The following day, after school, I was with the girls and said, "Jeff's coming down this weekend and Sharon asked me to watch him on Saturday. She and Dad have plans for lunch and movies."

"Oh, good, can we come over?" asked Kayla.

"Sure," I said.

"We love seeing him," said Kayla. "We have no one to watch. They have a birthday party."

We were halfway home.

"I'm just collecting the mail," I said.

"I'm going to do the same while we wait for Kaylee," said Kayla.

"I didn't even though she's not with us," I said.

"She had to make up a test she missed from the class cycle," said Kayla.

She was collecting the mail and came back out when Kaylee came home.

"That didn't take long," said Kayla.

"No," said Kaylee.

"Mary Anne and I were just collecting mails while we wait for you," said Kayla.

"That's fine," said Kaylee.

I came back out after I collected mail and I saw Andy on the porch with his guy friends.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"We wanted to hang out," said Rick.

"Not really. I have plans," I said.

"Why can't we just hang out here in your house?" asked Rick.

"Sorry. Boys can't enter the house without any adults home," I said.

They noticed the guys.

"What is going on now?" asked Kaylee.

"Come on, let's go rescue her," said Kayla.

I was trying to leave when the girls came.

"Are you ready to leave? Kaylee just got home," said Kaylee.

"Can you ask for a favor though?" asked Rick.

"I have Math homework and it's not my best subject, so can you help me?" asked Rick.

"I need to make sure Sharon's home first," I said.

"Why?" asked Rick.

"What do you mean why? She's responsible for me and I can not bring any boys in the house if she or Dad aren't home," I said. "You should know it by now, Andy."

I texted Sharon and asked her if she would be home tonight and she said she would be. That was when we took off to the mall.

"Thanks for coming for the rescue," I said.

"No problem," said Kaylee.

"So what was the problem with Andy now?" asked Kayla.

"They all want to hang out with me, but I told him I can't," I said.

"When I saw the guys, I knew they were starting trouble," said Kayla. "They're real jerks and are bad news."

"I didn't hear that part," I said.

"I haven't, either," said Kaylee.

"Dad just met them and he seemed to be fine," I said.

"That's how guys are. They act cool when they meet anyone's parents for the first time," said Kayla.

"That explains why Andy acts the way he is," I said.

"Yes," said Kayla.

"He's the one who disobeys Dad's rule with no boys in the house when no adults are home," I said.

"I know," said Kayla.

"He wants me they wanted to hang out and I said couldn't," I said.

"Have you told your father about what was going on yet?" asked Kayla.

"First of all, I haven't seen him since we moved here," I said.

"What do you mean?" asked Kayla.

"He have been working late because his boss is on medical leave and is due to be back on Monday if he's lucky enough," I said.

"Second of all, I was forced to keep quiet," I said.

"Why?" asked Kayla.

"Andy threatened to kill me if I say anything," I said.

"He shouldn't say that to you," said Kaylee.

"I think they'll be proud of you telling them," said Kayla.

"I don't see how April can go out with him," I said.

"Us, either," said Kayla.

"She's to the blame. My father is the one who kept reminding her about that," I said.

"He shouldn't have to tell her that," said Kaylee.

After we went to a few stores, Kayla said, "Does anyone want to eat in food court for dinner?"

"Sure, I'm in," I said.

"Me, too," said Kaylee.

We went over to the food court and decided to share a large pizza. That was when Andy and his guy friends spotted us.

"Oh, boy," said Kayla.

"You're very bossy," said Andy.

"No, I'm not. I'm sorry you feel that way, but I do respect my father and stepmother's rules," I said. "And second, you're lucky I was able to help Rick while Sharon was home or he wouldn't be coming, so don't come and yell at me."

"Don't even think about say anything about me coming to your house," said Andy.

The girls and I walked away. He is starting to get on my nerves.

This was kind of weird because I'm normally too shy to speak up and now, I grew to be more assertive over the summer.

After dinner, at home, I managed to help Rick with Math until he got the hung of it. He stayed until he was done. After he left, I was glad when Rick left. I wasn't going to let Andy being bossy to me. The truth is I don't hide anything from Dad- we have a good relationship. The problem is how can I discuss with him if he barely have time?

Sharon is another story: What if she does get mad at for not saying anything? That's what I worry. In fact, I never shared issues with her before, so I won't know where to begin. That's why I go see Dad whenever I have problems and he's excellent at having me solve stuff. I try to find the right time to talk to him.

I realized I forgot to do my own homework all because of him. It was just Math and English, but I wasn't let him make me miss anything or let my grades go down. To my luck, I was done just before I got ready for bed.
