For those who were wondering when Marx and Magolor would have their wedding ceremony, this is where it starts in this multi-chapter vignette.

Vesa spent another week planning and creating gifts for her friends, hoping she could bring smiles to their faces on the day of the Yuletide celebration. At intervals, she would keep up with practicing her spells or even learn to make a potion under Fecto Elfilis's careful supervision.

The end of week now meant a different special occasion and Vesa spent half an hour in the morning checking her wardrobe on what to wear to the upcoming wedding. After she picked out an orange dress with yellow ruffles at the hem of the skirt, she gathered matching shoes and made her way to the foyer to slide into her winter gear. She met up with Elfilis and Elfilin in the courtyard.

"I'm ready to go!" Vesa announced.

Elfilin tilted his head, his tail swaying side to side.

"Where are the others?" Elfilin clamored.

"Don't worry," Vesa assured the small chinchilla, "they'll come out soon."

Vesa caught a glimpse of a formal robe Elfilis was currently wearingwhich was bright blue with a golden trim decorating the hems while the inner fabric was almost pitch black dotted with countless stars. She stepped closer to her alien lover when the door opened and Hyness exited the tower with Franisca and Flamberge following close behind.

"So," Flamberge chirped, "where's the rendezvous point?"

"We just need to be out in the open and visible so they can pick us up," Elfilis explained.

"It shouldn't be that far out, right?" Elfilin clamored.

Vesa smiled and gave Elfilin a pat on the head.

"It'll take a while," she answered, "but it's worth walking in the snow."

Elfilis took their chance and lifted Vesa onto their shoulders. She gave them a puzzled look while she clambered her hands around to perch them somewhere on their head.

"Uhh, Elfilis?" Vesa pointed out, "I don't need to be carried all the time. I'm fine with walking."

"Oh, sorry," Elfilis blurted.

Elfilis lowered Vesa to the ground with a sigh. She still gave Elfilis a reassuring smile before she focused her gaze on Hyness, Fransisca and Flamberge.

"Anyways," she proclaimed, "let's go!"

Vesa, Elfilis, Hyness, Fransisca, Flamberge and Elfilin began their trek through the snowy fields. The young human woman smiled at the sight of two nearby Cororis building a snowman. Elfilis walked slower, feeling something curl up and die on the inside. Their thoughts spiraled while they analyzed the situation, perplexed as to why Vesa would turn down their recent gesture. Their ears drooped slightly lower than normal as sadness began trickling into their mind. Several minutes of walking passed when Vesa made a brief glance at her alien partner. She took note of the glistening shame in their eyes.

"Is something wrong?" she paused.

Elfilis blushed as their fur bristled.

"I," they hesitated, "I suppose I'm not good at romance and I'm trying my best, even if physical interaction is something I still struggle with. My attempt from earlier seemingly ended in failure. I'm trying to understand why a small rejection is painful for me."

Vesa tilted her head.

"Is that what it is?" she clarified.

Vesa took a few steps closer.

"At least I appreciate the offer," she assured them with a soft smile, "if you ask me, I'm still not used to being in a romantic relationship either."

"I know," Elfilis sighed sadly, their gaze lowering to the ground.

Vesa held out her hand.

"How about we hold hands?" Vesa suggested.

Elfilis perked up their feelers.

"That…would be nice," they slowly nodded.

Even when Elfilis was still in a bit of a depressive state, their mood brightened a little by the reassurance that they hadn't pushed Vesa away nor did her declining to be carried have any malicious intent. Elfilis took Vesa's hand in a gentle grip and they both walked side by side, keeping their gaze focused on the dirt road.

The hike through the snow continued on until they spotted Kirby, Meta Knight, Bandee, Dedede and Zan Partizanne up ahead. Elfilin fluttered his ears at the sight of the pink star warrior.

"Hi, Kirby!" he chirped.

Kirby smiled at Elfilin and happily waved his arms.

"Poyo!"

Elfilis took a deep breath and tried to recenter themself and refocus on everything in an attempt to ignore their newly unstable mindset. Elfilin flew over to Kirby and circled him with excitement in his eyes.

"Are you excited for the wedding?" Elfilin clamored, "I sure am!"

"Poyo!" Kirby nodded.

Fransisca and Flamberge approached Zan Partizanne.

"They sure are taking a sweet time to get here," Flamberge remarked, "that's plenty of time for us to gather!"

"Yeah, he really is taking a while," everyone heard.

Vesa and Elfilis turned their heads in search of the source of the voice. Everyone jumped up a little the instant Marx popped out of the snow.

"Hey!" Bandee exclaimed, "how long have you been here?!"

"I was here the whole time," Marx giggled, "I decided to stay here and wait for you to show up under 3 feet of snow!"

Marx soon ended up coughing up a large amount of snow. Two seconds passed before Elfilis figured out the chaos jester was using magic to create snow inside his mouth, accumulating a large mound of snow in a matter of ten seconds. Kirby and Elfilin exchanged glances for a brief moment before they approached Marx.

"Hello hello," Marx quipped cheerfully, "gotta put a hat on Frosty here!"

Marx pulled a small blue bucket out of his pocket dimension and put it on top of the large pile of snow before he condensed it into a snowman via his magic.

"A snowman sits in the snow," Marx continued, "is the snow made of flesh or is he made of snow? He screams for he does not know but paradoxically does, because I mean duh."

The snowman opened its mouth to scream, but no sound came out. Elfilis shuddered upon realizing Marx created a soul out of madness, which horrified them. They stared at him as he happily danced around the silently screaming Chilly. Elfilin drooped his ears while Vesa ran her thumb along her alien partner's hand.

"Is that snowman in pain?" Vesa asked.

"Not physical pain," Elfilis corrected, "probably the sheer shock of being brought to life…like how babies cry when they are born."

Vesa let out a nervous giggle as she placed her hand behind her head, gazing into the tall alien rodent's eyes.

"Well, I guess that's another way to explain it," she mused.

Dedede rubbed his chin while Meta Knight glanced behind him.

Elfilis did their best to ignore the silent screams which turned into silent laughter, followed by silent crying. Meta Knight gave Elfilis a solemn nod, briefly unsheathing his blade for a moment in understanding. The penguin spotted a yellow Squeaker out of the corner of his eye as it jumped into the snow to make a snowball. Dedede raised his eyebrow as that same Squeaker threw the snowball at a nearby blue Squeaker. Elfilin blinked when he spotted another blue Squeaker playing a game of tag with a green Squeaker.

"Uhm, guys?" Elfilin paused.

"What is it?" Elfilis asked.

While Marx was in the middle of making a large snowball, the small chinchilla floated over to his larger fragment. The blue Squeaker and green Squeaker spotted Vesa and scurried towards her, letting out happy squeaks as they bounced up from up and down.

"Oh?" Vesa blurted, "I think I recognize you from a few months ago."

That was when Meta Knight spotted Daroach from a distance. Elfilis perked up their feelers as they also took notice of the leader of the Squeak Squad. Sure enough, Spinni, Doc and Storo were following close behind as they were approaching the rendezvous point. The ultimate life-form took notice of Daroach's messy fur and stained cape, almost as if he has been running himself rather ragged lately. The Squeak Squad stopped just before the ensemble while Dedede stepped towards Daroach.

"Your Highness," Daroach nodded politely.

Dedede folded his arms and gave the Squeak Squad leader an annoyed expression.

"Did'ya get an invitation?" he asked.

"We have an invitation, yes," Daroach answered.

Just as the Squeak Squad pulled out their invitations, not elaborating on how they got them, a portal opened up in the sky and the Lor Starcutter emerged and made its descent towards the ground. The crowd watched as the portal closed, the ambient spatial mana slowly receding as the ship touched down on the ground nearby. Marx seemed to have recovered and ran over, opening his wings and flying up to the deck of the ship. The ship's porthole opened up and the ramp appeared, where Magolor exited to greet his guests. The floaty mage froze before he scanned his surroundings.

"Marx?!" Magolor exclaimed.

"Up here!" Marx called with a giggle as he peeked down at him from above.

Magolor blinked and turned around, tilting his gaze up the Lor Starcutter. He spotted the jester balancing on the edge of the deck.

"I've been calling out for you for the last twenty minutes!" Magolor demanded, "and searched all over the ship! Where have you been?!"

Kirby blinked as he balanced on one foot and tilted to the side, noticing the beads of sweat on Magolor's forehead.

"I've been here the whole time!" Marx giggled.

Magolor's eyes widened.

"In the Dimensional Gap?!" he raised his voice, "that's incredibly dangerous! The shielding was off! Oh, stars above…"

Out of stress and mere annoyance, Magolor's head flopped downwards. Kirby and Elfilin approached the floaty mage and circled him. Magolor blinked twice and shook his head to focus on greeting the pair.

"Hey, you two," Magolor smiled, "how are you guys doing today?"

Elfilin did a backflip while Kirby rose to the tip of his feet and waved his arms.

"We're excited," Elfilin answered, "right, Kirby?"

"Poyo!"

Magolor blushed while he rubbed the back of his head with a disembodied hand.

"Well, thank you both," he smiled, "it's been a trial getting this far, but it'll be worth it. Marx seems determined to ruin this for some reason. We don't have doubts about our love for each other, but it seems the idea of marriage is something he's nervous about."

Magolor made a brief glance at Marx as he pulled out a beach ball and balanced on top of it while he was still on the wall of the ship's deck.

"I suspect the concept is contrary to the nature of chaos and change," Magolor continued, "I know he still wants to do it, yet…"

Kirby and Elfilin tilted their heads in confusion.

"Sorry, that might've gone over both of your heads," Magolor blurted, his forehead sweating nervously, "I'm just so used to having someone to discuss magical theory with."

Magolor returned his gaze to the crowd and gestured to them to climb up the ramp into the Lor Starcutter. Elfilis followed Vesa up the ramp from close behind while Marx floated down to join the rest of them. Once inside, Vesa could see the Squeakers exploring the entirety of the bridge while Kirby and Elfilin approached Bandee to chat with him. She sat down at a bench and patted an empty spot next to her. Elfilis sat down next to her and let out a sigh, hoping the rest of the day would end up going well. Magolor entered the bridge shortly after Daroach boarded the ship.

"So," Daroach asked, "got any other invitees coming?"

Magolor nodded.

"I hope it doesn't take too long for Taranza to get here," Magolor replied, "if he doesn't show up within an hour, though, I might have to fly the Lor Starcutter all over Dreamland to find him."

"Ah, I see," Daroach commented, drumming his sharp claws against one of his arms and looking around with mild curiosity.

As they all waited for the last guest, Meta Knight brought up two cups of tea, handing one to Dedede. The masked knight made a brief glance at Elfilis, both of them nodding at each other silently. After several minutes passed, Kirby waddled over to the porthole to peek outside. From a distance, he could see Taranza strolling down the dirt path, but also noticed Adeleine pulling a rolling suitcase while Gooey rode on top of it. The pink puffball gave them a friendly wave from inside the ship, pushing his face cutely up against the glass.

Marx was rolling along his beach ball when Magolor stopped by the entrance.

"We ready to get moving now?" Marx clamored.

Marx jumped off the ball and kicked it into the side of the ship, causing the ball to burst into confetti.

"Once Taranza is onboard," Magolor rubbed the side of his head, "then yes."

While Elfilis leaned back to relax, Magolor floated backwards as Taranza and Adeleine walked up the ramp and into the ship. Dedede, Meta Knight and Bandee widened their eyes at the sight of Gooey on the young aspiring painter's suitcase.

"Uhh," Dedede blurted, nervously waving his hand, "how ya doin', kid?"

Adeleine paused and waved her hand at Dedede.

"Doing ok, sir," Adeleine smiled, "it's nice to see you again!"

Meta Knight vigilantly shifted his gaze between Elfilis and Gooey while Magolor shook Taranza's hand.

"I'm so glad you came!" Magolor smiled, "I was hoping you got my invitation with no trouble."

"Happy to be here," Elfilis nodded, even if they could care less about the affairs of the mildly reformed con artist and the minor chaos god.

"There was a bit of a letter pile which I had to sort through for a bit," Taranza replied, "but I managed to find the invitation."

Magolor made a brief glance at Adeleine.

"Now," Magolor asked, "what's she doing here?"

"She is a friend," Elfilis pointed out with a glance, "are you really going to complain that there is a young child attending the wedding?"

Adeleine sweated nervously and placed her hand behind her head.

"Actually," Adeleine corrected, "I'm going to spend the holiday break in Ripple Star."

Elfilis perked up their feelers. Magolor blinked twice before focusing his eyes on Gooey, who hopped off Adeleine's suitcase.

"I could always just take you there if you wanted," Elfilis offered, "I have been to Ripple Star before, they were one of the biggest allies in the fight against Dark Matter, so I have been there several times."

Adeleine's face lit up as she turned her gaze to the tall alien rodent.

"Really?" Adeleine blurted.

"But, uhh," Magolor interrupted, clapping his hands together, "why are you bringing Gooey along? I fear he might be in great danger, considering…"

"That issue has been resolved and is no longer a concern," Elfilis assured Magolor.

Magolor and Marx exchanged confused glances in a moment of silence. Dedede shrugged while Meta Knight turned his gaze to Hyness, who was sitting along the wall by himself.

"I mean," Marx mentioned, "this ship can also make a quick stop at Ripple Star, so why don't we do that?"

"Because I can open portals that would just take us there right away," Elfilis insisted.

Adeleine nodded with a grin while Elfilis rose to their full height. The young human scooped Gooey into one arm while she grabbed her suitcase with the other.

"Let's do it!" Adeleine proclaimed.

Elfilis led Adeleine outside down the ramp. Bringing out their spear, they gently poked a hole in the air and slowly dragged it downwards, opening a large tear in the fabric of space and revealing a colorful location they both recognized as Ripple Star.

"Awesome!" Adeleine chirped, staring in awe, "thanks, Elfilis!"

Adeleine made her approach towards the portal, glancing over her shoulder briefly.

"See you after the holidays!"

Adeleine jumped through the portal. A few seconds later, it closed up.
