Chapter 108 Crickets

After finding the group Judai and the others met up with Ray who's waiting alone.
Ray blinks in surprise at sight of the group.
"It's a school of them."
"Yeah and among them is my sister." Judai said
"Your sister?" Ray questions in surprise.
He points at Hazuki.
"Oh." He said.
She waves
He waves back before he looks at Judai and Kazuma. "So we're taking them to the cabin?"
"It's for the best." Kazuma said.
"Alright. Let's get going before something happens." Ray said.
They went forward all together.
Some Mantises comes but they were dealt with by Judai.
Kazuma looks around and he's got a bad feeling.
"What is it?" Ray asks.
A giant butterfly came out and stared at them. Some of the girls get scared but then many shots attacked it and saw Birth come out.
"Who's that?!" Sayo exclaims.
"That's my little brother." Kazuma said.
"Really?" Ayumi questions.
"Yes."
Shoto changes back. "Big bro."
Kazuma hugs his brother glad he was alright.
"So these are those people?" Shoto looks at them
"I'm Ray." Ray said as the others start saying their names.
"I'm Shoto."
"Nice to meet you." Mutsumi said.
"We got two at the cabin while I have two friends missing." Ray said.
"What do they look like?" Ai asks. Ray shows a picture of them.
"We gotta find them before they get themselves killed." Kazuma said.
Ray nods hoping they were still ok.
"Now we better get them to the cabin." Kazuma said.
"Yeah." Ray said.
They all went to the cabin as the riders looked around.
"Its pretty small." Kasumi frowns.
"Beggers can't be choosers." Shoto said.
"Still I don't know if we all can fit in it." Emiko said.
"Some will have to stay, as we look around, Shoto and Shiraori can look after you along with him." Judai points up and they saw Kaneki on the rooftop.
"Who's going to stay then?" Satoshi asks.
"Well... Who can even run fast or can even fight?" Judai questions.
"I'm a member of the Track and Field club." Emiko said.
"Ok." Judai said.
"I am studying to be a Entomologist." Mutsumi said.
"Okay interesting." Kazuma said.
"So that means you would know more about the bugs here." Ray said.
"She's useful." Judai said.
Kazuma nods.
"Okay, we'll go with Ray to find the rest of his friends. Then try and get out of here." Judai said.
"Should we try to make a raft?" Marika questions.
"Not right now, it's too dangerous with the bugs. Stay safe." Judai told her.
"Right." She said.
"Now get ready." Kazuma said.
Everyone going then starts setting things down.
The group went forward to another area of the island.
"I wonder how did these bugs get so big." Mutsumi wonders.
"Who knows. I just want to get back." Judai said.
"Yeah I want to leave this place once I find my friends." Ray said.
"Now where's the next part?" Kazuma looks at Ray.
Ray looks at the map. "That way."
They went to where he was pointing at.
They cam across a few more bugs but Kazuma and Judai took care of them.
"Bunch of weaklings." Judai said.
"But still dangerous." Emiko said as those Mantis' blades looked sharp.
"Stay behind us and nothing will happen." He said.
"K." Emiko said but still worried.
Judai wonders what caused they're plane to crash.
They then kept moving before seeing a large tree.
"That's a big tree." One of the girls said.
"Yeah. We better be careful." Another said.
Judai looks around it, he then sees a root that leads to it but it was narrow.
"Strange."
Kazuma also sees it.
They wonder what could this mean.
"So do we split up? One group go to the tree and the other looks around?" Ray asks.
"I'll go first." Judai goes towards it.
"Be careful." One girl said.
He waves it off and walks towards the tree getting closer.
He moves carefully not trying to fall.
"Watch my back."
Kazuma nods
Judai goes forward and looks around.
He then sees large crickets in the place underneath the root.
"Get ready!" Judai yelled.
"Why?" Emiko questions.
"Something is there." Kazuma frowns.
"What?" One questions.
Judai backs away as one of those bugs jumpe out. He takes out his scythe amd quickly slashes it in half.
The grasshopper was cut into two failing down. "Easy."
But then more and more somehow gets up there.
"A little help." Judai frowns.
Ray fires at the crickets. The creatures grunt before Kazuma charges with his sword, he slashes them before kicking one up and stabbing it.
Judai then slashes one in half, they keep slashing the crickets until there was no more left.
"Okay, they're gone." Judai said.
"I'll go and look around for anything useful." Ray said.
"Okay." Kazuma said.
Ray leaves them to look for stuff.
Judai and Kazuma looked around.
Luckily for the group Ray gave them a bat and a sickle to help defend themselves.
"Now keep an eye out, we don't need any insects to come out behind us." Kazuma said.
They all nod as they try to keep their eyes and ears out.
Judai uses his high senses to make sure nothing comes. Then some large moths came too.
"Of course." Kazuma said.
They then fend them off keeping the things away.
"These things are so gross!" One girl said.
"Oh suck it up!" Judai said.
She scowls at what Judai said.
"Calm down." Kazuma said.
Eventually the moths were killed.
Judai grunts.
"We're safe for now." Emiko said relieved.
"Now what?" Kazuma looks around.
Judai then sees a entrance into the tree.
"Let's check it inside."
Judai and Kazuma enters the tree and moves up it.
"What inside of it?" Kazuma said.
Judai shrugs before they went as high as they could. As they move out there were large Cicadas on the tree. Judai then slashes some of them off.
Kazuma ducks under some and slashes them half as they came at him.
Judai looks at the thing of interest here. He takes out the Faiz Phone and takes aim before firing at it.
"What?" Kazuma looks.
Something fell and the boys went to it.
"What is it?" Kazuma said.
Judai picks it up. "A grenade."
Kazuma's eyes widen at this before gaining a look confusion.
"Why would it be here?"
"I don't know but let's go." Judai puts it away.
The two went to see where Ray is as things are getting stranger than ever before.
Note: The group has more trouble with insects again and they found a grenade in a tree, that might be useful for later.
