class treason and sentenced him to be banished to the dead planet Venom thinking he would surely Parisch in its hellish environment.
Their assumption had been false and led to the First great Conflict in Lylat's History.
Dr. Andross returned, rising from Venoms dead sand and drunk on his new power he eagerly reached out trying to claim what he thought rightfully belonged to him. All of Lylat.
The war started with great losses on Conerian side. Their peaceful society was not prepared for what terror had sought them out.
Luckily with the help of Star Fox, a mercenary team founded by the deceased James McCloud. The Vulpine had left his life after he and Peppy Hare had been betrayed by one of their team members and ultimately gave his life to save Hare's.
Now the team was led by Fox McCloud who had inhered it from his Father James McCloud

In order to overcome what tremendous task ley before them they were given newly developed prototypes of super high-performance combat fighters, the so called Arwing's, to help Corneria and its Defense force to repel the aggressor and strike the evil down at Venoms Core.
After many fights and great loss on both Cornerian and Venomian sides
Fox and his Team succeeded, but still, Andross himself fled and survived leaving a bitter taste on their Victory.
The II Lylat War
Lylat year 3514-3515
One years after the first war had ended, the mad self-elected Emperor of Venom had returned.
The Primate had rebuilt his army and a new home a flying stronghold, named the Astropolis, an orbital space fortress who sat in close proximity of the lylat systems sun.
From its safety, he coordinated a massive attack on Corneria using his new fleet, a variety of interplanetary missiles launched from occupied planets in Lylat which he and his army had laid siege on and Star wolf a mercenary team he had hired.
Star Fox was called to aid Corneria once more
Fox McCloud, Slippy Toad, Peppy Hare and Falco Lombardi together with their team's newest additions Fay Spaniel and Miyu Lynx Accepted the job.
Ultimately Corneria's Military forces together with Star Fox were able to push the Venomian Forces back and disable all warheads closing in on their home in the nick of time. which gave them way to Lauch their own offensive attack against the Astropolis.
They succeeded in infiltrating the space fortress and destroy Andross core brain, this triggered Astropolis self-destruction and shortly after, the Fortress remains plummeted into Lylat's sun completely being obliterated in a sea of fire.
Lylat was saved once more by Star Fox.

The Plight of Sauria
Lylat year 3517
Two Year after the Second Lylat war, a Civil war which had been caused by the greedy General Scales in his pursue of power, befell the normally peaceful planet Sauria.
He had enslaved a tribe called the Sharp Claws and together with their help the reptile dove into a mad hunt for Dominion.
Scales had removed the Spell stones from the Force point Temples which caused the Planet to slowly disrupt.
Krystal, a former resident of the lost planet of Cerinia had received a distress call from one of the Planets Inhabitants. Originally, she had been on the search for what had caused her home planets destruction but still, she landed planet site to investigate.
Upon learning of what had transpired up to the moment of her arrival, the Vixen decided to help and restore the Earth Walkers' home to its former glory.
After releasing the key components to save the Planet, the so called Krazoa spirits, she was attacked and incarcerated by Andross, who had become nothing more but a disembodied spirit.
Team Star Fox
Consisting of Fox McCloud, Slippy Toad, Peppy Hare
Falco Lombardi and Fox McCloud had a fallout at one point after which the Avian had decided to leave the team. Fay Spaniel and Miyu Lynx as well had bid their goodbyes after the events of the II Lylat war.
Reason being, they both had been only a temporary addition and had decided to try bounty hunting as a duo.
Upon his arrival, Fox had found Krystal's staff which the Vixen had lost in a fight on her ways to Krazoa Palast, after General Peppers request not to use his blaster, this had been a welcome alternative weapon to defend himself from possible threats.
As his journey progressed, he learned of the Sprits, Spell Stones and how to return everything back to normal.
Near the end of it all he and General Scales fought over Sauria's Future as Andross who had been hidden up until now interfered demanding the remaining Spirits to fully revive himself.
Fox was given the last spirit by General Scales, he freed Kystal from her prison and entered his awing to follow Andross and fight him in the planet's outer atmosphere with the help of his team Former member Falco Lombardi, he was able to once more subdue Andross and his evil doings ending the conflict on Sauria once and for all.
After that Krystal Joined his team.

The Aparoid invasion
Lylat year 3519
This was a major galactic conflict.
It started when Star Fox worked on an operation against Andrew Oikonny on Fortuna.
They got into contact with an unknown life form, and upon analyzing it closer after retrieving its core memory, they learned of the coming invasion.
Fox and his team learned from General Pepper how devastating it would be for Lylat if the Aparoid's found their way into their territory, due to events that transpired 17 years ago, in which a small partition of the Cornerian fleet stumbled upon one specimen and nearly had been completely wiped out by it.
A wild hunt began, for in order to learn more they needed a specimen or rather a core which was still one hundred percent intact.
On their mission to save Lylat once more, they had to fight old and new enemy's.
One amongst many others, was Pigma Dengar. A traitor who had long ago sold out Corneria and his friends James McCloud and Peppy Hare.
His actions had cost James McCloud his life and it nearly had claimed Peppy's as well if luck had not been on Hares side and James hadn't sacrificed himself to save his friend.
But Ultimately Dengar Perished when he was assimilated by the Aparoids after he tried to hide in the outskirts of Meteo, after he had been chased down on Sargasso Space zone by Star Fox.
Then, there was Star Wolf. Who had made Star Fox their arch enemy giving them a hard time on Sargasso Space zone as they tried to get a hold of Dengar who had stolen the Aparoid core Fox had been tasked to secure.
But as The Invasion Finally reached Home, Star Wolf realized the only way to sustain the status quo was to work together, so they helped Star Fox in defending Corneria with all they had.
Later on, after they barely succeeded
in saving what was left of Corneria, Beltino Toad had Discovered the
Aparoids Home world.
After a virus, which would trigger the Aparoids Self Destruction (Apoptosis) was invented by Slippy and himself, they prepared everything to start a counter-attack.
In a final attempt to save their home, they planned on using an Orbital Gate to travel to the Aparoid Home world, but not without further interference from their adversary.
The mechanical-Insectoid's, who had up to this point learned about Corneria's plans, threw everything they had at Corneria and launched
a full-scale counter-attack to prevent Star Fox and the remains of the Cornerian Fleet from reaching their goal.
They used some kind of Gateway of their own and
launched rockets to destroy the Orbital Gate.
With strenuous effort, the C.D.F. Fleet, Star Wolf and Star Fox pushed them back, quickly proceeding with their plan and shortly after, they all together traveled through the Gate ready to engage in a final fight.
Travelling through endless corridors of the Aparoid Home World evading attacks and fighting through enemy lines until reaching the center of the nest
which held the queen itself.
The conflict ended, when they successfully defeated the waves of enemy's thrown at them and infected the Aparoid queen successfully with the Virus.

Human's and Cornerian's came into contact with each other in a not to pretty way.
It was more of an accident in which the first hyper drive invented by Humanity was tested.
The experiment had a fatal outcome
The unmanned Flightcraft code name -Ad Astra- was considerably small with 5,5 m in length
3m broad and
2m in height
But giving the fact that it was unmanned and its sole purpose concluded to test experimental technology, it was enough.
Humanity hoped to be able to reach out to unknown recourses further away from home without losing years for traveling through the void of space. All this would correlate with a success of this test flight.
The start went well and after exiting earth's exosphere the workload on its Fusion reactor was increased.
It was fluctuating but still within predicted parameters and after 35,43 seconds it succeeded in reaching its max speed of 0.5 lightspeed
149896 Km/s or 93141,0562 Mi/s
This accomplishment was met with a wave of applaud, but the joy was short lived as Add Astra lost contact and thus, control from home base shortly after.
With no way to control it, Ad Astra had switched from a flight craft to an uncontrollable interplanetary Projectile, keeping its speed even after its thrusters had died off.
After 24 Hours it had traveled Km / 8047387258,41088 Mi
and after 6 days or 144 Hours Km / ,4653 Mi
It had outpaced the long dead Probe Voyager 1 who up to this moment had been the Farthest traveled object made by Humanity.
The Probe had been launched by NASA on September 5, 1977 in cape Canaveral which up to this day, had traveled approximately
Km or 46043605344,786 Mi in over 141 years whilst Ad Astra took merely a week to get past the old record.
Ad Astra had excited the known galaxy and entered uncharted frontier but unfortunately, the first other terrestrial object
it came into contact with, was the C.D.F. Dreadnought class Cruiser Varion.
It struck the vessel straight through the bow and considering the speed, the effect was disastrous and nearly instantaneous, even for an object of such a small size.
It had punched through the shiels with ease in an instant and with no chance to react Varion was obliviated from existence.
Destroying it completely with no survivors.
After learning of Varion's fate, Scientist on Corneria worked on overtime filtering background noise and radiation trying to find out what hat taken out this behemoth in one shot.
After day's they finally found a trace travelling way beyond Lylat.
With the way things had went the past years, Corneria had amped up their defense and the way they handled possible threats.
They still were ways off a violent species but had no wished to be the end of a possible Foodchain. C.D.F. wasted no time in assembling a fleet to investigate and if needed destroy anything considered a threat to Lylat and its Planet's.
They used the Orbital Gate and coordinates the lab coats had found, to travel close enough to investigate.
Naturally, Humanity picked up on the strange occurrence within their territory.
Colonies and outposts had their own radar systems connected in a network to Home-world acting like buoys in dark waters.
Some Countries tried to hail communication of the Intruders
but failed in understanding the Language.
Others did not go as far as to establish anything and blindly launched an attack on the Cornerian fleet which nearly triggered a war with the extra-terrestrials.
If not for General Peppers intervening to retreat and keep observing.
Humans were monitored and classified as too barbaric for Lylatian taste.
Had they been at each other's throats constantly fighting over resources wasting them and the life's they send out to conquer said supplies instead of trying to build a prospering society, they basically perverted a possible Happy life into a nightmarish prison for themselves.
It may be true, that not every Human behaved like this. As many tried to just lead a normal and peaceful life, but their overall society was too torn to be part of Lylat, at least yet.
The Cornerian fleet had observed enough, all the while feeding their computers with the different languages spoken on this o' so weird Planet to analyze it until they were able to send out a unified message.
When the moment came, they reestablished contact with Earth sending out a crude formed message.
#resist from using violence#
It did not meet everyone taste as some nations saw a threat spouting from a conquerors mouth.
whilst some fell into heated discussions on how to deal with this and if there could a common ground be found, others went into an uproar and once more resorted to a more violent behavior. Again, launching an attack at the possible invaders.
Star Fox had been with the fleet but was ordered to standby, they all but watched in a mixture worry, confusion, disgust and disappointment at the Human behavior.
Krystal was the most disgusted by what played Infront of her.
Humans did not in the slightest appreciate the present of Life and the Home they were given... it was disgusting how they destroyed everything for their own gain, they reminded her of a certain Venomian emperor in a way and very much could have been the ones responsible destroying her home the though alone was enough to run shivers down her spine, to the very top of her tail.
Earth's attack closed in on the fleet but this time the Cornerian fleet was prepared and it did not take too long for the nations which initialized the Attack to realize their error, as the more advanced fleet laid siege on them.
Although Human technology was primitive compared to Cornerian standard and it did not show directly, it still needed some
effort from Cornerian side to overwhelm them.
And yet, this was too easy.
A nation calling for war attacking others but yet being so completely unprepared, something did not sit right.
It all became clear that whatever had transpired in Lylat and had happened to Varion could not have been an attack of malicious intent.
To General Pepper it felt wrong all the way.
"Have we become what we have fought in all these conflicts?" the old Hound
questioned the council and himself.
Although not all of the council agreed with it, calling him to soft, the Hound ordered the fleet to fall back and wait for further orders.
giving Earth and its Countries the chance to tend to their injured.
And reconsider...
Earths leaders, after a lengthy discussing came to the conclusion that the intruders would not leave anytime soon so in order to get a move on things and hopefully in the right direction, they contacted the extraterrestrials asking for a peace treaty
Pepper himself answered
"Trying to find a common ground is the right step forward" he accepted the proposal.
In his conversation with Earth's leaders, he laid open the reason
of their arrival.
Upon hearing the outcome of their test with Ad Astra, the responsible Nations felt ashamed of what had transpired
because of a failed test flight, realizing their error had cost many lives and could have triggered an intergalactic war. They could not apologize enough for how much pain they unwittingly had caused.
Pepper felt that they were sincere but it would not bring anyone back.
Even if the 'Attack' had not been intended it still had happened and it had cost many lives of good men and woman, mothers and father, brother and sisters which would never come home to feel the warm rays of Lylat's sun and see loved ones again.
Pepper knew this could not be ignored thus, because of that and the fact that they had twice attacked on sight after tries to establish contact, a contract filled with sanctions was written other's it proscribed Humanity to colonize any Planet Moon or greater Asteroid and or build Stations and Outposts within or close to Lylat or outside of a radius of
Km / ,683 Mi
measured from Earth System's sun
This resulted in the loss of several possible mining sites which had been spotted while charting the star system in years prior.
Furthermore, trading or working outside of the established no man's land was allowed under special conditions and only if the Cornerian Council considered it as beneficial for Lylat and its colonies.
In exchange Corneria agreed to help rebuild, and Earth would be allowed to act freely, as far as a bird's cage entailed the meaning of freedom.
Earth, seeing no other choice, accepted these conditions.

Venomian Conflict
The III Lylat War?
Lylat year 3524
Earth year 2123
Peace was not meant forever, it had lasted a little over three years after the events with Earth, and came to a sudden end, hitting Corneria like thunder.
It all began without a warning...
Venom had started a coordinated attack on outer colonies and C.D.F. outposts tearing into them simultaneous to create as much harm as possible and by the end of their bloodshed they had succeeded in ending more than over 240.000 Civilian and 50.000 Military lives in one swift move.
The C.D.F. - H.Q. located on Corneria close to Corneria-City acted as fast as possible to establish support for the unknown fate of their stations and enacting with sending out multiple clusters mixed of patrol ships, S teams and dreadnought class Cruiser's filled to the brim with the latest models of Arwing Type VI fighters and an overall troop strength of 12.000 faithful men and woman to eliminate any remaining threat.
Which proved to be a fatal mistake.
Venom had left the colonies and outpost mostly intact, repurposing them for their own needs.
All personal and Civilian's had been killed and several copies of F.O.F. tags had been modified and left behind ether giving off an Active ping and/or generating body heat and other readings simulating a living being.
Upon reaching a certain proximity the trap snaped shut.
Long range communication was jammed so that any tries to call for help or warn the other fleets where futile.
Then the stations and outposts apparently in need of help, turned into giant EMP bombs by overcharging their modified power generators as soon as their proximity alert's detected vessels within a certain reach.
The blast in which each Station went up rendered the complete fleet and their fighters useless.
Then, they came.
Swarms of Venomian fighters accompanied by cruisers had been hiding in dark distance waited with their systems dormant to avoid damage and the Sensores of the Cornerian fleet for the right moment to strike.
After the EMP Wave died off they activated and made their way towards their waiting prey.
The red fighters washed wave after wave over the immobile vessels and together with the strong canons of their fleet's cruisers it did not take long until the once proud Cornerian fleet had been decimating to nothing but pieces of bended steel, creating a graveyard for both, craft and its crew.
With this, another 12.000 lives were lost forever, no body to be retrieved no grave to mourn at.
Venom's plan was working.
They decimated outposts and crippled Corneria's fleet to weaken them and prohibit the C.D.F. to encircle them and attack from behind.
"Surprisingly strategic thinking" as the office of naval intelligence described it later on for tactical thinking had never been one of Venom's strong points.
The timespan in which C.D.F. still oblivious about their troops fate left enough room for Venom to reassemble their troops and make their way towards the main target, Corneria.
Long range sensors warned Corneria of the incoming threat giving them barely enough time to react and enact a counter which did not go without further losses on military side. The clash was short but fierce ultimately ending in the repelling of Venoms Forces by Corneria's Defense belt but still this had left scars in both Military strength and the trust the Civil body had in their protector's prowess.
The tide of war was changing and Venom was not as incompetent as they thought, with the aftermath still inbound imbedded in an unknown future which yet had to rear its ugly head.
Lylat year near end 3524
Earth year near end 2123
The fights had lasted a little over six months now devastating the out rim of the Lylat System, forcing Corneria to constantly keep up with new ships, weapons and soldiers to keep the adversary at bay.
Even for Corneria's Technologically Advanced society it was becoming strenuous, for Venom never slacked off in finding new ways to creep ever closer to their home.
Venom had never fought so fierce and the battles had thinned the defense belt around the Planet to nothing but a hand full of ships, for most where needed elsewhere slowly but surely bleeding it dry of its protection from outside Forces.
For the most part, it was still quiet and save around the planetoid but naturally the effects of the protract armed conflict did not go by unnoticed by the public.
Keeping an ongoing war secret had never been a point of the C.D.F. and for starters, they never tried to, not that it would have been possible to do so considering the fact that over the course of the last year in which the war had started it had been nearly a Constand downward spiral for Corneria.
In their need Corneria even reached out to Humanity.
Not begging but pointing out benefits like technology and other advantages an alliance would offer.
Humanity thou had decided. Their turbulent past with Corneria in the form of past quarrels and clashes even after the initial conflict had ended, still fresh in mind.
Had they, not so far in the past, lost their own conflict with them which hat put a halt in colonization past their own planetary system.
Still, they accepted some aspects of an alliance but denied, amongst other points, 'Active support' in an all-out war. excusing themselves with their own preparations for an unknown future
Instead, they offered a minimum of support including minor work and expanded trading and exchanging resources and technology.
What was written down in the Documentation of the established alliance
did not meet everyone's agreement among the higher ups.
"As if throwing the dog a bone" an Officer who had felt offended by what was supposed to be an 'alliance' of some sorts had described it in a private message directed at General Pepper.
The General did accept their conditions with the words "One step at a time"
The deeper meaning in his words meant that time will create trust, trust will form bounds with other nations. The Hound understood that as dire as their situation was their rocky past could not be undone, mistakes were made und all that mattered now was that they mustn't do further ones.
On the contrary they should try to move forward or their Future could be no more.
Thus, a support line between Earth and Corneria was established
CDF Carrier's would meet vessels from Earth halve way to prevent any direct meddling from Earth in their affairs.
First it was solely limited of only resources such as machines, weapons of the ballistic type and the needed projectiles, but later on even personal was allowed aboard C.D.F. Vessels entering Corneria's industries and Military structures.
Their job was, for the most part instructing CDF Personal on how to operate Human tech and along with the scientists from Space dynamic's and its sister company's finding new methods to merge the best of both technology's.
Most Human tech was labeled as primitive and outdated but interestingly along with Humanity's history and knowledge in Warfare which would not be something one should boast about, it proved to be Very effective against Venom.
This raised the question of, if Corneria would still have won the war against Earth if humans had been more advanced in technology.
The though Inciting fear and Vetos from higher ups that giving up said advanced tech would come around to stab them in the back at one point or another
'Growing their own demise' so to say.
With no other option left these concerns were disregarded and it was decided to concentrate on the problems of the present. One can only worry for the future if said future was a possibility.
It was a steep and rocky path, tension between both species sometimes resulted in 'differences of opinions' to put it nicely.
Not rarely those differences resulted in demands to
"Remove the Primitive brutes" as Gus Racoon Vice engineer in one of Space-Dynamics Branches once had angrily stated his wishes, while he was holding an icepack to his head as a direct result from when he had picked the wrong 'Brute' to make an example of.
Quarrels like these were met with a mild penalty for both sides, mostly consisting of a fine or being berated and grounded. Progress had a higher priority than punishment and Joining Forces was still a 'work in process'.
Like this the months passed in which a seemingly none stop stream of resources in the form of ships and soldiers where send out and at first their tactic of Joining Forces seemed to work in a way but Venom never stopped to adapt and soon the advancements Corneria made in repelling the adversary pretty much came to a halt, confining the frontlines to a constant back and forth with one force trying to subdue the other and Vi savers. Like this the war went on spreading fear among the citizen of Corneria.
The Fear for the Future and the fact that encountering Humans had become a common everyday experience was pushing it, not just for a hand full of Cornerian's.
If thinking on a biological level, it was only natural, if two Apex Predators suddenly were forced to live on the same island, the outcome was not always a preferable one, if one had to give an explanation to this clash of cultures.
The squabble between Human's and Cornerian's, and the growing threat to be annihilated from Venom fueled disputes between fractions amongst the population of Corneria's very own society, a unified call loudly demanded in depth answers from the higher ups, and a statement explicitly from general Peper the head of the CDF.
Which has yet to be announced.
Unbeknownst to the Civil body things started to return to where they started with Corneria being cornered they once more were forced to contact Earth for a change and an extension of some points of their alliance.
The Human leaders addressed the request with the words
"We need time to berate" leaving General Pepper with no other option but to wait for their decision.
Thus, he could not meet the demands of his citizen as long as he had no answer from Earth.
His silence only gave even more fuel to Voices shouting ever louder that this was nothing but prolonging the uninvadable. Conflicts nowadays more than often ended in either a tie, in which both parties had to withdraw from the frontlines, or getting completely annihilated by the other forces fast approaching to aid their comrades in subduing the opposing nation.
The later more often turned out to be the Cornerian side of the story. Leaving the machinery of CDF - Space Dynamics no choice but to keep operating on full throttle. Their cogs never stood still desperate graining away in their attempt to repair and salvage as much firepower as possible trying to give those that where send out to fight the means to keep the sense in the words,
'To Serve and Protect.'
Which leads us to the present day nearly 16 months into the third Lylat war after Venom's initial attack, and nearly 6 years after Terran Conflict.
